Mini Soldier
Chapter 16

-STEVE-
2 weeks had passed since the whole Steve/Tony/Pepper mess, and Steve had been getting better. He liked to know that at least Bucky knew what he was doing when he died, that he did not go with unsaid things. Though, he wished Bucky had said something about his feelings.
At the moment, Steve was munching on some yogurt, granola and fruit. He was listening to a story Clint was telling (something about Budapest). "So then… Natasha—"
"What are you going on about now, Clint?"
Both men look over to find Natasha standing there, her eyebrow raised and her hip cocked to one side. Clint huffed softly, opening his mouth to say something more, thinking Natasha was being unfair but instead, she stuffed a strawberry into his mouth.
Clint chocked for a moment or two, Steve growing nervous for him before Clint recovered (he always was kind of a diva). Clint swallowed the strawberry and narrowed his eyes at the redhead. "Hey! I was telling Steve a story!"
"That's top secret."
"What is?"
"You know very well— Budapest is."
Steve shrugged it off, as he went back to eating his food when he felt one of the twins kick. He paused in mid-bite to place his hand on his belly, looking quite surprised. He then smiled. He hadn't even noticed both agents were watching him.
He had 14 weeks left. He'd be a papa soon.
If only Tony was here to enjoy it with me. Steve thought sadly.
"Hey, don't think about him Steve," Natasha ordered causing Steve to look up. He hadn't been crying as much as he had at first once finding out Bucky had died but he still was slightly emotional. And he had every right to be! "Whenever you think about him, you get all sad and your eyes seem to darken. They get cloudy."
Clint was also watching him closely. "Are the twins kicking?" He asked, trying to change the topic, knowing that Natasha was making Steve uncomfortable.
Steve nodded. "Yes, they're both kicking. Do you want to feel it?"
"Heck yes!" Clint rushed forward almost, forgetting his food and went to touch Steve's belly. "I've always wanted to feel a baby's kick!"
Natasha mumbled something in German, "Wie soll ich mit diesem Idioten behandeln?"
"Hey I hear that!" Clint said frowning causing Steve to look confused. Clint replied back in German leaving Steve looking even more confused. He didn't understand what they were talking about.
Oh well right?

Later that day, Steve had a terrible craving for strawberry jam, pancakes and pickles. As he was looking for the pickles and jam, he found that they were all out. He had already begun to cook the pancakes and everyone was out doing something today. Clint and Natasha had a mission. Bruce had been called in by SHIELD for a project. Tony had gone into work (surprising Steve knows). And Thor was out seeing Jane.
Steve sighed as he went to turn on the stove.
"Pancake cravings, I see."
He whipped around to find Loki standing there. Oh yes, Steve had forgotten the God of Mischief had returned to the tower. Steve placed a hand on his chest, taking in a deep breath. "Didn't hear you come in." Steve said.
Loki shrugged, "I didn't want you to."
Loki had taken to watching the hit show The Big Bang Theory. Steve had watched a few episodes with him, and could say he fairly enjoyed it. However, since Loki had gone to Asgard, Steve hadn't had time to watch the show and had been trying to get ready for the twins.
Loki was a Sheldon.
"So pancake craving," Loki said bringing them back to the topic he so wanted. "You seem to be in distress."
Steve slowly nodded. "Yes, we're out of strawberry jam and pickles. And you can't have pancakes without them." He explained, feeling one of the twins kick.
Loki nodded. "I agree, simply because I understand the feeling."
"How so?" asked Steve. He had forgotten the talk he had had with Thor about Loki.
The God raised an eyebrow. "Steve, I too, have been pregnant. Yes, it was a long time ago but I still have been pregnant."
Steve's mouth fell open. "Huh?"
Loki rolled his eyes. "Would you wish for me to go to the store to get you your pickles and jam?"
"Why would you be so kind?" Steve asked. Loki had been kinder towards him since Steve announced his pregnancy.
"I was alone with I was pregnant," Loki explained. "Nobody offered to get me my craving food and you're in a place right now. I heard you broke it off with Anthony?"
"I did,"
"Why?"
Steve sighed. "Pepper— his ex-girlfriend—"
"I know who she is."
He narrowed his eyes at the god. "Well, she wants to get back together with Tony and he won't let her go… how can I be with somebody who can't let go of their past relationship?"
Loki eyed him warily. "Did you not go visit Peggy for months when you first came back? Did you not or did you visit Peggy every chance you got because you loved her? Oh, and let us not forget when James Barnes came back into the picture. You spent all your time with him. Were you not there saying words when Peggy passed away? Did you not say words at James' funeral?" Loki asked, seeing the blonde look down at his feet. It was a low blow to Steve.
"They're from my past! How am I supposed to let them go?"
"And Pepper is from Anthony's past. She was his first real love, did you not know?" Loki reminded Steve, "Because of said relationship, Anthony was able to be with you and love you for the past few weeks."
"You know he hates it when you call him Anthony." Steve said trying to change the topic.
"And that is exactly why I do it." Loki said simply. "Now, shall I go out and get you your craving treats?"
"Yes please." Steve said before Loki nodded, and left to get the food. Steve was once more, left alone but at least he had a new idea on things. A new view on everything…

-TONY-
Tony sat in his office, which he had reclaimed after the whole breakup with Pepper. He was once more, CEO of Stark Industries. His father would be proud.
He wore his gray suit with light blue button up shirt. His suit jacket was not buttoned up. He could easily see his Arc Reactor and for once, he didn't mind.
Not when Steve usually enjoyed using it to read one of his cheesy books… Tony thought grumpily. He missed the blonde. He missed the way Steve would smile brightly at him when he entered the room or when Steve's smile would just brighten at seeing him. He needed the blonde in his life. Tony missed Steve.
He was thinking about the whole thing and he was coming to the fact that he didn't want Pepper beside him when he died. He wanted Steve.
And let God know I'll be dying soon. I'm old. I did drugs. I drank a lot. Why wouldn't I die soon? Tony thought sadly. And just how am I supposed to go on without Steve anyway?
And then he knew what he had to do.
He had to do everything he could to get Steve back.
There is nothing in this world that will stop me from winning Steve back. NOTHING! Get ready Stevie, Tony's coming to get ya.
Let the games begin.
Up Next: Tony returns home to find Steve eating pancakes with Loki watching Baby Mama. Things get heated when Loki protects Steve from Tony.
So that is chapter 16. I liked the whole Loki/Steve moment, did you? And Tony has a renewed fire to get Steve to be his, yay! What did you guys think of the tiny Clint/Natasha moment, hmm? WELL REVIEW PLEASE
