Hello everyone! Here's the twentieth chapter! I hope you enjoy.
Dean was driving the Impala while Ambriel was in the passenger seat. Sam was asleep in the backseat, using a jacket as a pillow. Celeste was off who knows where.
"Hey, Dean?" Ambriel spoke softly.
"Yeah, Bri?" Dean answered quietly, looking over at her. The moonlight outlined her silhouette, gleaming off her hair.
"Have you reconciled with Cas yet?" She asked.
"About?" Dean looked back at the road.
"What happened at Anael's." Ambriel explained, looking away slightly. She knew that Dean had forgiven her, but she hadn't quite forgiven herself.
"I mean," Dean paused, sighing, "I have nothing against him. I think that he hasn't forgiven himself about it. Or that he thinks I'm angry at him for it."
"I could call him on angel radio." Ambriel offered.
"No, it's alright." Dean insisted. "Call him when we're at the next motel."
"Okay." Ambriel scooched over closer to Dean, leaning on his shoulder.
Dean kissed her on her forehead.
They continued on their way to next town quietly, with soft rock playing on radio, making sure Sam would still stay asleep.
OoOoOoO
After bringing all their things into the Black Sun Motel in Arcadia, Nebraska, Ambriel called Celeste.
"Hey... We're in Arcadia, Nebraska, but I need a favor... Bring Cas to room 12 at the Black Sun Motel... Don't tell him why, just say it's an emergency... Okay, great... Thanks." Ambriel hung up and put her phone away.
"Is she going to do it?" Dean asked.
"Yes." Ambriel replied.
"How long will it take to get Cas?" Sam asked.
"3... 2... 1." Ambriel counted down.
When she finished, Celeste appeared with Cas at her side.
"Where's the demon?" Cas asked in a gruff voice.
Ambriel pulled out her angel blade, standing up as she did so. "There's no demon." She answered.
"Then why did you bring me here? What is the emergency?" Cas looked confused.
"You're here to talk to Dean." Ambriel explained.
Dean walked up to Cas, who took two steps backwards.
"I..." Cas started. "I need to..."
Ambriel and Celeste latched onto each of his arms. "You're not going anywhere." Celeste let her blade slide out into full view.
Ambriel flicked a hand and a chair came flying forward, stopping a few inches behind Castiel. The two girls sat him down as Dean rested on the edge of the nearest bed.
Satisfied that Cas wouldn't move, Ambriel and Celeste joined Sam in the back of the room, giving Cas and Dean as much privacy as they could.
Keeping his voice low, Dean spoke first. "Why do you keep avoiding me, Cas?"
"You're still angry with me about what happened at Anael's mansion." Cas replied, ever so quietly, ashamed still.
"No, I'm not." Dean bluntly responded.
Cas looked up at Dean with a glint of hope in his eyes.
"Who said that I was?" Dean asked, a bit curious.
"I just assumed that..." Cas trailed off.
Dean sighed standing. Castiel rose out of his chair a few seconds later.
"Look," Dean raised his voice slightly, "no hard feelings."
"No hard feelings." Cas echoed.
"Friends?" Dean offered his hand for a shake.
"Friends." Castiel nodded, shaking Dean's hand.
"Well now that that's over..." Celeste pocketed her blade.
Ambriel walked up to Dean, giving his hand a quick, tight squeeze for comfort.
"Sam, have you found anything yet?"
"Yeah, actually." Sam replied, taking out this morning's paper, folded to show a piece about a bizarre death in the nearby amusement park. The picture next to it was a shot of an EMT carting away a woman's body on a gurney. The woman was Lucy Morales.
"Alright." Ambriel started thinking. "Celeste and I will go to the police station. Sam and Dean, head to the morgue. Cas, can you canvas the amusement park and see if there's any of importance." She ordered.
Castiel had already disappeared to investigate the park, in secrecy to its attendees.
"Pant suit or skirt?" Celeste asked Ambriel as the two brothers changed into their own monkey suits.
"Pants, but no blazer." Ambriel replied, already dressed in dark washed jeans, a tank top with one of Dean's flannel shirts over it. She completed the outfit with a leather jacket and high heels.
"Fine." Celeste agreed. She changed immediately into tightly tailored pant with a red and yellow blouse.
"Dean, we're leaving!" Ambriel called out.
"I'll meet you back here!" Dean called back.
"Alright." Ambriel answered and she and Celeste zapped over to the police station.
The two strolled through the lobby and up to the sheriff.
"Can I help you?" He asked. He was an older gentleman, and the name on the tag on his desk said 'Sheriff Aaron Holloway.'
"Yes." Ambriel took out her badge. "I'm Agent Carson." Celeste held up her badge. "This is Agent Greenly." Both pocketed their badges. "We're with the FBI."
"FBI?" Sheriff Holloway was confused. "What's the FBI doing out here?" He asked.
"Investigating the death of Lucy Morales." Celeste answered.
"Morales… From last night?" The sheriff stood up. "You gals sure get around." He commented.
"It's our job." Ambriel answered.
"I don't know what the FBI needs to concern itself with a heart attack." Holloway walked over to a filing cabinet.
"Heart attack?" Celeste mouthed to Ambriel.
Ambriel shrugged.
"There's a possible connection with another death from a decade ago in Utah." Ambriel finally answered the sheriff.
"A decade?" The sheriff pulled out a file. "That's quite a long time."
"Just have to cross our t's and dot our i's." Celeste added with a smiled.
"Understandable." The sheriff nodded, handing the file to Ambriel. "Here's the preliminary findings and report. I suggest you visit the coroner before he releases the body."
"Will do, sheriff." Ambriel nodded.
The two angels walked out of the station and the zapped back over to the motel room.
Cas was there waiting.
"Anything?" Celeste asked, already dressed back in a tunic and some leggings.
Castiel shook his head. "No signs of demons, ghosts, vampires, or werewolves."
"That's disappointing." Celeste plopped down on the couch to watch the news.
Castiel rolled his eyes slightly as he sat down at the kitchenette table.
Ambriel sat on Dean's bed, ready to relax, when her phone rang. She answered it. "Hey, Dean."
"Hey, boss." He replied, cool toned.
"Boss?" Ambriel asked. "Are you about to get in trouble?"
"Yes, it's just a little miscommunication." Dean spoke gently, easily.
"Do you need me to talk to someone?" Ambriel crossed an arm, raising an eyebrow.
"Great, I'll hand you over." Dean handed off the phone.
Ambriel sighed loudly before the other person could here.
OoOoOoO
Dean and Sam quickly drove to the morgue, which was only three blocks away. Both walked up to the front desk clerk.
"How may I help you, gentlemen?" The older woman behind the desk asked.
"Hi." Sam spoke first.
Both brothers held up their badges.
"Agents Walsh and Williams." Sam introduced himself and then nodded at Dean. "We're here about the body of Lucy Morales."
"Of course." The older woman saw a younger female doctor and called her over. "Doctor Wheeler, these two FBI agents need to take a look at the body of Lucy Morales."
The doctor nodded and the older lady went back to filing documents.
Wheeler looked at Sam and Dean. "What does the FBI want with a heart attack." She almost stated, not asked.
"Well there might be a connection with another case for a few years ago." Dean started to explain.
"You're telling me that heart attacks a linked to each other give or take a few years?" She was skeptical.
"We only came out here to double check, make sure everything's in order." Sam replied.
"Then you won't mind if I speak to your supervisor." Doctor Wheeler insisted, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course." Dean pulled out his phone. He was about to dial Bobby's FBI number when he remembered that Bobby was going hunting in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. He quickly came up with a backup plan.
"Hi, Dean." Ambriel answered on the second ring.
"Hey, Boss." Dean had to speak to Ambriel in such a way that wouldn't alert the doctor.
"Boss? Are you about to get in trouble?" Ambriel asked, probably smirking.
"Yes, it's just a little miscommunication." Dean added in a smile for the doctor to see.
"Do you need me to talk to someone?" She asked.
"Great, I'll hand you over." Dean held out the phone for Doctor Wheeler.
Doctor Wheeler took Dean's phone and held it to her ear. "I am Doctor Wheeler from the Arcadia Morgue. To whom am I speaking?" She asked a bit rudely.
OoOoOoO
"To whom am I speaking?" Doctor Wheeler, who was on the other end of Ambriel's phone, asked quite rudely.
"This is Special Agent Brianna Carson with the FBI." Ambriel answered. "Is there a problem?" Ambriel was rude right back.
"There are two agents in my lobby asking to see the body of a woman who died from a heart attack." The doctor replied.
"Is there a problem?" Ambriel asked again.
"A heart attack is no cause for investigation."
"So you're telling me that MY agents shouldn't be doing their job just because YOU feel that there's no need for investigation." Ambriel snapped.
"Well, I-" Wheeler started to reply.
"I suggest that you let them do what they want." Ambriel paused briefly. "You wouldn't want that potential malpractice suit filed against you, now do we?" Ambriel smirked.
"Of... of course not." Wheeler stammered. "I'm so sorry to have taken up your time."
"You better be." Ambriel hung up.
OoOoOoO
Doctor Wheeler handed the cell phone back to Dean. Dean pocketed it with a smirk.
"Please follow me." Doctor Wheeler led them down a hallway and into a white room without making any further eye contact. "Take all the time you need." She quickly rushed out of the room.
"I really want to know what Ambriel said to her." Sam chuckled.
"Me too." Dean replied, peeling back the sheet that covered Lucy Morales.
OoOoOoO
Dean and Sam returned shortly after their investigation in the morgue. Dean walked in first and was immediately handed a police file by Ambriel.
"Did you find something?" Dean asked as Sam walking into the room, closing the door behind himself.
Celeste was relaxing on the couch and Cas sat with her on the opposite end.
"Lucy Morales technically did die from a heart attack, but the underlying cause was adrenaline overdose." Ambriel explained.
"Adrenaline overdose?" Sam asked, confused, raising an eyebrow.
Ambriel nodded, just as confused.
"How, though?" Dean asked, sitting down on his, pulling Ambriel down with him.
"Don't know." Celeste answered from the couch.
"Should we go to the amusement park and ask around?" Ambriel offered.
"It seems to be the wise thing to do." Castiel spoke up.
"Why not?" Sam agreed.
Celeste sucked in a breath.
"What?" Dean asked.
"I. Fucking. Love. Rollercoasters." Celeste replied, emphasizing every word.
Sam chuckled as Ambriel laughed out loud.
"Let's. Fucking. Go." Celeste grabbed her bag and ran from the back of the room and whipped the door open. She stood waiting at the Impala.
"She's really excited." Ambriel commented, looking down at herself.
Sam and Dean did the same.
Celeste had changed them into their normal plaid and jeans outfits.
"That girl is nuts." Dean sighed, rising from the bed, grabbing his cellphone and coat.
"You're telling me." Ambriel rolled her eyes as she stood by Dean. "Try being her roommate for a millennium and then talk to me."
Dean sucked in some air. "Rough."
Ambriel nodded in agreement.
"Did you say a millennium?" Sam asked, a little shocked.
Ambriel nodded again, a slight upset smirk on her face.
The three walked out of the motel room and Castiel followed behind, locking the room behind him.
Dean drove and Sam rode shotgun. Castiel was forced in the middle of the two female angels.
The group parked and Celeste was the first one out of the car.
"Ambriel!" Celeste excitedly called her best friend over.
"Yes?" Ambriel would not be surprised of whatever happened next.
"Please go on the rollercoasters with me!" She begged, holding Ambriel by the shoulders and waving her back and forth like a piece of grass.
"Why wouldn't I?" Ambriel replied, peeling Celeste hands off of her.
"Fuck yes!" Celeste rushed off to get her admittance ticket.
Sam and Castiel slowly followed behind her, eager to see what the angel would do.
Dean took Ambriel's hand and the two walked to the entrance gates together.
