Rule# 8 "If something works, use it 'til it don't."
She gulped, eyes wide as she stared at the boy in front of her.
"Please?" He asked so sweetly timid and widened his eyes even further.
'Eyes shouldn't get that big,' she thought dimly.
"Please?" He repeated bringing his clasped hands up under his chin and tilting his head to the side. She melted.
"Ok." She whispered and handed him the rock.
"Yes!" He snatched the rock from her. "Finally, I win!"
She blinked as he bounced around in front of her, slowly recovering from the shock. Those impossibly wide blue eyes, tiny little pout, and sweet little voice. . . A person should not be that cute! She shook her head, hands coming up to hide the blush. She peaked at the boy from behind her fingers, watching him wave the rock over his head.
What he was supposed to have done was distract her and "steal" the stone, not turn into something so cute she almost had a heart attack!
"So, whatcha think?"
She jerked back as he shoved his face next hers. She coughed and gave herself a mental slap.
"Well, that's not exactly what I meant, but it worked, really, really well." She finished with a mumble, and cleared her throat. "New rule! If something works use it 'til it don't! Got it?"
"Got it!" He said still riding the wave of happiness that came with finally succeeding in getting that dumb rock.
"Good. Just remember, don't use the same trick on the same person until they've forgotten your face, 'k? Now give me my rock."
He grinned at her. "Come and get it!"
