Chapter 15: Repeating History
Ami was holding Cye's hand as they were walking towards school. "You seem off in another world today, love," he commented.
"Do I? I don't mean to be," she said flushing.
Cye pressed a kiss to her cheek. "What's on your mind?" he asked.
"It's nothing that important really," she answered.
"Then what has your head preoccupied?" he asked.
She shrugged her shoulders. "I overheard my mom talking to your mom on the phone," she answered, "Cye, what will happen to us when we are done with high school?" he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"You are on a visa for educational purposes only, once we graduate high school that'll be invalid," she answered.
Cye frowned. "Are you worried that we'll never see each other again?" he asked. Ami kept her head lowered and he stopped walking. "Ami, you are part of my life now, part of my soul even. I'll never let that happen," he told her. Ami rested her hands on his chest when he tilted her head up and kissed her lightly to prove his point. She kissed him back, her hands gripping the front of his shirt.
"Whoa, hey you two get a room," Kento quipped.
They pulled away, their cheeks flushed deep red. "Kento, will you not be men to them?" Mina asked, rolling her eyes. Kento smirked as he draped his arm over her shoulders. "Where are you two off to?" Mina asked.
"I was dropping Ami off at the library and I'm heading over to swim practice," Cye answered.
"You don't need practice, Cye, you're already awesome," Kento commented.
"Thanks, but I still have to be at practice," Cye answered.
"When's you're next meet?" Mina asked.
"Next week," he replied as they crossed a street.
Ami smiled as he held her close.
Later on, Cye was getting done with practice when he felt like he was being watched. Looking over his shoulder, he saw a woman sitting on the bleachers watching. "Hey, Cye, come on!" one of his team members called out. Frowning, he followed the rest of the team.
Walking out of the gym wearing sneakers, blue jeans, a striped t-shirt, and his hooded jacket. Just as he stepped outside, it started to rain. "Figures," he muttered, pulling his hood over his head. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, heading back towards Ami's house when he had the feeling someone was following him. Turning to his right, he saw a car pull up beside him.
"Need a ride, cutie?" the girl asked.
"I'm alright thank you," he answered.
"In this pouring rain?" she asked.
"I won't drown," he answered.
He kept walking, feeling her eyes almost burn holes into his back.
The girl glared, she refused to let these brats get in her Queen's way any longer. She drove after him, then sped up as the teenager ran around the corner to get away from her.
Cye ran down an alley, seeing a fence he climbed the fence hissing when the barbed wire at the top cut into his hands. "Bloody hell," he muttered as he jumped down onto the other side. He took off running as the woman drove down the alley after him. "This woman has lost her mind!" he exclaimed as she drove down the fence.
He let out a shout when he slid on the wet sidewalk, making him fall and roll in the street. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his orb. "Tr-" he started to call out when the woman nearly ran him down. He dove out of the way when the car finally stopped. The woman got out as Cye held his side in pain.
"Aw, the poor Ronin Warrior got a booboo?" she sneered.
She walked over, grabbing the orb that was just out of his reach. Jumping to his feet, he glared at her. "Who are you?" he demanded.
"None of your concern," she answered, "I just want to check something."
Cye glared at her when she held her hand up. His eyes grew wide as it felt like his inside were being torn apart. He dropped to his knees, crying out in agony. "MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!" a voice shouted. Suddenly everything became foggy and the woman hissed when Sailor Mercury stood in front of him. "Stay away from him," Sailor Mercury snapped.
"Well, if it isn't the pretty princess, why don't you go home and play with your dolls little girl? We have business to attend to," the woman told her.
Mercury glared at her. "You won't touch him," she hissed. Cye was trying to catch his breath, holding his chest. "Cye, are you okay?" she asked.
"She has my armor orb," he replied with a wince.
Mercury crouched down beside him, her hand touching his back before she glared at the woman. "Give that back," she snapped.
"Oh this? It's a pretty little marble isn't it?" she asked with a smirk as she tossed it up in the air then catching it again.
She tossed it up again when an arrow flew out of nowhere, hitting he in the hand, making her shriek in pain and the orb dropped to the ground. The orb started heading towards the storm drain. "GRAB IT!" Ryo shouted. Sage slid across the ground, grabbing the orb just as it was inches from the drain.
"Alright lady, tell us who you are and your death will be quick," Kento snapped.
The woman just started laughing, pushing her blond hair over her shoulder. "Well…this is unfair…there's six of you and one of me. What's a poor girl to do?" she said with a fake sob, "Oh…call for backup." Suddenly the whole street was filled with minions. "Distract them boys," she told them as they charged at Sailor Mercury and the Ronin Warriors.
She walked over to Cye who was standing up. Reaching out, she pushed him against the wall. "CYE!" Kento shouted as he tried to get to his friend.
"Alright, let's see what you're hiding," he told him.
Rowen's eye grew wide when he saw the woman press her hand to Cye's chest and his friend started shouting in pain. "CYE!" he called out trying to push his way through the minions.
"SOMEONE GET TO HIM!" Ryo shouted.
Sage kicked a minion back. "THUNDER…" he started to call out.
"No! You could hit Cye!" Mercury called out.
Sage looked over and his indigo eyes went wide when he saw what looked like a black hole form in his friend's body. "No way!" he exclaimed.
"Let him go you freak!" Kento snarled.
She smirked when she saw her prize, taking the crystal from him she let Cye drop to the ground. "CYE!" Mercury screamed as Cye fell to his knees then fell completely onto his front, "NO!"
The woman smirked as she held the light blue crystal up in front of her. "It's beautiful," she commented, "Such beauty in an energy crystal!" She snapped her fingers and the minion stopped fighting and Mercury ran to Cye.
"Cye! Cye!" she called to him, pushing him onto his back.
His skin felt cold as ice, but he was breathing, his sea-green eyes were suddenly blank. "What the hell did you do?!" Ryo demanded.
"Oh? You mean this?" she asked, holding up the crystal, "A nice little gift for my Queen."
"Listen here lady, you better give that back or you're going to be nothing but a blond puddle!" Kento snapped.
She just raised her brow. "And risk destroying his crystal? You destroy this, your friend dies," she answered, "Oh well, who needs a Warrior of Trust?"
Mercury placed her hand on Cye's face. "Cye, can you hear me?" she asked as tears slipped down her cheeks, "You promised that we would never be apart!" She rested her head on his chest, crying softly. "If you die, I will never love again," she said sobbing. The woman smirked as she disappeared before Sage could slice her in two. Kento knelt beside Mercury, resting his hands on her shoulders when the girls ran up. They had been trapped by a group of minions when they were trying to reach the ground. When they finally made it, they saw that they were too late.
"We need to move him," Rowen told them.
Ryo walked over, helping Mercury up as Kento bent down, picking Cye up. "We'll get him to the temple," Sailor Mars insisted.
"Quickly, we're running out of time," Sage answered.
They ran towards the temple, morphing back into their street clothes.
Cye was placed on a blanket and pillow in the meditation room. Rei was working with her healing abilities. "Wrap him up before he gets hyperthermia on top of this," she told Ryo, who wrapped his friend up in blankets.
"What can you do for him?" Serena asked.
"Only temporary fixes, whatever she took from him he needs it back before it kills him," Rei answered.
Mina looked over to see the rage in Kento's eyes. He walked out of the room, punching a hole into one of the doors. "Kento!" Mina called out.
Kento walked outside, gripping the rail to the temple as he was trying to gain his composure. Cye was his best friend, always had been since the guy first arrived in Japan. Just like they were close friends, like brothers in their past lives. He put his head in his hands when Mina walked over, wrapping her arms around her distraught boyfriend. "Cye's a good guy, Mina. He's never hurt anyone, only evil. He doesn't deserve this," he muttered.
"I know," she answered softly, kissing hiss shoulder.
He let out a deep breath, walking down the steps. "Where are you going?" she asked.
"After her," he replied, "To save Cye."
"I'm going with you," she told him.
"No way," he answered.
"Cye and Ami are my friends too, I'm coming," she told him.
Kento nodded his head slowly as he reached for his orb and she grabbed her wand. "VENUS POWER!" she shouted.
"ARMOR OF HARDROCK! TAO GI!" he shouted.
They transformed, running through the gates. "Kento! Venus!" Ryo shouted, "They're gone."
"Then we better go too," Sage answered.
Ryo nodded and looked at Rei. "I've got this, go," she insisted.
"ARMOR OF HALO! DAO CHI!" Sage shouted.
"ARMOR OF STRATA! TAO INOCHI!" Rowen shouted.
"ARMOR OF WILDFIRE! DAO JIN!" Ryo shouted.
"MOON PRISIM POWER!" Serena shouted.
"JUPITER POWER!" Lita shouted.
They transformed, running after Kento and Mina while Rei and Ami stayed behind.
Kento and Mina arrived in the middle of the park. "Come out and face us coward!" Kento snapped.
"Ooh temper, temper Warrior of Hardrock," The woman said with a sigh as she stood in a tree.
Kento swung around. "Give us that crystal," he snarled.
"Oh this one?" she asked, holding it up, "Sadly this isn't the crystal my Queen needs."
"Good then give it back!" Kento snapped.
The woman smirked as she jumped down from the tree. "Well then, you will have to come get it," she said with a grin as minions filled the park.
"Gladly," Kento answered.
Sailor Venus threw a minion over her shoulder while Kento swung his bo out, the chain wrapping around a minion's neck and throwing it across the park, making it crazy into the statue in the middle of the park. Kento had his eyes on the woman who was holding Cye's crystal. She just smirked as the Warrior of Hardrock went to run at her. "Any closer and I crush it," she told him. Kento stopped with a glare.
She just laughed because she had the upper hand when suddenly a loud roar was heard and the woman screamed as White Blaze jumped right on top of her, his long fangs inches from her face. "Get the crystal!" Ryo called out. She took the crystal, throwing it up before she kneed White Blaze in the stomach. She jumped off the tree trunk and grabbed it again before they can reach for it. She pulled out her sword, aiming it for Sage who blocked her attack easily.
She swung her sword at Kento who blocked her attack, the chain to his bow, wrapping around the blade of her sword. She jumped up, kicking him in the stomach making him lose his balance. She rolled across the ground, but when Rowen grabbed her from behind she elbowed him in the stomach then thrust her elbow up into his throat. She tripped his foot out from under him as Rowen grabbed an arrow, thrusting it into her side. She let out a scream, trying to kick Rowen in the face but he caught her leg, twisting it. "Ryo! Grab the crystal!" he called out when the crystal fell from her hand. Ryo was surrounded by minion, and was fighting his way to the crystal when White Blaze grabbed it.
"Get it to Cye, buddy!" Kento called out, "Get to Cye!"
White Blaze took off running while the others were fighting against the minions that had them surrounded. "THUNDERBOLT CUT!" Sage shouted.
"SUPREME THUNDER DRAGON CRASH!" Jupiter shouted.
"VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!" Venus shouted.
"IRON ROCK CRUSHER!" Kento shouted.
"ARROW SHOCK WAVE!" Rowen shouted
"MOON TIARA MAGIC!" Sailor Moon shouted.
"FLARE UP NOW!" Ryo shouted.
Their attacks were useless to the large army, it was as if every attack only multiplied them. "What the hell are we supposed to do now?" Kento demanded, "There's too many of them!"
"We've got to think of something, quick!" Sage called out as the stabbed his sword through a minion.
The woman held her side, laughing as she watched them try to defeat the minions surrounding them. "SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!" a voice shouted, freezing all of the minions in their places. Sailor Mercury jumped down, glaring at the woman.
"Looks like we just made it to the grand finale," Cye commented.
"Alright, Cye!" Kento said with a grin.
Cye held up his spear. "SUPER…WAVE…SMASHER!" he shouted.
"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!" Sailor Mercury shouted.
Their powers combined together, taking out every frozen minion. "Let's help them out!" Rowen told them. They each started throwing their attacks, turning every minion into chunks of nothing before they disappeared completely.
"Great to have you back, Cye," Sage said with a grin as Kento grabbed his best friend in a bear hug.
"Man we thought we'd never see you again!" Kento exclaimed.
"Kento, air!" Cye answered, "Need air!"
Kento let his friend go as Cye nearly fell gasping for air. "Sheesh, Kento, don't crush the man," Sage quipped.
"Hey, we almost lost Cye," Kento answered.
Mercury rested her hands on Cye's shoulders, hugging him with a smile on her face. Cye rested his hands over hers with a smile.
As Cye stood up, Mercury's eyes suddenly grew wide as he removed his helmet. She saw flashes before her eyes, playing in the snow in the Mercury Kingdom. Gaining her title as Sailor Soldier for the Moon Kingdom. Becoming a healer for the injured and sick. Then she saw Cye…no…Shin! Her handsome Shin, how they swam in the lake together, and the way they danced together during the parties. She remembered the night they realized their souls were one. Then she remembered throwing herself in front of him to protect him from Queen Beryl. "Your eyes are so beautiful," she remembered saying.
Cye realized Mercury was just staring at him. "You alright, love?" he asked.
"Wha? Yeah…yeah I'm fine," she answered.
Suddenly, she walked over and hugged him tightly around the neck. "I remember," she whispered, "I remember everything…Shin." Cye's eyes grew wide, but then he hugged her tighter as he lifted her up off the ground, swinging her around once. Kento, Venus, Sage, and Jupiter smiled, knowing exactly what was going on. Sailor Mercury remembered their past. They looked over at Ryo, Mars, Rowen, and Sailor Moon. They could only hope they would remember their lives together before their big fight against Beryl.
