Chapter 13: The Power of Light and Thunder
Lita was sitting in the stands, her long legs crossed as she sat back in her hands watching as her fiancé sped around the racetrack. He was the fastest racecar driver in Toyko, no one could beat him. She smiled softly as she got up and went to grab something from the car.
Walking out to the car, her head started to ache a little. For some reason over the last several weeks her head would start to throb randomly. She moaned softly, rubbing her head. "You okay there?" a voice asked. She looked over to see a young man standing there.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, "Just a headache."
She grabbed her jacket and went inside.
Later on, Lita was looking out at Sage as he got out of the car, pulling off his helmet. He pushed his hair out of his eyes briefly and Lita felt her heart miss several beats as she walked up to him. "Hey," he said smiling.
"Hey, handsome," she answered as he pulled her close and kissed her deeply.
Sage kissed her back, holding her in his arms. Pulling back, she rested her head on his shoulder as her head started to throb again. "Your head still?" he asked. She nodded her head slowly, rubbing her temple. He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I'll change and we can go home," he told her.
"Okay," she answered.
He let her go, heading towards the trailer to get out of his racing stuff. She sat down, her arms wrapping around her legs. She moaned softly in pain, the pain was getting intense. "What's the matter little girl, headache?" the man from before asked with a sneer.
Standing up, Lita gave him a glare. "Who are you?" she demanded.
"Oh, I think you remember," he answered simply, "That's why you have the headaches isn't it?"
"They're headaches and why does it matter to you?" she demanded.
The man just smirked at the young woman. "Is something wrong?" Sage asked as he stood beside Lita, his arm going around her waist. He looked at the man. "What do you want here?" he asked.
"Nothing important…for now," he answered.
The man's eyes glinted red briefly, making Sage's heart seize in his chest for a brief moment. "Hey!" he called out but the man left. Not wanting to make a scene, Sage stopped following him.
In the Negaverse, Queen Beryl sat on her throne with her crystal ball in front of her. She was staring at all of the Ronin Warriors, one by one with each Sailor Scout. "They live!" she hissed, "And so do their Sailor Scouts."
"Fortunately for us, only the Ronin Warriors seem to remember their lives during the Silver Millennium," the man stated as he came in from the shadows.
"Yes, but that looks like it will be changing soon wont it, Malikite?" she demanded.
"It seems that Princess Jupiter is beginning to remember, but I wouldn't worry my Queen, one girl remembering her life as a Princess won't deter your plans," her servant answered.
Beryl sneered at Malikite. "I want her dead, Sailor Jupiter was the strongest of the five Sailor Scouts, the Sailor Scout of Thunder and Lightning must not return to her true form!" she spat.
"I would, my Queen, what would you suggest? The Warrior of Halo never leaves her side," he answered.
The evil Queen just smirked evilly. "You kill one, the other will surely die," she stated simply.
Back in Earth's realm, her headache had finally faded away. Sage, however, was perturbed by the change of events. The two of them were sitting in the park, he was leaning back against a tree while Lita was lying on the ground, her head resting in his lap. "What are you thinking about?" she asked.
"Hmm? Oh…nothing important," he replied.
Lita didn't believe him. "You don't look at me when you're lying," she stated simply as she sat up. Sage stared at her.
"It's really nothing," he assured her.
Before she could protest, lightning flashed across the sky. "That's strange, there weren't any reports of storms," they heard someone say. Sage stood up from the ground, sensing that something was about to happen. Lita couldn't stay here, she could get hurt or killed. She wasn't ready to be Sailor Jupiter again.
The sky grew darker as lightning flashed back to back. Evil laughter filled the park as the people began to panic and scatter. "Lita, get out of here," Sage told her.
"What are you going to do?" Lita demanded.
"Don't worry about me," he answered.
He started running towards the bridge where the lightning was the strongest. "SAGE!" she shouted, going after him.
As Sage ran towards the bridge, he stopped quickly when he saw a minion taking the panicked people's energy as they were crossing the bridge. "Give me all of your energy," it laughed as it sucked more energy out of another terrified person.
"Hey!" Sage called out, "Only a coward attacks the defenseless!"
The minion cackled. "You would know about being defenseless, won't you boy?" she sneered. Taking her hand, she let out a shriek of laughter as she swung lightning at him. Sage leapt out of the way, rolling across the ground. What he didn't know was Malakite was standing in a tree, watching with an evil smirk on his face.
Sage pulled out his orb, the wisdom symbol glowing brightly in the middle as he tossed it into the air. "WISDOM!" he shouted as he leapt backwards in the air, his sub armor appearing on his body. The minion hissed in anger as she looked at him. "ARMOR OF HALO! DAO CHI!" he shouted.
Malakite chuckled evilly as he watched the young man battle his minion. Lita ran over and her eyes grew wide as her fiancé battled the creature in armor she had never seen before. "Lita! Get out of here!" Sage called out as he blocked an attack the minion aimed at her, "It's too dangerous for you!"
"You think I'm afraid of some big lizard?" she answered.
She leapt at the creature with a shout. "LITA, NO!" he shouted as the minion went to throw lightning at her. Thinking fast, Sage leapt in front of her crying out as the black lightning went through him. Lita's eyes grew wide and just like that she felt a sharp pain go through her chest.
Malakite chuckled evilly as the Warrior of Light fell to his knees groaning in pain. "Poor little Earth Boy," the minion sneered. Lita glared through the tears of pain in her eyes.
"Stay away from him," she ordered.
The minion laughed. "He has a lot of energy! Energy my Queen needs!" she said excitedly as she walked over to the injured warrior who glared at her.
"No!" Lita called out.
Suddenly, an arrow whizzed through the air making the minion scream in horror and jump back. "You started the party without us? Sage, I'm insulted," Rowen quipped as he landed beside his injured friend. Cye rushed over, helping him up.
"You alright?" he asked Sage.
"Never better," Sage answered, holding his side.
The minion looked excited. "Oh! My Queen will be pleased," she said with a sneer. She swung her arm as the black lightning went for all of them.
"SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!" Sailor Mercury shouted.
The minion shrieked, she could no longer see. Sage leaned against the rail, he felt weak from the black lightning that had gone through his body. Malakite landed in front of the Warrior of Light. "Since your friends are distracted with my friend here, shall we have our own duel Sage of the Halo?" he asked. Sage glared at him.
"Gladly," he answered, reaching for his sword.
Luna ran over to Lita with the wand in her mouth. "Lita! Use this," she told the young woman.
"You can talk?" Lita said in disbelief.
"No time! Hold this up and call out 'Jupiter power!'," the cat insisted, "Quickly, Sage needs your help!"
Lita held the wand up. "JUPITER POWER!" she shouted. As she transformed into Sailor Jupiter, her eyes grew wide in disbelief.
She saw quick flashes of her past life, her life as Princess Jupiter. Playing in the gardens as a child, learning to be a Sailor Soldier to protect the Silver Millennium. She saw Sage…no his name wasn't Sage then. It was Seiji, her handsome Seiji. She saw how they fell in love, their secret marriage. Then his brave sacrifice, giving his life for hers only for her to die in his arms from her broken heart.
Her eyes grew wide as she watched as Sage struggled against Malakite, still weak from the attack. Anger showed in her emerald eyes as she held her hands up in front of her in an X as a lightning rod came from her tiara. "I call upon the power of Jupiter," she murmured. She narrowed her eyes as Malakite. "JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!" she shouted.
She rushed over to the queen's evil servant, leaping in the air she kicked him hard in the chest, sending him backwards. "You won't touch him," she spat as she landed in front of Sage. Sage just grinned, looking at her. "We have work to do," she told him. He nodded in agreement as they looked back at the minion their friends were fighting. "Can you do this?" she asked.
"Yep," he replied, "It's just another day."
She just grinned as she held her hands up as he held his sword above his head. "THUNDER!" he shouted.
"JUPITER!" she shouted.
"BOLT!"
"THUNDER!"
"CUT!"
"CRASH!"
The minion screamed in agony as she was thrown backwards. "You're up," Sage called out to Rowen and Sailor Moon. They nodded in agreement as Sailor Moon's staff appeared and Rowen held up his arrow at the minion.
"MOON!"
"ARROW!"
"SCEPTER!"
"SHOCK!"
"ELIMINATION!"
"WAVE!"
The minion screamed in horror as both attacks hit her and completely destroyed her. Malakite glared as he pulled out a dagger, going for Sage's neck. Ryo was faster as he took his katana cutting the enemy's hand easily making the dagger fly up in the air. "Give it up, you lost," Cye told him. Malakite just glared at them.
"You think so do you?" he asked with a grin, "You may have won the battle you meddlesome brats, but you haven't won the war!"
Rowen fired an arrow but he easily dodged the attack before he swung his cloak around himself and disappeared completely. Sage looked over at Jupiter and she looked right back at him. "You remember," was the only thing he said, making her smile.
"Wow, Lita! You're Sailor Jupiter, awesome!" Sailor Moon said excitedly.
"I guess I am," she answered.
Sage looked at his friends. "Four down," he commented.
"One to go," Ryo agreed with a slight nod.
At the Date home, Sage winced as Lita was tending to the injury on his side. "What do you remember?" he asked, trying to distract himself from the burn on his side. Lita looked at him as she stopped with her task, looking at him.
"Everything," she replied.
He looked over at her. "Do you remember?" she asked.
"I do," he replied.
"Do the others?" she asked.
"The guys do, the girls don't," he replied.
Lita had him lift his arm again and placed an ice pack against it, making him hiss in pain. "How long have you remembered?" she asked.
"Since I received my armor, and that was during the summer," he replied.
Lita stared at him. "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked.
"It was too dangerous, if you found out too soon it would've been too dangerous," he answered.
She set the ice pack on the floor and kissed him deeply. He was stunned at first, but then he kissed her back and held her to him. "I love you," she whispered against his lips.
"I love you," he answered, holding her close.
