As Jackson's body was taken away, I entered the locker room and walked up to Scott, Isaac and Sheriff Stilinski.

"I got to meet with the medical examiner and try to figure out what happened with Jackson. I've got an APB out on Stiles. His jeep is still in the parking lot, so that means...I don't know what that means. Look, if he answers his phone, if he answers his emails, if either one of you see him..."

"We'll call you," Isaac finished.

"Look, he's probably just freaked out from all the attention or something. We'll find him," Scott promised.

Mr. Stilinski nodded. "Yeah. Call me if you see him, okay." Then he started to walk off.

Then Coach Finstock walked over. "McCall, we need you on the field, okay? You know I can't put you on the field next season if you don't get your grades up."

"Yeah, I know, Coach."

"I mean, I know I yell a lot, but it's not like I hate you guys. I kind of hate Greenberg, but, you know, that's different. It's Greenberg. I'm just saying we...I need you on the team. Get your grades back up."

"I will," Scott assured him.

"I know," he said walking away.

"Is that everyone?"

I nodded. Then Scott ripped the locker door off.

"Okay," I whispered, looking at him with wide eyes.

"You're gonna find him by scent?" Isaac asked.

"Yeah, we both are."

"I could try and do a locator spell," I offered, grabbing a shirt from Stiles's locker.

"But how come you two get his shirt and I get a shoe?"

I cracked a smile, but it died down when I saw Scott look behind me.

Frowning, I turned around and saw Derek. I hadn't him since I yelled at him in the woods. Gosh, he looks–

"We need to talk," he said, his voice held no emotion. Someone stepped out behind him. It was Peter. Oh my god!

"All of us."

"Holy sh–"

"Madison!" Alex is here.

With wide eyes, I took a step back, only to bump into Isaac. I whined internally.

"Hi," I greeted him once he came into my view, moving to stand next to Isaac.

Then he frozen once he saw Derek and Peter. "Oh," he whispered.

"What the hell is this?" Scott asked, his eyes flicking back and forth to Derek and Peter.

"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw you talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station." Derek has a point.

"Okay, hold on. He threatened to kill my mum. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?"

"I'm gonna go with Scott on this one," Peter agreed. "Have you seen his mum? She's gorgeous."

Ew. "Shut up," Scott and Derek said together.

"Who is he?" Isaac asked.

"He's Peter, Derek's uncle. Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire, and Derek slashed his throat."

"Hi," he waved. "She shot me." He pointed to me.

"In my defence, I was going crazy," I said, crossing my arms.

"That's good to know," Isaac whispered.

"How is he alive?" Alex asked.

"Look, the short version is he knows how to stop Jackson. And maybe how to save him," Derek explained.

"Well, that's very helpful, except Jackson's dead."

"What?"

"Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field." I saw the surprised looks on the Hale's faces.

"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?" Isaac asked.

Because if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen."

"But why?" I asked.

"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out. And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing. Quickly."

I sighed, freezing as I heard a baby crying. I dropped Stiles's shirt, it landed on the floor with a soft thud. "Do you hear that?"

"Heard what?" Scott asked me.

I opened my mouth to speak, but Alex cleared his throat. "Maddie, can we talk?" I nodded. "Alone."

I exited the locker room with him. We began walking to my car.

"What's up?" I asked.

He scanned the car park, before talking. "I had a vision." I raised my eyebrows, fully confused on why he was telling me this. "I heard a baby crying. And there was you."

"Are you saying–? Is that even possible?" I quizzed with wide eyes. I missed my period by five days. "This can't be happening!" I'm pregnant. With Derek's child.

When I got home from the chemist, I walked straight into the bathroom, ignoring Dad. I ripped open the box and took out the test.

I quickly peed on the stick, then put it aside.

After washing my hands, I hid the test in my coat, before walking out of the room.

"I saw the lights flicker," I heard Dad say from Allison's room.

"Probably just one of our guests getting comfortable downstairs." We have guests? "Get some sleep if you can. I have a feeling the next 24 hours are going to be eventful."

"You gonna tell me what happened at the game?" Dad asked.

"Didn't you hear? We won." I scoffed.

"I meant Jackson," Dad clarified.

"So did I."

That's when I came into their view. "Jackson died." I saw Gerard glare at me. "Used his claws to kill himself. Then Stiles went missing." My eyes glowed purple as I clenched my jaw. "You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?" I took a step closer to Gerard. "Because if I find out you laid a hand on him, you won't know what's coming."

I broke the contact and walked back to my room, slamming my door. Sighing, I checked the time. Two minutes had already been up. I took the test out and it said 'positive'. 2 weeks pregnant.

A couple minutes later, I met up with Dad at the basement door. Then we entered. I gasped when I saw Erica and Boyd hanging from the ceiling. Electricity was running through them.

"You know, my family's done this for a long time. Long enough to learn things, like how a certain level of electric current can keep you from transforming." That's nice. "At another level, you can't heal. A few amps higher, and no heightened strength. That kind of scientific accuracy, it makes you wonder where the line between the natural and the supernatural really exist."

His fingers hovered over the knob as I could their heavy breathing. "It's when lines like that blur... You sometimes find yourself surprised by which side you end up on." He hesitated, but turned the switch off. Then he walked out.

I walked over Erica, and took off the tape and ripped the wires off. She sighed in relief. Then I did the same to Boyd.

"Why are you helping us?" He asked.

"Because I'm not a bad person. Now let's get out of here." We quietly walked up the steps, checking down the halls for Gerard or Allison.

I ushered them out of the house, giving them a hug before getting in my car and driving off to the ironworks.

As soon as I got there, Dad's car was parked in front of me. I got out of mine just when Isaac got out of the backseat.

"I think he stopped moving."

I rushed over to him. "Why was he moving in the first place?"

"He's turning into something that has wings." Oh my...

"Where's Derek?" Dad asked.

I turned my head to see Derek running towards us on his hands and feet. Why do werewolves run like that? Then he did a front flip. Looking up at us, his eyes glowed red. Show off.

"I'm here for Jackson," Dad said as he stood up. "Not you."

"Somehow, I don't find that very comforting." He glanced over to Isaac and Scott. "Get him inside."

When we moved inside the ironworks, Isaac placed the body bag on the ground.

"Were are they?" Scott asked.

"Who?" Derek quizzed, looking around.

"Peter and Lydia."

Derek didn't say anything, only advanced towards Jackson. He started to unzip the bag.

"Whoa, hold on," Scott started. "You said you knew how to save him."

"We're past that."

"What about...?"

"Think about it, Scott! Gerard controls him now. He's turned Jackson into his own personal guard dog. And he's set all of this in motion so that Jackson could get even bigger and more powerful."

"No," Dad interrupted. "No, he wouldn't do that. If Jackson's a dog, he's turning rabid, and my father wouldn't let a rabid dog live."

"Of course not." I jumped and spun around to see Gerard standing a couple meters away from me. "Anything that dangerous, that out of control, is better off dead."

Hearing a gasp behind me, I turned to see Jackson stabbing Derek in the chest with his claws. Lifting him up in the air, he stood up and threw Derek into another room.

"Well done to the last, Scott. Like the concerned friend you are, you brought Jackson to Derek to save him. You just didn't realise that you were also bringing Derek to me."

An arrow whizzed through the air and hit Isaac in the shoulder, knocking him to the ground.

"Allison?" I asked in disbelief.

I backed away, hiding behind a pillar.

I watched as Dad began to shoot at Jackson who ran behind the SUV. He then roared, jumping on the car. In the kanima form, his tail whipped out and curled around the gun Dad was holding. The kanima threw it away. Then Dad ran in the opposite direction, going for his knife. I peeked my head out further as Derek flipped over a crate, fully shifted, growling at the kanima who hissed right back.

Watching Derek, Scott and Isaac fight against the kanima kind of made me want to join them, but if the kanima seriously hurt me I might not heal from it.

I snapped back into reality when I heard someone get stabbed. Looking up, I saw Allison slashing Isaac with her daggers. I got out of hiding, running towards her.

"No, Allison!" Scott yelled.

Suddenly a clawed hand wrapped around my throat. Next to me, I saw the kanima with its other hand around my sister's neck.

"Not yet, sweetheart," I heard Gerard's venomous voice.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"He's doing what he came here to do," Scott answered.

"Then you know."

"What is he talking about?"

Gerard looked back and forth to Scott and Allison. "It was the night outside the hospital, wasn't it, when I threatened your mother. I knew I saw something in your eyes. You could just smell it, couldn't you?"

"He's dying," Isaac spoke.

"I am. I have been for a while now. Unfortunately, science doesn't have a cure for cancer yet. But the supernatural does." He looked down at Derek.

The grip around my neck tightened, making me gasp for air.

"You monster," Dad said with nothing but disgust.

"Not yet."

"What are you doing?" Allison asked once again.

"You'll kill them, too?" Dad sounded so broken.

"When it comes to survival, I'd kill my own son!"

"Scott," he urged on.

The young beta shifted back to human and went to pick up Derek by the back of his neck.

"Scott, don't. You know that he's gonna kill me right after. He'll be the alpha."

"It's true, but I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott? He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together. You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love."

I had to do something. "Scott, don't! If Derek dies, then I will too." He looked at me with wide eyes. "Do you really think Allison will be happy when her sister is dead?" I gasped for air again.

"I'm sorry," he said. "But I have to."

Scott bent Derek's head back, forcing him to open his jaw. Gerard finished rolling up his sleeve and placed his arm in Derek's mouth. He bit down on Gerard arms, responding with scream.

I gasped as my ex-boyfriend hit the ground with a soft thud.

Gerard raised his arm up with victory, praising that he got the bite. Then black blood started leaking out of the wound. What the...? My jaw dropped.

"What?" He asked, noticing our facial expressions. Turning his arm around, he saw the blood. "What is this? What did you do?"

"Everyone said Gerard always had a plan. I had a plan, too," a small smile sneaked onto his face.

Gerard fumbled to get his tin case of pills. Taking them out, he started whispering. "No, no, no." He crushed the pills. "Mountain ash!" More black blood began to leak out of his eyes, nose, ears and mouth.

I coughed, looking away.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek asked Scott.

"Because you might be an alpha, but you're not mine."

"KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!" Then he fell to the ground, not moving.

I elbowed the kanima in the face, causing it to stumble back. Allison and I ran over to Dad just as it began to lunge, but a car ran threw the wall, hitting Jackson.

"Did I get him?" I heard Stiles' voice. A smile made its way onto my face.

The kanima started to climb onto the jeep, hissing at the trio. Stiles, Lydia and Cassie rushed out of the car.

"Jackson," Lydia breathed out. "Jackson." She held up a key.

The kanima cocked its head, inspecting it. My jaw dropped as he began it change back, taking the key in his hand. Jackson took a few steps back from her, holding out his arms. He knew he was going to die. Derek and Peter ran forward and stuck their claws in Jackson, lifting him up in the air. When they released him, Lydia caught him before he fell to the ground.

"Do you...do you still?"

"I do." She nodded rapidly. "I do still love you. I do, I do still love you. I do."

A few tears escaped my eyes as he died. She softly laid him on the ground.

"Where's Gerard?" Allison asked.

"He can't be far."

Lydia stood up and began to walk over her sister.

The sound of nail scraping against the concrete causing us to face Jackson. His eyes shot open, shifting icy blue, and stood up letting out a loud roar. He finally got what he wanted. Lydia ran to Jackson, hugging him tightly.

I heard sniffling next to me so I turned my head to look at Stiles.

"He scratched my jeep."

I chuckled, giving him a sad smile. Then I remembered Jackson was naked. Walking over to Dad's car, I opened the backpack and pulled out a pair of jeans, Dad's jeans, and gave them to Jackson. He smiled gratefully, and so did I.

"Do you hear that?" Scott asked, looking around the ironworks. "Someone else is here, I can hear their heartbeat." Oh no...

The exit was behind me so I took a couple steps back before turning around and walking away from the group.

"Maddie?" I heard him ask in disbelief.

I froze. Now I was caught. They probably all knew my secret. There was no way I could get out of this now. This isn't how I wanted people to find out.

Sighing, I continued walking, now ignoring Allison's call.

I finished brushing my teeth, I stood in front of my mirror. I frowned, turning on my side. Lifting up my top to show my stomach, I placed a hand on my flat stomach. I could just feel a slight bump. I cracked a small smile.

Pulling my top down, I left my room, bumping into Dad. The tears immediately started to over flood and he pulled me in for a hug.

"I didn't want this. I'm too young, I haven't even graduated high school. But I can't get rid of it." I shook my head, pulling away from Dad to wipe my tears. "Are you angry?"

"At first I was, but you're my daughter, you'll always be my daughter. You'll get through this, I promise." Dad and Allison had retired from being hunters which honestly made me feel a lot better.

Dad and I entered Allison's room as Scott was walking out. He and I sat down next to her, wrapping our arms around each other. She rubbed her hand over my stomach, feeling the tiny bump.

"I'm sorry," she whispered.

"Don't worry," I lightly shook my head. "It wasn't you. I forgive you."

"How far along are you?" She whispered.

"Two weeks." A small smile made its way onto my face. "I love you guys."

I walked through the woods, to the old Hale House. Cassie had messaged me, saying that she needed my help on something. To be honest, I didn't really want to see Derek I hadn't seen him since last night at the ironworks. We haven't talked.

"What do you need my–" I stopped talking when I saw a black sign on the door. It look similar to the triskele tattoo on Derek's back, but this sign was more edgier and sharp.

"Go touch it," I heard Peter say.

My head snapped over to him, narrowing my eyes. "Why do you want me to touch it?"

"Just to see if you can get a vision."

I nodded, trying to ignore everyone's eyes on me as I walked up the steps of the house. I had a feeling they were listening to the tiny heartbeat inside me.

"It sounds funny," I heard Isaac whisper. There it is again! The supernatural hearing.

"I can here you," I told him.

Raising my hand, I put it over the black sign. I expected to get pulled into a vision, but that didn't. Nothing happened.

"I got nothing," I said, turning to face them. Walking closer, I stopped next to Cassie. "But, uh, to satisfy my curiosity, who's sign is this?"

"The alpha pack." I saw Derek give Peter a glare.

How does that even work? A pack of alphas. I hummed, but didn't say anything.

"Can you help me with something?" I asked Derek and Peter.

My ex-boyfriend nodded.

"I can hear things, not in the crazy way. I can hear your heartbeats, I can hear water splashing from a lake nearby, I even heard Gerard threatening Isaac at the lacrosse game, and that was on the other side of the school."

Derek frowned, looking confused, while Peter looked like he had the answer.

"What is it?" I quizzed, seeing the look on his face.

"It's going to be a werewolf."

"I had a feeling it would be," I said, sighing. "But why do I have the advanced hearing? I'm not a werewolf."

"How many weeks?" Cassie asked from besides me.

"Two," I answered in a small voice.

"You can't be two weeks," Peter said. Huh? "Werewolf babies take about five months instead of the whole nine." It still felt like he wasn't telling me something.

I sighed, my eyes glancing over to Isaac who was concentrating on his hearing and staring at my stomach.

I frowned. "I'm gonna go," I said, before retreating back to my car.

"Where are you going?" I heard Cassie ask.

"To buy some ice cream...and pickles." I don't even like pickles.
