Corruption Colour Bound Battle Chapter Fifty Three: Volcanic Mayhem
Frost's POV
Ack! That's one hell of an attack! Thank goodness that this bridge is made out of bedrock! That would've been the end of us! We spread ourselves out a good ten metres away from one another for the sole purpose of delaying it's deadly, punishing attacks that not even I could block.
I stared up at it, watching the giant lava golem constructed out of piping hot red rocks from the mantle and lava that oozed out of it's soulless eyes and mouth. The beast was as tall as the Hydra I fought last year. Almost TWICE as tall! I grit my teeth, readying my sword in both my hands as Phase stood to my left, holding onto my black shirt in fear.
Waves of lava splashed against the walls and the pillars of the bridge, often shaking the structure which sent nerve racking chills down my spine and induced a lethal dose of adrenaline... How the hell are we going to defeat a thing like THIS?!
My light grey, cat-like ears twitched to the cracking noise of it's movements as it pulled up both it's arms hight above it's head, making me tilt my head backwards to keep my eyes on it and watch it's massive fingers curl into it's palms. They slowly came together, then paused for a brief five seconds of silence... What's it thinking? I blinked twice, focusing harder on it's two clenched fists that looked about ready to plummet down and obliterate us, but for some reason, it didn't move... The sixth second on the clock ticked, unfreezing the colossal beast's arms which immediately crackled and began their journey towards me and only me...
I grunted, turning to my left and leaning a bit forward before making a full sprint safety with Phase holding tightly onto my clothing dearly for the sake of her life. Our footsteps were loud and as clear as day, but didn't compare to the brutal tears of the wind and the crashing waves of the molten rock from underneath us that slowly roasted out flesh for Red.
"Quickly!", Yellow exclaimed from up ahead, beaconing us to hurry it up as chills ran down my spine in anxiety, forcing a good shot of adrenaline to kick in and boost me out of the lethal zone with Phase who took in extraordinarily quick breaths of air to keep herself standing. She must be terribly exhausted! I can't blame her.
I turned around, quickly swiping Phase up with my arms bridal style and faced the front again in one epic, fluid motion before sliding down onto my backside against the smooth bedrock towards Yellow just as the two fists SMASHED the centre of the bridge not seven metres away. A massive heatwave ignited from the force, pushing me a little more forward with Phase in my arms straight past Yellow and near the entrance of the Volcano that was now sealed with a screen of lava.
I looked down at Phase in worry, checking to see if she was alright. Hey legs seem fine. Her stomach is bloating and deflating irregularly fast but that's not a problem... Her face is all red. I gotta check her temperature!
"Yellow! White! I'll look after Phase for a bit! Can you guys warn me when it's going to strike us!", I called out at the top of my lungs to defeat and overlap the composition within the volcano.
"Why?! Is something wrong with her?!", Yellow immediately called back as the cracking and crushing of rocks emitted greatly from far behind me, causing me to grit my teeth twice as hard in anger and worry.
"Just do it!", I yelled out to her, turning my head around to look at her, watching her pull out her knives from her back in front of the glowing lava which made her look heroic. A small smile crept across my face for whatever reason all of a sudden.
I shook my head left and right, looking back down at Phase who rested on my lap with her eyes tightly shut from exhaustion... Alright. I have to check what's troubling her. It's can't be the lack of bloodshed. She killed a hundred men just yesterday... So what could it be... I slipped my right hand out from under her soft, warm head and placed the back of my index and middle finger against her burning forehead, making me grunt and wipe off the smile across my face... She has a heat stroke... At times like these, I wish my name meant the type of powers I have... Not some darkness powers that makes me look like the bad guy!
"Frost! It's getting ready to attack you!", Yellow cried as White gracefully dodged it's right hand from the far side of the bridge. As fast as possible, I slid my hand back under her head and stood up again, turning around before making a full sprint to safety. I looked up to my left at the colossal beast, gritting my teeth like vices at it as it raised it's left arm up high above it's head and sent it straight down. This time, it aimed in FRONT of us.
I groaned, stumbling on a small piece of rock that probably fell from the monster's face and jumped backwards, skidding across the ground with a delicate 'hiss' before turning around and running an extra five metres just to make sure. Yellow ran all the way to the other side where White was, twisting around perfectly and skidding along the smooth ground just as the giant's left hand smashed into the bedrock bridge. Immediately, the force of the bit knocked me down to my knees and made me nearly drop poor Phase onto the ground, angering me by a lot. Damn... This is going to be hard!... Think! I need to think this out!... It's a giant. Golem to be specific... I... Have to remember!
It's hand rumbled the bridge as it slid away and flopped back to it's side. I stared at it with the urge to kill, but I forced myself to calm down and think this out. Attacking this thing head on is suicide...
It's arms raised up again, high above it's head in preparation to take us down. Phase mumbled to herself, making my eyes widen and immediately look down at her to see if she was alright. She wasn't. Her long, elegant light blue hair coiled up underneath her on the cool bedrock that I sat on with her on my lap. My heart thumped painfully hard, my soul pulsated with dark energy... I wanted to cry for her pain, but I forced myself to hold on to the thin line of sanity and life... She's not dying here... Not now, not ever!
Suddenly, the ground shook again, making me bounce and smash my knees painfully hard against the floor with blunt force. I cringed and fought the pain with all my might, taking a deep breath of air as I looked up to my right at the giant creature that stared down soullessly at us. Right there and then, it's huge, hideous cracked stone mouth opened widely as it vibrated and turned a bright, molten red as if it was being super heated with magma... Strange noises emitted from it along with the constant crashing of the waves underneath us that bombarded the pillars of the bridge with all their might, trying to knock us down and dead...
"What's that noise?", I asked myself for no apparent reason, making my light grey, cat-like ears twitch and focus hard on it's mouth... Then I heard it. The sound of bubbling and boiling of hot lava... My eyes widened as my pupils contracted to microscopic dots. As fast as I could, I stood up and turned around, readying myself as it turned to face me. Deep inside of it's mount, I could see an unbelievably red ball glowing within that was surrounded with a thin layer of cooled bedrock to stop it from losing shape... Fuck!
It fired at us with lightning speed, emitting a powerful explosion that echoed a thousand times within this hallowed-out shaft which twisted and punched my ears a good fifteen times. Without a second to lose, I ran straight ahead towards White and Yellow as fast as I could, looking dead in front of me. I crushed every single piece of stone in my way with my hard steps of fear and adrenaline, feeling the bridge shake as the massive ball collided with the bridge. I didn't stop running.
From behind, I could feel a huge surge of heat slap my back and burn my skin brutally, injecting me with another dose of adrenaline which allowed me to increase my speed and ignore my air supply entirely. There's no WAY that I'm dying by lava! Argh!... How the hell are we going to defeat this thing- oh crap!... I just remembered something... I used a sealing magic to defeat the Grave Digger once and for all in the realm of Insanity... That's it! But how the hell am I supposed to get in close to that thing?!...
It roared as loud as the engines of an air plane, raising both it's arms up high above it's head for the millionth time and prep eared to strike us down... Ok... I have a crazy idea... And it's going to work only of Yellow can take Phase off me and make a break towards the exit... The barrier blocking the exit should be down after that blast.
"Yellow!", I cried and recklessly threw Phase towards her, making her gasp in shock and drop her blades noisily against the hard cold ground before safely catching her in worry. "Sorry but you two gotta go! Head to the exit!".
"Huh?! Are you crazy?! I can't leave you guys alone and not help!", She retaliated in anger as I stopped not a metre away from her and summoned my blade back into my lone right hand after a small fire show of dark particles being sucked into my palm.
"You ARE helping! Just do it Yellow! Please! If you don't go then we'll all die!", I stated in desperation, making her grunt and growl at me before agreeing with a solid nod. She ran straight past my right, scraping my shoulder with Phase's heard lightly... Ok...
"Frost, the moment we take this thing out the volcano will erupt", White said casually with a smile plastered across her cheerful white face. I smiled softly back at her and gave her a nod... Wait... Erupt?! "Don't worry. This is all part of my plan. Listen carefully. I want you to slash off it's left arm and stop it from moving for at least five seconds. From there, I'll do the rest"...
"If it's your plan, then alright", I said with confidence,
looking straight up to see both it's hands plummeting straight down towards us with thundering speed. I ran to the left, and she ran to the right, easily avoiding the impact that shook the bridge once again... I looked at the exit, watching Yellow slowly disappear into the darkness with Phase in her arms which made me smile before I spun around and did something completely crazy.
I literally JUMPED onto the hand of the golem with a grunt. Immediately upon contact with it, my body nearly flipped upside down to how much energy flowed through it and entered my body somehow... I clutched the handle of my blade hard in my right, sweating hand, looking straight up at the creatures arm and slouched forwards at an angle before making a break towards it. Swiftly, I looked over to the right to see what White was doing and to my surprise, she did the exact same thing. I chuckled, looking ahead once again and jumping over a small rock that would've tripped me over if I hadn't of done so.
It's arm moved, twisting to the left which was intentional to make me fall off. Haha! Not gonna work! Especially when I'm this confident and energised to win! I ran the opposing force to it as I ran up, easily out smarting the golem.
Blindly, I slashed the hot air in front of me before jumping up to it's shoulder so that I could gain a resistant to the thick air which allowed me to successfully reach my destination. I took in a quick deep breath of air, exhaling and drawing my blade up high over my head in reverse, ready to stab it straight into it's shoulder... I hope this works! Three! Two! One! GO!
With all my might and trust put into White, I stabbed my sword CLEANLY into the beast's shoulder which literally imploded and dropped off into the hot ocean underneath us with ease... I see... This thing's power is all at the front. That's why I felt such an incredible amount of energy the moment I touched it's hand... Alright! Now for the seal!
White's POV
"SEAL!", Frost cried out at the top of his lungs, making me smile as I stood on top of the giant's head with my blade held in reverse in both my hands, ready to lodge it straight into skull!
A black, demonic maze-like lines scattered all over the giant's body like rope, trapping it inside of an unbreakable barrier which even prevented it from functioning internally. Well, if it did have organs... Haha! I remember the phrase well for this attack! My blade's already glowing a hot red from all the blood I shed yesterday!
"Frost! Protect yourself!", I cried out at the top of my lungs before my eyes burnt a deep, dark red for this move... Ahahaha! Let the volcano erupt!
I slammed my blade straight into the skull of the giant. The tip of my blade perfectly broke through the hard shell and ventured deep into it's hard, rocky brain which felt soft and sent chills up the shaft of my Moon's Rhythm... Hehe. Here goes nothing! I took in a deep breath of air, filling my lungs up to their maximum capacity before screaming out the single phrase...
"EXPLOSION!"...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
One hell of an explosion travelled down the entire giant, destroying it piece by piece as I was left with a five by five metre piece of rock from it's head. The entire volcano shook to the sheer amount of power my attack disbursed, making me smile and stare up high into the hole of the mountain where I saw her... Red! She stared down at me, smiling as she held two red shields in her arms which were the same height as her and about the same width as her... So she's the defensive type, huh?... Well then...
Five seconds until I'm up there... Just five...
I stood still on the piece of stone as I fell down towards the slowly rising ocean of lava that was just about ready to explode up towards the top... Hehe.
Four... I landed onto the pool of thick, viscous lava, STILL staring up though the hole at her with my deadly accurate light red eyes filled with the need to kill...
Three... Suddenly, and perfect on schedule, the lava BURSTED up towards the opening of the mountain with lightning speed. I rode the lava, smiling broadly and thinking of nothing but Red... She's mine! My hair swayed back and forth to my moves, tickling my body strangely.
Two... I held my right hand straight up with the tip ready to puncture her flesh and kill her once and for all... Let's do this!
One... KABOOM!
The volcano erupted and exploded as loud as a nuclear bomb as hundreds of thousands of volcanic ash and molten rock exploded out with me. Unfortunately for me, she used the red, shiny shields to block my attack, which made me click my tongue as I flew up high above the mountain with the volcanic black ash that spread like wild fire. I looked down, smiling broadly at the beautiful earth beneath and at Red who surfed on a large slab down the mountain that oozed out lava, obviously waiting for me. Hehe. I won't let her down!
This mountain's roughly a good three kilometres high! And for some reason it looks bigger on the outside than from the inside! Here I come Red! I won't lose to you!
Without hesitation and the will to defeat Red, I literally ran straight off the side with one hell of an uncanny smile plastered across my white face. Hahaha! I love this feeling! The feeling of battle! So much adrenaline! Haha! My hair fluttered extraordinarily hard upwards with my skirt, revealing my stripped white and light blue underwear to the world below. Volcanic rocks fired from behind me, passing by me by mere inches as I quickly made my way down towards Red's little lava mobile battlefield. Hahaha!
Yellow's POV
Crap... I hope those two survived that explosion. Dammit. Now I really trust Frost. If I stuck around I would've gotten my ass handed to me instantly... I hope we're safe here. The lava and ash shouldn't reach out this far...
"Hey... Will they be alright?", Phase asked me in a weak moan from my right as we sat on the light green grass in broad daylight, making me smile softly and turn to her.
"Mhm. They'll be fine", I said to her in a motherly tone.
"That's good... Oh... Look up there", She said, raising her right hand up weakly and pointing out her index finger at something up ahead, making me blankly blink and look at what she was pointing at. "Do you see that darker patch inside the ash?", She asked... Huh?... I can't see anything inside the volcanic ash except for, well, ash. AND molten fireballs. Can't forget those.
"No... Why?", I asked her curiously and looked down at her to see her smile brightly and tilt her head to the left cutely...
"You'll see"...
"Huh?"... What's she talking about? Don't tell me she's slowly going crazy... This is such a handful!
White's POV
"Oh? You're pretty fast", Red said to me in an intimidating manner, making me cringe and send a devastating vertical slice straight for her head, only to have it easily blocked by her right shield. My sword bounced back in recoil, making me stumble and grit my teeth in annoyance. Argh! She's purely defence! No attack whatsoever! "Keep them coming!".
"Shut it!", I cried, regaining my stance and sending another vertical slice as fast as lightning straight for her waist, again, to have it deflected by her damn shield. Red and blue sparks exploded from the impact as a loud scraping sound emitted, making me cringe and my white cat-like ears told in agony. Argh!
I reeled my sword back to my right again and attempted it one more time, ending with the same damn results... Crap! She's not going to budge! Even if I use a gun it won't hurt her because of those shields!
I took a good three steps back away from her, positioning my blade in front of my waist as I stared into her light red eyes that matched her amazing light red hair which was tied into long twin tails... She didn't wear much aside from a metallic breast plate holstered up with fine webbing around her back and a metal underwear which looked extremely uncomfortable... Dammit... If I can get through the defence, then she's done for!... Eh... Ack...
I tried to take a step forward, but something prevented me from doing so. There was tension around my feet for some reason, making me blankly blink and look down to see a coil of white string wrapped around my right foot... Huh?! I gasped in shock and confusion, completely dumbstruck to how on earth the string got there in the first place. Dammit! I raised my sword up high above my head as the bedrock platform we stood on rocked left and right all of a sudden. The lava split on board beside my to the right and bubbled vigorously, starving for my flesh which sent an electric shock down my spine and immediately, I struck down hard at the webbing...
"Not so fast!", Red cried as my hand suddenly stopped mid way, making me gasp in shock. What?! There's string around my wrist?! "Do you think escaping me would be easy? Haha! It's true, I'm all about defence! And right now, you're my hostage!"... Oh no...
Frost's POV
Dammit! It's either I end this now or there's going to be more fucking trouble! I hate it when things escalate up to things as high as a volcanic eruption! Red crossed the line and now I'm going to end this with one shot!
I plummeted down to the earth with extreme speed head first and facing the mountain. In my arms was a deadly sniper rifle charged with one and only one bullet. It was painted black and the barrel was extra long for it's accuracy. But the only problem with it is the velocity... It's a bit slower for my taste but the power makes up for it! It's strong enough to tear through a whole ten kilometres of steel! This is the moment! He part in life where you feel like everything you've done so far starts hitting you HARD! Haha! I wonder how many of those moments I've had!
She's in my sight. Red... And... Huh?! Why's White tied up in string on the floor next to her?!... Don't tell me she... I don't believe it... She recklessly attacked Red without thinking...
Hehe. All the more this makes the shot even more important! I have to aim at her feet in order to mash the energised bullet through her skull...
I had my left eye shut tightly and my right eye looking through a narrow scope on the top of my weapon, aiming the black 'X' right at her toes as she mouthed something to White who lay a metre in front of her in webbing around her arms, hands, thighs and mouth. I chuckled at her, blinking then taking the deepest breath I could. Air pushed my lungs upwards and filled every free space... Focus...
My right index finger rubbed the black, carbon fibre trigger of my sniper rifle, ready to pull down and release all hell at the unsuspecting Red...
The moment's high! My heart raced against time as anxiety and excitement filled every bone of my body. A smile was plastered across my face. The type that would make you think and recoil back in fear. Even tho this is a life or death situation, I still smile...
Well, that's because I know I'm not going to die of fail! FIRE!
Aiming the 'X' marker right at her feet, I grit my teeth, still smiling brightly, and pulled down the trigger as hard as I could to ensure it fires... Time seemed to slow down at this point... Really slow... The brutal beating of the air ceased entirely as my gun slowly picked against my right shoulder. I couldn't fight the powerful recoil, so I let it do what it wanted and opened my left eye, watching the gun work from the corner of my eye.
A hideously black bullet ventured through the barrel right after exploding from within the chamber, spiralling majestically all the way towards the muzzle and burst out with a mass amount of black particles that projectiled with it towards Red... Wow... The magic of trusting a single bullet, huh?...
Time resumed all of a sudden and reality kicked me on the face as hard as a boulder strapped with dynamite with the stock of my rifle, sending me flying a good fifteen metres backwards AWAY from the mountain which caused my eyes to widen a tenfold the moment IT attacked... Fuck! My phobia's attack in me and tearing my heart apart! Ack! Dammit! I have half a kilometre of thinking left and only six seconds! C'mon! There's no WAY I'm going to die here and become a girl again! My tail! I'll use that!... This is going to hurt!
Phase's POV
That... Was an awesome shot! He literally put a hole through her skull! And he put a hole in the earth with his landing!
We ran straight towards him as the volcano ceased all immediate activity, losing all of it's power and reversing all damage done to the land. It was a sight to behold, and a sight to stay away from. Chunks of rocks were sucked back into the mountain like time was being reversed. The volcanic ashes were sucked straight into the mountain's tip like a vacuum which made me smile warmly to how well things went... Things could have gotten ALOT worse!
We stopped right at the edge of Frost's little crater and peered into it carefully and worriedly to see him laying on his back and covered in blood...
"Is he dead?", Yellow asked me in a whisper.
"I don't know. Let's check", I said and jumped right in, landing right next to his head with a quiet thud before dropping down to my knees and grabbing his left hand with both my hands. I placed a thumb against his wrist, checking for a pulse and thankfully, there was one. Phew... "He's just unconscious".
"Thank goodness. I thought he was dead for a second there", Yellow sighed and jumped down to check on Frost from my left. I looked up at her, grinning childishly as I watched her face grow a slight red. She's so easy to read.
"Why don't you kiss him?", I asked her innocently. She immediately jolted up with fright and nearly tripped backwards over a pebble. Her face flushed EXTREMELY red and her eyes widened a tenfold in embarrassment.
"W...W...What are you saying?! I... I can't kiss him! He has White so- oops!"... Ahahaha! "Hey! Just what are you trying to make me say you iron board!".
"Who are you calling an iron board?! You're one yourself!".
"Me?! An iron board?! Are you blind?! How dare you call me an- Ahhh!", She cried all of a sudden as the earth shook vividly along with loud footsteps approaching from up ahead... What did White do?
I dropped Frost's hand and backed of a bit, gritting my teeth as the earth shook once more. Yellow tried to take a step backwards but slipped forwards for some reason, losing her entire balance and fell right on top of Frost... Dust kicked up into the air, completely surrounding us and blocking my vision. I coughed painfully and shook my head left and right as the smoke cleared off...
The moment I could see again, Red stood up from the top of the small crater with a tied up White in her arms who looked down with widened eyes at Frost... And I too, stared at Frost with widened eyes... Actually, scratch that. I stared at YELLOW with widened eyes... She... She...
I turned a bright, piping hot red that not even the sun could compare to... I wanted to laugh, but the sheer amount of shock destroyed my voice box and most of my emotions... I can't imagine what White's feeling right now while watching Yellow lay on top of Frost with... Her lips wrapped around his... And a part of her tongue wriggled inside of Frost's mouth, tasting his sweet saliva... Ahhhh! White's going to kill her!
Jace's POV
War is drawing near... The second guardian isn't stupid enough to leave their Colours out alone and get taken out like Yellow and Red. Nope. They're going to make them hand up and fight against us in their army. This is going to be good. My opponent should be worthy or else this'll be boring... Frost and the others will head to our camp in the east. Hopefully they can meet up with Chaos and all that! Haha!
Frost's POV
That girl again... I saw her before I blanked out... She had a worried look to her face for some reason... I need to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible before something bad happens.
