-TONY-
Tony knew he shouldn't pause, shouldn't even think about it. Pepper didn't matter to him anymore, he had moved onto somebody so much better, somebody who actually cared about what he was doing, what he felt and how he was doing. He was in love with Steve, he was sure of it. Pepper had always been his best friend (next to Rhodey of course and Steve) but when he thought about it, Pepper was just that— a best friend.
He ran a hand through his messy hair, as he thought about his words carefully. If he had been looking, he would have noticed the tears forming in Steve's eyes. Steve was very emotional right now.
"Is….is it true Tony? Are you thinking about getting back together with…with her?" Steve asked, looking just like a broken doll or a kicked puppy.
Tony didn't want that. He stepped forward, going to take Steve into his arms. "Steve…it isn't that…yes…I've thought about it but—"
"How could you? What about me? What about Ethan and James?" Steve asked, looking quite hurt but now, now Steve was mad. It was one thing to break Steve's heart— it was another to leave the twins.
The brunette couldn't get words out, he was so shocked.
"Who are James and Ethan?" Pepper asked, looking a little taken a back and Steve turned his eyes onto her, and he glared. Yes, he was acting like a woman but he had a right.
He was pregnant for God's sake!
"They're my sons." Steve said simply, before resting his hand on his belly, glaring still at Pepper. "And they're Tony's."
"Steve!" Tony gasped at him causing the blonde to look at him.
His anger rose. "Ashamed are we, Tony? Ashamed you impregnated me?"
Pepper felt her mouth drop open in shock before shaking her head. "No…that's crazy! You look like…like you're 6 months pregnant and Tony was dating me…"
Steve nodded. "Yes he was."
"But that means…"
Once again, Steve nodded. "Yes, he cheated on you with me."
"Steve!" Once more, Tony cried out looking so surprised. Steve was jealous, that much was clear to Tony who wasn't good with many emotions, "Why did you tell her that?!"
"So you ARE ashamed of me!" Steve accused.
Without another word, Steve stormed off to where his old room used to be. He wasn't ready to be this person, he had just lost Bucky…and now he was losing Tony too.

-STEVE-
Steve was crying in his bed, the boys kicking at him but he barely noticed anymore. He was numb. Tony had been his lifejacket and now Steve was drowning in everything going on. Natasha had tried to talk to him but he had ordered her away, (she had returned when she heard from Bruce what was going on) and she had.
Though, she was with Bruce trying to come up with a plan.
One of the twins kicked at Steve like saying papa we're here! We aren't going anywhere. You'll always have us. Steve needed it, and he sniffled as he looked down at his belly. "Thanks buddies…"
Then, there was a knock and the door slowly opened. "Steve?"
It was Bruce.
What was Bruce doing in his bedroom?
"Can I talk to you?"
"I'm not leaving my room. I'm not going to talk to him. I will not sink down to his level." Steve said firmly. He of course was talking about Tony.
Bruce sighed softly, but nodded. "I know…I wanted to talk to you. May I?"
"...Fine…"
Bruce entered and went over to Steve's bed, taking a sit on the chair beside it. "Steve, I want you to be cheerful again…and I know it hurts right now. But I thought this could make it a little better…" Bruce said quietly as he carefully reached over to touch Steve's shoulder, and he sighed. The blonde was warm. "Before Bucky died, he was talking to me. He was talking about his past with you Steve."
Steve looked up, and tears welled in his eyes. "…What….what did he say?" He sniffled and then hiccupped.
Bruce took in a deep breath. "He was talking about your childhood, how you met….that sort of thing. Then, he told me something not too shocking. He was talking about how…how he fell in love with you." Steve looked at Bruce with his mouth hanging open in shock. "But, he didn't know he was. He was always chasing after different girls, never finding that special one. He didn't get it. He had been with a lot. All of 'em never matched up to who he needed.
"It was shortly after he was pulled out of the river, by SHIELD. You remember this yes? He was recovering, and he was calling for you. He needed you Steve. And somebody asked, who are you calling for? And Bucky replied, I am calling for Steve…Steve Rogers….I need Steve! And the person had been shocked. A man? You are calling for a man? Do you have no woman to be with? And Bucky had simply said No other woman can match up to Steve…Steve's all I need. He's what I need in a person. And that man had explained what had happened to you. Bucky was thrown apart, ya know? He had lost everything. So I spent half his life looking for you with Howard Stark. When Howard died, he stopped." Bruce explained.
Steve was crying silent tears. "He loved me?"
Bruce nodded. "And he knew he had bad guys on his trail, Steve. And he knew he couldn't risk the twins. He wanted you to be happy, and seeing what the fighting between him and Tony did to you, broke him. He wanted you to be happy. So I'm sure as hell, when he was fighting for his life, he knew he was going to hurt you yes— but in the end, you'd get happiness and you'd be safe. Do you see my point?"
Steve nodded slowly as he looked down at his belly. Of course he did. Bucky gave up his life so that Steve, James and Ethan would be safe. Bucky knew what he was doing when it went down.
He decided to die a hero.
The blonde moved into the brunette's arms and buried his face into his best. Bruce let Steve cry, who seemed to do nothing else other than cry nowadays.
"Thank you…" Steve whispered.
"No problem Steve…no problem…" Bruce murmured.
Up Next: Steve begins to get better. He reached his 26th week in his pregnancy. He only has 14 weeks left to go. He's moving closer to Bruce because of the talk about Bucky. Tony is doing everything he can to get Steve to talk to him.
Hey guys. Thank you all SO much for reviewing last chapter, I shall in fact keep writing. Yes, this chapter has a lot of Bruce/Steve moments— I couldn't help it.
I don't know what pairing you guys like better— Stony or Spangle Banner. Which one do you guys want? I feel like in my point of view, Bruce is better as an uncle— not a father (not that he wouldn't be amazing) but I feel like he'd be scared he would hurt them. And Tony, even though he's an awful person most of the time, he still cares deeply for Steve and has gotten better.
It's the effort that counts right?
So please review again, it'd mean a lot! (And hey, early chapter!) I love hearing what you guys think
