Inside Towa City near the Factory

Naegi and Byakuya took a couple hours since they were at the location of Hope's Peak Academy. As future Naegi was leading the way around the city to keep Byakuya safe from encountering any danger they stop to take a break.

"Where exactly is this old friend, you're talking about?" demanded Byakuya.

Naegi remained calm as he was looking over in the distance seeing a bunch of Monokuma's guarding the factory main entrance before he looked over towards Byakuya's way.

"Don't worry. Once we find ourselves a safe location. We will time jump to the past. So, then we can navigate easier to the designated location to meet that person" replied Naegi reassuring Byakuya.

However, Byakuya was feeling a bit hesitant about the future Naegi standing before him as he did not fully trust him completely as of yet.

"You did not answer my question! Who is this person?" Asked Byakuya a bit irritated with future Naegi's remark.

"I'm sorry, I know you want to know who it is and once we are in a safe spot I promise you-" replied future Naegi but was interrupted by Byakuya a bit annoyed with him dodging his question.

"Enough! Tell me or you can forget receiving my help!" shouted Byakuya. Naegi frowned a bit but understood where Byakuya was coming from because he knew very well that Byakuya's is very difficult person to persuade into working alongside with those who want his help.

The Monokuma's turned around seeing Byakuya and Future Naegi and running toward their direction. They both grit their teeth and Naegi looks at Byakuya again.

"We got to run! NOW!" replies future Naegi.

They run and run, as fast as their legs could take them. They eventually reach a bus stop somewhere within a little bit in the outskirts of Towa City. As they reach a safe location with no Monokuma's in plain sight, future Naegi places down the time machine and looks at Byakuya.

"Once we time travel back to the past before this post-apocalyptic war zone...I'll answer your question. I promise" replied Naegi.

"...Whatever let's just get out of this miserable place" replied Byakuya crossing his arms and looking around the rubble buildings nearby them.

Future Naegi looks at him seriously and gives a light nod and turns on the machine and flicking the switches and pressing the orange button. As the machine begins to come to life, electronical discharges begin to act, it creates a big force field around them as they feel the gravitational pull and then vanish from within the vicinity.

(Outskirts of Towa City by the Bus Stop)

As they land, Byakuya still could not get used to the slight dizziness from the gravitational pull while jumping through time. He places his hand on his forehead trying to regain back his momentum. Naegi slightly smiles looking at Byakuya, while Byakuya sighs lightly and taking his hand off his forehead looking at Naegi with sarcasm.

"Don't be mistaken, I'm just still trying to process all of this" replies Byakuya. Naegi just turns away and looks around them as he stares at the buildings all around them and walks over to the schedule of the bus routes.

Byakuya notices that the future Naegi is completely different from the Naegi he knows from school. His demeanor, slightly more stoicism and most of all his appearance brings off a different kind of vibe. As he notices this, he ponders out loud in his head as Naegi was still looking at the bus routes.

'Is this really Makoto Naegi, he still seems like the annoying plebeian that I know...yet I still wonder how he became this person as of now. Hmm, besides that I have yet to still hear that answer of this mysterious person we are to meet' thought Byakuya.

"Looks like will have to commute on a bus route and possibly get a taxi to get to that location" replies Naegi naturally as he analyzes the bus route. Byakuya just looks around his surroundings when he soon speaks up as he then crosses his arms impatiently.

"Where exactly are we going?" asks Byakuya flatly.

"We are going outside the outskirts of Towa City in the Desert about 3 hours exactly away from Hope's Peak Academy" replies Naegi looking towards Byakuya's way with the sunglasses still on him.

"Why the hell all the way out there, this is really beginning to get ridiculous...I see that there is a war but that doesn't explain why this location is so far away, also when are we?" asked Byakuya annoyed and demanded answers.

"Okay Byakuya, I will just get to the point. This old friend we are meeting is named Dr. Takashi Mitarai, the one who invented the time machine over 50 years ago in the physics lab at Hope's Peak Academy. For everything to exist and to stop all of Junko Enoshima's heinous acts upon this world, we must at all costs receive the time machine from him otherwise..." replies Naegi then pausing.

Byakuya raises an eyebrow and looks at him sternly.

"Otherwise, what?" asks Byakuya.

"I'll seek to ever exist of coming here to prevent the horrific future to come from the very beginning" replies Naegi seriously with a full resolve of Hope planted within his heart.

"In other words, you're implying that meeting this Dr. Takashi is our only hope for this ever to be possible in saving the world. And that you must go to him because you need his help, I would only assume you have some significance in doing all of this" replies Byakuya placing his hand on his chin.

Naegi did mention to him that he came from the future so it's only logical for Byakuya to deduct that, however there were still things he wanted to mention to Byakuya so he can ensure there is a purpose for Byakuya to help him.

"That's right, it's as you say Byakuya, I have three reasons why I am visiting this person. One is to plant the time machine in the physics lab after the events of the mutual killing game so that my younger self will find it. Second is to show you proof of the mutual killing game broadcast live at the time it happened to you and finally to construct the balance of the fixed correspondence time, so that-" replies Naegi while Byakuya finishes his sentence.

"You can save the future..." replies Byakuya he then looks at Naegi intensively.

"Yes" replies Naegi.

"Listen, I believe you are someone I thought was a plebian, but I got no choice but to look at you at a different perspective. Makoto, you understand that the path you're taking to do all of this is not easy. That being said, I hope it leads to a good conclusion" replies Byakuya slightly concerned as he half believes Future Naegi. Given the fact he seen a lot of devastation only moments ago in the future, he knew very well that this person is no longer a teen but an adult with determination.

"Thanks, I know this is not an easy task but..." replies Naegi looking down at the ground for a moment and then looks up at Byakuya and takes his shades off.

"This is my Ultimate Second Chance...and I'm going to see it through to the end" replies Naegi confidently with his full resolve. He knows very well that he does not want to fall into despair anymore like he did in the past and truly believes that with the support from all of the people who have helped him along the way, will be his Ultimate of Hope for a second chance as the Lucky Student.

Byakuya notices that this man standing before him shining brightly, knew that at this very moment, Makoto Naegi from the future is the Ultimate of Hope. Even though he hasn't seen the mutual killing on television yet. He knows that he must see it with his own eyes before he decides to corporate with him to the fullest.

"There's no sugar coating it, you really are going to see this to the end" replies Byakuya giving off a cocky smirk.

"Absolutely" replies Naegi smiling with full of hope.
