Fairy tail Fanfic!

Chapter 13 To Endure! The second sealing!

Reader Notes:

I apologize for the inconsistent publishing of chapters.

If you have not seen my updated profile then you will not know that now I will only have chance to publish chapters every holiday.

This is due to the fact that I don't have as much time to write anymore because of my exams etc.

I also apologize for the last chapter's drop in quality as I have been told was disappointing.

I am going to try to publish at least as much as chapter 15 before January.

Hope you guys enjoy! xD

*Thud*

*Scratch*

*Skid*

"Here it is folks, another sparring match between Gajeel and Ikiru!", Natsu yelled childishly.

"Natsu you really don't have to commentate in the backround ya know", Lucy adressed him.

Natsu completley blanked her and continued, "Wow, they're really going at it!"

"Huh", Lucy sighed.

"Don't be so uptight Lucy he's just messin' around", Gray mentioned.

"I know it's all in good fun right, but someone might actually get hurt."

Everyone from the guild stood by watching the intense sparring match of what Gajeel could get his revenge for or Ikiru could put himself further on-top.

*Swish*

Ikiru's right hand skimmed past Gajeel's left cheek as he twisted his neck to dodge. He then countered by swinging up his right hand from a strange position.

*Thud*

"Huk", Ikiru's head swung itself forward as spit came out of his mouth.

Gajeel pulled his hand away from Ikiru's stomach. In response Ikiru's knees buckled and he fell to the ground.

*Thud*

"And the winner is... Gajeel!", Natsu called out swinging his arm to point at him.

"Yay."

*Clap-Clap-Clap-Clap-Clap*

Amidst the cheering Miyuki approached Ikiru to see if he was alright.

Ikiru flipped over and stared up at the sky. "Uh", he sighed.

"You ok?", she asked gently, kneeling down next to him.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just a little dissapointed", Ikiru replied quietly.

"Well don't be, he's a powerful wizard ya know, nonetheless a dragon slayer."

"But I'm a Demonslayer."

"Well yeah, but you've been in this guild for how long?", she asked Ikiru rhetorically trying to cheer him up.

"Uh, I guess you're right but it still makes me feel bad... I mean, because I didn't win this time does that mean that the last time was just dumb luck?"

"Nah kid, don't say that it was a good fight", Gajeel comforted as he stood over Ikiru.

"Huh, thanks", Ikiru replied picking up his tone, beggining to sound more cheerful.

Gajeel then continued with "Eventhough I kicked your ass! Hahahahaha!"

"Oh yeah! How about we have a fight with our magic!", Ikiru challenged holding his dark orb in his right hand. He had quickly got to his feet.

"Come on and try me!", Gajeel replied confidently with his right arm as a sword.

*Thud*

*Thud*

Levy hit down on the top of Gajeels head and Miyuki hit down on Ikiru's.

"That's enough you two", they both said at the same time.

They both rubbed their heads, "Grr."

"Don't 'Grr' at me", Miyuki pointed at Ikiru.

Team Natsu were stood with Makarov watching the squabble.

"Huh... ya know, sometimes I wonder if she's his mother, sister or lover", Makarov joked to the team.

"Hahaha!" they all laughed out loud.

"Hey what's so funny?", Ikiru asked calling over.

"Oh, nothing", Makarov replied.

Natsu was still giggling behind the hands he covered his mouth with. Gray elbowed him in the side with a big smile on his face, trying to get Natsu to shut up.

Levy smiled at Gajeel and dragged him into the guild hall. Ikiru gripped his right arm with his left, it was throbbing in pain, but he decided not to tell.

"Your wound alright boy?", Makarov asked Ikiru. Gajeel did hit him hard in the stomach.

"Yeah, I guess. But now that I think about it he did that on purpose the dirty..."

"Alright enough chit-chat today you're doing endurance training with Gray", Makarov explained to him.

"Huh", Gray and Ikiru stared. "What!?"

"That was outa' nowhere I'm not ready", Ikiru complained.

"Yeah, way to spring one on me master",Gray took over. "What the hell am I meant to do with the kid?"

"Come inside and I'll explain", Makarov told them turning his back.

Everyone followed the Master inside.

"Ikiru we need to get you stronger and the only way to do that is to train. The next stage of your training will be endurance.", Makarov began to explain. "As we saw, when Gajeel hit your wounded stomach you dropped. You need to be able to keep fighting even after a painful blow."

"Yeah", Ikiru agreed nodding his head.

"But why me?", Gray asked.

"You're used to the cold. One of the best ways to get a tough body is to endure harsh conditions."

"Oh, ok I get it."

"So, Miyuki and I will accompany you and Gray to the Ice mountains tommorow, Ikiru. Their you will fight Gray one on one all out, using magic. No shirts. No pity. No holding back!"

Ikiru looked at Makarov with a blank face and then shouted, "Are you trying to get me killed!"

The attention of most of the guild members was attracted to this conversation between the master and team Natsu.

Ikiru lifted his shirt to show the grusome scar of the knife wound. "I wouldn't last two minutes with Gray as I am know and with this wound it's even less likley that I'll last! And when it's in an atmosphere that better suits him..."

"Shut your mouth and do what you're told!", the master roared.

Ikiru stopped talking and his head dipped to look at the floor.

"You will battle Gray and that's that! Got it!"

Ikiru didn't answer. He looked depressed.

"Well!?"

"Yes, sir", Ikiru replied quietly.

"Good", Makarov seemed alot more aggrivated than usual. He turned and took a big gulp from his beer glass. "Well, why are you still here? Your training is tommorow. Get ready."

Ikiru turned and ran from the guild hall his head still tilted not showing his face.

"Master, he was only pointing out that he wasn't sure of the training, you didn't have to scold him like that", Erza adressed Makarov. "I mean I agree with him, can you really expect him to have a fair fight with Gray?"

"But that's not why you scolded him, right?", Miyuki put in.

Everyone was curious as to what she meant.

"Please explain what you mean by that?", Erza asked Miyuki.

"His arms they started hurting him again, you noticed it didn't you"

"Uhh."

"That's correct I had to get him away from everyone incase something happens. You know already that he can have emotional flips easily when the energy exerts too much pressure on him. Anyway Luso is already on his way here, so don't worry too much", Makarov explained.

"Are we gonna have to seal him again?", Lucy asked.

"I'm afraid so yes."

"We can't!", Wendy cried out. "You saw how much it was hurting him last time. Considering Ikiru has only just become a legit wizard he's really strong, but when we sealed him... he was crying. He was screaming. We can't do that to him again. Right guys!?"

Wendy looked around to see the solemn faces of everyone around her. Natsu put his hand on her shoulder.

"There's nothing else we can do to stop the demon's energy from taking over his body. If we don't then everyone else will be in danger", Makarov explained.

"Oh, that's awfull."

"It's for his own good, right?", Miyuki added.

"Correct", Makarov agreed. "And after the sealing, the training I was talking about will take place. He needs to get through these stages to improve himself as a wizard. If he improves his physical strength he will be able to accomplish stronger magic."

"Then I guess he can use more molding magic after that because he'll have a bigger magic capacity", Gray added.

"Doesn't the demon add to his magic capacity", Erza asked makarov.

"Only under certain circumstances I'm afraid. When he's under extreme emotional stress, when he's under the demon's influence and on the small possibility that the demon would lend him strength", Makarov explained.

"Poor kid", Natsu gently spoke out.

"I'm gonna go find him", Erza told Miyuki. "You coming?"

"No, I... dont think it's a good idea."

Erza stayed still and silent for a minute while she stared at Miyuki. "Alright then", Erza gently smiled as she dashed out of the guild hall after Ikiru.

After running around a couple of streets Erza found Ikiru, sat alone on a bench.

She sat next to him and pulled his head into her shoulder. "You alright", she asked gently.

"Yeah, I guess. I just didn't think I'd upset him that bad, ya know... but then I continued. I should've just kept my mouth shut", he replied solemnly.

"Hey, don't worry about it, the Master's just a little off today."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah", she assured him.

"You brat!"

Ikiru and Erza's attention was drawn to the shouting.

*Thud*

"Uhh."

*Smash*

"Ahh."

Ikiru stood up to see a young boy being thrown and beaten by a group of thugs.
The boy was wearing ragged black clothes and was thin. He had a small bag of bread wrapped in his arms.

"This is what you get when you steal from us!", one of the thugs yelled picking the boy up by his ragged collar.

Ikiru approached them without a second thought.

"Ikiru don't get involved", Erza stated confidently pulling him backwards by his shoulder. "I'll take care of this."

Ikiru nodded and sat back down on the bench keeping a close watch on the situation.

Erza placed her hand on the thugs arm and pulled it away from the boy. "Gentlemen that's enough don't you think. He's learnt his lesson."

The boy dropped to the floor. Leaving the bag of bread next to him.

"She's Titania from Fairy tail", one of the thugs at the back of the group whispered.
The biggest among the thugs came forward after hissing at his underling, "I know that you idiot!"

"Fairy tail hah, you got lucky this time kid", the leading thug proclaimed as he turned to leave with his crew.

When they turned the boy took up a sinister smile and a knife slid from his right sleeve straight into his hand.

*Swoosh*

He lunged forwards with the knife in both hands.

"Wait!", Erza cried.

The thugs turned to the knife.

*Skid*

Ikiru jumped infront. Immediatley knocking up the boys arms and disarming him.
*Thud*

Without any hesitation the boy through a punch which Ikiru used to swing the boy over his head and plant him on the ground.

*Swish*
*Grab*
*Crash*

"Get off!"

"Calm down!"

"Where you gonna stab me in the back kid?", the big thug asked approaching.

Erza quickly drew her sword and pointed it at the thugs. "That's enough! Now leave."

Thye gave a fierce stare and left.

Ikiru threw the boy onto the bench and dropped the bag of bread next to him.
He threw a small pouch of jewel onto the boys lap aswell.

"Take it to em' and leave", Ikiru stated. He was angered but at the same time he was being kind.

Erza wasn't too sure what he meant until she saw the little kids in ragged clothes hidding around the corner.

"I don't want your pity!", the boy angrily cried.

"Uh", Ikiru sighed, changing his attitude. "Listen kid. I know what it's like I've been there. You're ten right?"

"Yeah", the boy replied reluctantly.

"You're the same age I was when I left home. I thought it would be easy to get a full time job for the money I wanted, but nobody wants to hire a kid. I got myself a weekend job and the rest of the time was streets. Nowhere to go. No-one to help", Ikiru explained. "So trust me when I say this. There's a difference between pity and charity, alright?"

"Yeah."

"And just coz you've got it bad don't mean you can stab people, alright?"

"Yeah."

"You're the oldest aren't ya?"

"Yeah."

Ikiru pulled a bigger bag of jewel from his pocket and gave it to the boy. "Then it's your responsibilty to look after em'."
Ikiru patted the kid on the head and gently said, "Run along now kid."

"Thanks!", the kid called back running to his little gang. They started to chow down on the bread.

"I know it's a true story but you don't have to tell it like you're an old man", Erza adressed Ikiru.

"Uh", he sighed.

"Ha-ha-ha", she laughed. "Let's go back shall we?"

"Yeah, although I still haven't got my stuff ready for tommorow."

"Oh, don't worry about it I'm sure they'll help you out."

"Ya think so... ah", Ikiru cringed mid-sentence and grabbed his arms.

"You alright, what's wrong?", Erza asked eventhough she knew.

"It's nothing, I just, caught myself or something", Ikiru stuttered.

"Alright then, let's hurry."

Erza and Ikiru made their way back to the guild hall quickly. Straight away Ikiru was digging into some food.

As Ikiru finished a meal he dropped his cuttlery on the floor and struggled to try and pick them up.

"Want some help with that?", Miyuki asked as she smiled at him.

"It's alright I got it", Ikiru further struggled. But Miyuki ignored him and picked them up fro him.

"Thanks", he smiled taking the plates and cuttlery to the bar.

Ikiru turned to see all the crew and Makarov stood with Luso.
"Hey, what's goin' on guys?", he asked backing away.

Miyuki was stood next to him and to get his attention said, "Ikiru."

Ikiru turned and Miyuki poked his forehead with her fingertip.
With a sharp *Ding* noise and then a moment of silence Ikiru fell into Miyuki's arms.

"Good work Miyuki", Luso praised as they once again took Ikiru into the infirmary for the sealing procedure.

Everything was inplace and Ikiru lay on the table surrounded by the gang.

"Ahhhh!"

All that could be heard in the guild hall was Ikiru's intense screaming. Mira-Jane and Elfman awaited outside the infirmary.

All the gang but Miyuki and Ikiru waled out.

"What was all that about?", Elfman asked curiously.

"Uhh, I'll explain Master Makarov sighed as he dragged Elfman away.

"Is he alright?", Mira asked Erza.
"He should be fine with some rest but i have no idea how he's going to have a battle with you tommorow", Erza replied bringing Gray int the conversation.

"I know and if the Master's watching it's not like I have a choice or not to go easy on him", Gray complained. "Uh."

"Well it's better than him losing control right?", Wendy added.

"I guess you're right about that", Gray replied.
