Chapter Fifty Four: Who She Is

Frost's POV
"We should head to the east. There's a big camp there with your friends", Red stated from my right as I drove the metal and wooden wagon down a straight road parallel to a river to my left.

I blinked blankly, staring off into the endless horizon with a small smile and sighed quietly as the sun slowly set from our right.

"Where do you think I'm heading?", I joked, shaking my head a little. I wonder what the situation is like over there.

"Oh, right. Um... So...", She trailed off awkwardly, sounding like she wanted to ask me something. I blinked once again, broadening my eyes a little and gripping the metal, circular wheel in front of me a slight more tighter.

"Go on", I said politely and calmly, encouraging her greatly to recompose herself and start again.

"Um... I want to ask you a couple of things", She said, flipping on a switch within me that instantly forced my ears to block out the noisy crushing of the rock underneath the wheels of our wagon and the creaking of the insects from the left.

"Sure. I'm all ears", I replied to her in a friendly manner which again greatly boosted her confidence to speak.

"First off, how did you... Survive the fall", She asked after a sudden pause...

Damn. Now that I think about it, how DID I survive the fall? I know for a fact that my tail alone isn't enough to prevent a deathly fall like that... And strangely, I had a flash image of Black before I blacked out.

I took in a deep, quiet breath of the rushing soft air that beat against our faces gently, then exhaled and answered her question with all honesty.

"Sorry... I don't even know myself about that one. But I can tell you that I used my tail as a shield. That's about it", I claimed. Red hummed to herself in wonder, probably thinking if what I said was true or not. Eventually, after a good seven seconds of pure silence, she broke it with another question... A question that made my heart skip a beat and race in fear as well as widen my light red and light blue eyes...

"Did you see Her?", She said in an uncanny, low tone of voice that sent a chill down my spine, making me gulp and grip the steering wheel twice as hard in fear and suspense. How does... She know?... I was speechless. Completely and utterly speechless. "Did you see her?", She asked once more...

"Her?", I asked curiously, playing dumb to hide my fear but I was quickly called out by her...

"Don't play dumb with me Frost. Especially when it's this serious. Tell me. Did you see her?", She asked once more in a darkness tone of voice that made me tremble lightly, but not so much that it's obvious. My heart wavered back and forth to this uneasy feeling of anxiety and fear. How does she know about what I saw before I landed?...

I opened my mouth and squeaked, unable to speak any known words. I forced myself to swallow down my fear and exhale slowly before ceasing and closing my eyes to fight back the fear that tried to shove me into the deep pits of despair...

Forcing myself to properly tune my voice box, I spoke rather shakily as my grip around the wheel tightened a tenfold as the effect of my internal battle.

"I... I saw a girl", Was what I said, immediately inviting in the cold hearted silence to swarm around us and warp around our necks, effectively choking us brutally in fear and anxiety... The rocks that smashed to infinite bits ceased to make noise anymore and the conversation held by White and Phase from behind us became a mere uncanny echo that introduced a new layer of eeriness into the world. I could even hear my heart beating against my ribs, fighting to break free from it's jail and escape this madness. I don't know why this is so important...

"And the emotion?", Red asked me all of a sudden, effectively shattering the stiff, ongoing silence that lingered around for almost a full minute... Why does she want the emotion of the girl I saw?...

The silence invaded again, but this time, I was eager to stop it once and for all by taking in a quick deep, silent breath and telling her exactly what the girl's emotion was with a confident tone of voice that mismatched my internal situation.

"She was worried. At least I think she was", I said, blankly blinking and letting out a cold sigh from my damp lips which ejected a cloud of grey smoke that quickly vanished into thin air. The sun was setting quickly now and was at the final stand before nightfall. It burnt extraordinarily bright, ejecting one hell of an orange hue across the earth before us that dazzled me and fought off all of my worries ever so easily. I looked to my left slowly, putting on a small smile as my right, light blue eye glowed to the amazing river that burnt an amazing orange colour. The wagon cast a shadow against the water amazingly, easily snatching my attention as the moon slowly began to rise from the left, just to the left of the colossal Mount Winterfall...

Then, just before the world entered complete darkness, I looked straight ahead, carefully observing the endless dusty road before us. Silence slowly returned to us, but not for long. Red cleared her throat and scratched her arm, demolishing the lingering silence before she spoke a second later.

"That's interesting. I don't think she's ever put on a face like that. Say, did you ever have nightmares about her? Like you're in her place or watching her from afar?", She asked me curiously, instantly sending a terrifying chill down my spine as a cool, chilly breeze slapped us across the face from dead ahead... Nightmares...

"Who exactly is this girl?", I asked slowly in low tone of voice curiously, blankly blinking an awaiting for a remark... Five seconds passed. Then ten. Then a whole minute... Something didn't feel right... Like she took what I said as an offence... I gulped, clutching the wheel more tightly like before as my heart raced and bashed my rib cage ruthlessly in the steel silence... Hesitantly, I turned my head to the right to face her and strangely, she stared down at her lap, unmoving... Like she was a doll... A possessed doll...

"Frost... There are some things in this world that are best to never be shared... Her name, is Black Melody", She whispered in a low tone of voice which made Yellow and White immediately fall silent from within the wagon as they listened to our conversation as thoroughly as possible... What's going on? "If you want me to tell you more, you'll have to tell me what you saw in your nightmares... And how you coped with them without going insane"...

I blinked, gulping heavily as I turned back to face the front, staring blankly beyond the darkness and remembering every single dream I had that consisted of Black... I was afraid. Very afraid. My mind trembled in fear and my soul shuddered in anxiety which prevented me from speaking, even when I tried to... I need to tell her. I want to find out why the hell that girl is a big deal... I licked the front of my upper white teeth, feeling it's smooth, slippery texture and wiping away any saliva stuck around on them before I took in a deep breath and exhaled, ready to talk about my experience...

"Ok... First... I had a dream about seeing myself in various events surrounding Highpoint. I was tricked I think and betrayed by who I trusted and was thrown into the wild with White. Um... Oh. There was one part where a man raped... Well, you get the picture as well as a burning barn with innocent orphans burning alive inside... And... The latest one so far was about Black laying on a wooden torcher table. White brutally killed her multiple bashes to the skull with a wooden mallet then... Some monster ripped out of her stomach... Say", I said calmly, cranking up my confidence all of a sudden and now speaking in my normal tone of voice with a hard thinking mind. "Is Black a real person? Cause I thought I was Black. Or is she just my subconscious?", I asked her, and was quickly answered by Red in a calm, collected tone of voice that boosted my spirits by a tenfold.

"I wouldn't describe her as a person. Nobody would. However, she WAS a person before things happened", She explained to me, making me nod causally as I stared off into the unlit horizon that wielded a million glistening stars that slowly began to brighten up along with the vast galaxies and nebulas.

"What happened?", I asked, smoothening my fingers against the cold metal wheel that I gripped with both my hands.

"It's best if you never find out. She probably doesn't want you to know anyway... You have to stay out of trouble and away from Grey Heart. This is more serious than anything. Let me give you a heads up, just in case you accidentally come across Grey. Run. And don't stop. Even if she has everyone you love you run. Cause once she has you, even just grazes you with her fingertips, you're finished. Even more worse, is that Grey happens to be the last guardian, meaning that as soon as we finish the war... The final product will arise... Just... Be careful", She explained to me with great depth and detail, making me nod once and smile softly... The conversations held by the three behind us sparked up again, destroying the tense, uneasy feeling that had me wavering for quiet some time. Heh...

"Looks like there's four colours remaining", I chuckled to myself, looking over to Red who bared a confused face which surprised me a little.

"Four? What are you talking about. There's only three", She corrected me, immediately making me blink and gulp to what she just said... Three?

"I... I'm sure that there's Orange, Pink, Blue and Grey left to-".

"There's no such thing as Pink Heart...", She said in a low whisper that sent chills down my spine as my eyes widened a tenfold in shock and horror... No... Such thing as Pink?... Then Nova... No... Impossible...

Red's POV
Black Melody... The mirrored girl. The shadow. Death. Demon. The shattered. The forgotten...

So many names made by so many people back then. She's not someone to EVER take lightly nor approach unless you're obviously White or Frost... She despises everything else... And I can't blame her... She has never shown any emotion all the years spent inside the Colour Plane... If Frost is true to his word about her being worried, then maybe, just maybe, he can somehow find a way to help her... Of course, that chance is one to a billion... Literally... The only one that has been successful is White.

Frost's POV
"I think Phase is becoming more and more like a person over a spirit", I said humbly to White who sat to my left on the 'driver's' seat with both her hands firmly gripped onto the grey, cold metal wheel.

"I know what you mean", She replied quietly, almost in a whisper as the other three slept soundly and snored from inside the wagon behind us. "She's close to becoming a living spirit, just like you".

"Just like me eh?", I sighed, crossing my arms for warmth as a cool breeze swept by from the right, gent shaking the metallic wagon which literally made my heart race. Damn. Why do these things scare the crap out of me?

"Yes, just like you", White giggled at my reaction, making me turn a slight red from embarrassment and tighten the loop I made with my arms that rested firmly on my chest. When she stopped, she spoke again. "Only does she have a shape-shift ability and has similar magic to you".

"Mhm. Phase is also my familiar", I claimed with a calm voice and released a warm sigh that ejected an epic cloud of grey, transparent smoke from my damp lips which immediately dissipated to nothingness.

"Haha, but you treat her like she's your little sister", White chuckled, making me smile to how true it was. "You're too kind to others, you know that?".

"Not ALL the time. Besides, I've killed too many people to be called 'kind'", I stated calmly again, blinking once as I stared off I to the nightly horizon where millions upon millions of shimmering white stars glowed and danced with the numerous galaxies. There was one, MASSIVE pink and red nebula that towered up as high as the sky itself and took the shape of a sword...

I became quickly dumbstruck by the beautiful scenery which glistened in my light blue and light red eyes warmly, giving me the 'innocent' look. Silence fell upon us, swirling and coiling around our throats which increased our heart rates by a tenfold... Damn this... Suddenly, from out of the blue, White said something which annihilated the silence with complete ease.

"Your kill count doesn't matter to me. I really think that you're the kindest person alive on this planet", She said, making me flush red as my eyes widened in slight embarrassment and shock.. "That's one of the many reasons why I fell in love with you"... I blinked, snapping out of my little lost trance before shaking my head and loosening up, turning my head to the left to see two pairs of glowing light red eyes stare back into mine. They looked like jewels. Jewels that not even the king of the universe could afford... Wow...

She blushed a light red, smiling warmly with her amazing soft, damp pink lips that parted a little. Slowly, I slid my arms away from one another and gently moved my left hand up to her cheek with a small smile plastered across my face... Our eyes drilled into one another deeply, reaching to as deep as our souls and beyond, creating an eternal bridge of love that nothing could ever break... The back of my left hand brushed against her soft, soft face and pushed away her elegant white hair that covered a bit of her left eye. Gently and ever so carefully, I cupped her face and with my thumb, I slid it across her lips before we both leaned forwards, narrowing our eyes in complete sync as if we had the exact same thoughts as one another... White...

"I love you", I whispered to her and made the finally push to her lips, gently pressing them against hers as she slowly slid her arms behind my back and binded us together closely... White... Right now, I want to protect her with everything I have...

Ruby's POV

Nova stopped by to give me an apple earlier for Frost. I can't believe how beautiful she's become! Haha. I'll give Frost the apple for breakfast tomorrow. He can eat it while he has the battle talk with Jace and the others... I hope he comes back fine...

Wow... This apple is as red as blood and looks more like a candy! Hmm, I won't let anyone touch it but Frost!

Black's POV

"White is the beginning of ev-ry-thing and is perfect.

But it's blinding to the truth...

Blue is calm and co-o-rect

But it's the reason behind depression...

Red is passion and lo-ove

But also rage

Green is the health all ab-ove

But so is envy and misfortune

Yellow brings happi-ness

And leads to betrayal and dishonesty

Orange is full of unique-ness

Because nothing is similar to it's name

Purple is wisdom and ro-o-yal

But it's cruel and and arrogant

Pink is innocent and doesn't bo-oi-il

But thinks low about themselves and is immature...

After all of these glorious colours comes the final one.

One that cannot be fitted as a colour because of it's corr-up-tion.

All colours became hue the more they interacted with it. It's corroded them to nothing but darkness

That's why in the end, they all isolated the poor colour...".

It's not my fault... It's never been my fault...
