Hi again! I got Book #19! *grin* Sorry about the long wait, but…I have no excuse. *sweatdrop* I'm trying, I really am. Um…yeah. I'm working on like a prequel to this for when Kage and Akuma are kids, so…yeah. Hopefully I'll manage to keep that under wraps before I can actually attempt to finish my Black Butler…which I'm being very bad about. *shame cloud* On the plus side, I got a YouTube account (link on my profile) and posted all my Hellsing, all my Soul Eater, and some of my FullMetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) videos on it. So now you can go look at them.

I will wield the gun. I will determine the aim. I will put the ammo in the magazine, pull the slide, and even undo the safety. But what will kill is your intent. So what are my orders?!

DK's POV:

"Sloth huh? Look lively everyone, if you're tired and ya know it clap your hands." I said with a yawn, and Hazel gave me a dirty look as Kid rapidly scrubbed his eyes, muttering "stay awake stay awake stay awake". Akuma sucked in a deep breath and knotted his hands in his hair, jerking hard to keep himself lively. Chairs, sofas, and beds littered the empty space around us, and the very air made me feel sleepy and relaxed. Gentle classical music drifted around, and it was seriously hard to stay vertical. "I've been waiting for you freaks ta show up. What're ya all doing here? I don't like to be kept waiting!" I twitched as the voice broke through my hazy fog.

OH KUTABARE-

"MOVE!"

I elbowed Hazel out of the way, a wet cough breaking free of my throat as whirring teeth bit deep into my back, spraying my dark blood all over the pristine floor. Akuma gritted his teeth as Kid immediately took his "Stance of Crime", preparing to take a blow themselves. I whirled into shadow, grabbing and transforming Hazel as I went. Giriko grinned at us from his spot in the white void, and I felt the murderous wavelength eddying off him like a nauseating scent. "Where's my sister?!" Akuma snarled, pulling a sword out of the shadows, and Giriko sneered. "Ya'll worried about that freak?! Seems to me ya should be more worried about me!" he roared, flashing his leg out as I took it on my free arm, hardening the black blood and firing off a quick round from Hazel before dissolving away and letting Akuma take his whirring teeth on his sword.

Kid darted around to his other side, aiming a kick for his face, but Giriko dodged and nearly severed his leg as he twisted in midair and avoided it. Why aren't we fighting normally DK? Hazel asked me nervously as I appeared several meters away; snapping off three rounds before dodging the saw blade Giriko sent my way. Unless you haven't been paying attention, a cannon is kinda a long-distance weapon. I thought grumpily, twisting and writhing in midair as Kid and Akuma kept Giriko busy, although the whacked-up saw still had time to send several shots our way. You aren't made to deflect his kind of damage, and I can't just chuck you to the side and walk on whistling to fight him myself, can I? She shrugged sheepishly, and I saw my chance and fired just as Kid got pushed out of the way by Akuma.

"Hey! That was kinda close DK!" he yelped, and we both rolled our eyes as Akuma took Giriko's next blow on his sword arm. "I don't have a connection like you two, I don't know when to dodge or not!" Kid added angrily, darting in to land a hard blow to Giriko's spine with his elbow, causing the saw to buckle and shout something incoherent, probably unflattering. "Akuma, would you?" I muttered through gritted teeth, firing off small, nonfatal rounds rapidly, trying to pin Giriko down so Akuma and Kid could start up a Chain Resonance. "On it." he muttered, closing his eyes briefly, and I felt Kid's presence join our little connection of minds as I upped the power on my shots, knowing that both of my comrades would be able to time their own attacks correctly.

Giriko roared in rage, and his wavelength expanded so suddenly both me and Hazel were blown backward, my clothes and skin shredding from the sheer murderous quality and the saw blades whirring about. I felt Kid's shock and Akuma's resentment at being caught by surprise waver through our connected wavelengths, and they both sat up as the trembling man before us cackled wildly. "YOU TELLING ME YOU WERE THE LITTLE SHITS THAT KILLED ARACHNE?! I SPENT 800 YEARS WAITING FOR HER ORGINIZATION TO COME AROUND, AND WHEN I'M DONE, YOU DWMA FREAKS COME IN AND MESS IT ALL UP! I'LL KILL YOU FOR THAT! KILL YOU!" he bellowed, the chains of his saw whipping about him like they were caught in a hurricane as all of the chapter's conveniently placed chairs, couches, and beds within ten feet of him were slashed and shredded to splinters and scraps of fabric.

Strangely enough, I perked up at that. You thinking what I'm thinking? Akuma asked silently, and Kid looked from him to me in confusion as Hazel voiced the same. What are you guys thinking? she asked plaintively, and I wiped the tiny trickle of black blood from the corner of my mouth with a smirk. I'm the Great Old One of Rage; my soul can handle my kind of wavelength easily. Same with Akuma, since he was my host. Kid too, since he's a god. But for a human, even a strong weapon like him, containing that kind of murderous wavelength within his soul for eight hundred years is asking too much of it. His soul won't be able to take it much longer and then- I made a clicking noise with my tongue, grinning wider. –its lights out and goodnight saw-man.

Akuma stood up as Kid blinked, then smirked with us, standing up easily and again taking his "Stance of Crime". So all we have to do is make him very, very, very angry with us? he asked silently, and Akuma and me both gave him a thumbs up. Exactly. I thought with a wicked grin, and Akuma snickered happily. So…how are we gonna get him mad? Hazel asked after a moment, and I sweatdropped. "Uh…gimme a second on that." Giriko, meanwhile, had other plans. "WHAT THE HELL YOU FREAKS DOING?! PAY ATTENTION TA ME, BEFORE I CUT YOU UP!" he roared, and just like that, a lightbulb popped up above my head. "You should really stop trying to kill us. Your soul can't handle it." I said meekly, and he sent a crazed glare in my direction. "YOU THINK I CAN'T HANDLE MY OWN WAVELENGTH YOU DEMONIC ASSHOLE!?" he bellowed, and I yelped and shifted through about five dimensions of shadows to avoid the mayhem of saw blades he sent my way.

That was a good idea…now how do we get him off us?! Hazel squealed in panic, and Kid cracked his knee across the rapidly berserking weapon's head. "Take a rest old man! This is the chapter of Sloth, there's plenty of places for you to have a lie down!" he spat, obviously still not forgiving him for having called Kage a freak. Giriko whirled on him with a roar of rage, but Akuma nearly hacked his back open with a blade before he could harm the reaper. Something in the fabric of the universe popped, and I reached out to feel Giriko's soul shred slightly and convulse. Keep it up guys! I thought as whirled into existence and fired a few rounds from Hazel. "Don't push yourself gramps! Too much killing rage is bad for you!" Akuma spat as Giriko blocked another sword cut from him, the psychotic saw's eye twitching steadily. "SHUT! UP!" he shrieked, and there was another little snap as his whole body convulsed. Almost there. We can do this! Kid thought encouragingly, landing a hard blow to Giriko's ribs with his elbow.

"Get out of my way old man!" he snapped, and Giriko batted him away with a roar of rage, sending the reaper crashing against a far chair and smashing it to splinters. "I! WILL! KILL! YOU! ALL-" There was a harsh, loud snap, and a little pop, like one's ears would do underwater. Giriko suddenly stopped screaming, a startled look on his face. Akuma stopped his downward cut, narrowing his eyes. Kid sat up from the ruins of the chair, wiping a trickle of blood from his forehead. As if in slow motion, the maniac saw's legs folded up, his eyes rolling back in his head as he collapsed to his knees. Total silence reigned in the chapter of Sloth, except for the ever-present classical music that reminded me of elevator music.

"Did we win?" Hazel asked as she shifted out of my hands –I was torn between congratulating her for doing it on her own and reprimanding her for doing it in a situation where we weren't sure if the enemy was dead or not– and closed my eyes to verify. Not even a spark, from Giriko's body or from the surrounding chapter around us, except for Kid and Akuma obviously. "I think we got him." I answered after a moment, and Kid stood and walked over to us, smiling painfully. "So did you guys get hurt?" I shook my head, inspecting my body. "A few scratches here and there. Nothing bad. Hazel?"

"I'm good." was her verdict. Akuma gave us all a silent thumbs up. "Index, next chapter please." I called to the open air, and it suddenly drifted out from under a bed. "You little coward." I said frankly, and it clicked primly. "Self-preservation is not cowardice when one has no one to fix their broken form, Demon King. I am the only one able to organize this book's contents properly and if I am put out of commission there is no telling what will happen." he replied archly as the page started to rise, and I rolled my eyes and hooked an arm under Hazel's chin, pulling her over as Akuma grabbed Kid and stomped his foot on mine. I winced as the page smashed down on top of us, then gingerly lifted my foot and rubbed it, mumbling a curse. Hazel maneuvered out of my headlock as I did so. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" I growled, and he smirked and whistled innocently, putting his hands behind his head.

"So what chapter is this?" Hazel asked, and Kid sniffed and made a face. "Smells like some kind of expensive incense or perfume. And way too much of it…" he mumbled in disgust, covering his nose and mouth. I stopped rubbing my foot and straightened. "Probably Greed. 'S the last one left. Which also means that the Black Mass is in the next chapter over." I said with a frown, and the Index bobbed agreement. "Indeed. Most assquidly, er, assuredly so." Kid looked impatient. "Well take us there then." The Index shook its head. "I can only guide you this far. What happens after this is for him to decide. No one may proceed to the next chapter without the permission of the Great Old One." he said flatly, and a crackle of black energy appeared a few feet away from us, then expanded into a large portal. Madness flowed from it like Asura to the millionth degree, and Kid shuddered in remembrance as Akuma and Hazel gave me uneasy looks.

I cracked my knuckles, staring full-on into the vortex. "Alright then cousin. We have a few things to chat about." I muttered, then took a step forward. "You guys stick around here." I told them, and Hazel started. "Hey wait a minute DK! You can't just go in by yourself, as your weapon partner I have to go in too-" The Index cut her off. "The gate will only allow one of you to pass through. And the Demon King is the one who was summoned." I turned and gave her a half-smile as Akuma put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Hazel, this is just a tiny little family matter. I'll be fine." I said reassuringly, and Kid frowned slightly. "Are you sure you can handle this without losing your temper again like you did with Excalibur?" he said with a straight face, and my eye twitched slightly. "Don't remind me. Ladies and gentlemen." I mock saluted, plugged my nose, and jumped in.
