Things started getting festive in the castle because the wedding was still on. During the festivities, Sapphire's uncle, James, and her cousin, Stephanie, showed up. Everyone was happy about the weddings, but no one was more happy than Sagittarius and Adam. The two princes were the most happy because of Belle and Sapphire. They were surprised that the girls still wanted to go through with the wedding, despite that they were attacked not to long ago by Karlitis, the Comtesse's son. Even though everybody was happy about the wedding, there was still one thing that was still being kept from the royals, except Queen Henrietta: Belle and Sapphire's pregnancy. Nobody needed to know that yet, Sagittarius, Adam, Sapphire, Belle and Henrietta kept their mouths shut about it until Sagittarius marries Sapphire and Adam marries Belle.
After the festivities were done and over with, Cogsworth and Brimley urged that Sagittarius and Adam can't see Belle and Sapphire until the next day at the wedding. Of course, Sapphire was complaining about it because it was just a superstitious myth, but Sagittarius quickly calmed her down about it. As for Adam and Belle, they decided not to fight it, even though the two of them would rather stay together. After saying good night, the four of them went into separate rooms. Sapphire did a small favor for Belle and brought Belle's mother's wedding dress in her room rather than stay in Sapphire's room.
When Belle got to her old room, she locked the door and looked around the room. She knew that once tomorrow is over, this won't be her room anymore. She and Adam will have the same bedroom. She still remembered when the Beast gave her the room, he sent her father away after volunteering to take his place. The Beast didn't let her stay in the cold damp tower, he gave her that room before demanding that she would join him for dinner.
"He's certainly changed since the day I met him." Belle said to herself, "I'm glad that I did take my father's place...otherwise, I don't know what would've happened if I hadn't." Before getting her mind too involved in the past, Belle went over to her closet. She opened it to see her mother's wedding dress, hanging with all its wonderful beauty. "I still wonder how mother got this wonderful dress." She thought out loud, "Maman must've been so beautiful when she married papa."
"You'll look more beautiful than I would." A female voice said, Belle jumped when she heard it. She quickly turned around and saw her mother, sitting on her daughter's bed and smiling at her.
"Mother," Belle said calmly, "what are you doing here?"
"My little girl's finally getting married." Veronica said, trying to hold tears back as she got up on her feet.
"Maman, don't cry!" Belle said walking up to her, "You're always a mess when you cry."
"I can't help it." Veronica said in an almost high-pitched voice. "I really didn't think I would see this day...I really didn't."
"I didn't think I would ever get to this day either, maman." Belle added, "I've had two men chasing me and all they saw out of me was my beauty, they didn't like the fact that I wanted to be independent. Even to this day, I'm actually surprised Adam accepted me for who I am and...didn't want me to change."
"As I taught you," Veronica added, not holding tears back anymore. "Things aren't always what they seem." Belle nodded her head as she hugged her mother. "So," Veronica added, "when were you going to tell me?" Belle's face dropped as she released her mother.
"Tell you what?" She asked.
"Ma fille chérie," Veronica said, "I'm not stupid or dumb!" She then pointed at her daughter's stomach. "So...how far along are you?" She quickly asked, but Belle put her hands on her mouth and looked around.
"Mother, be careful saying it out loud!" Belle pushed, "Adam and I plan not to let it slip until after we're married. Promise you won't tell until then! Promise me!" Veronica quickly nodded her head 'yes'. Belle breathed a sigh of relief as she removed her hands from her mother's mouth.
"Something happened to make the two of you not talk about it." Veronica said, that's when she saw her daughter put on a look of gloom.
"Mother, I rather not talk about it." Belle said, "Not when the wedding is tomorrow."
"Fine, I won't push it." Veronica said, "But, I do have some advice for you."
"Like what?" Belle asked.
"Make sure you may attention to your food cravings!" Veronica pushed, "If you're hungry, day or night, don't ignore it! Otherwise you're going to lose control over yourself."
"What do you mean, Maman?" Belle asked.
"Babies to magical beings, especially to Mythical Fauna Creatures, are like parasites."
"Parasites?" Belle asked, Veronica decided not to tell her daughter what a parasite is.
"Well, think of it this way, babies absorb the energy their mother gets when she eats."
"Oh, so...they...grow by absorbing the food their mother eats?"
"Yes, exactly." Veronica answered, "Just like other babies, the only thing different is that if you don't eat enough, the 'you know what' will take control of you and will make you eat until the both of you are satisfied."
"I guess I need to make sure my dresses are a larger size." Belle started to think.
"Not exactly," Veronica added, "but I think I'll leave that part for you to figure out. Right now, I've got something else to take of. You get some sleep."
"All right," Belle said reaching for her nightgown, "have a good night, Maman." Veronica went out of Belle's room and disguised herself as one of the servants. Veronica wandered around the castle until she came to the room that she was looking for.
"Tomorrow's the day." Maurice said to himself as he looked out his window. "I wish you could be here to see this, my lovely Veronica. Our wonderful daughter in your wedding dress." He made a happy sigh, "You were so beautiful in that dress. Well, maybe I'm over exaggerating, but no one can compare how wonderful you were, my lovely Veronica."
"Is that so?" A female voice asked, Maurice jumped and looked around his room, but he didn't see anyone.
"Hmm, I'm probably hearing things." Maurice told himself.
"Maurice, I know you better than you may think!" The female voice spoke again, Maurice looked around again, but he still didn't see anyone.
"I know someone is here." Maurice said, "Show yourself."
"Very well, since you asked." The female voice spoke, "Look behind you." Maurice looked behind himself and saw a woman with hair, eyes and clothes in different colors of the rainbow. "It's been a long time, Maurice."
"W-w-who are you?" He asked.
"Don't recognize me, huh?" she asked, "Maybe this will help." Before Maurice could predict it, he got a swift blow on the head. When he felt that blow, he really didn't know what to think because he hadn't had a swift blow like that since his wife was alive. "Remember me now?" She asked as she crossed her arms.
"It can't be." Maurice said, rubbing his head. "V-V-V-Veronica?" The woman nodded her head 'yes', Maurice simply couldn't believe it. His dead wife was standing in front of him, alive and breathing. "You're dead...and you had black hair with green eyes!"
"I was," Veronica said, "but not anymore, I'm alive with a beating heart."
"But how?" He asked, Veronica made a sneaky smile and grabbed Maurice by his shirt collar with both hands.
"Would you believe that you married a sorceress?" She asked, Maurice didn't say a word. "My empress of the magical world brought me back from the grave."
"If you were...a sorceress...the whole time we've been married, why...didn't you tell me?" Maurice asked.
"Because I was guarding a powerful item!" Veronica answered as she dropped Maurice. "I kept the real me from you and Belle to protect the two of you. So, now you know about me. Belle already knows about me being alive and being a sorceress long before you did. I was going to tell you...until you broke your promise to me!"
"I never broke a promise to you, my sweet!" Maurice quickly said, but Veronica's heart was still sore.
"Yes, you did!" She pushed, "You promised me that you never allow another woman to catch your heart! You said I was the only one for you! You promised me that you would never kiss another woman! You broke those promises to me. The night I decided to tell you...you kissed a woman wearing a purplish-pink outfit!" Maurice now remembered that he did kiss Mrs. Potts.
"I didn't think you wanted me alone and...groveling over your death." He said, Veronica groaned as she rubbed her forehead.
"You also didn't know the real me." She said, "So I can't put all the blame on you...or any of it on you. I just...don't think you loved me like you used to." When Maurice heard that, his own heart almost snapped in two. "So...if you do feel that way, then I won't be your life, but I will be in our daughter's life!"
"How could you think that?" Maurice asked, "I've never stopped thinking about you! You were the greatest thing to have happen to me...well, next to our daughter's birth."
"I figured that." Veronica said, "All right, I'll forgive you...if you forgive me."
"You're my wife," Maurice said, "despite all those blows to the head you gave me, I've always been there for you and always forgave you."
"Good, now you can't tell anyone that lives outside the castle about me and by outside the castle, I mean the royals that are visiting here." Veronica said, "If you do, both of us will get in trouble with my empress...and she'll give you worse than my blows to the head." Maurice just nodded his head, he never doubted his wife before. "Very well, so just keep your mouth shut and we'll be just fine."
"My mouth is sealed, sweetheart!" Maurice quickly said, but he started to see a sneaky smile on his wife's face. "Veronica, why are you looking at me like that?"
"Maurice...how long has it been since you kissed me?"
