Good news Readers! I'm finally on holiday break which will mean I'll have more time to work on the story. In case the thought has passed your mind, yes, we are getting very close to the wedding!
After saying good night to Belle, Adam took a lit candle and went to his room. When he got to his room, it was almost pitch black.
"Hmm, I guess the fire in the fireplace went out." Adam said to himself as he sat his candle on the mantel. He put some logs in the fireplace and threw the candle in there.
"You probably lose more candles that way." A female voice spoke, Adam quickly turned around, expecting someone there, but there wasn't. "Your highness, up here." Adam looked up and saw a white owl flying near the top of the ceiling. The owl quickly flew back to the ground and started to transform. Adam saw that the white owl had transformed into Lady Temps. She stood there, dusting off her sleeves and robes.
"Citron said you wanted to see me?" Lady Temps asked as she swept off her shoes.
"She told me and Belle that...you went after the man that's been stalking her." Adam said.
"I just decided to take matters into my hands." Lady Temps answered, "If there's anything I can't stand, it's having women being stalked."
"Not being nosy, Lady Temps, but you sound like you were a...victim of the same thing."
"Not me," she said, "I was referring to Lady Gabrielle, whose clarinet your mother and Veronica were guarding." Adam remembered when Rouge told him and Belle about Lady Gabrielle and how she sealed her powers into six items after her clarinet was stolen and used for evil. She also died from a broken heart after scattering those six items between the human world and the world of magic.
"Something tells me that you knew her the most." Adam said, that's when Lady Temps sighed.
"Lady Gabrielle...was my baby sister." She answered, when Adam heard that, he felt very bad for her.
"Lady Temps, I-I-I-I didn't mean..."
"Don't worry about it," She said, " Gabby was always more comfortable with her music and singing than she was with the family. My other sisters and I were having difficulty getting along with her, probably because we all thought she was papa's princess. Before I get to far into my own family, I know there's another reason on why you wanted to speak to me."
"Uh...first thing though," Adam said as he looked over at the door and looked back at Lady Temps. "Do I have your word and the empress of the world of magic that you won't tell this to anyone until Belle and I are married tomorrow?"
"Hmm, of course, you do." Lady Temps said as she grabbed a lock of her white hair with her thumb and pointer finger. She pulled her hair between her two fingers and, as it did, her hair turned black. Adam didn't even look shocked and didn't even ask because...even though he heard it from Lady Temps herself that she was very kind, he still felt a touch afraid of her because of the great power she had. "So, what is it that you have to tell me?"
"My soon-to-be bride, whose mother guarded one-half of your sister's clarinet, is pregnant." He answered, "I need to know if there's anything that might..."
"You're worried that, because the two of you are only half-magical beings, might complicate the baby?" She asked, Adam turned his head away, but he nodded 'yes'. "Well, you're not the first half-sorcerer to have children, but the only difference is you and your bride chose to be magical beings."
"Lady Temps," Adam said as he crossed his arms, "You know that is far from the truth."
"I was trying to make it sound better, but back to what I was saying, the only difference is that you and Belle are magical beings. Even I don't know what will happen with your child, whether he...or she will be like the two of you...or...a regular human...like both your fathers." When Adam heard that, boy, did he want to shout his head off, but he knew he was talking to the empress of the world of magic and the sorceress of time.
"Lady Temps, I know what powers you posses and forgive for getting upset," he said, "but don't you dare...bring up...my father!"
"I should've known he would be a touchy subject." Lady Temps said, "I'm sorry for bringing him up, but as you know, I was just explaining about the possibilities."
"I know." Adam answered, "But it's hard for me not to react when he's mentioned."
"Sorry, but as I said, you can expect your child to be a magical being or a regular human being. Unlike you and Belle, the child won't have a choice, but I know that you'll love him or her whether she's a magical being or not."
"You're right, I really don't care if he or she is born as a magical being or a human being, I'll give our child more love than my own father did to me."
"Adam," Lady Temps added, "I may not completely understand about what you're feeling about your father, but if you're not careful, that anger you hold will haunt you for the rest of your life."
"Hmm, are you referring to your jealousy to your sister?" He asked.
"Not exactly," Lady Temps said, "Gabby and I were almost never jealous of each other, it was my older sisters who couldn't over it. They believed that Gabby was a spoiled brat because she had father to herself most of the time. There was a reason behind that...and yet my sisters and my brother couldn't get it through their thick heads."
"What do you mean by that, Lady Temps? You've been acting like you're hiding something."
"I'm not," She said, "remember when I said I was talking about Gabby being stalked?" Adam nodded his head 'yes'. "She had a reminder till the day she died."
"What happened?"
"Her stalker went as far as attacking her, just like your father did to your mother. Since Gabby was the youngest, father was always had his eye on her. When he saw Gabby being attack, he attacked the stalker. The stalker didn't want to give up my baby sister. Before my father sent him away to the Pit of Fire and Darkness, Gabby's stalker threw a beam of magic at her. That beam deformed her mouth, her teeth were razor-sharp with her canine teeth sticking out, like with your teeth when you were the Beast, Adam."
"Lady Temps, I'm very sorry about what happened to your sister." Adam said.
"Hmm, nobody knew my baby sister like I did." Lady Temps said with a small smile. "Because her mouth was deformed, everyone thought she was scary and didn't want anything to do with her. Papa stayed with her for a long time, at least until Gabby decided to live here, in the human world. My sister wore turtlenecks and scarves to hide her mouth. She certainly didn't want the humans to be scared of her; she never revealed her mouth unless she was alone in her house."
"What about when she ate?" He asked.
"She never ate outside her house." She answered, "Gabby would decline invitations to dinners, lunches or parties because she didn't want to scare anyone because of her mouth. Everything else on her was like looking at heaven, she was that beautiful, not bragging about it myself. When that sorcerer stole her magic clarinet, it was because he didn't think such a powerful item should belong to a woman...with a demon's look on her face." After Lady Temps said that, she got so upset that she punched a hole in Adam's wall. It wasn't until after she did it did she notice the hole she made.
"Hmm, I thought I was the only one who could make holes like that." Adam said as Lady Temps repaired the hole, like it never was made in the wall.
"Sorry," Lady Temps said, "this is why I don't talk much about my baby sister because everytime I do, something gets punched. This time, it was your wall."
"Well, I didn't mean to open up more wounds, Lady Temps. I guess I'm just as curious as Belle is."
"Curiosity can sometimes be dangerous," she said, "but it also give you answers that you never thought of. Just like how I thought about what else Gabby sealed away besides her power."
"What more could she seal away?" Adam asked.
"Well, my baby sister was more than the sorceress of music." Lady Temps said, now knowing she's going to reveal something she hoped not to reveal till much later. "My parents held the powers that kept darkness and light separate. When it came time to pass it on to my brother or me or one of my sisters, they wanted to make sure that whoever had it will be responsible if the powers mixed together."
"Are you saying that the powers once collided?" He asked.
"Yes, when that sorcerer stole Gabby's clarinet, it wasn't until then did I and my siblings find out that Maman and Papa gave those powers to Gabby, but when Gabby fixed what happened, she felt like she failed my parents by keeping darkness and light separate."
"Are you also thinking that she sealed those powers away as well as her own?"
"Yes, because on the day Gabby died, I found an very old stone with a prophecy." She answered, "The prophecy said that the darkness and light will intertwine three times and during the third time, the only one who can seal it away will be the child of half-sorceresses. The first time it happened is when Gabby sealed it away, the second time was when Belle saved all our lives against Fiona. I really hope that the third time won't happen because...I'm not sure what will happen if it does."
"You're thinking that my child will be the child in the prophecy?" Adam asked in shock.
"You and Belle are the first ones to be magical beings even though you have one parent that's a human and the other is a magical being." Lady Temps said, "Even I don't want to believe it, but consider the other two times happened and that I destroyed her clarinet, the other five items are more stronger."
"Then we have to find them!"
"No, we just need to find one of them." She said, "I found Gabby's diary and found where four of the five items now are. There's just one left and it's the most powerful than all six, or five, combined. Adam, this was something that I didn't want to tell you or Belle or your mothers until much later, but I need you to promise not to tell them until your child is born." Hearing all what Lady Temps said made Adam concerned, what would happen if the last bit of the prophecy came true?
"All right," Adam finally answered, "I'll keep my mouth shut, but you better make good on your promises!"
"I always do." Lady Temps said as she pulled out one of her pocket watches to look at the time. "It's time for me to go and for you to get some sleep before your wedding." She then transformed back into an owl and flew out of the room through the balcony doors. Adam tried to get himself ready for bed, but hearing what Lady Temps told him had shaken him. Could his son or daughter be the child to separate the powers of darkness and light forever, like Lady Gabrielle's prophecy said?
I hope you're enjoying yourselves, readers. I need some help on ideas for the ceremony, please say in the reviews or PM me, thank you!
