Chapter Thirteen:

Boy, Do You Look Familiar

"Ugh…Hm…Where…Where am I?" Sonic shook his head and wiggled his wrists, taking note that something was binded around them—something cold and tight.

He blinked up at the only light in the dark room, a lamp hung from the ceiling. The chair he was tied to was rather uncomfortable but the scene he saw before him tore his focus away from the chair.

Sarah was in the same situation as he was, only in front of him. Her mouth had been gagged and she was raising an eyebrow at Sonic.

"Sarah!"

"Sonic!" another voice hissed.

"Amy?" Sonic squinted towards the left, looking in the shadows. "Is that you?"

"Yes, but be quiet! They'll come in and gag you too! Sarah wouldn't keep her trap shut."

The lime green hedgehog narrowed her eyes at where Amy was supposed to be. There was a fidgeting towards Sonic's left.

"Please tell me everything's going to be okay…"

"Sonia!" Sonic said heavily, letting out a breath of worried air. "What—Why—How did you-"

"It was Dan and Lenny in the gym. We asked for Sarah and Amy," Sonia said. "Then the next thing we know, they were attacking us from behind."

"Us? Who else was with you?" Sonic worriedly asked.

"Fiona."

The remaining troops of Sonic Co. were in a hotel room. Shadow had decided it definitely wasn't his—but probably Rouge's. She led them there with bravery and was now taking charge over the rescue mission.

"They've taken them and hidden them somehow. So, now we just need a plan to get them back," the ivory bat said with such easiness that it made Shadow growl.

"Of course…Any plans?" Shadow grumbled as Knuckles whacked his shoulder.

Scourge was too busy pacing, concerned over Fiona's wellbeing now. Tails fidgeted in a chair while Cream calmed him down, though she was rather shaken up herself.

Silver and Blaze sat together on the bed with Manic and Sunny nearby. Flame was rocking back and forth while sitting against the wall, his knees brought to his chest. Alicia found a tight grasp from Espio while Charmy and Vector remained at her side at all times.

"They must be good if they got Sonic…" Tails whispered, looking widely at the floor. "How…What do we do?"

"Sonic wasn't in his clear state of mind," Rouge reminded. "He was fair game as are the rest of us."

"That still doesn't leave many options on what to do," Silver noted, glancing at everyone in the room that would make eye contact. "The most we can do is bait and find their hideout."

"They're probably knocking 'em out though," Knuckles interrupted with a shake of his head. "They would've had to. Amy and Sarah would've put up a fight. So would Sonic. I'm sure Sonia and Fiona would be in the same boat as well. We're all fighters and we're all known around Mobius."

"So…" Shadow trailed off. "Whoever it is must have a group. One person couldn't have taken two people on by themselves—especially Amy and Sarah or Sonia and Fiona. It doesn't match up…" Suddenly, his head lifted and his eyes widened and remained on the carpeted floor.

"What?" Rouge inquired. "What is it, Shadow?"

"Who else talked to them on the trip that we know of?" Shadow glanced to his friend.

Blaze shrugged. "In a group? Well…" Realization hit her and she looked to Rouge, "The guys from the gym. Amy said something about them being at the beach too."

Rouge raised an eyebrow. "Right…I talked to one of them—Vince, I think it was—the echidna. He was in the gym with us. I almost completely forgot about them…"

"And Fiona and Sonia went missing in the gym," Flame said, standing up suddenly and making Scourge stop pacing. "The guys were probably in there, knew we were getting suspicious, and cut the line."

"What do you mean by that?" Scourge charged through the circle and glared into Flame's face. "You don't suppose they're dead, do you?"

"I hope not," Flame bared his teeth, standing taller than anyone in the room besides Knuckles. "But just remember that you guys are heroes. No one would attack you and hold you for ransom more often than they would attack to dispose you."

Silver let out a heavy sigh. "He's unfortunately right…"

"Bait is the only thing we got," Rouge smacked her fist to her palm and looked at the group. "So who wants to be it?"

"Why do I get put up with this?" Silver whimpered to himself, walking slowly towards the gym door. "I've done everything right and I've been a good friend."

The door was just a few feet away. The white hedgehog was taking his time like no one knew. He really didn't want to get sacrificed. Hell, they didn't even know if their kidnappers were killing them off or just kidnapping them. Silver certainly didn't want to be the one to find out though.

Sadly, he was.

"First, I'm the laughing stock. Now, I'm the dead man walking," he whined and put his hand on the door and took a deep breath. "I think I prefer the former."

With nothing but fear, he walked into the empty room and scanned it, humming to himself.

"Hell-o? Sonia? Fiona?" Silver twisted around in a circle as the door shut, "Anyone in here?"

Clang!

"Whoa!"

Silver flailed his arms out as he tripped over a bar and hit the floor, groaning and griping about his head. His hand reached for the back of his neck and he looked up to see blurry figures. One was dark and the other was bright blue.

But one came in clearest. A brown cat—female cat. Her piercing green eyes glared down at him as he started to point up at her.

"Boy…do you look…." Silver mumbled as he saw the blue figure raise a fist, "…familiar."

The fist came smacking down and everything was lights out for the bait.

Oh, snap, crackle, and pop!

You might need to look at the earlier chapters to see who it is. She's in ONE earlier chapter and I'm sure you can remember which one that was rather easily.

If you wanna go see The Hobbit: Part 3, you better be able to sit there during a battle without counting the ceiling tiles. No joke, I started to do it. It just went on and on! Then I went to see Into the Woods today and man! Do they sing A LOT! I wasn't expecting them to sing that much, but they did. I especially liked the 'Agony' song the two prince brothers sang together. XD Either way, both movies are great and you should definitely check it out if you're into either of those genres!
