Deeds so Evil
This story has been prompted by Little Miss Bovver and the prompt was Robbie's loyalty to Finn is pushed to the limit when he finds out his friend has killed someone
I'm pleased that I've inadvertently posted at the time when the show's Finn commits his most violent act, however this story is based before the rape happens. I hope you all enjoy!
Gavin Coe was not the most likeable of people. He was in his final year of Hollyoaks high and had a grand total of zero true friends. Sure there was people who he could sit with in class and who he could spend his lunchtimes with if his own company got a bit too much, but knew that he wouldn't be making any sort of effort to keep in touch with them, once he had left for pastures new.
It wasn't that he didn't try with people, just every time the young lad thought he was getting anywhere, he always managed to ruin it somehow, until once more, Gavin was left on his own. Everyone looked down on him and the few people who gave him the time of day just pitied him.
It made Gavin's blood boil at the thought of them all, acting as if they were better than him when they just weren't, they were all imbeciles, though he knew he'd have the last laugh when he was one at a top university, making a living for himself, when they were all stuck here, in goddamn Chester, getting nowhere.
"Move Coe," Robbie Roscoe growled, breaking Gavin's train of thought as he inelegantly shoved past the smaller boy in his haste to get out of the English classroom and to lunch, not even looking back as Gavin's books all fell to the floor.
Trying to keep control of his annoyance, Gavin got to his knees and picked up the books, packing them into his bag as he silently prayed for someone, anyone to at least ask if he was okay.
Unsurprisingly the room remained silent apart from his heavy sigh, due to everyone having already vanished, the ones who had witnessed what Robbie had done, not even bothering to see if they could help.
Gavin didn't know what else he expected really, after all his useless classmates hadn't done anything for him in their last six years together, why the hell would they start now?
As he made his way to the door, Gavin was in no rush to get to the canteen, after all the line would be massive by now and he'd never find a seat in the overfull room, he couldn't help but hear the muttered and threatening voices on the other side of the door.
"We know just what you get up to your spare time you little homo," one voice hissed and Gavin recognised it instantly as Robbie's. The twerp wasn't even ten foot away from the classroom, yet he couldn't even apologise to Gavin for causing all the damage in favour of tormenting his latest target.
"Yeah so you better not call the police, because we'll have you ruined before you can even blink. After all those photos weren't just saved onto Lomax's phone," another voice snarled, though Gavin didn't recognise it. He did know the accent though, a strong scouse one by the sounds of it, making almost every other word completely non-understandable.
The image flashed through his head instantly and Gavin could just picture Robbie and whatever brute that was with him, mercilessly bullying a young year seven to get their kicks, just as a group of sixth formers had done to him at that age.
There had been no-one for him all those years ago, but he was damned if he was going to let some spineless bullies ruin another life, and hey, maybe he'd finally get the respect he so deserved.
"Hey what do you think-" the words died in his mouth as he didn't see Robbie and Finn O'Connor (for that was who the other voice belonged to), practically torturing a small twelve year old, but standing face to face with Mr McQueen, who was looking slightly ruffled at their presence, though giving no other sign that something was amiss.
Gavin couldn't help peering around his teacher just in case the small student was hiding there, though there was no sign of that ever being true. "What do you want Coe?" Robbie snarled, glaring openly at Gavin, as if he was daring John-Paul to do something about it in response.
"Less of that lip Robbie," John-Paul said in response, straightening his tie as he spoke and trying to cool down from what had obviously just been a very heated exchange. "And both of you can have detention, for wasting a teacher's time." Ignoring the two troublemakers protests, John-Paul shrugged past the students, making his way to the staff room to cool down.
The second he had disappeared around the corner, both Robbie and Finn snarled, annoyed that their fun had disappeared, apparently forgetting that Gavin was stood just inches away, though the scrawny boy wasn't going to have that.
"Well well well, bullying a teacher because of his sexuality. I knew you two were scum, but I never thought you'd go that low."
Robbie and Finn both froze once the words left Gavin's mouth, turning to glare openly at him. "What did you just say?" Robbie questioned, taking a step forward as he did so, though Gavin refused to be intimidated. "McQueen has got what's coming to him and that's all that matters."
"To you two maybe, two mindless Neanderthals who wouldn't know acceptance if it hit them square in the face."
"Well maybe you're just so wound up about it cause it's a bit too close to home," Finn cut in, sharing a smile with Robbie as the two boys realised they'd found their latest victim.
"Oh please, just because I don't run away screaming at the word gay, doesn't mean I am, just like me not being racist doesn't make me black."
"Well, I've never seen you with a girl Coe, though I guess that doesn't really answer our question anyway, I mean who'd touch a greasy freak like you anyway?" As he spoke, Robbie shoved Gavin roughly, the smaller boy instantly falling to the floor, his books flying from his bag once more. "Keep your mouth shut about McQueen, otherwise we'll shut it for you."
Robbie turned away then, striding down the corridor and away from Gavin, though it took a few moments for Finn to do the same and the look that he directed at the boy on the floor before he left, well it truly scared Gavin down to the core.

The next week for Gavin, was just as he imagined hell to be if it existed. Everywhere he turned, either Finn or Robbie wouldn't be too close behind, cruel taunts on their lips or a rough dig at his ribs when no-one was looking.
For the first time in years, Gavin dreaded walking through the school gates, though he never acted on his fear. After all, he had never had an easy ride during his whole high school career, and he wasn't going to let it defeat him now, not when he was so near the finishing line.
But at least life outside of school was safe. His family loved him more than anything and despite living in the same village as the two boys, he rarely saw them about, leaving him to feel safe everywhere he went.
It was one Tuesday night though, just eleven days after Gavin overheard Robbie and Finn tormenting John Paul, did everything change completely. He had gone to the shop to get some bread for his mum and was just on his way home, ducking and diving through the alleys to get back sooner when Finn spotted him.
The younger lad had been smoking in an abandoned alcove, trying to cool down from his latest argument with Diane, when Gavin had walked past him, mere metres away, though he didn't even notice Finn.
"Well that's no way to greet a friend like me," he shouted after Gavin, smiling to himself when the other boy stopped completely, his whole body stiffening as he recognised the voice of one of his newest tormentors.
"What do you want Finn?" Gavin groaned, knowing the worst thing he could do was engage with the other teen, though his patience had been wearing thin all day and this was final straw. He was going to end this, tonight.
"Just wanted to greet a good friend of mine. Make sure you were doing okay, after all, there's all sort of dangers lurking about at this time of night, there's no telling what sort of danger you'll get in to."
"Well I was completely fine until I saw you," Gavin retorted sharply, turning to leave, though Finn's hand on his arm, gripping tightly stopped him once more.
"Now that's just rude," Finn snarled, ripping the loaf of bread from Gavin's hand and stepping on it unceremoniously, the bag popping and slices spilling out over the sides. "Ooops. My bad, sorry mate."
"What the hell O'Connor? What are you even playing at? Because I don't know where you get off on this stuff, but you have to be seriously messed up to act like this."
"Say that again," Finn shouted, pushing Gavin up on to the wall, spittle flying from his mouth. "I dare you."
"You're fucking mental and I'm going to let everyone know just how twisted both you and Robbie are. You're making a teacher's life hell because he's gay, and you're ruining mine because I know what you're really like. But I'm not letting this continue, not anymore." Gavin hissed, heart beating loudly in his chest as the frenzied look in Finn's eyes grew until he looked genuinely dangerous.
"Don't you dare you little shit," Finn snapped, punching Gavin in the stomach and effectively winding him, though that wasn't enough to stop him. As he fell, he grabbed onto Finn, dragging him down with him, where he began to hit out, knowing he was having some sort of effect as his fists continually made contact and Finn's cries hit his ears.
Gavin wasn't sure how, and he knew Finn would be at an equal loss, but at sometime in their fight, the two had somehow got back up on their feet, though that wasn't ending their conflict.
"Everyone's going to know just how evil you are," he hissed again, wiping away the blood that was spurting from his nose and hoping that he had at least caused Finn just as much damage as had been seemingly caused to him.
At those words, Finn's anger boiled over once more as he realised just how serious Gavin was about all of this. He was going to tell Mr Blake and the police would certainly be involved in all this. That couldn't happen, he couldn't let that happen.
Without thinking, Finn let out a scream, charging at Gavin once more and pushing him over, the boy's head hitting the alley wall soundly before he properly fell to the floor. It was only when Finn had properly caught his breath did he realise that there was something amiss with Gavin, because he hadn't moved since he fell.
"Gavin? Gavin can you hear me?" Finn called out, praying that the older boy was merely unconscious when he got no reply. The internal pleading didn't stop as Finn knelt down, pressing his fingers on Gavin's neck as he tried to find a pulse. When he got nothing, Finn tried not to panic much, moving his fingers down to Gavin's wrist.
When once more he got nothing, Finn felt the hysteria building up and placed his ear to Gavin's mouth, praying to whatever deity there was that Gavin would be alive, though any remaining optimism he had had left was cruelly squashed when he felt nothing.
This couldn't be happening, he tried to reason. This sort of thing didn't happen, especially to someone like him, but there was no escaping the facts. Gavin Coe was dead and he, Finn O'Connor was the one to kill him.

Robbie had been enjoying a rare night in with his family when he got the call from a frantic Finn. "You've got to come down to Banker's lane mate," the younger boy said, voice shaking on every word.
"I don't think I can, sorry Finn. Lindsey's just got a massive promotion and we're celebrating."
"No Robbie you have to get here, I'm not mucking about," Finn pleaded, sounding close to tears as every second passed.
That was when Robbie knew something was up, because Finn never showed any sort of emotion, not if he had to anyway, but this, well Robbie hadn't heard anything like it. He certainly couldn't imagine what had happened to cause this, especially on Banker's lane of all places.
"All right, I'll be over there in ten."
"Just hurry," Finn snapped, hanging up before Robbie could reply. He stared at his phone in confusion before grabbing his jacket and sneaking out, after all it wasn't likely to take that long, his family probably wouldn't even notice he was missing.
The walk to Banker's lane was a short one, though it took Robbie another five minutes to find Finn, his friend skulking about in one of the back alleys, looking worse than Robbie had ever seen him. His face was deathly pale and tears were tracked down his cheeks, despite his best efforts to seemingly get rid of them.
"All right mate, what's got your knickers in such a twi-" The words died in Robbie's throat as he saw the still form on the floor, blood turning cold in seconds. "What the hell?"
"It's Gavin," Finn supplied, voice monotone as he started explaining what had happened just a few minutes ago, still unable to believe it had happened himself. "We uh, we got into a fight earlier. He said he was going to tell everyone what we were doing to McQueen and I pushed him and he just, he hit his head on the wall."
"And he's knocked out right? Tell me he's just knocked out!" Robbie demanded, screaming into Finn's face as he tried to not think the unthinkable, that that boy in front of him was...
"He's dead Robbie. Gavin's dead."
Robbie was silent for a few moments, unable to believe what he had just been told, because it couldn't be true. He couldn't be staring at a dead body right now, someone he knew and saw every single day and Finn couldn't, he just couldn't have been the one to kill him.
The words didn't make sense inside of his head and Robbie was just about ready for someone to pop around the corner shouting 'fool you!'. That didn't happen though and Robbie had to accept that this wasn't some sort of cruel joke, no this was real and he was going to have to let that sink in.
"This can't be happening, this can't be real, he can't be dead," Robbie babbled, because although some part of him had accepted that Gavin was stone cold dead right in front of him, the other parts of him were at a complete loss on what to do.
One look at Finn's face however told him all he needed to know, leaving Robbie at a loss once more. "He was a kid Finn! He was my age and he has a fucking family who are expecting him home any second, but now they haven't even got a son. We can't just leave him we have to tell-"
"Don't you dare grass on me because I'll sure as hell drag you down with me," Finn snarled, taking a step towards Robbie, his whole demeanour changing in a single second.
Because before Finn had been terrified by what he had done, seeking comfort that the whole thing wasn't real and that it could all be fixed, but the moment his security, his freedom had been threatened, he had completely changed, because Finn was damned if he was going to be sent down for an accident, for a silly mistake that he didn't even mean.
Taking another step, Finn's eyes flashed, promising silently that he wasn't going to let Robbie even leave the alley if he intended on telling anyone about what had happened, and Robbie didn't want to test if Finn would make good on that silent threat or not. After all, he had already done so once tonight, and Robbie didn't want to test that again.
"I never thought you's be so spineless Robbie," Finn spat, seeing the cautious look in the older boy's eyes. "You always act the big hardman, waving around guns and belittling people-"
"This is a bit different!" Robbie snapped, unable to stop himself, because he was not going to let Finn drag him into this and he was not going to let the younger school-boy compare himself to him. "You killed him Finn, he's never going to live another day because of you. I mean, what are we meant to do, hide the body?"
"We're going to have to, because we'll both be locked away for life if anyone finds him," Finn muttered, nodding to himself as he tried to think up a plan.
"What is it with this we?" Robbie questioned, his mind going a mile a minute as he tried desperately, relentlessly, to wriggle himself out of the situation, though he had little hope it would actually work, not if Finn had anything to do with it. "Because you say you're going to take me down with you if I tell anyone, but I'm not seeing any proof that I actually did anything to Gavin. I ain't touched him after all, none of my DNA is on him so the police wouldn't be able to do jack all about it."
"But everyone knows you've been bothering him, and what exactly are they going to think when they hear you just left your house at this time of night, especially as you'll have no alibi for when I did this. Think about it long and hard Rob, because I know what I'd think about the whole thing if it were me. You ain't got a leg to stand on and you know it, so I'd really think twice about going to the police to report this whole mess."
Robbie sighed, knowing full well that everything that Finn said was true and that he really couldn't do anything about what had just happened. Because he couldn't go to the police, not if it meant him being sent down too. He had already failed his family too much, for them to think that he had killed someone in cold blood, well they'd never look at him again, and Robbie knew he wouldn't be able to live like that.
He knew it was weak and the wrong thing to, a decent person would go to the police, damn the consequences, just to make sure justice was served, but Robbie was anything but a decent person and in that moment, he wasn't strong enough to be sentenced and shipped away to prison, never to see the light of day again
"We need a car then," Robbie said eventually, unable to believe what he was about to do, hating himself more and more for it. "I'll go to the garage and get one."
"How do I know that you won't go to the police?" Finn asked, frowning heavily.
"You don't, but we can't both go in case anyone comes down here and I'm the only one out of us two who has the garage keys, knows the security alarm code, where the keys for the cars are kept, as well as which of them actually work.
"You don't have to like it Finn, but I'm the only one you can trust right now and I'm not exactly likely to give 999 a call, after all, I'm in just as much shit as you if the police get involved, so you'll just have to trust me." Finn remained silent, though he eventually nodded, showing that he trusted Robbie enough and let him leave.
"If you do stitch me up, yours will be the first name to leave my mouth mate," he called after Robbie's retreating figure, though he got nothing in response.
}}}}}}}}}}}
Robbie didn't know how he managed it, but for the whole walk to the garage he somehow remained calm. Not even his breathing rate changed as he dialled in the security code and there was barely a clench of his jaw as he found the keys for an old Ford. The moment when he stopped however, the moment when it sunk in, was when he saw the phone on the side.
It would be so easy, he could just dial in three simple numbers (well one when you really think about it), and then it would all be over. Gavin's parents would get the peace of mind they rightly needed and Finn would get what he deserved.
The only thing to stop him however, was his friend's earlier declaration. Robbie had little doubt that Finn wouldn't mention his name to the police at least once and then that would be it, game over. It wasn't fair, for the first time in probably his whole life, he wasn't in the wrong, but he was forced to do something so utterly vile to keep himself out of prison, rotting in a cell for life.
Maybe it was karma, for the shit he'd pulled over the years. Robbie didn't know, but he knew he had a choice. Either he could man up and do the right thing for once his life, damn the consequences, because was a family's peace more important than his freedom? Or he could do the cowardly thing by going to Finn and burying the body, not talking of what happened this night ever again and hoping he would be able to forget it and move on.
Better people than him, more selfless people would do the right thing, but he wasn't either of those things and never would be. It made him a terrible human being and would probably end up with him spending his whole afterlife in hell, but Robbie couldn't tell anyone what had happened, he just couldn't.
Trying to keep control of his nerves, Robbie took a deep breath and entered the car, reversing it out of the garage, and driving to where Finn was. As Robbie drove down the empty road, ignoring the buzzing of his phone in his pocket as his family wondered where the hell he had gotten himself to, he couldn't help but ask himself the same question.
Fortunately by the time he was backing the car as far as he could into the alley, Finn stood exactly where he had been twenty minutes ago, his family had given up trying to contact him, leaving Robbie slightly more at ease.
"Took your time," Finn hissed the moment Robbie was out of the car, though Robbie ignored him in favour of moving to Gavin. The two teens moved to either side of the cooling body, lifting him up and dumping him in the boot without another word, too stressed out to bicker and too lost in their thoughts about all that had happened over the past hour or so.
"So what are we going to do with him?" Finn asked ten minutes later as Robbie directed the car down another path.
"Bury him, what else did you think we could do? There's shovels in the back, so we should be sorted," Robbie snapped, just wanting the night to over and done with, so he could forget this whole thing had ever happened. This wasn't how he had imagined the night to go and he wouldn't have believed any of this happening if someone had told him earlier that day.
Hoping that Finn would just keep his mouth shut, Robbie turned so they were entering the small woodlands that would be nothing but deserted at this time of night. "Don't bodies have a habit of being found here?" Finn questioned, once more trying Robbie's patience.
"Best we got, unless you got anymore bright ideas, though your last one ended up killing someone," Robbie snapped, not caring if he pissed off Finn anymore. If it hadn't been for him, this whole mess wouldn't have happened and he'd be at home, teasing Ziggy for being so caught up on Ruby and Jason for being so flustered around Holly even after two months of them being together. "Right, this is the best we got, so get out and start digging."
As one, the two boys got out of the car, grabbing shovels from the back seats and began working in silence, digging deeper and deeper until they were happy that Gavin would never be found, no matter how hard anyone looked.
Once that was done, they carried Gavin to the hole, dropping him unceremoniously, both wincing as the dull thud from his limp body hitting the ground reached their ears. As they filled back up the makeshift grave (because that was what it was and Robbie couldn't believe he'd had to dig somone's grave), Robbie realised this was the worst part of the whole night.
Because this was it, there was no going back now, and there was no way to try and shrug this all off as a bad dream, because there they were, burying a classmate's body because Finn's temper had gotten in the way once more.
As the first shovel of dirt hit Gavin's body, it all became too much for Robbie and he felt the bile rising up. He turned away and was sick just seconds later, the vomit splashing up and marking his already muddy jeans as Finn kept on working, acting like he did this sort of thing all the time and that it was no big deal
Robbie didn't move from the tree he was leaning on, until he was confident that Gavin's body was hidden from view completely, because he couldn't see that, couldn't watch as the quiet boy from his English was slowly buried, till it was like he was never there.

Nothing much seemed to happen the first few days after the... incident. On the drive back to the Village, both Robbie and Finn agreed that they never speak of what happened ever again, especially as Gavin would no doubt be reported as missing and soon.
And they were right, within forty eight hours, the village was covered in Missing posters, all of Gavin, the picture of him smiling innocently into the camera, looking and judging both boys everytime they saw one of those damn posters.
On the third day since Gavin had 'disappeared', the school brought in a police officer to talk to everyone and to try and see if anyone knew anything that could lead to Gavin being found. This was when it all seemed to get too much for Finn however, as Robbie found himself being dragged into the toilet by the wide-eyed teenager, somewhat glad to see that Finn looked like hell since the last they spoken, the night that Gavin...
"They're going to find us out Rob," he started after checking that the toilets were completely empty. "There's no way they're not with this much police on the case. They're going to find out exactly what we did and lock us away, I just know it."
"They're not going to do anything if you don't act weird. Just stay calm yeah, they've got no reason to suspect we did anything to Gavin, so keep your mouth shut and your eyes down and then it will stay that way." Robbie said, saying the words that had been keeping him sane these last few days and hoping they'd work on Finn too.
Despite his tone being steady, Robbie felt anything but, though he wasn't going to let anyone see that, no-one was going to see his weakness. All his life Robbie had put a mask on to hide what he was really feeling and to pretend that he was cockier than he really was.
This... well this was no different not really, because showing that he was scared and on edge was going to ruin it all and show the world just how guilty he really was and he couldn't have that, couldn't be found out and couldn't be locked away. That was not an option.
As Finn calmed down, Robbie let him be, knowing that the younger boy would need some alone time to keep his nerve, though he wished he had never the left the toilets when he came face to face with a police officer, the very one who was dealing with Gavin's case to be exact.
"Can I have a word Mr Roscoe? It's about Gavin's recent disappearance. A few sources have said they saw you two interact the day he disappeared and we want to see if he said anything out of the ordinary to you. It may really help."
"Yeah of course Sir, I'll be happy to tell you everything I can," Robbie said, plastering a helpful smile onto his face, following the older man to the small side room that had been used for people to come forward with potential information about Gavin.
As he was led into the room and sat on a seat mere inches from a man who would happily put him away for life, Robbie took a calming breath, ready to keep the mask firmly on and lie his way through another day.
So not a happy one, though I had a great time writing it. I loved writing evil Finn and hope I did it justice to the boy we're being shown on the show.

Thank you all for the lovely reviews, they mean so much and I know that I say that a lot, but they honestly do!
