CHAPTER 20

Hey guys! Here is chapter 20! There really isn't much to say. But I want to let you guys know that I won't be updating as quick as I used too. School started and exams are coming up so I have a lot on my plate. Just be patient with me!

"Are you ready, Kim?" Jack asked as the blonde girl walked down the stairs. She was wearing a long sleeved cream colored top that had black horizontal stripes on it with black skinny jeans. She paired it up with cream colored flats. Her hair was down and wavy. She wore slight makeup. Just lipgloss, mascara and eyeshadow. She wanted to look good for the occasion.

"Do I have to do this?" Kim whined. Jack chuckled. "Yes. Now lets go." Jack said. The couple walked out of the house and went to the car. They got in and Jack started the engine. Kim was nervous. She was VERY nervous. What was she nervous about? She was nervous about meeting Jack's family. "I know that you would like to know about my family before you meet them." Jack said, reading Kim's thoughts. Kim nodded.

"Well, my family consists of my two brothers, two sisters and parents. We call our parents by their first names unless we are infront of people. My parent's names are Edward and Bella. My oldest sibling is my brother, Nickaloy. He goes by Nick. Then comes my sister, Renesme. She goes by Esme. Then my brother Jerrimiah. He prefers Jerry. Then my sister Angelina. She only lets people call her Lina. Like how you prefer Kim over Kimberly." Jack explained.

"Go on." Kim said. "My parents are very kind people. We don't hunt humans. We only hunt animals. We think of ourselves as vegetarians." Jack chuckled. "Nick is the most mature. Not because he is the oldest. But because he controls his cravings best. Almost as good as our parents. Maybe even better. Jerry on the other hand, is quite the opposite. He still has trouble with his cravings for human blood. He is 158 years old. He is the newest turned. We are all above three hundred years old. Jerry is second oldest in human years." Jack said.

Kim nodded for him to continue. "Nick was turned when he was 23, Jerry turned at 21, Renesmee was turned at 19 and Lina was turned at 18. In vampire age, Renesmee is oldest because she turned first, then Nick, then Lina and then Jerry. Renesmee, Lina and Nick can control their cravings well. Jerry still has a little bit of trouble. Don't get scared if he stiffens up when you are near. Lina is bit... angry. She gets tensed and angry easily but she is the nicest person you will ever know if you get to know her." Jack said.

"So I have to cover up any paper cuts near Jerry?" Kim asked, jokingly. Jack chuckled. "Yes, you actually do." He replied. "And we are almost here." Jack turned a the left and drove onto a path in the woods. He went straight up and made a right. That was when a modern home came up. It was very big. Not exactly a mansion, but bigger than a normal house. It was almost all windows. But you couldn't see what was in the inside. Jack parked the car. "Let's go." He said.

The two got out and Kim just stood there. "Will they like me?" She asked. Jack laughed. "So you are more worried about whether or not they will like you, more than being in a room full of vampires?" Jack joked. Kim nodded innocently. Jack just shook his head and smiled. He grabbed her hand and led her to the main entrance. They went inside and Kim was in awe. It was beautiful! There was a fern near the main door and everything just looked very modern.

She had never seen such a unique, beautiful house. "The others are in the kitchen. Let's go." Jack said. Kim prayed that everything would be okay and walked further into the mysterious home. He led her to the kitchen, where everyone was talking around the island. They stopped chatting once they noticed the presence of a mortal. Jack smirked. "Everybody, this is Kim. Kim, this is Jerry, Nick, Esme and Lina. These are my parents." Jack introduced.

Kim noticed Jerry stiffen up at her presence. She tried not to get scared. But she was still a bit nervous. "Welcome to our home, Kim." Bella said kindly. She smiled warmly at Kim. She was a very pretty women. She had long dark brown hair and big, brown eyes. She had beautiful facial structures. Kim smiled back. "Hello." She replied. "We are very happy to have you." Edward said. "Thank you." Kim said.

Nick noticed how vervous and stiff she was. He could tell that she was scared. "Don't be nervous. We won't bite. Well, no promises about Jerry." Nick joked. Kim forced out a chuckle. Esme punched his arm. "Don't scare her away, idiot!" Esme scolded him. She then turned to Kim. "It's really nice to meet you. You are prettier than how Jack described you. He always just goes on and on-" She was cut off.

"Shut up." Jack said. Kim chuckled, getting a little more confortable around the family. Esme rolled her eyes. "I can tell that we are going to be great friends!" She said joyfully. Lina on the other hand did not seem so happy. Her arms were crossed and she was leaning on one leg. She rolled her eyes and seemed VERY annoyed. She looked at all the objects and furniture in the room and avoided to make eye contact with Kim, whatsoever.

Jerry suddenly left the kitchen. Instead of going towards the doorway, where Kim was standing, he chose to climb out of the window. "He'll be fine. He just needs some fresh air." Bella said. Lina has had enough. "Look, I don't know much about you. But you need to earn my friendship. And by that, I mean if you want me to tolerate you presence enough so that I don't hurt you, then you are going to have to not snitch. Because if you tell people about us, we are screwed. And I'll bring you down with me." Lina stated harshly. She then stamped out of the room, without a care in the world.

Kim was taken aback by her harsh and rude tone. The others could tell by her facial expression. "Don't worry about her. She is always like that with new comers. She will get used to you in no time. Just be sure to be on her good side." Edward said. Kim just nodded and Jerry came back into the house. He didn't do or say anything. He just stood there. He gave a small smile to let everyone know that he was okay.

"How about we give you a tour?" Esme asked. "Sounds great." Kim replied. She led everyone out of the kitchen. She walked to the living room. That is when Kim accidentally scraped her elbow against the doorway. That is when Kim's elbow started to hurt. That is when blood showed on her soft, once unharmed skin. That is when Jerry's fangs shot out and his eyes turned blood red.
