Finally we made it to the first part of "The End" arc. This took me time to work on because I had to watch the episodes again so I can get the scenes that happened. That way I can make some changes since Anna is added in this story. So if you see some scenes that are like from the episodes that are different, then you know why.
I don't own anything of Teen Titans or anything from the DC Universe. I only own my OCs and thanks to everyone for the support for the story. You guys are awesome and hopefully more will like this story as we continue near the end. All right it's time for the chapter to begin, enjoy.
The End part I
Infirmary
Inside a dark cave Slade is kneeling down in front of the eyes of Trigon. They speak about today, which is the day the prophecy will be fulfilled to bring Trigon into the world.
"The time has come," said Trigon. "The prophecy shall be fulfilled. Tonight at dusk, when the planets align, the portal will be opened. Finally, I shall be free from this fiery prison and the Earth shall be mine."
"I will make sure that Raven realizes her destiny," said Slade as he lifts his head up at Trigon. "Once she realizes the only way to save her girlfriend is to fulfill her destiny, then she will help us. Of course, you do realize she will only do this if she is sure the antidote we have will cure her."
"It will," Trigon replied when he sensed something. "What is on your mind?"
"I know Raven," Slade answered. "Better than you and I know she won't accept the deal unless she knows the antidote works. If she doesn't there is a good chance she might not accept."
Trigon knew Slade was right. His daughter is stubborn and she will not become the portal unless she sees her girlfriend is okay. "Very well, once she sees it works she will have no choice but to go through with her half of the deal."
"And for bringing your precious gem, I expect you to keep your part of the bargain and return what is precious to me," said Slade reminding Trigon of their deal.
"You bring me the gem and you shall get what you deserve," said Trigon.
"Deal," said Slade as fire demons appeared. "It's a beautiful day for the end of the world."
Slade soon left with the fire demons as Trigon began to chuckle. "You'll get what you deserve all right, once the world is mine."
Italy (1:55 pm)
Jimmy is in his room still working on trying to find a way to save Anna. He has been looking through every book in the Vatican to find the cure for the poison, but couldn't find anything to help. He continued reading, but after staying up all night and half the day he knew there was nothing he had to save his friend. This means unless Raven accepts the deal, Anna will die and go to Hell.
Last night he was planning to tell the Pope what happened and if he knew a way to save her, but he stopped when he heard the Pope speaking with the other members of the Vatican. He overheard them talking about how Anna has failed to kill the demon child, Raven and how they should send someone to deal with this problem.
The Pope reassured them that Anna will keep Raven from becoming the portal and everything will be okay. They then reminded the Pope that the prophecy will is coming soon and any more time they waste to stop this gives Trigon more time to escape.
The Pope tells them he will consider a second option, but isn't going to agree to anything unless something happens to Anna. Jimmy knew then he couldn't tell them what happened to her since it would give them an excuse to send someone to kill Raven.
If they did that it might help bring Anna back from hell to exact her revenge. He shuddered at the thought of how scary she is when she is pissed off. Still, he had to tell the Pope somehow and hope he will help save Anna without killing Raven. But how can he do it without the others finding out?
"How am I supposed to explain this to them?"
"Explain what?" Jimmy fell out of his chair when he saw the Pope entering the room. "Is everything okay?"
"Your holiness, what are you doing here?" Jimmy asked as he gets up.
"I came to see you," the Pope answered as he walks towards one of the books Jimmy was using and begins reading it. "Did you find what you were looking for?"
"Yes, I mean no I didn't," Jimmy answered as best he could and knew he had to tell the Pope the truth. "Sir, there's something I need to tell you. It's very important."
"What is it?" he asked. "Does it involve Anna?"
Jimmy nods. "Sir, I want to tell you but I'm afraid if I do the other members of the Vatican will do something about this."
The Pope sits down next to Jimmy. "When was your last confession?"
Jimmy stares at the Pope confused. "Sir?"
"Under our law whatever anyone says in the confessionals is confidential, which means whatever you say to me stays between us," the Pope explained as Jimmy caught on where the holiness was going with this. "So tell me my son, what is it you want to tell me?"
Jimmy breathed in and exhaled before he explained. "Okay, here goes."
Titan's tower (8:00 am)
Raven begins to wake up as she opens her eyes to see Anna lying next to her. It brought a smile to her face, but it soon disappeared when she saw the medical equipment attacked to her girlfriend. Soon the memories of last night came back and she remembers what happened. She grips the covers tightly as she fights back the tears.
She moves her arm around Anna and holds her close. "I won't let you die, I promise."
She then noticed her body is beginning to glow. She removes the sheets and gasped when she saw the markings on her body beginning to glow.
"No," she said knowing that today is the day the prophecy must be fulfilled.
That means if she doesn't give her answer before midnight, then Anna will die. She looks over at the phone and sees a text message has been left. She grabs it and soon she felt a small tear fall down her face. She wiped it away and puts the phone back on the desk.
She gets off the bed and realizes now what she has to do. She turns back towards her girlfriend and whispered quietly.
"I'm sorry," she then uses her powers to teleport out of the room and towards the roof.
The sun begins to rise as Raven looks at her hands. She sees her body is still glowing with the mark. "What am I going to do now?"
"Raven?" she turns around to see Robin walking towards her. "Are you okay?"
She covers her body with the cloak. "Y-yeah, I mean no not really."
Robin stops next to her. "Let me guess, Anna?"
She nods sadly. "Did you guys find anything?"
He shook his head and lowered his head with a disappointed look. "We looked for any kind of cure for this poison. Starfire even left to go home to talk to anyone she knew who could help, but found nothing. I'm sorry, I wish there was more we could do."
She could tell he was hurting and feels like he failed. She knows Robin and Anna had problems in the past, but they got past that after the others found out about Trigon. They put their differences aside to protect her from Slade and Trigon. Both became friends, but they still have some small problems.
"We'll save her," he said. "We won't let her die and we'll stop Trigon."
She didn't respond to that and just looks out at the sun. "Robin, can I ask you something?"
"What is it?" he asked turning towards her.
"If Slade poisoned Starfire, what would you do?" she asked.
He is surprised that she would ask him that, but he figures that she is still debating on what to do about Slade's offer for Anna's life. He could lie to her, but he knew she would tell if he was telling the truth.
So he decides to tell her the truth. "I would do what she would want me to do. I know she wouldn't want me to sacrifice the world just to save her. She would want me to keep everyone safe and not let the world fall into darkness. So, I would choose the world even if it means losing her."
She kept silent and could tell he was being honest. She knew Anna would want her to stay alive and not give up. But she knew she couldn't give up on trying to save her, especially since she knows where she is going when she dies. It has put her in a difficult position and she knows any choice she makes will be a bad one.
"Raven," she turns towards him. "What are you going to do?"
"I don't know," she lied. "I want to save her, but I know what will happen if I don't."
He places his hand on her shoulder and tries comforting her. "I know your worried, but don't worry we'll save Anna and we'll stop Trigon."
"How do you know?" she asked turning away from him. "How do you know everything is going to turn out okay?"
"Because, I have hope," he answered which surprised her. "I know Anna has hope in you, just like all of us. As long as we have hope, we have a chance of beating them."
She couldn't help but smile a little when he said that. The smile though went away after a few seconds when the text message she received earlier came into her thoughts.
"Do you mind leaving me alone for a bit?" she asked as she looks up at the sky. "I want to try meditating and see if I can find another way to save her."
He nods and heads towards the door. "If you need anyone to talk you know where to find me."
As he left she pulls out the medallion that Anna gave her. She remembers what it can do and how it has kept her safe from her father's influences. Since she got it she never took it off. She has kept it with her ever since Anna gave it to her and she knew it was the only thing that prevents her father from messing with her mind.
She begins to slowly take it off and could hear her father's voice speaking to her. She closed her eyes and appeared in the ruins of the city. She looks around and sees the sky is red like from her vision. Down in the city ruins the people are all stone with a horror looks on their faces.
"Daughter," she hears her father calling out to her as he appears with four red glowing eyes staring at her. "You have come at last."
"Trigon," she said in a dark tone with her eyes glowing red as well. "I want the antidote for Anna."
"Ah yes, your girlfriend," he began to chuckle. "I take it you have decided to agree to become the portal?"
"No," she answered in a demonic voice, before calming down and speaking normally. "I will only join, if you can prove to me that it works and you will spare the ones I love. If you do this then I will accept."
Trigon hesitated for a moment, but soon gave his answer. "Very well, I will spare your friends, but if they get in my way I will deal with them."
She nods and soon snapped out of her thoughts. She puts the medallion back on and phases down to the infirmary. She goes over to Anna and checks on her. Her condition hasn't changed and still looks ill.
She was about to remove the medallion again to speak with her father, when she hears Anna calling out for her.
"Raven," she turns towards her girlfriend and sees she is waking up. "Is that you?"
Raven noticed Anna's condition is slowly changing. She noticed her skin is less pale, but she still looked weak. Anna tried sitting up, but began coughing. Raven helps put her down on the bed gently.
"Rest, you're in no condition to move," she said putting the cover over her. "H-how are you feeling?"
"Still feel like crap," Anna replied, but then formed a small smile. "But seeing you here beside me makes me feel like a million bucks."
Raven chuckled a little glad to see Anna is feeling better, but then she noticed her condition stopped getting better. She assumes her father probably only gave her a bit of the cure. The rest she guesses will be given to her as soon as she goes with them to become the portal. This means she isn't out of the woods and can't risk letting the others even Anna know the truth.
"Raven," she snapped out of her thoughts when she hear Anna calling out to her. "You okay? Slade didn't hurt you after he attacked me, did he?"
Raven shook her head. "No, he just threatened me to become the portal or you'll die."
"From what?" Anna then remembered what Slade shot at her with. "Poison, but it still shouldn't have affected me this much."
"It was made to kill angels," Raven answered. "Good thing for you is it wasn't strong enough to kill you right there and then. I used a spell I found to help get rid of it, but you need to rest up."
"So you saved me huh? Wow, I guess it was your turn to save me huh?" Anna began giggling. "Did you carry me back like a princess?"
Raven playfully slaps her girlfriend on the arm. "You're lucky you're still sick otherwise I would have punched you."
"Someone likes it rough," Anna answered laughing, but then stops when she coughed up some blood. "I'm bleeding."
"No joke," Raven pulls out a wet rag and helps remove the blood from Anna's mouth. "Like I said, take it easy. By the end of the day you should be better."
"Good," Anna moves her hand up Raven's hand as the two gazed into each other's eyes. "Thank you for saving me and I'm sorry I ruined our date."
Raven begins to smile and holds Anna's hand. "You didn't, I had fun before Slade ruined it. It was the first time I felt well, normal. I never thought I would ever go on a date, much less with a girl. When I did it felt, right and I wanted the moment we had to never end."
Anna moves her other hand behind Raven's head and pulls them close until their foreheads are touching one another. "I'm glad to hear that and next time we go out we'll go somewhere where we won't be interrupted."
Raven almost clinched by what Anna said, but kept her cool. "Y-yeah, we can do that."
"Can I ask you something?" Anna asked. "Can a demon blood poison another demon?"
Raven stares at her confused. "I thought as an Angel you would know that kind of stuff."
"I didn't pay attention much to Demon anatomy," Anna replied scratching the back of her head. "So, I guess we can't kiss then?"
Raven giggles a little and moves her lips against Anna's as they kiss. The kiss soon turned to passion as she moves into the bed with her girlfriend. Anna tried to dominate, but due to her weak condition, Raven took control of the kiss. They broke it a minute later and Raven moves her head on her girlfriend's chest.
"I'm glad you're okay and I'm sorry I got you involved," said Raven.
Anna begins stroking her girlfriend's hair and kisses her on the head. "It's okay, I'm fine now and nothing is going to happen."
"Yeah, I hope so." Suddenly Anna's stomach begins growling. Raven gets off Anna and smiles. "Hungry?
Vatican
Jimmy finished telling the Pope everything. How Anna got poisoned by Slade through a vial that infected her. Slade told Raven she has 24-hours to become the portal or Anna will die. After finding this out he began working on trying to find a cure for their friend, but he couldn't find anything.
He send Raven a message earlier to let her know he couldn't find anything and that he is sorry. He also told the Pope the reason he didn't tell them earlier about this is because he was afraid the Vatican would be furious by Anna's failure and would send someone else to kill Raven.
"I'm sorry for not telling you sir," said Jimmy apologizing. "I wanted to tell you the truth, but I was afraid what would happen."
The Pope placed his hand on the young man's shoulder and smiles at him. "I understand and I can see why you lied. However, you still should have come to me about this sooner."
"I know," Jimmy replied. "So, you do know a way to save Anna?"
The Pope sighed and shook his head. "I'm afraid there is nothing we can do. This poison you described was made long before our time, so we don't have any way of creating a cure for it."
Jimmy sighed in disappointment as the last hope he had to save his friend was dashed away. "What do we do then? I'm afraid Raven might actually consider sacrificing the world to save Anna. If she doesn't then Anna will die and we know where she'll go. Your holiness, what do we do?"
The Pope got up from his seat and looks at a glass painting of Jesus. "Nothing."
Jimmy stares at the Pope surprised by his answer. "W-what do you mean, nothing?"
The Pope turns around to face Jimmy. "Long ago humanity fell prey to a disease that almost wiped out mankind. We survived because we endured and many of us worked together to bring the world out of darkness."
"What does that have to do with our situation, sir?" Jimmy asked.
The Pope begins explaining. "I read long ago that Raven is destined to bring Trigon into the world, but she is also destined to save our world."
"Wait a minute," Jimmy realized something. "Are you telling me that Raven is meant to destroy, but save our world? That doesn't seem to make much sense sir."
"It does for those who have faith," the Pope walks towards Jimmy and place his hand on his shoulder again. "We must believe that Anna will help Raven defeat Trigon and once she finds the power within her she will use that to save our world."
Jimmy could tell the Pope is being truthful and he seems to know what is going to happen. "All right, so what do we do then sir?"
"Nothing," the Pope replied. "We will do nothing and wait until this fight is over. So go out and enjoy this beautiful day and have some fun before the final battle for our world begins."
Jimmy nods in agreement and bows before the Pope. "Thank you sir."
The Pope pats the boy on the head softly and begins walking towards the door. "Oh and don't worry, if the other members find out I will deal with them."
"Okay, thank you," said Jimmy as he goes to get ready for the day. He sees his phone nearby and is about to call Raven, but if the Pope is right then he can't tell her what he knows. "Anna, if you do live through this then please help her get through this."
Anna is awake and it looks like she doesn't know about the deal her girlfriend made with Trigon. What will happen when she finds out? Will she try to stop Raven? Will the others try to stop her?
Is the Pope right about Raven destined to stop Trigon? Will Anna take place in the fight against Slade? And what will happen when the final battle begins? Find out next time to see what happens.
