"Wow, look how young you are!" Sam exclaimed, holding up a picture of newborn Sam being held by Dean. "And, Dean? Are those frosted tips?"

"What? No! I never…give me that!" Dean made a grab for the photograph and Sam pulled it out of Dean's reach. Castiel laughed. The three were putting together Sam's board for his and Gabriel's graduation party next weekend on the kitchen table.

"I can't believe this. This might be my new favorite thing in the whole world." Sam kept grinning at the picture.

"Gee, thanks." Dean responded.

"Oh shut up." Castiel glanced at the clock on the oven. It was nearly midnight.

"Well, I need to get to bed. I know you don't have classes or work tomorrow, but I do." Castiel stood up and stretched. "I'll even let you two sleep in." He gave them both kisses on the tops of their heads and then went upstairs.

The Winchester brothers continued going through pictures. There was one that made Sam stop. It was a simple picture. Just Mary with Sam on the floor, he was sitting up by himself so he was probably at least six months, and John smiling from the couch, staring at Sam like he was the most precious thing in the world. Sam stared at it for a while. Dean finally noticed and saw the look on Sam's face.

"Ya know, Sammy, I don't know if I've ever asked you this."

"What's that?" Dean sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Do you…um…do you remember anything about them? Mom and Dad I mean."

"Well, not really. I mean, I remember that Mom could sing 'Hey Jude' a lot better than you can." Sam offered a small smile. Dean smiled back.

"Really though."

"I remember more about Dad." Sam shrugged.

"Do you remember her at all?"

"I really do remember her singing 'Hey Jude'. She would sing it to me whenever she was trying to get me to sleep. Other than that though, I don't remember anything." Sam's eyes went back to the picture.

"What about Dad?" Sam thought for a moment.

"I remember that he would take me to the park. He also would hum this tune a lot. He never sang for me or anything, but he would hum. It was like," Sam started humming the tune from somewhere in his memory. Dean hummed along.

"Yeah," Dean said after Sam had stopped. "I remember that, too; it was from Casablanca. You know they both loved you. I would get weekly updates. 'Sam is standing up all by himself today. Sam said 'dada' on Wednesday.'" Sam could feel the tears coming to his eyes and could hear them in Dean's voice. "They would be so proud of you, Sammy. I know they would be."

"Thanks, Dean." Sam said thickly. He wiped his eyes and then taped the picture to his tri-board. He had three boards and none of them were even close to being finished. He had a board of family, a board for friends and then a board for school events, mostly dances or basketball games. "Can I ask you a weird question?"

"Sure, shoot." Dean held up another picture.

"When did I first say 'Dean'?" Dean chuckled.

"Well, you were barely even talking. I think 'dada' and 'mama' and 'yeah' were about all you could say. Then I came home for uh…Mom's service and I walked through the front door and you ran to me. I picked you up, you put your hand on my cheek and you said it. 'Dean!'" Dean made his voice high and squeaky. "And then I melted in those puppy eyes of yours." Dean smiled. Sam shook his head and smiled back.

"You have to make everything a joke don't you?"

"Who said I was joking? I let you drive Baby around and if that doesn't tell you how important you are I'm not sure what else I can do." Sam smiled and went back to his pictures.

"You know, it might actually kill me to wear that ugly cardinal in the fall." Dean said after about forty-five minutes.

"I never said you had to wear it, Dean." Sam taped another picture of him, Jessica and Kevin to his 'friend' board. The brothers continued to argue about whether or not Dean was going to actually support Stanford or stay true to his Bruin roots. At almost two, Castiel came downstairs.

"You two are still at it?" Dean looked at the clock.

"Shit, Sammy. We should probably get some sleep." Dean stood up and stretched. The three left the kitchen and went upstairs. Sam laid in bed and thought about how different his life would've been had his parents still been alive. Dean and Castiel may have never gotten together. Who knows if Sam and Gabriel would've become friends without having gotten to know each other in daycare. Sam wasn't sure when he fell asleep, but when he did, somewhere in his mind there was a female voice singing 'Hey Jude'.

Samsquatch: Come ovr? Need help w/ my speech

Gabe: Sure b ovr in 10

Gabriel got into his car and drove over to Sam's. Sam answered the door and pulled Gabriel inside.

"Ow, well hello to you, too."

"I'm sorry, I'm just freaking out that this speech is going to be terrible and everybody is going to hate it." Sam sighed and led Gabriel into the dining room. Sam's laptop was sitting on the table, along with a bottle of water.

"Do you want anything?" Sam offered.

"No, you sit down. I can get it if I need it." Gabriel and Sam sat down. "So, what do you have so far?"

"So far? I've got 'Thanks, Mr. Wyatt'."

"Well that's a good start. Do you want to do funny or serious?"

"I…I don't know. Both?"

"Okay, well, I think you need to thank everybody."

"What do you mean?" Sam took a drink of his water.

"I mean, friends, family, teachers, they deserve a thank you right?" Sam sighed.

"You're so much better at this than I am. Why don't you write it and I can edit?"

"Sam, this is your speech, not mine, but I'll help you." Gabriel kissed Sam on the cheek and the two began a rough draft of Sam's speech. Dean came home and started working on dinner while Sam and Gabriel continued on the speech.

"I think this is good. Make the ending about us though. We did the fucking thing."

"Gabriel," Dean warned from the kitchen.

"Sorry!" Gabriel called. "I forgot he was home." He whispered to Sam. Sam chortled.

"So, what if I made this my ending?" Sam typed and then turned the computer towards Gabriel. Gabriel read it.

"It looks great to me. Short, sweet and to the point."

"Kinda like you." Sam grinned. Gabriel smiled back.

"Here, fix your hat." Channing straightened Kevin's hat as they stood around, waiting for the teachers to tell them to get into their rows. The group of them (Kevin, Channing, Sam, Gabriel, Jessica, Brady, Jody and Crowley) were all in their caps and gowns on Graduation Day. The boys were in red and the girls were wearing white.

"So, are you ready for your speech, Sam?" Brady asked.

"Yeah, his speech is great." Gabriel gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"So, tonight afterwards do you guys want to come hang out, maybe watch some movies or something?" Kevin offered, looking around at them.

"My parents are having a family thing. Shamus and I will be at that." Jody slid her hand into Crowley's. The look on her face, Gabriel didn't have the heart to tell her Crowley had been thinking about breaking up with her (for good) at the end of the summer since she would be going to South Dakota State and he would be going to Arizona State.

"Same, actually, and if I don't bring Jess my parents will disown me." Brady placed a kiss on Jessica's nose. Those two were also saving their relationship talk for the end of the summer. Jessica was going to Stanford (which Sam was excited about) and Brady was going to stay close to home and go to Kansas.

"Come on, Sam. You and Gabriel can't leave me alone with him." Channing bumped Kevin playfully. Channing and Kevin were going to stay together; they had already discussed it. Not to mention that Kevin was going to Princeton and Channing wouldn't be far away at Columbia. Sam looked at Gabriel.

"You up for it?"

"Yeah, if my mom will let me go." Gabriel shrugged. He was sure his mom would let him. His father had a business trip that there was no way he could get out of (and Gabriel had heard him try).

"Sure, count us in."

"Alright, graduates! Let's get in our lines. Sam Winchester! You need to be up here!" The drama teacher, Mr. Smith announced.

"Well, see you guys on the other side." Sam gave Gabriel a kiss on the forehead before he walked up to the group of teachers that would be leading the students. The students were lined up and they soon began their way into the gym. Sam looked up at Dean, Castiel, Bobby, Ellen and Saraqeal. They were applauding and snapping pictures. Once all the graduates were seated, the dean of students stood up and began.

"Parents, guardians, family and friends of our young adults, welcome. Welcome to the celebration of their accomplishments. They…" Sam looked out at his classmates and everybody sitting in the seats of the auditorium. There were a lot of people out there. Sam's heart sped up as he thought of his speech and how it could go badly. He suddenly couldn't get enough saliva into his mouth. He swallowed and then made eye contact with Gabriel who smiled and that was it. Sam knew he could do it.

"…without further ado, time for the valedictorian, Sam Winchester." The audience applauded and Sam stood up, smiling.

"Thank you, Mr. Wyatt." Sam said into the microphone. He looked around, smiled, and then began. "Well, here it is. The day we've been all been dreaming of. We've all put more than our fair share of time and effort, and honestly? I doubt that any of you guys really want me to stand here and talk about it. However, it's a little required. So, thanks to our guardians for taking care of us and dealing with the craziness that comes with dealing with teenagers. We know we were difficult, and we know that you guys probably hated us at times." Sam looked up at where his family was. There was no other way for him to communicate his love and appreciation. "However, you guys never gave up on us and got through it with us. Thanks to our friends for helping us through the ups and downs of the whole high school experience and helping us come into our own." Sam looked out to his friends and sent a wink in Gabriel's direction, which earned him a smile from his boyfriend. "Thanks to the teachers and administration for being supportive of us and never giving up on us, even though I'm pretty sure you really wanted to on some of us. Finally, here's to us, guys! We finally did it!" All of the students broke out into applause and whoops and hollers. Sam took his seat again and the drama teacher stood up to the podium.

'Thank God, the hard part is over.' Sam thought to himself as Mr. Smith began to announce his classmates. Sam heard his family cheering for his friends and they all went crazy for Gabriel, which made him beam.

"Samuel Henry Winchester." Sam stood up, walked over and accepted his diploma (grinning when he heard everybody cheer). The final student was just two after Sam and then Mr. Smith announced "The graduates of Lawrence High School". The students threw their hats in the air and they were dismissed. Sam met up with his friends and gave them hugs.

"Sam, your speech was great!" Jessica exclaimed. She placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Hey, that's my job." Gabriel grabbed Sam's hand.

"Well, we need to get going, so we'll see you guys tomorrow, right?" Brady questioned. Everybody nodded and then he and Jessica left. Crowley and Jody dismissed themselves, too.

"So, are you guys ready to go?"

"We should probably go see our families first, then we'll find you guys, okay?" Channing and Kevin nodded and the two couples parted ways.

"Can you believe we did it?" Sam questioned as he and Gabriel walked through the gym.

"And that we are going to California together?" Gabriel laughed.

"We just got lucky on that part."

"We got lucky on a lot of parts." Gabriel squeezed Sam's hand as they climbed the bleachers up to their families.

"A little higher on the right."

"I can't go any higher!" Gabriel called over at Dean. He and Sam were hanging a banner that said "Congrats Sam &Gabriel" in the Winchester's garage. Dean walked over and adjusted the banner so that it was even.

"There." Sam smiled. His and Gabriel's graduation party was going to begin in less than an hour.

"So, Gabriel, are you already to move like Sam is?" Dean asked as he made his to the grill.

"Well, pretty much. I know it's still a couple of months away, but I think it will be fun." Gabriel followed Dean towards the grill as Sam continued setting up the snack foods and pictures with Saraqeal.

"Well, I know you'll be busy with basketball and everything, but would you want a part-time job? I've got a friend that runs a bakery and is looking a new baker. It would only be a few times a week, or even less if you wanted. Totally up to you. He's a good guy and would be more than willing to work with you on your schedule."

"Wow, you really don't have to do that, Dean."

"It's nothing. I got Sam a job waiting tables at another friend's diner, but it's totally up to you. You don't have to if you don't want to."

"I would love to. I mean, I probably won't be able to work a lot."

"That's fine. He just needs some help here and there. His name is Garth Fitzgerald. I'll give him a call later." Dean started up the grills so that he and Bobby could start making some burgers and hot dogs before everybody started showing up.

"Thanks a lot, Dean. I really appreciate that." Dean nodded and then went inside to get the meat. Gabriel walked over to where Castiel and his mother were fixing the pictures.

"I can't believe how much they've grown up." Saraqeal sighed as she straightened out a picture of Gabriel as a baby.

"I know. Who knew that I was playing matchmaker all those years ago?" Castiel smiled at Gabriel.

"We didn't." Sam and Bobby appeared out of nowhere.

"Bobby! You going to help me, or what?" Dean yelled over. Bobby rolled his eyes.

"Keep your shirt on, boy." Bobby walked over to the other grill as Ellen pulled up with the cake.

"I'm here! Sorry! Those idjits can't spell names right so they had to redo it."

"Did you just say 'idjit'?" Dean called over to Ellen.

"What can I say?" Ellen replied, putting the cake on one of the tables. "He's rubbed off on me."

"Aw, well isn't that sweet?" The rest of the family finished setting up just before the guests arrived.

Hours later, there were very little leftovers and everybody was looking around at how much cleanup they had to do. The party seemed to go by in blur, but Sam and Gabriel were just happy the stressful part was over.

"Alright, boys, get started cleaning up." Castiel said as Dean opened up a beer and sat down next to him.

"Can't we just relax for a few minutes?" Sam closed his eyes and rested his head on Gabriel's shoulder.

"Aw," Gabriel kissed Sam's hair.

"Sammy seepy?" Dean took a drink of his beer. Sam nodded without opening his eyes.

"Boys, come on!" Ellen barked over at them. All four of them stood and began cleaning up.

"That was a lot of fun." Sam said, as he and Gabriel brought the picture boards into the house.

"Yeah, I'm so tired though. Maybe I should just spend the night over here." Gabriel smirked as they set their boards on the kitchen table.

"Yeah, you can sleep on the couch as Dean sleeps outside my room to make sure you stay there."

"Well that's just creepy."

"Dean still feels the need to protect me; especially from the dangers of my boyfriend pressuring me into sex."

"If I recall, you wanted to go up to bed with me."

"Only after you offered." Sam gave Gabriel a kiss before the two went back outside.

"So, can you two believe high school is over?" Castiel asked once the cleanup was done and everybody had gone inside. Dean, Castiel, Ellen and Bobby were sitting on the couch. Sam was on the couch next to Dean and Gabriel was leaning against Sam's leg on the floor. Saraqeal was sitting in the arm chair.

"No, it doesn't even seem real."

"Just wait until college. You guys will love it." Dean smiled.

"You think so?" Gabriel questioned. He wasn't sure. He'd be busy with classes, homework, basketball, and now his job that Dean had gotten him, when would he have time for Sam?

"Yeah, I do. You two will make new friends, but just remember one thing, boys."

"What's that, Dean?"

"Home is where the heart is."

Okay, so I skipped a few parts that were in the chapter '14 Years Later' in 'Little Piece of Heaven' (which is the companion piece to this, but about Dean and Cas). If you want to you can go ahead and read that, if not that's okay too. Anyway! Planning on doing a summer chapter, then we'll get into college! I'm excited for college and after! Ah! Aaaaanyway! Thanks so much for the reviews, faves and follows! Love y'all!
