"Damn, Sammy, why do you have so much crap?" Dean put another suitcase in the trunk of the Impala.

"Well, I'm moving half way across the country, Dean. I need some stuff."

"Right, but you'll be in a dorm room. You don't get that much room." Dean slammed the trunk shut. Sam rolled his eyes.

"Shut up. Are you driving the whole way?"

"Yup!"

"So, you won't even let me driver her one last time?"

"Nope!" Dean turned towards the house. "Cas! Are you ready to go?!" Dean yelled. Castiel came out carrying his own duffle bag. He stared at Dean and then moved his gaze to Sam.

"Are you sure you want to go all the way to California? Kansas is like five minutes away. They would love to have you." Sam smiled at one of his pseudo-dads.

"Yeah, Cas, I'm sure." Castiel sighed, defeated.

"Cas, babe," Dean walked closer and took the duffle bag out of Castiel's hands. "We need to get going." Dean kissed Castiel's temple and Castiel sighed.

"Fine, but if I cry it's your fault."

"Yeah, yeah, come on." Dean grabbed Castiel's hand and dragged him to the Impala. Dean put the duffle bag in the backseat behind the passenger seat.

"Do you want one last look around before we head off, Sam?"

"Um…yeah. I'll be right back." Sam walked back into the house and went up to his room and looked around. It was mostly empty. The only things that were left were his bed and his desk. All his posters, pictures, and clothes were going with him; he had moved his books into boxes and put them in his closet (well, the few that he wasn't taking with him). There was only one thing that he hadn't packed. It had been hidden in his closet since he was probably twelve, but he always knew that he was going to keep it. He opened his closet and reached up on the shelf. Sam's fingers grazed the cold metal. He grabbed the object and smiled.

"That's what you came back up here for?" Sam jumped and turned around to his older brother's voice. Dean had his arms folded and was leaning against the doorway. He had a half smile on his face.

"Well, you won't let me keep the real one." Sam held out the miniature Impala.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Look, before we leave, I want to get this out there."

"Should I sit down?"

"No, and I know that I kind of already said something like this, but I wish like hell Mom and Dad could've been here for this. They would be so proud of you. I don't know if they'd be prouder of you than I am, but still." Dean's smile faltered slightly.

"Thanks, Dean."

"Right, so that being said, I'm going to say something to you that I may or may not have said for a while."

"What's that?" Dean crossed the room and embraced his younger brother. Sam hugged back his older, but smaller, brother.

"I'm proud of everything you've done and I love you, Sammy." Dean said the last part so quietly Sam wasn't sure if he had actually heard that.

"I love you too, Dean." Sam whispered back just as quietly in Dean's ear. The brothers broke apart, but neither wanted to acknowledge the conversation.

"So," Dean cleared his throat. "Let's get going." Dean slapped Sam on the back (maybe a little harder than necessary) and the two made their way to the car.

"Your brotherly moment over so we can leave now?" Castiel mocked when the two came out of the house. Dean locked the front door as Sam walked over and leaned against the car. Dean made his way over to the car.

"Shut up, Cas." Dean kissed Castiel on the cheek. The three got in the car and Sam gave one final look at his home. At least for a while.

"And you have our tickets?" Remiel asked Saraqeal at the dinner table the night before they left.

"Yes, dear. They are right on my vanity."

"Good. Gabriel, are you packed?" Gabriel looked up from his phone. He was texting Sam back. Sam was going crazy in the car with Castiel and Dean.

"What? Oh, yeah. I'm ready."

"Okay, and then we'll buy you a new dresser once we get out there and Coach Turner said that they have a bed for you, right?"

"Yeah, they do."

"Good, good. And we'll send you your car." Gabriel didn't respond. He was staring at his phone. "Who are you texting?" Gabriel looked up from his phone again.

"Hm?"

"Gabriel, you'll see Sam tomorrow, do you two really need to be texting all the time?"

"Sorry, Dad." Gabriel slipped his phone in his pocket.

"Why did they drive again?"

"They could fit more in the car. The Impala has a huge trunk." And back seat, but Gabriel thought he shouldn't mention that part to his parents.

"Oh, I thought it was because Dean didn't want to fly." Gabriel looked up at his mother. He had forgotten how close Saraqeal and Dean were.

"That too."

"Anyway, we should get some sleep. We need to be well rested for the trip tomorrow." Remiel stood up and stretched.

"Right. What time does the flight leave again?"

"Ten in the morning and that way we can make it to Stanford, help Sam unpack, then we can go check into our hotel and then we'll get you all moved in on Sunday."

"Sounds good to me."

Later in his bedroom, Gabriel looked over his room again. It was mostly empty; he had left some clothes for when he came home. He sighed. He couldn't believe that he was leaving for California tomorrow.

"For the last time, Dean, I think we're lost."

"I used to live around here, Cas, I know where I'm going."

"Bullshit." Sam mumbled under his breath. His iPod and phone had died so he was stuck listening to Dean and Castiel argue about how to get to where they needed to be.

"I'll call Benny and see if he can help, okay?" Dean rolled his eyes.

"It's not even five AM; he's not going to be awake."

"Then Robin will be and she can wake him up."

"Fine, call one of them. I need to sleep in something other than this or a crappy motel."

"It wasn't that bad."

"Will you just call one of them?" Castiel snapped. Sam could tell that he was just getting irritated with the whole trip.

"Fine." Dean took out his phone and dialed a number.

"Hey, Robin…yeah, yeah, we're trying to get there so we can get some sleep before we have to be at Stanford...well, see, my husband thinks we're lost, but I…he is not always right." Dean rolled his eyes and Castiel smiled. Castiel grabbed the phone out of Dean's hand. Sam tried not to laugh in the backseat.

"Hey, it's Castiel…we're on…"Castiel looked out the window. "Scenic Vista…yeah, okay, Dean, take a left here." Castiel directed Dean to Robin and Benny's house. "Thanks Robin, be in in a second." Castiel hung up the phone and handed it back to Dean. "Oh wipe that look off your face. We found it." Castiel gave Dean a kiss on the cheek before getting out of the car.

"Sammy, grab our bag, please?" Dean glanced at Sam in the review mirror before he got out of the car himself. Sam sighed. He was so tired and he just wanted to sleep. They had to be at the airport to pick up the Principatums in five hours and he planned on sleeping as much as he could. He grabbed Dean and Castiel's bag and then got out of the car. He stretched and then followed Dean and Castiel into the house.

"Dean!" A thin woman around Dean's age with brown hair in a ponytail exclaimed. Dean placed a kiss on her cheek. She hugged Castiel and then turned her green-gray eyes on Sam.

"Oh Sam, you've grown up so much!" Robin Laffiate hugged Sam around the middle and Sam hugged her back.

"Hi, Robin, good to see you, again." Sam hugged her back. Sam hadn't seen Robin or Benny in about five years.

"Robin!" A male voice with a southern drawl yelled from somewhere down the hall. "Stop yellin'! Some of us are tryin' to sleep!"

"I got this." Dean smirked and held up a hand to Robin. He made his way into the bedroom. There were some shuffling sounds before Sam heard Benny speak up.

"Brother! Great to see you!" A man and Dean walked back down the hall with their arms around each other's shoulders. The man was slightly shorter than Dean with very short brown hair. His pale blue eyes were still a little droopy with sleep.

"Castiel, how are ya?" Benny extended his hand and Castiel took and shook it.

"Great, Benny. How are you?"

"Been better, it would be nice if I was still sleeping." Benny shot a hard look at Robin before he looked at Sam.

"Well, this can't be little Sam." Benny reached his hand out to Sam. Sam smiled and shook his hand.

"Yes, sir."

"Well, I also hear that you're going to be helping Robin out at the diner?"

"Yes, sir."

"Well good, she needs it." Benny took a step back and wrapped his arm around Robin's waist.

"Thanks, sweetheart." Robin rolled her eyes and then looked at Sam. "When did you want to start working? I can get you trained and everything before school starts if you want or if you would rather wait until you're all…"

"No, I want to start before school."

"Great! Monday morning, we'll get started and I'll get your class schedule and everything, but right now, you guys get some rest. I need to get going." Robin kissed Benny's cheek,

"Thanks again for letting us stay here." Dean yawned and stretched.

"Anytime, brother. The guest room is down this way, Sam, you are more than welcome to the couch. Robin laid a pillow and blanket there." Sam nodded, handed Dean his duffle bag and then went into the living room. He plugged his phone into the nearest outlet and then laid down on the couch. He fell asleep almost as soon as his head hit that soft pillow.

Gabriel kept looking out the window in the airplane. The roads, cars and houses kept getting smaller and smaller. He didn't want to miss anything. He had only been in an airplane a couple times before, and he was still a little nervous. He wished Sam had been there to help calm him down, but Sam would be at the airport when he landed. Gabriel sighed and then felt a tap on his shoulder. He took one of his ear buds out and turned to look at his mother.

"Sweetie, I think we're going to land soon. Sam will be there to pick us up right?"

"Yeah, and Dean and Castiel will be there for a car that you guys can use."

"Oh, you're not going with us to the hotel?" Saraqeal raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I just figured I could help Sam settle in some and then, well, I uh…" Gabriel felt his face get hot.

"I don't know if Dean and Castiel would be okay with that."

"Dean and Castiel or you and Dad?"

"Both. After Sam gets settled in, why don't we all go out to dinner? Isn't there a diner close that Sam will be working at?"

"Yeah, I guess so." Gabriel sighed, slightly defeated. He turned back around in his seat. He knew that after dinner there would be no way for him to get back to Sam's dorm. Maybe he should wait anyway. Sam was going to have a twin bed and Gabriel would have at least a full that would be a lot easier for the two of them to sleep on. He would run the idea by Sam after they landed. After all, once their parents were gone, the two could spend all of their time (well, minus classes, work and practices) together. They could even study together (not that Gabriel would understand half of what Sam was studying). Gabriel smiled at the idea of spending so much time with Sam. The two had even talked about staying in their dorms until the end of their sophomore years and then getting their own apartment. Gabriel was lost in a fantasy of his life with Sam. They had talked about an apartment that allowed dogs, of course. Gabriel wanted a balcony that they could see the ocean. That might have to wait until they were done with school, but hey, a guy could dream.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our descent into LAX, if you could please turn off all of your electronic devices." Gabriel heard the cool, female voice of the flight attendant come over the loud speaker about twenty minutes later. He shut his iPod off, wrapped his headphones around it and slid it into the side pocket of his backpack. The plane bounced slightly as it touched down on the runway and then slowly came to a stop at the gate. Gabriel stood up and stretched.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now at Los Angeles International Airport. The current local time is ten-forty five. Enjoy your stay here, and thank you for flying with us today." Gabriel turned his phone back on and saw that he had a text from Sam.

Samsquatch: Waiting baggage claim! Can't wait to see you!

Gabe: Just landed! Be there soon!

"Sam said their at baggage claim."

"Which one?" Remiel asked as he got his and Saraqeal's suitcase out of the overhead bin.

"There's more than one?"

"Gabriel," Remiel sighed. "Call Sam once we get inside, okay?" Gabriel nodded. The three walked into the airport and Gabriel was surprised at how many people were around. He dialed Sam's number and waited as the phone rang.

"Hey, where are you?"

"Well, I was about to ask you the same question. My dad wants to know which baggage claim you're at."

"Um…" There was a pause. "Four."

"Okay, see you soon, babe." Gabriel hung up and relayed the message to his parents. The three approached the baggage claim and Gabriel saw Sam above most of the heads of other people, which brought a smile to his face.

"Oh, there they are. Let's go."

"Sambo!" Gabriel called when they were close enough. Sam smiled and leaned down to give his boyfriend a kiss.

"Hey, Gabe." The parents exchanged hugs and hellos.

"Sam, all ready to move in?" Saraqeal asked when they broke apart.

"Yes, ma'am." Sam smiled.

"Good, and I had an idea. After we get Sam settled in, why don't we all go to dinner?" Sam quickly glanced at Gabriel.

"Yeah, that would be great." Dean responded for them. Remiel walked over to the carousel and the parents followed.

"So, how was the flight, hun?" Sam slid his hand down into Gabriel's.

"It was alright. I'm glad to be done with though."

"Gabriel! Come get your own bags!" Gabriel rolled his eyes.

"Yes, Dad!" Gabriel and Sam walked over and grabbed suitcases.

"So, we'll lead the way to Stanford if you guys want. We have a second car that you guys can use." Dean offered.

"That sounds great. Thank you, Dean." The group strode out to their cars.

"Here, this truck is what you guys can use. My friend fixed it up so it should run well." Dean handed the keys over to the truck. It was an extended cab, black, Ford F-150.

"That's going to be mine." Sam whispered to Gabriel. Benny had shown it to Sam and Dean just after they had woken up. Benny fixed it up and presented it to Sam. Sam liked the truck, don't get him wrong, but he would rather have the Impala.

"Alright, let's get going. Sammy, you're coming with us right?" Dean raised an eyebrow.

"Uh…yeah, sure. I'll see you in a little bit." Sam squeezed Gabriel's hand and then got into the Impala.

"Where should this box go, Sammy?"

"Um…just on my bed is fine; I'll unpack it later." Sam sighed and looked around. Dean dumped the last of the boxes on Sam's bed.

"So, dinner, soon?" Sam glanced at his watch. It was almost four-thirty and his roommate still hadn't shown up.

"Yeah, I…"

"Um…wow, I thought you were kidding when you said you had a big extended family." A voice came from the door. Everyone parted and standing there were four people. A larger, older man with thinning hair and glasses, an older woman with light brown hair and crinkles around her blue eyes, a girl probably a year or two younger than Sam that looked a lot like the woman, and then a boy a few inches shorter than Sam with brown eyes, black hair and a black goatee stood holding a box.

"Zach?" Sam smiled and walked over. The two had texted, but never actually talked.

"Hey, Sam, nice to finally meet you." Zach shifted the box into one arm and shook Sam's hand.

"Yeah, you too. Here, let me introduce you to everyone. Dean, Cas," The two stepped forward. "This is my brother, Dean and his husband, Castiel."

"Nice to meet you, these are my parents Melissa and Leslie."

"Hey! What about me!" The girl piped up. Zach rolled his eyes.

"And this is my little sister, Becky."

"Rebecca!" Sam laughed.

"Well, hi Rebecca. More introductions. This is my boyfriend Gabriel," Sam motioned with his arm (he tried to ignore the look way Rebecca's face fell). "And his parents, Sara and Remiel." Hands were shook and smiles exchanged.

"Well, we were going to head to dinner if you wanted to join us." Saraqeal offered.

"Oh, no thank you. We need to get Zach unpacked." Melissa replied.

"Okay, well I think we should get going. Benny just texted me to tell me that he's at the diner." Dean smiled. "Nice to meet you all."

"Sam, I'll see you later, alright?" Zach smiled.

"Yeah, and feel free to move my stuff around if you need more room or anything." Sam smiled back. The Winchesters and the Principatums left the dorm room, going to get their strength for moving in Gabriel the next day.

"So, which room is yours?" Sam asked the next morning. He smiled at Gabriel.

"Other side of the living room. Door number three." Gabriel pointed with his free hand. He had a suitcase of some knick knacks in his other. He saw that the living room already had couches and the TV set up, so he was probably the last one there. Gabriel opened the door to his room and walked in. It was plain and boring with nothing but his full bed in there, but that would change soon. Then he heard the grunting of Dean and his dad bringing in his dresser.

"Gabriel! Open the door!" Gabriel opened the door and Dean came in first. They put the dresser up against the wall.

"Look good?" Dean asked Gabriel. Gabriel nodded. Everyone brought in suitcases and soon, Gabriel saw his roommates come in. One was almost as tall as Sam with short brown hair and blue eyes, another with short blonde hair and blue eyes, and then there was one that was probably Gabriel's height with brown hair and gray eyes.

"Oh, hello. Very nice to meet you all." The tallest one smiled. "My name is Ezekiel."

"Now, Zeke, let's not lie to the nice people." The blonde one smirked. 'Ezekiel' glared at the blonde.

"Fine, Bartholomew, my name is Gadreel, but I prefer my middle name Ezekiel."

"There it is. As my friend said, my name is Bartholomew. We were just giving Samandriel," Bartholomew slapped the smallest one on the back. "A tour of the campus." Bartholomew smiled at Gabriel.

"Now, you're Gabriel, right?"

"Yeah," Gabriel shook all of their hands. "Nice to finally meet you guys." Gabriel introduced everybody else to his roommates.

"So, do you want to finish unpacking or we can take you around for a tour or…?"

"Well, I think I'm going to finish unpacking, but tomorrow?"

"Yeah, sounds good."

Down in the parking lot, Gabriel and Sam were saying goodbye to their guardians.

"Call us tomorrow, okay?" Saraqeal teared up and her voice broke.

"Of course, Mom." Gabriel hugged his mom and she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"I love you, sweetheart."

"I love you, too." The two broke apart and then Remiel and Gabriel hugged.

"Goodbye, son."

"Bye, Dad." Gabriel smiled.

"Hey, Sammy, we're going to get going, too. We need to take Sara and Remi to the airport." Sam nodded. He hugged Dean and Castiel. They began to leave until Dean turned around.

"Oh, one more thing. Switch me keys." Dean held up the keys to the Impala.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah, I think that you should keep her out here. Benny knows how to take care of her and so do you. I uh…" Sam had thrown his arms around Dean and hugged him tight.

"Thank you. Thank you so much, Dean." Dean hugged back.

"Anytime, Sammy." Castiel hugged Sam and then the adults hugged the other child.

"Well, behave boys." Dean winked at them and then got into the truck. The other three got into the truck and drove off. Sam and Gabriel waved until the truck was gone.

"So, Sammy, want to go break in my new bed?" Gabriel looked at Sam and waggled his eyebrows. Sam rolled his eyes, but smiled.

"Maybe as a treat after you finish unpacking."

"You're no fun." Gabriel stuck his tongue out at Sam.

"Work, then play."

"Is this how it's always going to be?"

"You betcha! Now come on." Sam grabbed Gabriel's hand and led him back up to his room.
