CHAPTER 21

Kim's eyes widened as she froze when Jerry lunged at her. Even though Jack and Nick had fast reflexes, they still weren't fast enough to get to their brother in time. By the time Jerry was held back by Jack and Nick, Kim's sleeve with ripped and there was a cut on her bear skin, running out. Nick and Edward dragged Jerry out while Bella grabbed the first aid kit. She wiped the blood with gauze and stuck a band aid on cut. "You should be fine." She said. Kim nodded.
Everyone stood in an awkward silence. It was soon broken by Nick when he came into the kitchen. "Jerry went out hunting." He informed. Bella nodded. "Let's go, Kim." Jack said. "But she just got here!" Renesmee exclaimed. Jack let out a growl. "We are leaving." He said, taking Kim out of the kitchen. She turned back and waved goodbye with a smile, making sure to leave a good impression.
Jack led Kim to the car and they got in. "Jack, you know I'm not mad. Or hurt. I'm fine. Jerry is still a newborn, right? It is hard for him to control his hunger. Chill. It's fine." Kim said, trying to calm down Jack. Jack let out a sigh. "I know. But I just can't stand the thought of you getting hurt." Jack said, starting the engine. Kim smiled and pecked him on the cheek.
"Where are we going?" Kim asked. "Where do you want to go?" Jack asked. Kim thought for a minute. "How about the beach?" She asked. Jack smiled. "Alright. It's a nice gloomy day for the beach." He said. Jack started the engine and they were on their way. They talked about random things. Nothing at all really. Just generel stuff.
Once they were at the beach, Jack and Kim took off their shoes and folded up their pants so that they won't get wet. They walked hand in hand along the shore as the water just barely brushed their feet. After a few minutes of enjoying the cool water below their feet, they went and sat down on the sand.
"So what about our future? What's next? Do we just keep going like this? I mean, we can't date until I'm like eighty." Kim said. Jack chuckled. "I don't know. But whatever it is, I want my future to be with you." Jack said. Kim smiled. "But Jack, I'm serious. We can't just date forever. You said you would turn me after I turn sixteen. I'm turning sixteen this month." Kim said seriously.
Jack sighed. "I know. But I just want you to be able to have a good life, Kim. I don't want you to have to go through what we are going through. You don't realize what you have. You have life. If you become one of us, you will have to live forever. Which means you will have to go through the same routines, watch everyone you have known since childhood grow old and die, leave your family. There are a lot of drawbacks. I just want you to have a normal life. Have a family." Jack said.
"Are you saying you want to leave me? After all these years of searching for the right girl, you just want to leave me? Jack, it's not your choice. I'm choosing it. I want to live forever. With you." Kim said. Jack sighed. "I'll think about it. And I have to ask Edward and Bella. And are you okay with leaving your aunt? Are you okay with leaving everything behind? You need to tell her the truth. You need to make sure that it's okay with her too." Jack said.
"Fine. But are you okay with me telling her? And what if she thinks it's a bad idea? What if she wants us to break up?" Kim panicked. "Relax, Kim. Everything happens for a reason. You are my soulmate. We will end up together no matter what. Trust me on that." He said. Kim sighed. So I might not get turned and we will be dating when I am thirty?" Kim asked. Jack chuckled. "No." They both just sat there. Thinking everything was over. And everything was fine. But someone had been watching them the whole time. Someone dangerous.
They just chatted for a few more minutes until they thought it was time to head back home. "I'll walk home. I haven't done that in a long time. It's just five minutes away from here. Everything is over, right? There is nobody that wants to murder me." Kim joked. "I guess so." Jack replied. He decided that Kim should have her space.
