Adam saw the machete coming down, he charged in, got between the machete and Belle and used his hand to stop the machete. "No!" Adam shouted, but then, the Silk Dagger Claws removed its disguise. The daggers came out of the gloves, not only did the daggers stop the machete, it also cut the machete in four pieces. Nothing could express what Karlitis just saw, he looked at his broken machete and looked back at Adam. He didn't recognize him; he didn't know that it really was one of the princes.
"Well, a creature such as you can only be attracted to commoners!" Karlitis shouted, "You'll pay for getting in my way!" Before Karlitis could get to his other weapons, Sagittarius came out of hiding and attacked Karlitis. Adam wasn't going to get in the way, he looked back at Belle. She had fell backwards and passed out, she was unconscious just like Sapphire.
"I should kill him!" Adam said in such fury as he put his right hand under Belle's head.
"And have our girls framed for his death?" Adam heard Sagittarius asked. He looked over at his werewolf cousin and saw Karlitis' neck in Sagittarius' left hand, Karlitis was unconscious. "I don't think so." He added, Sagittarius then dropped Karlitis and ran over to Sapphire.
"We have to get them inside the castle." Adam said still very furious. He looked over at Karlitis now on the hard ground and still unconscious. Sagittarius really made a mark and number on him. Adam knew for a fact that neither him or his cousin plan to carry him back up to the ledge. "Watch Belle for a minute." He asked, Sagittarius nodded his head. Adam walked back to the entrance of the cave, flapped his wings and flew up back to Rouge and Rosetta.
"Adam, is something wrong? Is Belle okay?" Rouge asked.
"Not really," Adam answered, "As much as it kills me to say it, but I need you to carry Karlitis up here."
"Very well, Adam." Rouge said as she used her magic to float down to the cave entrance. As she and Adam went into the cave, they heard some howling. They turned around the corner and saw Sagittarius holding Sapphire close to him and howling. Rouge could sense the pain and anger in the cave as she looked around. When she laid her eyes on Karlitis, she asked, "Is this him?"
"Yes." Adam answered, "I would give to pull his heart out of his chest, but we need to get the ladies out of here."
"I would rather die than carry that monster up the ledge." Sagittarius added after he howled.
"Understandable." Rouge added, "Go take them, I'll deal with bringing him back up."
"I can't believe you resorted into doing this!" Danton pushed as he faced his wife and two eldest daughters. Henrietta was trying to stall for time for Adam and Sagittarius to find their brides.
"This doesn't involve you, Danton." Nanette pushed, "If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at the queen! She took so much from me, you don't know!" Nanette looked back at Henrietta, "It's up to you, Henrietta, either let your son and nephew marry my two daughters here or you'll never see Belle and Sapphire again."
"Nanette, that is never anyone's choice." Henrietta said, "I became a queen because Randolph loved me and I loved him, just like how Sagittarius and Sapphire loved each other and how Belle and Adam loves each other. You can't force someone to marry someone else just because of rank or birth, love is another thing someone needs to consider. What about you, Nanette? Don't you love Danton?" When Danton heard Henrietta ask that question, he really wants to believe that Nanette does love him...because he loved her more than anything.
"How dare you bring Danton into this!" Nanette pushed, "How can you be sure that your nephew loves Belle? I could be saving her."
"Saving her from what?" Henrietta angrily asked, Nanette scoffed and chuckled.
"Everyone knows what kind of a father he had, you don't even know about your family because your mother sent you away." Henrietta now knew what else Nanette was after, she was trying to bad-mouth her family.
"I knew about the horrible things my father's family has done, but it takes one to change a family." Henrietta said in an angry voice, "Lydia did whatever she could to protect Adam from the abuse that my stupid twin brother was doing, just like my mother was trying to protect me. If my father knew I was born, I would not be here dealing with you. So go ahead and talk bad things about my father and my brother, but never bad-mouth me or Adam!" Nanette and Henrietta were getting more mad at each other every time someone spoke, but before either one of them had their tops blown off, the guards yelled out.
"Your highness!" Everyone turned around to see a couple of guards, but what surprised everyone the most was that they were holding Karlitis. He was all beat up and had shackles on his wrists and ankles, they were all connected by chains.
"Karlitis!" Nanette screamed as she tried to get out of her seat, but the ropes and nearby guards held her down. When Henrietta saw the condition Karlitis was in, she was relieved because there was a very well chance that Adam and Sagittarius had found Belle and Sapphire. "Release my son!" Nanette continued to scream.
"Guards, take these four up to the dungeon until we leave." Henrietta ordered, the guards nodded and obeyed her orders. Nanette, Fantina and Aceline screamed as the guests, Danton and Mystique watched them being taken away. Before the guards that had Karlitis took him up to the dungeon, Henrietta stopped them. "Guards...have you seen Adam and Sagittarius?"
"We have, your highness." One of the guards said, "They just ordered us to get Karlitis out of their sight."
"And...Belle and Sapphire? Did you see them?"
"They were in the princes' arms. We couldn't see any part of them except their heads, the princes covered them up with their jackets and shirts. It looked like Prince Sagittarius had been in a fight." The other guard explained.
"Last question...do you know where they are?" Henrietta asked.
"The princes' room, Madam." The first guard answered, "They said they didn't want to risk leaving their brides alone." Henrietta nodded her head and let the guards take Karlitis to the dungeon with his mother and two older sisters. Henrietta knew that she shouldn't disturb her son and nephew, but...she wanted to see if Belle and Sapphire wanted any help. She then summoned Cogsworth, Brimley and Rousskin, her head servant, to take care of the guests while she went to her son first.
"My...beautiful...Sapphire." Sagittarius said as he stared at her unconscious face. After he and Adam brought Belle and Sapphire back up to the ledge, they changed back to their human forms, but because they found out that their dresses were destroyed, they took off their torn shirts and jackets to cover their brides' bodies. "My...lovely...Sapphire, I'm sorry." Sagittarius added, "It's my fault you're like this." Just then, he heard a knock on his door. Sagittarius was in no mood for company. "I do not want to be disturbed!" Sagittarius yelled.
"I'll check on you later, son."
"Mother?" He asked after hearing that, even though he had doubts that it was. He got up from his seat and went over to the door, he opened it and saw his mother going down the hall. "Mother!" He saw his mother turn around after he yelled out to her.
"I thought you didn't want to be disturbed." Henrietta said as she walked back to him.
"You're an exception, mother." Sagittarius said, "Come in." Henrietta walked into the room, but her eyes wandered over to Sapphire. She heard Sagittarius lock the door as she continued to look at Sapphire. Henrietta sighed as her son walked up to her.
"How bad is she?" Henrietta asked.
"I don't know," Sagittarius answered, "the castle doctor is with Belle and Adam. Adam...offered to let the doctor look at Sapphire first, but...Belle was more beat up than Sapphire, despite that...that idiot tried to attack them with a machete." Henrietta was shocked to hear that.
"A machete?" she asked, "I can't believe it." Henrietta tried to calm down, she didn't want to rile her son after the shouting she did with Nanette. "Where did you find them?"
"In a cave below the castle." He answered, "I don't know how that monster brought both of them down there...unless his two sisters helped him."
"They probably did." Henrietta added, "It was all Nanette's plan to go after my family and Adam. I just don't understand why she's so angry with me, she says I took so much away from her, no one knows. After I saw Karlitis, I sent him, his mother and his two sisters to the dungeon until we leave."
"Adam wanted him dead...he wanted to kill him, but...I couldn't let Belle and Sapphire...be blamed for killing him."
"I see, I do understand, son." Henrietta said, just then, there was another knock on the door. "You stay here, son. I'll answer the door." Henrietta went to the door and slowly opened it. When she peeked out the door, there was a woman wearing a simple red and white dress. "Can I help you?" Henrietta asked.
"Pardon me, my queen, but is this the room of Prince Sagittarius? I'm here to check on his fiancee, Lady Sapphire."
"You're...the castle doctor?" Henrietta asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"I'm his daughter, my father is very sick at the moment." The woman answered, "He taught me everything about medicine and the human body. I just came from Prince Adam's room...for Lady Belle. He sent me down here for Lady Sapphire." Henrietta was still a little apprehensive, but since she heard that Adam sent her down, she decided to let her in but to keep her guard up. She opened the door wider and allowed the the castle doctor's daughter in.
"Who is she?" Sagittarius asked.
"Your highness, my name is Aiglentina. Your cousin sent me down here after I checked out my Mistress." She answered, just like his mother, Sagittarius was also surprised.
"You're the castle doctor?" He also asked, Aiglentina gave him the same answer that she was the daughter, but she knew her medicine and her diagnoses. Sagittarius decided not to push the issue. After that little introduction, Aiglentina told Sagittarius and Henrietta to leave the room while she looked through Sapphire. Both Sagittarius and Henrietta didn't like that idea, but Aiglentina pushed her point until they finally walked out of the room, but they stayed right outside the door. "I wasn't expecting a lady to be checking Belle and Sapphire." Sagittarius said.
"Neither was I, but if Adam trusts her, we might as well give her the benefit of the doubt." Henrietta added, "We did jump to conclusions about her...there really isn't excuse for that...not even what happened to Belle and Sapphire."
"You have a point, mother. I just hope that Belle is okay and my cousin isn't head over heels in anger...not that I don't blame him."
"We're going to have a problem." Henrietta said, "Everyone here was brought for both the coronation and for your double wedding, but now that this has happened, the wedding is probably delayed."
"More than delayed," Sagittarius added, "Adam and I were looking forward to not having anyone get between us and our girls. Now...I don't know how we'll be with them forever." Henrietta placed her right hand on her son's shoulder.
"Do you and Adam still want to marry them?" she asked.
"I want to marry Sapphire if she still wants to marry me and I know Adam feels the same towards Belle."
"Then I'll do whatever I can to make sure that the wedding happens." Henrietta said with a smile, Sagittarius looked back at his mother and smiled back. Soon, the door opened and out came Aiglentina.
"So...what's wrong with her?" Sagittarius asked.
"Nasty cut on her arm, lucky nothing major was hit." Aiglentina answered, "She's been kicked, punched, whipped and who knows what else. Most of her body is bruised, just like Lady Belle. She should recover, but that's not what's concerning me."
"What is?" Henrietta asked.
"Well, there are two things. One, she has a nasty black eye. it's really swollen. My fear is that she'll never be able to see out of her left eye again." Hearing that was enough for Sagittarius to go into shock, he didn't say anything as he ran back into his room. "Maybe I should go." Aiglentina added, but before she started to leave, Henrietta grabbed her dress.
"Hold it," Henrietta said, "you said there were two things that were concerning you. You talked about one of them, what's the other one about?" Aiglentina just simply turned around. She can tell that the queen wanted to know, so Aiglentina took a deep breath and said;
"Lady Sapphire is four months pregnant."
