CHAPTER 13
A/N: Hey guys! I'm back with another chapter! I'm glad I'm updating on time now. And I now have 44 reviews! I'm almost at 50! Thank you for all the support! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own anything except for the plot and any OC'S.
"W-what are you talking about, Dr. Andrew? Why are you saying sorry?" Kim asked, stuttering. She was a nervous wreck! "I think you should hear it from your grandparents, honey." Dr. Andrew said. "Grandma, grandpa! What's happened? Why are you crying?" Kim asked tears spilling from her own eyes. Her grandmother put a hand on Kim's shoulder. Jack already knew what had happened by reading their minds. Poor Kim. Poor Alex. Jack thought.
"H-Honey. Alex's brain tumor... I-It spread. There is nothing more to do. S-She is very weak and her heart rate is slow. She doesn't have much time lef-left. W-We have already c-called your Aunt Ella. She is on her way, sweetie." Her grandmother told her. Kim went into shock. Her heart stung. Her body had shocks going all over it. The bad kind. There was nothing more she could do. She thought her sister would make it. Her hope was now replaced with sorrow.
"I want to see her." Kim said with tears freely falling down her rosy cheeks. "She is inside. You can g-go see her." Her grandma said, stuttering because she was crying. Kim nodded and walked slowly to the door that her soon to be gone baby sister was in. She wiped away all her tears and took a deep breath. She put on a smile and slowly turned the doorknob. She opened the door and walked in.
Her sister slowly looked up to Kim. "K-K-Ki-Ki-Kim?" Her sister said. Her voice was raspy and weak. The stuttering had gotten worse. "I-I-I'm g-go-goi-goin-going t-t-t-to d-die t-t-today. I-I a-a-am s-sorry f-f-fo-for l-leav-leaving y-yo-you." Every single word broke Kim's heart. Alex could barely talk! The words that came out of her mouth were so weak. "N-No honey. You are going t-to see me again. I will come see you, mommy and daddy up in paradise very soon. Don't say sorry. I-I love you, A-Alex." Kim said, also stuttering because she was crying.
Alex tried to reach out her hand and touch Kim's but her hand suddenly dropped. Kim gasped. "A-Alex? Alex!" Kim shouted. No response. The heart rate monitor on the table beside them stopped beeping. It showed a straight line. "ALEX! NO!" Kim cried out. Kim held Alex's limp hand in her's as she cried. Her grandparents, Aunt Ella and Jack came into the room. They were all sobbing while Jack had a look of sorrow and mourn on his face.
She was a good little girl. Such a terrible thing happened to her. Jack thought. Kim sobbed. She just sat next to Alex, holding her little motionless hand. "Why did this happen?! How could this happen! Alex!" Kim cried and yelled. Her Aunt Ella came next to her and sat down, sobbing as well. She put one hand on Kim's shoulder and the other on Alex's cheek. Her grandparents sat on the other side, crying and sobbing. Jack went and stood behind Kim. He rubbed soothing circles on her back.
She turned around and bunched his shirt in her fists. She buried her head in his chest and just sobbed. Jack just whispered things like "Everything will be okay." and "Alex would want you to be happy." As he held her head to his chest and let her cry. There was nothing more to do. They all just sat in the room all day. It was such a depressed atmosphere. The air was filled with mourn and sorrow. The doctor wanted to interrupt and say Alex's body had to be covered and put into a special room. But he decided against it and let the family spend time in the room next to Alex.
Hey guys! I know this was really short compared to the other chapters but I promise that the next one will be longer. This was kind of depressing I know. But trust me, it gets better. There really wasn't much to write in this chapter because it just wouldn't fit in if it was all in one chapter. So I saved more for the next.
Don't forget to REVIEW! Thanks for reading!
