After three days, the day of the coronation came. Adam was extremely nervous as his cousin, Cogsworth and Brimley tried to dress him up for the important day, but not only was Adam nervous about the whole ordeal, he was also a little furious too. The part that Adam was furious about was the clothes he was going to wear, the clothes that he was wearing was a suit of gold, pants of silver and boots made of the finest leather; he was also wearing a royal red cape with white fur with black specks covering the lining of the red cape. They may have been beautiful clothes to wear, but Adam didn't want to wear them because...they were the same clothes that his father, King Henry Colère, used to wear. Just so his father isn't completely covering him, he grabbed the gloves of the Silk Dagger Claws. They were in disguise as regular royal gloves, Adam was very thankful for that.
"Sire, you seem very upset about something." Cogsworth said, but Adam was too upset and nervous to talk about it.
"I think it's because of what's going on today." Brimley said, but Sagittarius shook his head as he got Adam comfortable in his clothes.
"I have a pretty good idea on what's making you upset." Sagittarius whispered, "I would be upset about it myself if the same thing happen to me, but try to put a smile on, cousin. Everyone will be watching you, I'll admit that, but so will Sapphire and Belle." Just hearing that Belle will be watching him...was enough to jolt Adam out of his nervousness...at least for a while.
As for Belle, she wasn't going to let Claudette help her dress because Belle was going to put on a special dress. She was going to wear the golden dress that she wore when Adam and she first danced together when he was the Beast. Belle started to remember the happy memory as she put the dress on, she remembered that Adam was so nervous because he never learned to dance. Belle felt so happy being in her Beast's arms that she laid her head against his chest, hearing his fast heartbeat.
When Belle heard a knock on her bedroom door, she was snapped out of the memory. She groaned as she put her golden gloves; then she went to the door. When she opened it, she was surprised to see Sapphire. Belle was surprised because of the marvelous dress Sapphire was wearing, it was a beautiful silver color with middle-length sleeves.
"Wow, Sapphire." Belle said, "What a beautiful dress."
"Thank you." Sapphire said she smiled, "I came to see if you're ready, the coronation is going to start in half a hour."
"I am," Belle said as she closed her door behind her, "I really wasn't expecting you come by."
"Well, I don't think we need men to lead us, even though it is a nice thing. Besides, I also wanted to tell you that I have a surprise for you."
"Ooh, what is it, Sapphire?" Belle asked as the two of them walked to the Great Hall.
"If I told you now, you won't be surprised later." Sapphire answered, "You can wait until after the coronation, but I can promise you that you'll be very happy with it!"
"I think I'll be happy with anything you do...you already did so much for me, at least."
"Hey now, our soon-to-be husbands are cousins, that makes the two of us family. If not family, we're friends." Sapphire said, Belle just looked at her and smiled. Belle knew that Sapphire was right on both occasions. Sapphire could see from Belle's smile that she agreed with what Sapphire said. The two of them nodded their heads at each other and continued to walk to the Great Hall.
Belle and Sapphire stood in front of the crowd as they watched Henrietta walk up to Adam. Adam bowed and his aunt put his father's crown on his head, even though he looked calm, Adam was very nervous and a little scared. Even Belle saw that he was nervous, but she saw that Adam was doing well on hiding his fear. After his aunt put her brother's crown on his head, Adam then turned to the priest. The priest was holding a purple pillow, on the pillow was a long scepter. The scepter had a picture of Adam's family crest on it; he tried to swallow his fear as he reached out to the scepter. Adam had seen the scepter before, but...he remembered it as his father's favorite choice to use to beat him. His hands shook as he gently took the scepter in his hands. He then turned around to face the crowd; the priest then did a prayer in a different language. Adam felt very afraid as he faced the crowd, he was still very afraid of being crowded.
"Adam, try to hold still." Sagittarius softly whispered to his cousin, he was standing on Adam's left while his mother was standing on Adam's right. Adam didn't realize that his legs were shaking, he swallowed his fear and made his legs stop shaking. The priest continued his prayer until he finally said;
"Prince Adam Devereaux Mallory Soren Porc-épic Colère." Adam tried not to groan or make an angry face when he heard his full name. He then heard the crowd in front of him say his full name. Adam made a very soft groan while the voices drown it out, he couldn't hold it in anymore. After hearing the crowd say his full name, they all clapped for him. His aunt whispered to him that he can now leave the Great Hall, he nodded his head and walked down to the door. As he walked to the door, the crowd bowed to him, his cousin and his aunt.
When Adam, Sagittarius and Henrietta left the Great Hall, they went into one of the parlors while the crowd went to the ballroom. When the three of them were alone, Adam finally fell to the ground.
"Cousin!" Sagittarius quickly said, "Are you okay?"
"Calm yourself, son." Henrietta said, "Your cousin just went through a tough ordeal. I don't blame him for falling to the ground."
"Get this thing away from me!" Adam cried out as he threw his father's scepter. Sagittarius quickly caught it before it had the chance to break. Adam was shaking as he got back on his feet. He tried to arrange his father's crown on his head. "I forgot...how big of a head...father had."
"I'm actually surprised you didn't faint on the platform." Sagittarius said, "You were so scared."
"Of course I was scared!" Adam pushed, "I don't mean to be rude to my cousin and aunt, but I just went through one of the toughest things for me."
"Which is what?" Sagittarius asked.
"Cogsworth had me wear clothes my horrible father wore, I'm wearing his crown and...I had to hold the very thing he...liked to use to beat my rear."
"No wonder you're so upset about holding the scepter." Henrietta said, "If you told me, I would've chosen something different for you to hold."
"It's not your fault, Aunt Henrietta. I was seeing accursed flashbacks of him, but I had to go through with this. If not for me and my family, at least I did it for Belle."
"I do know one thing," Henrietta added, "she was smiling the whole time. I think she was trying to make you feel better about this."
"I wish I was looking at her." Adam said, "I would've felt a whole lot better. Speaking of Belle, we better go to the ballroom."
"I agree." Sagittarius said, "I must be with my lovely Sapphire."
"There are times where I think they're more important than your own skins." Henrietta said as she opened the door for them.
"They saved our human skins," Sagittarius said as the three of them went to the ballroom, "they are more important to us than anything, mother."
"It's official, my son, you're lovesick with Sapphire. I'm actually surprised that you are suffering from it. To be honest, I thought Adam would suffer from love-sickness."
"Aunt Henrietta!" Adam quickly said.
"Sorry, forget I said it." Henrietta said, "Now, just don't let your love carry you away too much, Sagittarius. You never know when it would make you lose your mind and start protecting her for no reason at all."
"Yes, mother." Sagittarius said as the three of them approached the ballroom door. The servants opened the doors for them and the three of them went inside. Cogsworth and Brimley announced the three of them as they walked to the other end of the ballroom. The guests bowed to them out of respect, Adam knew that was something that he had to get used to. After bowing to them, the guests went back to talking and dancing.
"Everyone seems to enjoying themselves." Henrietta said, but Sagittarius and Adam were looking around, seeing if they could find Belle and Sapphire. When they didn't, the two of them decided to summon Cogsworth and Brimley.
"Yes, sires?" Cogsworth and Brimley said at the same time.
"Have either of you seen Belle?" Adam asked.
"Or Sapphire?" Sagittarius asked.
"No sire." Cogsworth answered.
"I have," Brimley answered, "Lady Sapphire told me that she had a surprise to show Belle. So Lady Belle went with Lady Sapphire."
"Very well." Sagittarius said, but Adam felt a little worried. Even though he trusted Sapphire, he still didn't like Belle being off on her own. After a half an hour passed, Adam and Sagittarius were not very happy at the moment. It was mainly because they were very worried about Belle and Sapphire, they didn't understand why Belle and Sapphire were gone so long.
"Your majesties." They heard and looked around and, to Sagittarius' left, there was Fantina, one of Mystique's older sisters. "Is there something wrong?"
"It's not your concern, Fantina." Sagittarius said in an angry tone.
"Well, your majesty, you don't have to be so rude." Fantina said to Sagittarius, she then walked over to Adam. She curtseyed as she said, "Forgive me, your highness, but you seem just as unhappy as your cousin. Is there something I can do?"
"You getting out of our sights!" Sagittarius snapped.
"Humph, fine!" Fantina snapped back, she then turned and left. Adam didn't quite understand why Sagittarius was acting they he was...until he remembered that Fantina tried to create a wedge between Sagittarius and Sapphire. After Fantina was shooed off, Adam and Sagittarius went back to think about their lovely brides. Adam tried not to be a worry-wart, but he was very afraid on where Belle could be.
"Well, your majesties!" Another female voice spoke, Sagittarius and Adam saw that it was Aceline, the middle sister. "You didn't have to be so rude to my sister!"
"It's not my fault that your sister got in the way between me and my bride!" Sagittarius snapped, but Aceline held her ground.
"What is it that you see in Sapphire and you don't see in us?" Aceline snapped back, "We have more for you to gain than Sapphire or Belle!" Now when Aceline brought Belle into the situation, Adam got very upset.
"How dare you say such a thing!" Adam snapped, Aceline was actually a little surprised. "You say something like that again and I'll make that you stay out of our sights for good!" Aceline was very angry about the situation,but she decided to back down like Fantina...for now.
"Well done, cousin," Sagittarius said, trying to calm down. "I couldn't stand those two being near us."
"How someone like that say such awful things?" Adam said under his breath.
"Your highness?" Adam quickly snapped out of his thoughts and looked to right. He was actually surprised to see Mimi, Belle's old acquaintance, standing there.
"What is it, Mimi?" Adam said.
"I need you to come with me." She said, Adam raised an eyebrow at her. "Please sire, this is very important."
"It better be." Adam said as he went with Mimi. They left the ballroom as Adam followed Mimi. "Remember, this better be worth the time."
"I swear on my life, your highness, I wouldn't go this far unless I need your help." Mimi said as she turned to Adam.
"Hmm, all right, all right, calm down, Mimi." Adam said, "I didn't mean to sound the way I did."
"I know you don't trust me, but this is serious." Mimi said, "Now come with me." Adam continued to follow Mimi as they reached the guests' quarters. She then stopped in front of one of the rooms. Adam was a little confused as Mimi looked through the keyhole. "Look inside, sire." She said, Adam looked through the keyhole and he was very shocked and surprised. What Adam and Mimi saw...was Mystique gagged and tied to the bed.
"What the..." He said.
"I know, sire, we have to open the door. It's locked." Mimi said, "I did whatever I could to open the door, but I need the key. You, Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts have them, can't you open the door?"
"Why didn't you ask them?" Adam asked as he took his keys out.
"I did, but they wouldn't believe me." Mimi said, "Both of them thought I was out of my mind that I said such a thing."
"Oh, of all times for them to ignore you." Adam said as the lock clicked and the door opened. When Mystique looked over at the door, she continued to struggle. Adam and Mimi quickly went to the bed and untie her.
"Are you okay?" Mimi asked as she removed the gag.
"Don't worry about me!" Mystique quickly said, "You have to protect them!"
"Them?" Adam asked.
"Your highness, your bride and Lady Sapphire are in danger!" Mystique quickly said. When Adam heard that, he quickly removed the rope from Mystique.
"Tell me all you know!" Adam said as he grabbed her dress collar.
"Sire, my brother and sisters are up to do bad things to them. You have to protect them before something bad happens! Go find your cousin and go find Belle and Sapphire!" Adam released Mystique and left to go to his cousin. Adam started to figure that Mystique's sister and brother already caught them, which is why Adam and Sagittarius haven't seen them for almost an hour. The princes had to find their lovely brides before something horrible happens to them.
