"Well, at least you didn't fall in love with an outsider." Merida started. She and Rapunzel were inside the Tangled castle, waiting for Jack and Hiccup signal to go to the wall.
"What do you mean?" Rapunzel said, her cheeks flushing red.
"You love Jack, right? I was just saying that it's good you fell in love with him than an outsider, like Jim, from Treasure Planet."
"I am not in love with Jack!" Rapunzel began but then fell short when Merida gave her a look. "Wait, what happened to Jim?" Rapunzel continued, desperate to change the subject.
"Well, you know how an outsider is someone who watches our film, right? Well, this girl used to play Treasure Planet over and over and pause it to have conversations with him. Apparently he un-freezed just to talk to her. She never told anyone, thank god, but he fell in love with her. In the end he went to see her on his day out."
"Hold on I thought only older movies got to 'go out'." Rapunzel stated.
"Nup! Any movie can go out into the outsider's world, if they get permission from the guards. Only the older movies can stay out for a whole day, we can only stay out for a few hours. Anyway, he went to see her on his day out. When he got back in, she played his movie, paused it, blah, blah, blah. Next day, she didn't play his movie and when she didn't for three weeks, he got scared. Next minute, he finds himself at her funeral! They played his movie because it was her favourite. Died of some sickness, apparently. At least he got to be there." Merida looked down at her lap.
"Oh, wow." Rapunzel was speechless. A frosty wind bit at her nose and she looked up at Merida.
"Time to go. Jack Frost nipped at my nose."
"That was the signal?"
"Shut-up, I think it's cute"
