The Maple Treeway was always pleasant, chilly, and peaceful... but today was not that day. Because an unexpected visitor dropped by.
"How the hell do you guys put up with this stupid suit!?" Birdo exclaimed with frustration as she was running around in a cat suit, with hers being the exact same color as herself.
Birdo was helping Mario fight off Hisstrocrat, who had popped up around the finish line of the Maple Treeway along with his six other greenish snakes. Hisstrocrat briefly dug underground as he popped out immediately, summoning giant boulders that came raining down on Birdo and Mario, injuring them greatly.
"Mamma mia!" Mario commented as he lost his yellow cat suit, being exposed as he searched for a Super Bell. "This serpent is more aristocratic than I anticipated!"
"Mario, now's not the time!" Birdo groaned as she tried running on all fours, only to be knocked back by raining boulders as she somehow didn't lose her cat suit, due to being stuck in it.
