A/N: Guess who is super late with this? I am! I'm so sorry that I couldn't upload this earlier, but I have to be the slowest writer in existence that writes more new stories instead of finishing one. Please forgive me with this sorta late Christmas update! Happy Holidays!

"As I have said before, open this gate at once!"

Hanbei looked amusedly at the messenger on horse down below, his lithe figure crouched on top of Ignis' defensive walls. He has never had this much fun since he left a firework in Kanbei's room where Litwik normally stays. Raising a brow and lifting his hat, Hanbei looked down at the messenger, a crooken smile on his childish face. "Oh? And what if I said no?"

The messenger pulled on his horse's reins, causing the beast to step back. "Lord Nobunaga will here about this indecency, Master Hanbei, as I know who you probably are according to your garments and immature behavior."

Hanbei yawned, waving a hand casually as he leaned back to sit down, his feet swinging off the edge of the wall. "Yeah yeah, I've heard it all before. Now just tell me the message that you have for Lord Hideyoshi, I will get it to him for you."

The messenger shook his head, his brows furrowing in an angry expression. "I was explicitly told not to give it to Masters Hanbei Takenaka and Kanbei Kuroda. This must go directly to Lord Hideyoshi."

Pursing his lips, Hanbei shrugged. "I told you, Lord Hideyoshi is busy at the moment and will not be available until next month. Unless you want to sit there for about 30 days with no food or water, I am afraid that you will need to come back some other day."

The messenger bristled, his dark eyes narrowing as he spat in reply, "Lord Nobunaga will not be happy about this blatant act of rebellion against his rule. You still fly your own flag, and you still have yet to pledge your army to him. Is this really your wish? To go against your kingdom's certain doom?"

Hanbei looked with wide eyes at the messenger before bursting out in laughter, holding his belly in mirth. "Oh my, you sound just like Kanbei!" the genius laughed, his feet kicking the air as his shoulders shook. As his laughter died down, he wiped away a tear that had spilled over, looking back down at the messenger. "I have only four words. We don't really care."

The messenger turned his horse around, his head turning to keep a gaze on the dark haired boy. "Fine, I will relay that message to Lord Nobunaga." Kicking the horse's sides and shouting a quick, "Yah!", the messenger rode up the dirt road, heading north-east. Hanbei sighed, falling to lay on his back as Pichu crawled out from under his hat. With a worried expression the Pokemon pushed Hanbei's shoulder, whimpering a small, "Pi?" Hanbei turned his head, smiling and poking the yellow Pokemon in the belly. "Oh don't worry, everything will work out." Looking back up at the sky, the genius murmured once more, "Everything will work out..."

"Father!"

Ina screamed as she watched her father fall in the battlefield, a victorious Nobunaga standing over the injured man. Ieyasu extended a hand, keeping the girl from running to her parent.

"No Ina, stay calm and collected, this is not the time to be panicking." Ieyasu commanded his third in command, his brows furrowed as he watched the dreaded warlord laugh in victory.

"Was that really the legendary warrior Tadakatsu? How surprising that he fell with only a couple blows! They once said that this man could withstand an avalanche!" Nobunaga called out, his dark gaze settling on Ina. "And you, his offspring, should be no different."

The city of Valora was in hysterics. A planned joint attack from Nixstorm, Spectra, and Dragnor... the army of Nobunaga... had marched out earlier that week, and Valora had been their first target. Ieyasu gritted his teeth as he watched another one of his men fall injured to the ground, a smirking Nō standing over him. "What is wrong dear? It's just a ghost!" Nō giggled, using her sleeve to cover the lower half of her face as her Misdreavus stuck out its tongue at the warlords. A silent Mitsuhide stuck out a hand, his Lapras freezing the bodies of three injured men on command as they screamed in fear. Ieyasu knew they were trying to taunt him into battle, but his inner warrior yearned to help his fellow men.

The warlord clutched Ina's shoulder, his eyes steely. "Ina, listen to me, I need you to escape the castle and warn the other kingdoms that Nobunaga is on the move. We do not have a chance for victory today, but I believe that we may have a chance should all the kingdoms unite and fight back." Ieyasu whispered to the girl, her blue eyes wide as she realized her warlord's request.

"No Lord Ieyasu! I cannot leave you and father to the mercy of this madman! Me and Piplup... We will think of something, I am sure of it!" she replied, her eyes glinting with tears. "I do not wish to see you in pain!"

Ieyasu smiled wanely, shaking his head. "Oh Ina, you remind me of your father. No, I do not intend to go down without a fight, Aggron and I will distract the army as best we can. We are known for our defense, are we not?" Patting the girl on the back before pushing her toward the secret passageway hidden behind the kingdom banner in the strategy room, he looked back out the window at the clashing armies. "Now go! They are approaching rapidly!"

Ina bit her bottom lip, glancing one last time at her warlord before she lifted her Piplup, the Pokemon looking confusedly up at its partner. Squeezing the Pokemon gently, she whispered, "Now Piplup, we are going to have to be really quiet for the next couple hours, okay? I need to escape, and if you see someone chasing us use Bubble to stop them."

The small penguin Pokemon nodded in understanding, its black eyes fixated on the teary girl. Ina smiled before looking forward with determination, slipping behind the banner and entering the small wooden door to be immediately immersed in the darkness of the escape tunnels.

Hideyoshi grimaced as he rolled up the scroll, Hanbei and Kanbei sitting in stools at the strategy table in front.

"Men, I believe we have a problem!" Hideyoshi claimed, throwing the scroll down on the table in disgust. "Valora has fallen into the hands of Nobunaga. Ieyasu and Tadakatsu have been captured, but it seems that the daughter of the latter has escaped." With a small grunt Hideyoshi fell back onto his own stool, his chin resting in his palm, his elbow on his knee, Chimchar jumping onto his lap. "Any ideas?"

Hanbei sighed in exasperation and threw himself onto the strategy table, causing small figurines with the flags of each kingdom to fly off the map. "Ugh, this is great, even the famed defense of Valora couldn't hold back Nobunaga's forces."

Kanbei remained silent, his gaze simply fixated on the smaller genius as he threw his dramatic fit.

Hideyoshi crossed his arms, humming in thought as he moved his legs onto the stool to sit cross legged. "Well, I think that the win was inevitable anyway for Nobunaga anyway. I mean, hasn't he allied with both Mitsuhide and Nō? Those three kingdoms surround Valora. Also, from what I've heard, the battle lasted for more than a week."

The smaller genius shook his head, throwing up a hand from his position on the table. "But Valora is famed for their defense that has kept the best armies out of the kingdom for months at a time. Nobunaga got in in only a week. That's pretty scary if you think about it."

Kanbei finally began to add, "The scroll that the message has arrived in was sealed with the Dragnor seal, correct? And it has been at least two weeks since Valora had fallen. Why is Nobunaga sending out this message when they could just as easily take over another kingdom without any struggle." Shifting on his seat, Kanbei folded his hands in front of him, propping his arms on the table. "What if he is using this message to strike fear in the other kingdom's hearts? What if this is all simply a bluff? We have heard about the thickness of the defense of Valora. Nobunaga must had to use many resources in order to breach only the wall. This letter could be keeping other kingdoms from striking them while they restore their resources."

Hanbei and Hideyoshi both looked at the grimacing man, their brows raised.

"Wow Kanbei, that has to be the most that you have said in the past year!" Hanbei exclaimed, jumping up and wrapping an arm around the bigger man's neck. "Why didn't you add that earlier though?"

The grimacing man leaned away from Hanbei, his brows furrowed. "I waiting for Lord Hideyoshi and you to be silent before I could clearly get my point across. Normally you two are not the listening types."

Hideyoshi laughed heartily while slapping Kanbei on the back, causing the genius to straighten up in pain. "That's the Kuroda I know! So, why don't we get this message to the other kingdoms now? The one we've been working on?"

Hanbei slapped his hands on the table, his eyes wide. "I have just the perfect kingdom to send it to! Did you know that there's a new warlord in Aurora? The kingdom south-west of us? We could send it to them! We could use an alliance with a fresh new warlord! And then Motochika, Motonari, and Ginchiyo too! They hate Nobunaga!"

Kanbei nodded silently in agreement, his dark gaze settling on Hideyoshi.

The warlord then grinned, taking out the mentioned scroll from his belt. "Ooookay gentlemen, looks like we gotta plan! I'll send this with Chimchar, since he can travel pretty fast through the surrounding forests. Let's get this war started!"

Oichi tightened the hood around her head, her eyes glancing worriedly behind her as Jigglypuff shuffled in the bag on her back. "Okay Jigglypuff, I think we're safe for now..." she whispered, slipping off the bag and letting the pink Pokemon out. "We're almost to Aurora, the gate's right there. Good think there were lots of nice merchants on the way, right?"

The Pokemon sung a happy tune in reply, blinking at its partner. With a small smile Oichi picked up the Pokemon, hugging it close to herself. "I can't believe we ran away Jigglypuff..." the girl mumbled, trembling slightly. The Pokemon looked worriedly at her, tapping her softly in the cheek. "What is brother thinking... why is he hurting people just for the sake of land?"

She shook her head, standing up suddenly. "This is why we must go to Aurora Jigglypuff! We need to get this new Warlord to fight against Nobunaga!" The Pokemon raised an arm in reply, its eyes now determined. Oichi grinned, punching the air. "Okay! To Aurora!" Slipping off her hood she strode to the gates, slipping inside the kingdom with the rest of the new travelers that were curious about the new warlord. With a hum, Oichi joined the crowd gathering at the base of the castle.

"The new warlord must be meeting the people today. Good thing we made it in time." Oichi whispered to the pink Pokemon in her arms, her eyes fixated on the balcony above her. After what seemed like an hour of waiting, a politician walked out on the balcony.

"Everyone, may I have your attention please? Your new warlord will now be revealing themselves to you now, please welcome them!"

Oichi squeezed Jigglypuff in excitement. "I can't believe it! We get to meet the new warlord! What will he be like do you think? He must be an experienced warrior to have inherited a kingdom as nice as Aurora! Oh... I'm really curious..."

The crowd hushed as footsteps were heard on the balcony above, steady and stable. A warlord with no hesitation... A sturdy and experienced male warrior, all of them must have thought. But as the whole crowed strained to look at who could be shying away from their gaze, a young female voice resounded, "Hello residents of Aurora. I am Eve, your new Warlord."

Oichi gaped as a young girl stepped into view, her bright blue gaze scanning the crowd that were now murmuring in surprise at the new warlord. She couldn't be any older than Oichi.

The girl smiled and bowed, and as she raised her head once again she added, "Let's get along well!"

A/N: First of all, I would like to apologize for the rushed and short chapter! I was hoping to make it longer and introduce more characters, but with my busy schedule I was not able to add all of the small parts of the story. I promise the next one will be extra long!

Also I apologize for those who were hoping for the male protagonist of the game! It is just that when I played through the game I had used the female protagonist, and I love her design more than the male, so I guess it is a little bias. But then again, I did change her name to make it extremely general.

Okay, so thanks for reading and sticking with me for so long. Please leave any comments in the reviews or pm me! Faves and Follows boost my morale extremely! I look forward to publishing my next chapter!
