Different Perspectives paint a different picture
And to contrast that incredibly long oneshot last time, I present you with one of my shortest!
This prompt has been requested by Hattiexoxoxo and the prompt was Can we see the family's reactions to Lindsey's pregnancy?
The answer to this is of course, hope you enjoy!
When the words leave Lindsey's mouth, Joe feels a bubble of pure joy rising through him, growing and growing in mere seconds until he's feeling the happiest he's ever felt in his whole entire life. In fact, he didn't even know it was possible to feel this elated before, it's such a new feeling.
He's going to be a dad! He'd dreamt of that moment for years, not expecting it to actually happen for a few more to come, after all, Lindsey loves her job more than anything in the world (maybe more than him!), and they'd both agreed to not actually start trying for a baby until she had gotten all her training out of the way and was in a secure enough job.
But despite knowing those facts, Joe's absolutely elated when Lindsey tells him in the Dog. It's unexpected and they hadn't been trying, but that's what makes it even better. Because it's a sign, it must be. It tells him that their baby is meant to be, and so are they.
Even though Lindsey's not even showing yet and he's literally just learnt about it himself, Joe can't stop the frantic planning going through his mind, already mentally painting the spare room to suit a nursery.
This one moment of pure happiness and love rising through him makes everything worth it. All the fights, nights in a cell, tears and rage, they all melt away as the baby inside the love of his life, grows and grows, and he knows, he just knows he's going to be the best dad ever.

When Freddie finds out about the baby, he's heartbroken. For so long, he'd had this dream, stupid as it was, that Lindsey would have an epiphany of sorts and realise she was with the wrong brother.
He knows it's stupid, after all Joe and Lindsey have been together for close to nine years now, and she's never seen him as more than a brother, there's nothing in the world that can change that.
He knows it's wrong too, what sort of sane person wants to cause their own flesh and blood heartbreak by dreaming of taking their girlfriend away for one's own selfish want and need.
But that doesn't stop it being the first thing Freddie thinks of every time he sees a shooting star, when he blows his candles out on his birthday cake or any of the other little things that apparently grant wishes. Nine years on they have yet to work, though Freddie knows he'll never give up, or at least he had known that.
But this baby changes everything, it is the one little thing that will really prevent Freddie's greatest wish from ever coming true, because Joe and Lindsey would no longer be just a couple, no they'd be a family and nothing splits up a family, least of all a jealous brother.
When he finds Lindsey in the family planning clinic, seriously weighing up the option to have an abortion, Freddie just wishes that he could tell her to go through it and make her get rid of the baby growing inside of her, like it was never there, but he physically couldn't.
He loves Lindsey, more than anything else in the whole entire world and wants nothing more than to be the one she loves instead of Joe (hell, he's wanted that for nine years now), but more than that, he wants her to be happy.
She'd be a fantastic mother and more importantly, she would be happy. If she had an abortion, Freddie knows the guilt would weigh her down and she may never experience that feeling again.
So even though it hurts, Freddie leads her out of the abortion clinic and to Joe, trying not to cry out in a mix of anger and pain as the couple celebrate the life they have created with their love for one another.

To Sandy, the most important thing for her, is family. Growing up, she was part of a small unit, with only one sister and distant parents, who spent more time at work than they ever did at home. It had pretty much been like hell for her, as she yearned for more people to love, to spend time with at Christmas and share funny stories like so many of her friends did.
At the mere age of fifteen, Sandy knew she was going to have a large family to love and cherish with all her heart. And she had, five beautiful sons took over her life and made it worth living.
And yes it had been difficult, pure heartbreak as her darling Alan passed away, anger and rage as she found the twins dad, James, in bed with another woman, but Sandy had coped, been able to move on and live life to its full potential, and that was completely down to her children.
They picked her up, dusted her off and helped heal her heart whilst she did the same for them. Her family had only grown when Joe met Lindsey, the feisty brunette fitting in instantly, like she had been there for years.
Sandy had instantly liked the other woman when they had first met and loved how she was changing Joe into a better, more mature man, like his father had been so many years ago.
She had been over the moon when the couple revealed they were engaged. And that delight had changed into pure elation when she found out that Lindsey was pregnant with Sandy's first grandchild.
She had been desperate for a grandchild for a while now, wanting someone else to mother now that all her children were a bit too old to allow for that to happen to them.
She prayed that her sons would begin settling down and start their own families. So far, only Joe was close to reaching that goal, though Sandy wasn't worried for the others, they'd find someone, like she had found Alan and Joe had found Lindsey.
The thought of another baby in her life, was absolutely fantastic and Sandy couldn't wait for the pitter-patter of tiny feet. Especially because, for once she wouldn't have to suffer through the sleepless nights and could enjoy only the positives of the baby's life.
As she dragged the whole family down to the pub to celebrate, it was simply impossible for Sandy to rid the smile off her face as she was filled with anticipation of what was to come for her family.
Yes the future looked bright for the Roscoes.
I hope you enjoyed that Hattie as well as everyone else reading this story! As you saw I didn't include Ziggy or the twins reactions, simply because it would have otherwise been very repetitive to write and read.
I didn't include those because I imagine they would have had similar reactions to Sandy, in the sense that they would have been happy for Lindsey and Joe and excited to be uncles but not a lot more.
So I hope that was okay!
