Lucy phones vibrated at her bedside. She picked it up and unlocked her phone. A message flashed across the screen it said she had 8 miss calls , 10 text messages and 3 voice mails. They were all from Natsu so she did even bother looking at them. Yesterday Lucy stay in bed eating chocolate and watching anime. It was Monday morning and she had to get up even if she didn't want to. Lucy rolled out of bed and get herself ready for the morning. Her parents were downstair discussing something. When she walked in they smiled at her.

'Lucy dear your father and I have some great news."

"What is it ?" Lucy said looking a upon their happy faces.

"Well we just got a call if a friend of your dad and they said they want you to come to America to study abroad. Isn't that great." Her mother said. Lucy was stunned about the prospect of studying abroad.

"Lucy this is a great opportunity for you. You can study business and take over the empire." Said her father.

"I think about." Lucy replied with a weak smile.

"Well don't think too long because there a other kids want this to." Said her father

The rest of the breakfast Lucy ate quietly soaking it all in. She was so unsure about. When she got to school she told Levy and Erza about it.

"Lucy this is great you will never get a chance like this." Erza told her

"You're so lucky." Levy said

Her friends didn't give her a reason not to go but that wasn't enough for her to make up her mind.

Lucy pondered on this all the way to class she thought she might even tell Natsu and get his thoughts on this,but those thoughts were sent to back of her mind when she saw the scene in front of her. Lisanna was laying on Natsu arm and Natsu didn't look like he minded it at all he was busy chatting with Gray.

Lucy looked away and sat quietly in her seat waiting for the teacher to begin class.

"Hey Luce why didn't you return my calls." Lucy heard that familiar voice say. Of course it was Natsu looking all happy and cheery as usual. Lucy didn't reply.

"What wrong Luce you don't look your usual self." Natsu said but before he could say more the teacher walked in. Natsu sulked to his seat wondering why Lucy was upset.

"I hope you all are putting the finishing touch on your projects because we will be presenting soon but not just in front of the class but in front of the whole school." Mr. Dicktips told his class.

The rest of class was boring as usual,but after class Lisanna came up to her and handed her a bag.

"It the bunny costume for the festival hope you like it." Lisanna told her with a smile, Lucy couldn't help but smile in return.

"Thanks." She replied to her. Lisanna turned around and walked out of class.

Lucy was about to step out of class when a tall lean figure stop her in her tracks.

"Luce what wrong why won't you talk to me." Natsu said looking down at her with a worried face.

Lucy couldn't bear it. Was she even still mad at him.

"Oh it nothing I'm just tried that all." Lucy lied before Natsu could pry more anymore she pushed past him and walked to her locker but she didn't get far when the I Heart Natsu Dragneel Club walked out of whatever dark corner they were at. Sue looked like a wild gorilla whose banana had been stolen.

"Well, well If it ain't Ms. I'm so cute I think I can date Natsu." said Sue snarled

"Jeez not them." Lucy thought to herself.

"So did he ask you the dance yet or did he realize the your so ugly nobody could date you?" Sue question with any ugly little smile on her face.

"No he didn't ask me." said Lucy hoping her answer would satfished them enough to leave her alone in her bad mood. The whole bursted out laughing.

"Oh wow I bet you're sad he doesn't like." said a girl in the back.

When Sue finally regain her composure from laughing at someone else's misfortune. She said "This is great poor ugly Lucy Heartfilia got no date to the dance, she can dress up as one of the ugly stepsisters."

"And who will you be Cinderella and Natsu will be Prince Charming? Well sorry to break your fantasy but just because Natsu not going with me doesn't mean he is open for you" Lucy snapped

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Sue said looking surprised at Lucy sudden comment. "If Natsu not going with you then who is he going with." Sue continued.

"Natsu is going to the dance with ….." Lucy paused as if she didn't want to say it. "Lisanna." Lucy finished walking away as fast as she could leaving the group of utterly desperate girls behind.

"Wait." Sue shouted behind her. "Lisanna told us she didn't like Natsu." but Lucy did hear because she was already halfway down the hall.

Sue then turned to her follower "Lisanna is going to pay for lying to us and so is little ." Her followers nodded their head in agreement and huddled to get their whispering their plan.

Lucy fast walked turned into a sprint when she turned the corner. She was watching where she was going when she butted into someone. She fell back hard on the hallway floor. In front of her was a tall blond with shagging hair. Lucy could see the out line of muscles in his shirt. Lucy looked a upon with awe because he was pretty dang hot.

"Sorry Miss." he said in a soothing voice as he reach his hand out to help her up. Lucy looked at his hand for a moment then put her palm on his. His hands were huge compared to hers. The sexy blond then pulled her up to her feet.

"Thanks you and you don't have to apologize it was my fault anyway." Lucy said smiling at him a little embarrassed .

"Oh ok. Ummm could you help me for a second I'm new here and I don't know where my class is." He told her

"Sure I would be glad to return the favor." Lucy answered him

"By the way what your name?" He asked her.

"Lucy Heartfilia and your." Lucy replied

"Sting Eucliffe." he answered with a total heart melting smile.

"This guy is so hot he could rival Natsu."Lucy thought in her brain. She smiled at him again and told him to follow her down the hallway. Sting looked Lucy up and down and smirked to himself.

"Well I guess this new school won't be so bad after all." he thought to himself.

Meanwhile somewhere else in the school Natsu was sulking down the hallway to the clubroom for baseball.

"Is Lucy mad at me?" he wondered. "What did I do?"

"Maybe it is because I ate all the brownies at her house, but I could help myself they were so good."

"Hey Natsu." everyone said as he walked in the room.

"What up guys." Natsu said

"Did you ask her yet?" Gajeel asked.

"Did you asked her yet?" Natsu replied.

"No." Gajeel said sulking. "What if she does like big guys I mean she so tiny."

"Just ask her." Natsu said flatly.

"No guy Natsu didn't ask her instead her said yes to Lisanna." Gray answered for Natsu as he walked in.

"What?" they club members replied.

"I thought you like her a lot because it always Lucy this and Lucy that lately." Loke said with a smirk.

"I was going to but Lisanna asked me and you guys know how I can't bear to see a girl sad." Natsu state as an excuse.

"Admitted Natsu you were to scared." Gajeel yelled

"No I wasn't, at least I don't think I was because Lucy just the type of person who is so easy to talk to. Her smile is beautiful even though she doesn't know it. Her eye are like big brown holes that just suck you in. Everything about her is just great. I think, I think, I'm might like her alot ot just as a friend but is special to me." Natsu went on.

"OOOOOOOOOOOO." was all the rest could get out.

"Natsu is in love." Gray commented.

"Stop you guys it not like that." Natsu told his friend as they teased him.

"Natsu and Lucy sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g." They sang while laughing there heads off.

"Come on you guys what is this kindergarten." Natsu cried.

"Jeez why did I say that out loud." Natsu thought "But all of that does matter because she wouldn't talk to me."

Natsu little to no idea that else where Lucy was had made a new friend who might just give him a run for his money no just in looks but in the race for Lucy heart. Let the race the begin will Natsu and Lucy pull through or will they both be defeated by the problems life throws at them.
