Sorry for a late up date and short chapter. But, I hope you like it.
It's nearly a year since Harry saw the pensieve and it's been 8 months since the golden trio begin their training with Severus. And it's been three month when Severus begin to teach them duel. The three students take his entire lesson like a sponge, sadly, they're not a naive students anymore.
Severus tried to teaches them everything he could think of so they could survived the war. Even though it's hurt to saw the fifteen years old turn into a hard heart soldier, he could do nothing for it. 'I prefer they grow up before their time than seeing them dead at the madman hand.' Severus thought with a heavy heart. Severus sigh heavily as he turn his head to see Harrys' duel with Hermione. 'Did you think I do the right thing, James?' Severus heart knot uneasily. 'Did I do the right thing for our son?'
Severus looked back at the still dueling students, Harry circling Hermione softly as he tried to read her mind while Hermione looked waryly at the boy before her. Without any word, Harry throws a hex to Hermione, making her yelp in surprise. Severus smile softly as he look at his son's progress.
Nobody could believe how much talent the three children in front of him. Harry, with his strength, mischief and bravery, he could do anything if he put his thought into it. Hermione with her wit, passion and bright brain, it can be said she's the brain among the golden trio. And Ron with his persistence, strategy and his loyalty makes him a very good ally and friend. Without their knowing, they complete each other perfectly.
"I yield!" Hermione scream in frustration. Harry laughs loudly, he jump around the room in happiness before he throw his body to Severus in tight hug. Severus smiles proudly at them, "Good job Harry, Hermione."
"I did a good job, Dad." Harry brags happily. Severus smiles at the bright emerald eyes before him, beautiful eyes of his son who looked at him with adoration and love. Severus kisses his temple as he ruffles the back of his head lovingly.
"Yes, you, my dear do a very good job. Especially with wordless spell. Keep on doing it, it could give you a huge advantage over your enemy." Harry nodded in agreement but he never releases his hold over Severus chest. "And you, young lady, never say 'give up' to your enemy. Think fast and do everything you could to take your enemy down because they would never spare you though you said 'yield'." Severus scolds softly at the still pouting girl.
"He's too strong." Hermione glared at the still over the moon boy who still stuck like a limpet over his dad's chest. "Oh, for Merlin pants, Harry! Stop hanging over your dad, would you!" Hermione scowl at the still grinning boy whose now sticking his tongue at the still sprawling girl.
Severus sighs at their antics, "There's always a stronger enemy, Hermione. But it's not a reason for any of you to give up." Severus quirks his eyebrow at them.
"How could we defeat stronger enemy? My magic can't help me if they have a stronger magic than me." Hermione furrow her brow in thinking.
"You're a muggle, Hermione." Severus said in nonchalant, making the girl glaring at him. "What?" Severus glared back at her.
"Is there something wrong with my 'muggle' status, Sir?" she asked in deviance.
"Oh, for Merlin beard, girl. If you forget, I'm a half blood." He said in irritation. "Use your brain for once and stop any negative thinking for once." He scolds her in harshly.
"I'm sorry, Sir." She mumbles with guilt. Muggle status still giving her irritation and when a teacher you admired said it, it hurt her more than anything. But in her mind, she knows that Severus mean something on his word and he's not trying to belittle her.
"I know muggle word always rile you up, but you should be grateful with that." Severus rolls his eyes when the three teenagers look at him in question. "Muggle, non magic." Severus says in expectant voice, hoping the teenager get what his meaning. When he saw the more puzzle expression on the three of them, Severus throw his hand up as he mumble 'Great'.
"Hermione, what a muggle do when they're facing a bad man?" Severus quirk his eyebrow at her. When understanding dawn at her, she's gaping at him in adoration and awe. "Exactly, Ms. Granger. Use everything you got to protect yourself. Like I said, you're a muggle, behaving like a witch and a muggle you are. Use your magic, but when the opportunity strike, use a muggle way if you have to. Do you understand me?" Severus looks at the still staring teenager in front at him, two in understanding and one in confusion.
"We could do that?" Harry asked loudly.
"In duel, no. But in war, yes." Severus says. "In duel that mean you defending your honor, you done everything with magic and in duel you could says 'I yield'. But when you are in war, you're enemy wouldn't care with what they would use as long as the end result is you died and they're survive. That's war." He says solemnly.
"What do muggle do exactly?" Ron asked in confusion.
"Harry, Hermione, you should teach Mr. Weasley about muggle way." Severus smile lightly.
"Right." They say in unison before they plopped back into cold floor, trying to lower their hot body with the cold marble and collect their strength back.
"Merlin, I'm so tired." Harry says tiredly as he begins to yawn. Ron and Hermione groan in agreement. Severus shakes his head as he walk out he dueling room to take some drink and potion for them, but when he got back into the room, the three teenagers already snoring at the floor. Severus sighs but a small smile bloom at this red lips. He stays there for awhile, savoring the peaceful feeling in his heart, picturing the peaceful moment into his mind. 'So little time but so much to do.' Severus thought softly in regret.
