My writing habits have definitely gone weird, stuff is coming randomly right now.
This chapter was strangely written without change unlike my other stories.
I got halfway through two different chapters before changing to this one in the end.
My mind really has gone to mush this past week or so.
Anyway, i hope you like this chapter after nearly a month from the last one.
I slowly open my eyes to see a reddy-purple sky that was blurred. My body was falling, falling for an eternity. No sign of stopping, no sign of increasing or decreasing it velocity. An endless drop. My body was still there, even fixed by it was distant. I couldn't feel my own body, couldn't flex my muscles or wiggle my fingers. There was only a sense of weightlessness as my body just continued to drop through the empty void.
"So you have awoken Neko."
My own voice hits my ears but I hadn't uttered those words. I looked round as much as I could from the stationary fall but I couldn't see a thing until a body moved into my view almost like it felt sorry for me. The body was like a shadow, a black outline of a person but it had actual eyes that weren't black. It's eyes were a deep purple but despite being a different colour it was like I was looking at my own eyes in the mirror.
The shadow moved backwards but stayed within my vision to show me it's whole body, a body which felt like it was mine. It was a fleeting feeling, I'm not sure but I can't help but think it.
"You nearly died back then ya know?"
I didn't reply to my voice, it was more like I couldn't. I couldn't control my body at all let alone answer the voice. All I had was sight, hearing and that endless sense of weightlessness.
"To think you are still alive, it's an impressive feat you performed. Stopping the Welsh Dragon during it's own unique form of malice. Rather remarkable really."
The voice spoke like the Juggernaut Drive was similar to something else, something familiar to me.
"You even allowed yourself to be corrupted by it. To think it would allow me to actually talk to you, could it be considered a godsend I wonder?"
Now i'm just getting confused. Is the voice intentionally doing this or what?
"It's time for you to leave Neko. It'll be the day of your wedding when you wake."
The voice seems to get further and further away from me. Seconds pass by after the voice finished before my eyes just forced themselves shut.
…
My eyes opened again to a vaguely familiar ceiling. Looking around the lavishly equipped room, I see furniture of white colour with a crimson finish and accenting. Roses were set in a vase next to the bed I was currently lying on. I sat up in the bed feeling no pain at all, it was an eerie feeling. It was like the dream if you count out the weightlessness. I knew the bed beneath me was soft but I couldn't say how soft, I couldn't feel it on my skin.
"A close call huh?"
I absent-mindedly spoke the words that were on my mind. I had a brush with death once again although I didn't succumb to it this time, I also knew it was coming this time though. Shifting my body round so I could sit on the end of the bed I found my body slightly uncomfortable and dressed in just a pair of pyjama bottoms. Stretching out my body I felt the muscles in my arm readjusting waking themselves up.
Bringing my right hand to my mouth I tried my best to stifle a yawn but I failed in doing so.
"I guess I should go tell everybody i'm awake."
Standing up from the bed I let my magic wash over my body changing myself into a loose silver hooded jumper and a pair of baggy black jeans along with a pair of black and white sneakers. Walking to the door slowly still feeling slightly tired, I felt an oddity within my body. Placing my hand on the doorknob, I understood the oddity. Something had been lifted from my body, a weight of some sort. A previous block had been lifted but it was vague. I couldn't tell what it was or how much of it had been relieved.
I twisted the doorknob and exited the room to a quiet and empty hallway on a wing of the mansion that I was currently in. I looked to my left and then to my right and then to my left once again. I was in the Gremory Mansion, it was a comfortable homey place. The affection trait of Gremory seemed to just flow through the actual house itself, I could feel it filling my body as I walked down the hallway straight towards the main hall of the castle. Passing by multiple maids and butlers who all wore a smile on their faces I smiled back to them.
The walk through the castle was pleasant, I could feel my bones and muscles revelling in the very light exercise and getting back to being used after days of idleness. Upon approach to the main hall I found Lord Gremory and Sirzechs talking to each other, once I came into the hall itself they picked my signature up and look to me with relieved smiles.
"You are finally awake Gin-kun. Rias-chan will be happy to hear that."
I smiled in reply to Lord Gremory briefly before opening my mouth to speak.
"How is Issei?"
"He's fine now. He awoke shortly after you fell unconscious."
This time Sirzechs spoke to me, a sense of relief washed over me as I heard that. I wouldn't have to tell Okaa-sama that I couldn't protect Issei.
"Good, where are they all?"
"They are all in Rias-chan's meeting room. I'll have a servant take you there."
I nodded to Sirzechs and then followed the maid that was called to take me to the meeting room.
I was walking through the hallways once again but this time I was taken up the stairs by the maid before doing so. The halls themselves had not changed in the slightest but there was more hustle and bustle from the servants making me think that this floor had more people occupying it than the one I woke up in. Thankfully the maid didn't try to strike up a conversation, we remained in peace up until the door to the meeting room.
We stopped outside it and the maid knocked loudly on the door twice before slowly pushing open the door for me. It slowly creaked open allowing the light from the room to leak out onto my and the hallway. Taking a light breath I stepped into the room to see Rias and everyone else in the peerage sitting together on the chairs looking towards me with cards in their hands.
Once my body came into view properly for everyone in the room, I saw Rias drop her cards to the table and rush over to me wrapping me into a hug before she could say anything. I felt her body shaking out of pure relief, I could hear her sniffle as small tears were coming out of her eyes. Her head was buried into my right shoulder.
"Baka! You could have died."
I felt slightly hurt being called a Baka by Rias but I couldn't help but let it go for some reason. I felt compelled to allow her this hug, I even felt like hugging her back and I did albeit hesitantly. Lightly wrapping my arms around Rias' back, I brought my left hand to the back of her head and ruffled her hair lightly.
"I'm sorry for worrying you Rias-chan."
The hug stayed from then on but nothing else came from her. Everyone else in the peerage kind of just looked past it knowing Rias was now happier. I spoke with everyone from that stationary position to learn nothing at all really. There were no survivors from the end of the battle, well survivors left behind of course. The wounded had been teleported away, the fact that they were teleported rather than teleporting themselves make me feel a little odd about it. I feel like there will be a second attack by them or it was someone from another faction taking them back to use their saved lives as a way to have them fight for their faction in the future. There was something ominous there.
Apparently Azazel got chewed out by absolutely everyone bar Serafall who already knew and was still in a sleepy daze from pregnancy. The wedding had also been put on hold after I had shown no sign of waking up yesterday so I wondered if it was still to happen today, it didn't take long for the news to spread around the Underworld that I woke up and for the wedding to be put back on track for today as well. That left me with around 7-8 hours of getting ready but that also left me with a problem, despite marrying Serafall that didn't mean the wedding was gonna be a big happy one with no complaints of any kind. The nobles very much disliked me and for good reason i'd say, I haven't been very pleasant with them but I also don't intend to change that and be nice with them that is unless they are kind to me and my race from now on.
To expect it to be a normal wedding where no devils would irritate me in anyway was non-existent, there was no point even trying to make myself believe that the others are ok with what's going on. From a paper's point of view this wedding is strictly Devil/Fallen Angel to help solidify the peace treaty but to the devil nobles it's a Maou marrying an 'outlaw'. Two dramatically different things but are actually identical.
…
The sight of the wedding was well within the Leviathan territory and it was an open event, anyone could go as long as you were a devil or a fallen angel. Then of course there was the VIPs which race didn't matter with. On either side of the field was two recently built buildings that were nothing great but plenty big enough for a changing room, more like a living room for an average families house. Connecting these two small buildings was a long rectangular stage that was a metre above the ground then scattered around were large screens which would broadcast the event, there were also screens in each capital to show the wedding for the people who couldn't make it.
It was a grand affair, of course it was. Even if the nobles didn't like the fact Serafall was marrying me a Nekoshou, she was getting married nevertheless which is a monumental moment for devils as the Maous are important and popular figures for the whole race regardless. They made sure that this was an event befitting of Serafall's stature.
As per normal marriages I was the first to appear in front of everyone as the male and groom. After an initial row with some of the devils who were sent to help me dressed I was happy and letting it be known. I was wearing a black tuxedo with a black tie that was my own because I would not wear the bow tie. My hair was now relaxed after being fussed about with for nearly half an hour, thank god for being a light sleeper at times. The two female assisstants pinned my hair up but it was too long for that, tied it up in a pony tail but it didn't work for me and then tried being left to free-flow down my back but that didn't work for them so then came a question, 'Can we cut your hair?' It was a question I didn't really care that much about mainly because as a Youkai it'll grow back to it's length again in a day or so, i'm fine with short hair for this and so that's what happened. My hair was cut and then styled to try and portray my youth i'd say. My hair was cut to just past my shoulder which was practically half it's original length, thinned out, my two bangs on either side of my face were shortened as well and curled ever so slightly to follow my jaw line over my cheek. My hair was placed behind my left ear leaving it to be seen by all and a parting came at the left side of my fringe placed under my bang and behind my ear, the rest of my fringe was then left free reaching about the tip of my nose and framing my right eye leaving a few strands to try and cover it but unsuccessfully. The remainder of my hair was then brought from behind my back and placed over my right shoulder.
To say that the two female assistants did their job well was a bit of an understatement if you were to take in the reaction plus the actual fact that I really liked the look. It was nothing flashy but it was sleek and easy to deal with, perfect for me. It was a hairstyle that i'd be happy to keep. As I walked onto the stage attracting everyone's attention and a series of wolf whistles, that I just instinctual knew that were started by Asahi and Azazel, I folded over the cuffs of the tuxedo making it into my own style as I like to have free movement in my wrists. From there it was a series of applause until I took my spot in the centre of the stage with Michael who was taking the position of priest ironically. His involvement here does bring the Angel side of things into play, well for those who don't understand my Lunar Gear.
The whole place was then quiet for the next minute or so as we waited for Serafall to make her appearance, the lights in the area all cut off leaving the area in darkness. The faint clang of a heel tapping against the floor hit my ear causing it to twitch slightly and at the exact same second a spotlight turned on gazing down at Serafall showing her off to everyone watching. I was left speechless as soon as I saw her, I could even hear my heart beating faster. Looking at her right now there are no doubts in my mind that she truly is the 'most beautiful devil'. Her entrance was much more spectacular than mine, hers left the audience speechless just like myself. Both in awe of her beauty and the change of style, this situation didn't fit with her usual childish nature so she took to her serious and mature persona. She wore a pristine white A-line dress, had her raven black hair let loose down against her back with a white hair-band adorning the top of her head. With each step she took I could see her more clearly, just looking at her makes me feel incredibly lucky. She is strong and beautiful yet I didn't have to do a thing to get her, she actually had to do a few things for me. It's somewhat ironic, I was in the lower position all the way from the start and I held the cards but now, looking at her I feel like the cards were unneeded. I was just sating my own thirst, I had just carried on the hatred and now held onto the burden of their deaths but as cold as it sounds I didn't care.
Serafall stopped about a meter in front of me and wore a relaxed smile that gave off a tired vibe. I replied back with a smile of my own. Michael looked to both of us with his usual soft smile and began talking addressing the audience.
"On behalf of the bride and groom I would like to thank you for making it here today and taking time out of your day to watch these two beautiful people become wedded through matrimony."
Then Michael bowed to everyone from beside us briefly before speaking once again.
"As per every relationship there were hardships though for these two it came from the off. Tsukiyomi Gin was hesitant as he was sceptical towards Serafall Leviathan's playful nature and vibrant personality. The relationship between them went from there and Serafall showed her resolve and proved to Gin that not everyone is mean and that there are some people, much like herself, that are nice people and will love him for who and what he is not hate him for it."
"This marriage ultimately started as a way to form peace between the three factions with Serafall Leviathan as a Maou of the Devils and Tsukiyomi Gin, a cadre of the Fallen Angels and possessor of the Lunar Gear, the Right Hand of God. The reason for choosing these two was because there was something special between them, myself, Sirzechs Lucifer and Azazel saw that very clearly. Happily for all sides it went smoothly leading up to this day which was very nearly postponed due to heroics from Gin that i'm sure everyone here is aware of."
Michael then gave a slight pause to allow the attendees to remember what had transpired with the attack from the Khaos Brigade, traitor from Astaroth and Issei Hyoudou the Sekiryuutei activating Juggernaut Drive resulting in both Issei and I to nearly lose our lives.
"Now it is time to ask the bride and groom the all important question."
"Tsukiyomi Gin, do you take Serafall Leviathan to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
I kept my eyes locked onto Serafall as I summoned the two rings to hand, the ones I got back, the rings of my deceased parents.
"I do."
I answered Michael with a smile and no hesitation, I then slipped the polished cobalt band around my finger.
"Serafall Leviathan, do you take Tsukiyomi Gin to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
Serafall answered Michael in the same manner I did with a matching smile. Upon hearing her agreement, I slipped the final ring onto her own finger.
"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
I took a single step closer to Serafall and took both of her hands loosely into mine and slowly moved my face towards her. As her smile starts to widen I kiss her on the lips eliciting the crowd to begin clapping in congratulations.
…
Gin's Subconscious
A pair of purple eyes lazily float around the nothingness of the area while be followed a silver shining light. The eyes didn't seem to care that it was being followed, it was more like the eyes were inviting it and wanting the light to continue following it.
"Who are you and why are you in the Guardian's subconscious?"
The purple eyes continued to float around even after the sound of Dragonrend's voice.
"I am simply an inhabitant here just like you."
The silver light stopped abruptly causing the eyes to do the same, except the eyes turned around to look at the light in anticipation of what it would do or say next.
"Why do you sound like the Guardian?!"
The eyes were slightly surprised by the sudden loud and angry tone of Dragonrend.
"We are one in the same, though you could say I'm not him as well."
"Then do you have a name?"
The eyes then widened themselves to show a happy look to make up for the lack of a mouth to smile with.
"My original name isn't as much a name so I've always referred to myself as something else. You, Dragonrend, may call me Lambda."
And there it is done. I'm sure that some of you will figure out what and who Lambda is, maybe even where he is from.
The particular game he is from can also give insight into what he is in this story as it is pretty similar.
Small portions on Lambda will crop up every now and again but it'll be a while before something comes from it.
Then it is the wedding itself, something that's been in my mind for a while. Both in and out of writing because I'm personally going through the planning of one myself. Nevertheless, it's a small reason for my slower updates but not the thing i can complain or blame. As it obviously wouldn't be a Christian wedding because of the devils i wondered how the devils would actually have a wedding. From what i know and remember a huge part of weddings, well weddings i've been to is sermons and reading from the bible. That wouldn't work so i thought that it wouldn't last that long at all given the shortness to the wedding itself and more emphasis on other things in this chapter.
Yes, Gin has another look change. This look is something i wanted to implement in a story for a while now, originally it was going to be a new story but i thought no it didn't go too well with that character so i gave it to Gin and it works well from what i can imagine and barely draw. The new story will still be created although it will definitely be in the future and i will force myself to not produce a chapter until at least the summer so i can focus on the stories i already got. But just for your information, that story will have an overly OP character probably even god-like if i make the character want to do that. While i know OP has became a sort of norm here even within my own stories the focus will be on his relationships and the lack of a harem. More of a information story from me describing each and everything while i try to make each battle as spectacular as possible while bringing back a character favourite of mine.
I'll see you all next time, Ciao-nya.
Edit: For those who want to see what i chose for the hair you can search Karasuma Yukito. He is a character in Glass Heart Princess.
