Epilogue
One month later…
Sasha was on patrol, examining the city as the citizens toiled away at its repairs. It had been a grueling month, but thanks to funding from Historia herself, they could get the supplies they needed for repairs. She made it to a spot she'd been hoping to see for a while, the plaza.
Finally, she made it to what she wanted to see this whole time. On the east end of the plaza, the town had a monument built. It was made from a shard of crystal they found outside the city, most likely one of Berlot's shards meant to be aimed at Godzilla. It was held in place by a rectangular cement base. An engraving bore the names of all the Survey Corps members, both living and recently deceased, who gave their all defending at the 'Assult on Tanakibo' as the Wall-dwellers called it.
She read the names. She knew most of them, others she never talked to. Sasha smiled at two mentions on the list. The first was hers; Sasha 'Potato Girl' Blouse. The second was Anguirus's name. She guessed the others let that one happen. After her chuckle, she frowned. The other Corps members had already left, her friends among them. She was ordered to stay behind for a 'special' assignment.
"Miss Blouse!" a scout rushing over to her said.
"At ease," she said, "Speak up."
"We have a class 3," he said, "We'll need you at the bunker.
Sasha sighed. Duty calls.
One hour later…
About fifty feet away from the city, Franklin and Rodney were sweating something fierce. They had been working for about a week on the city entrance, repairing the damage caused most likely by either a Gorgosaurs or a Varan. If they looked to their right, they could see the mostly-done repairs around the entirety of Tanakibo.
"So," Rodney asked while pounding in a stake, "Did 'ya here about the trial in the Walls?"
"Yeah," Franklin answered, pouring in concrete. "Why? Is it over?"
"Yep!" Rodney answered, "She was sentenced to death originally, but Historia herself gave a royal pardon. She now serves a sentence being a subject to lab testing, completely focused on Titan research for the Corps."
"Well that's just-"
"Excuse me gentlemen?" a voice called out.
The two looked down, gazing at a man in robes. It was a few monks from the Wall Cult, alongside Father Monroe.
"Is the city open to outsiders yet?" he continued.
"Not through this entrance it isn't." Rodney called out. "This one's still unstable do to damage."
"Yes," Monroe called out, "I've heard a great deal about what happened. So sorry about the losses. I've come to teach the city of true protection. With the Great Predator returning to hiding and the treat of monsters and Titans, people need the hands of heaven to keep them safe. Perhaps if you fine men accept The Great Architect as your master and protector, then you too can achieve it."
"Well good sir," Franklin said, "that's a good proposal."
Monroe felt the ground quiver. The two construction workers looked into the distance. Monroe turned around to see what they were looking at. In the distance, an almost fully-grown Anguirus was engaged in battle with a Bagorah. He watched as the giant bat tangled with the ankylosaurid.
Finally, after biting onto the Bagorah's wing, he slammed the bat to the ground. Anguirus Sonic Roared into the creature's ear, severely hurting it. In too much pain to continue, the large flying monster fled back into the forest.
Anguirus let loose a victory roar, followed by the 'All-clear' signal flares from the lookout towers. The Townsfolk saw this, leaving whatever shelter they were in to go about their business.
"But I think we've a good protection plan." Franklin said, looking directly at Monroe.
"I'd like to see The Walls do that!" Rodney laughed as they walked off. "Deliverance be with you!"
Monroe was just speechless as Anguirus roared in the direction of the forest. Tanakibo had a new protector, and he wasn't going to take the job lightly.
Monroe, totally speechless, looked back at the gate. The gate had a symbol, similar to what each of the Walls had. But beside the coat-of-arms frame, this one was different. Inside the frame was a familiar silhouette…
Godzilla.
The End.
