A/N/: Next chapter will be better. I promise. I'm glad some of you liked the ice cream and pickles thing. My mum craved that when she was pregnant with me.

I don't think I could ever eat scrambled eggs ever again. But I could eat a lifetime supply of ice cream and pickles. It may not be a good combination, but it tastes better than cheese balls at the moment.

Allison was staring at me at the other side of the table.

"What?" I asked with a mouthful of ice cream and pickles.

"That's so gross," she muttered, although I heard her. "How can you eat that?"

"I don't know, but it's yum," I shrugged. "Are you going to Lydia's?" Cassie was going to explain everything to her. Allison was going over to help explain some things.

"Yeah, I'm leaving in five minutes." I nodded, standing up and putting away my food, then taking a glass of water.

I entered my room and jumped when I saw Derek sitting at the end of my bed. We hadn't talked about any of this so I assumed that was why he was here.

"Hi," I whispered, sitting next to him.

"You said you were on birth control," was his way of greeting.

"I was," I said, nodding. "Apparently, it doesn't always work."

"Are you keeping it?" He still hadn't looked up from the floor.

"Yes."

That's when he looked at me. He looked like he had been crying or was about to. I didn't think I'd see the day when Derek Hale would cry.

"Do you want me to keep it?" I asked. He nodded, giving me a small smile. "I, uh, I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow morning for an ultrasound. Do you wanna come?"

"I'd like that," he said, nodding. "What time?"

"Eleven o'clock."

I laid down on my back, sighing. Derek copied my actions. "Do you think can be friends?"

I turned my head to look at him. "Yeah, I think it can work." I'm positive it can. I gave him a small smile.

I grabbed his hand and put it on my stomach. I watched as he started to smile, rubbing his thumb over the bump.

The next day, I got out of my car and met with Julie. As soon as I closed the drivers door, a few people stopped what they were doing and looked at me then glancing at my stomach.

"Don't worry about them," I heard Julie's soft comforting voice.

I nodded, walking into the coffee shop. I ordered an ice chocolate and Julie ordered black tea. When we sat down, she was telling me about first signs she had when she found out she was pregnant. It's was similar to me, except I haven't experienced morning sickness yet.

"What have you been craving? I craved a lot of fatty foods, still do sometimes."

"Ice cream and pickles." Julie scrunch her nose up. I laughed. "Allison pulled the same face yesterday."

"Is Derek going to be with you at the appointment?" I nodded, taking a sip of my iced chocolate.

It was 10:34am so I had half an hour to get to the hospital.

"Are you and him together?" She asked. Julie had always liked Derek and I as a couple.

"No, we're just friends. And I honestly think it can work because I don't see he and I as anything more," I told her.

"But you're mates. Don't you love him?"

I frowned, staring at the table. "I think I'll always love him. Derek was the first person I loved since Elijah died. But it's different now. We broke up and now I'm pregnant. I think it's a silly reason to get back together. Plus, he was the one who suggested that we should be friends."

"How'd your family take it when they found out you were pregnant? Or getting married to a warlock?" I asked.

She sighed, taking a sip of her drink. "It was bad. Really bad. My older brother actually beat up Alex when I told them I was pregnant, while my younger brother held me back. To this day, they won't talk to me."

"You chose Alex over your family?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "I did. Alex is the love of my life. He makes me feel complete." I smiled to myself. That's true love.

Four minutes left until my appointment. Derek wasn't here yet. I sat down on one of the plastic chairs, thinking. There's so much I have to get ready in four months. Lots of clothes, toys, a bassinet...other essentials. I won't know if it needs formula milk or breast milk.

"Madison." I jumped at Melissa's voice. In the corner of my eye I saw Derek sitting next to me. "Ready for the ultrasound?" I nodded.

"When did you get here?" I asked Derek as we stood up and began walking with Melissa.

"A couple minutes ago. You were in deep thought, so I didn't want to interrupt." I nodded, one of my hands rubbing the bump.

"Just take a seat there," Melissa guestured to the reclined chair.

When I got comfortable, she got out the gel. "It's going to be a little cold." I took in a deep breath before lifting up my shirt. The bump was looking bigger than last night. She squeezed some gel onto the ultrasound tool and connected it to my stomach. Looking at the screen, I instantly saw my baby. The sound of the heartbeat flooded my hearing.

Derek grabbed my hand and I squeezed it. I smiled, sparring him a glance.

"Do you want to know the sex?" She asked.

I turned my head to face Derek, waiting for him to reply. "It's up to you," he said softly.

I nodded, looking up at Melissa.

"It's a girl and it looks like you're 9 weeks."

My head snapped over to her. "What?" It's a girl? To be honest, I thought it would be a boy since in the vision I had Nathan was the oldest. Although it didn't matter to me. Derek and I were going to have a daughter.

"That's not the reaction I expected," she said, frowning slightly. "Is something wrong?"

"No," I shook my head. "Nothing's wrong. The test said I was 2 weeks." I licked my bottom lip. "I didn't expect her to grow so fast," I whispered.

"Oh...is that a...werewolf thing?"

I nodded, staring at the ultrasound screen. Squinting my eyes, I could see she was sucking her thumb. A smile stretched its way onto my face.

Dinner came around and it was my turn to cook. Back in San Francisco I bought a French cooking book. I felt like eating duck, so... I've never tried duck, but I thought why not? I was cooking duck breast with plumb sauce and mixed salad. For dessert there would be mixed berry sorbet. I was really looking forward to eating it.

Once I got all the ingredients out onto the kitchen bench, I inhaled the sweet and sour scents of the foods. It all smelt delicious.

"Are you sure don't need any help?" Dad asked from the kitchen threshold as I unfolded my reading glasses and out them on.

I laughed. "I'll call for help if I do. Although, I am a pretty good cook." I smiled, glancing at him then looking back at the book. "Where's Allison?"

"At Lydia's," he replied, walking further into the kitchen.

I nodded, preparing the plumb sauce.

"I can't wait until the food is ready." He was reading over the recipe.

"After gradation, I was thinking that we should go the France." His head shot up. "A lot has happened and I think we need a break, to get away from Beacon Hills for a while. France would be a great vacation."

"This is so delicious," Allison gushed, cutting into the duck. "Where'd you learn to cook like this?"

"I took cooking classes when we're living in San Francisco, also the book helped me," I chuckled.

That night felt like we were a normal family, and I savoured every moment of it. Although, Mum was missing from the picture, it still hurt seeing the empty chair where she used to sit, but hopefully one day that pain won't hurt as much.

When dinner and dessert was over and done with, I changed into a long sleeve pale, pink pyjama top and black shorts with pink flowers. After I finished brushing my teeth, I returned to my room and saw a small pure white gift bag placed at the foot of my bed.

Cocking my head to the side, I frowned in confusion. I walked over to the bag and peeked inside it, making sure there wasn't a bomb or something in it. –insert cheeky smile here–

It was a toy. I picked it up and examined it. A brown stuffed wolf. So cute. I picked up the note from in the bag.

The writing was familiar. "For our daughter," I read the note. I bit my lip to keep myself from breaking out a big smile. Sitting down, I put the note and toy wolf on the side, and took out the last thing. It was a striped pale pink and white jumpsuit.

I think Derek is looking forward to being a Dad.

I pulled up at the old Devereux home the next day. I needed answers so I thought about asking Miranda.

I started humming to a Relient K song to get rid of the silence. It was killing me. As I went to walk inside, an invisible barrier stopped me from entering the burnt building. Groaning, I knew the spirits had something to do with that.

"Let me in!" I pleaded, trying to get inside the house again. "Whether I'm pregnant with a werewolf baby or not, I'm still a Devereux! Please..."

"Why are you talking to yourself?" I yelped, spinning around to see who was there. Peter and Derek.

He gave my ex-boyfriend a look that I couldn't read. "See," he whispered. What are they talking about?

I frowned. "I was talking to the spirits. They won't let me inside."

"There's something Peter didn't tell you," Derek said, gritting straight to the point.

Peter sighed, but gave in. "You know how you can hear things far away?" I nodded. "Well, it's not because she's a werewolf." My raised my eyebrows for him to continue. "She's slowly turning you into one."

I think my heart sank to the ground. Oh my god! What's gonna happen when Dad and Allison find out?

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" I yelled at him. "There's more, isn't there?" I asked in a soft voice, before he could get a word out. He nodded, keeping eye contact.

As I was about to speak, in the corner of my eye I saw a flower growing out from the house. Turning my head, I stared at it. I lifted my hand to touch it, but as soon as I made contact with it, the flower instantly died, the petals fell to the ground. I did that. I brought my eyes back to them, my jaw slightly dropped. "I'm losing my powers."

Peter nodded. "You can't be both."
