"Romantic comedy or action?" I asked Erica over the phone, walking out of my car. I was having a movie might with Erica, instead of watching Twilight, I went to the video shop.
"Tough call...can you get one with all three?" She asked.
I laughed. "I'll see if I can find any."
"Thanks. You're the best!"
"Of course I am," I smiled, "I'll see you when I get there." I hung up.
I searched the isles, looking for something that might interest Erica and I.
"Can somebody help find me 'The Notebook'?" I heard a familiar voice. Looking up from the shelves, I saw Jackson Whittemore. I shook my head, then the store phone started ringing and ringing. "Hello? Is anybody working here?"
"I'm not sure," I said, walking up behind him.
"You have got to be kidding me," he muttered.
I froze when I saw a pair of feet sticking out from one of the isles. Jackson started to walk closer so I followed, quickly checking the surroundings.
When we made it to the isle, I gasped when I saw the clerk with this throat ripped out.
Suddenly the lights turned off. I spun to see Jackson who had knocked the ladder over which caused the lights to flicker. He as staring right behind me as we heard growling. I didn't bother to turn around, I already knew the alpha was in the building.
I slowly took a step forward, before dashing behind an isle.
I flinched when some of the DVDs fell to the ground, then as well as some shelves.
I got on my hands and knees and started crawling away from noise. When I got to the end of the isle, I heard the sound of huffing from in front of me. Gulping, I looked up. I gasped, seeing the Alpha in front of me.
It growled, its red eyes piercing through my brown ones. It sniffed me and then roared. After that, it just ran off.
I have a feeling it won't be the last time I see it.
"Madison!" I heard someone yell. Glancing to my left I found my parents, Allison and Kate rushing over to me. I rolled my eyes. Great, the whole gang is here. "Are you okay?" Dad asked, checking me over, making sure I was all right.
I opened my mouth to reply, but I was cut off by the E.M.T. "She's fine, not a scratch. She's just in shock." The last part was a lie.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Can I go home?"
After I gave my statement to Sheriff Stilinski, I was allowed to go.
"Hey, Madison and I will you meet you's at the car," Kate said.
My sister narrowed her eyes slightly, glancing at all of us, before walking back to Dad's car, my parents were hesitant as well.
I sighed, looking back to her.
"Were you bitten? Scratched?" Kate asked, sounding like she was concerned.
I glared slightly at her. "Don't act like you care," I hissed, beginning to walk away, but she reached out and grabbed my wrist tightly.
"Were you?" She pressed on.
"Why do you want to know?" I rolled my eyes. "Are you going to cut me in half if I have been?" I whispered.
"When are you going to get over that?"
I ripped my hand from her and began walking over to Dad's car.
"What was that?" Allison asked.
"Nothing," I muttered.
I got off my bed, throwing the sheets off me.
Opening up one of the draws on her dresser, I picked up a jewellery box, then walked out of my room and into Allison's.
I knocked twice, waiting for her to answer.
"Come in."
I opened the door and found putting some stuff in her school bag.
"I have something for you," I smiled brightly, handing her the small rectangular box.
She playfully narrowed her eyes at me, before opening it up. A smile was plastered on her face. She picked up the silver, heart locket necklace. She opened the locket part and her smile grew. It was a picture of her and I when we were younger.
"You like it?" I quizzed.
"Mads, I love it," she said softly.
I smiled and wrapped my arms around her. She returned the hug, squeezing me tightly.
"Happy birthday," I whispered.
Moments likes these, I will cherish forever.
Since I had the whole day off from the 'shock', I decided to go for a walk in the woods. Erica had called me after Allison left for school, saying she was so sorry about last night. It wasn't even her fault, I was just there at the time. I guess now I don't have to hide the bruise Derek gave, although it was slowly going away. Then Natalie had called to tell me she was getting me drunk at her birthday party this week. We'll see about that.
I stopped walking when I found a meadow. To be honest, it was so beautiful. Fresh, new flowers were blooming everywhere. I sat down in the middle of the area.
I examined a dying flower and put my hands beside it. Closing my eyes, I concentrated, feeling a warmth flow through my body. When I opened my eyes and removed my hand, I smiled softly at the blooming yellow daisy.
"You're a witch?" Derek's voice made me jump. I looked up and saw him standing a couple metres away from me.
"Were you following me?" I asked.
Derek walked closer and sat down next to me. "How can you be a witch?" He ignored my question.
"How can you be a werewolf?" I shot back. He gave me an annoyed look, but I just ignored it. "Why are you here?"
"What happened last night?" He asked.
I sighed, biting my bottom lip. "The alpha attacked the clerk–clawed his throat."
He nodded. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "I wasn't hurt."
I was about to say more but Derek's mouth was covering mine. I froze, not knowing what to do. He pulled back, his shifted blue. Those eyes instantly brought me back to the other night.
"Derek, you're hurting me," I cried out, trying to pry his hand off my throat.
He just growled, applying more pressure.
I mentally shook those thought away, and pulled Derek closer, smashing my lips onto his.
Using what body weight I have, I pushed myself onto him, pushing him to the ground, straddling his waist. I closed my eyes and continued kissing him.
My hands slid down his chest and under his dark t-shirt. My fingertips ran over the bumps of his abs. I smiled when I felt his stomach clench.
He bit my lip, silently asking for entrance. I declined, continuing to kiss him. I felt his growl as his hands travelled to my hips and squeezed them. He probably thought that would do something to me, but it didn't.
"You didn't have to walk me to my car," I told Derek.
Something caught my eyes on the windshield. It was a white piece of paper. I grabbed it and flipped it over. A spiral was drawn on it.
"Everything okay?" Derek's voice ran through my ears.
"Yeah," I breathed out, folding the paper and shoving it in my back pocket. "Everything's fine." I gave him a small smile.
He nodded, walking to me. His arms circled around my waist, pulling me against him. "I'll see you later." He pressed his lips to mine.
I marched into the kitchen as soon as I got home. My parents and Kate were in there.
"What the hell did you do?" I accused, looking straight at Kate.
"Madison," Mum gasped.
"What are you talking about?" Kate quizzed.
I pulled out of the piece of paper, unfolded it and threw it on the Island bench. "It's a symbol for revenge. The Roycroft pack used it once. So I ask again, what did you do?"
"Where did you find this?" Dad asked.
"On my car windshield," I answered, "I'm not looking forward to being killed by the Alpha, but if it does happen I'm coming back to haunt you," I pointed at Kate. I know she did something, she always does something.
"And that's a promise," I sneered, snatching the paper
I put up a cork board in the space between my portrait shape windows. I then grabbed my photo album and flipped through some of the pictures. I pinned up a photo of my uncle, Alex, his wife, Julie, and I at their wedding day—then Allison and I when we were six and seven years old—and a selfie of Elijah and I. Oh how I miss him, but I need to move.
"Hey Mads," I heard my sister's voice.
"Hey," I greeted, pinning one more picture up. I turned to face her. "How was school?"
I noticed her blushing and avoiding eye contact. "I wasn't at school," she whispered.
"Did something happen?" I asked concerned. "Are you okay?"
"I skipped school," she said, glancing at me, waiting for my reaction.
I raised my eyebrows in disbelief. "You, Allison Argent, skipped school?" I chuckled. "Nice one."
"I'm serious!" She exclaimed, throwing her hand in the air dramatically, "And I can skip school, cause I did, with Scott, for the whole day." I squinted my eyes at her. "But now I'm grounded and can't see Scott."
Blinking a couple times, I stared at her before laughing.
"How was Dad's reaction?" I asked, grabbing her hand and pulling to my bed.
