Christmas went by amazingly. Elsa and I finally were connecting again, and Papa came back from his business trip to spend the holidays with us. I got to have a break from Hans and his goons' bullying. Unfortunately, Christmas break had to end sometime. I had Elsa this time to help me through the bullying, though. Sadly, it only got worse. Honestly, the worst time that year was the day we played dodgeball in gym class at the end of the year.
Coach Merida smiles at us, "Today I have something special planned for all of you."
The whole class groans from the bleachers, including me. She rolls her eyes and grins at us.
"Aw, boo hoo. Alright, today we are going to play... dodgeball!" Merida says happily.
Most of the class cheers, but some people groan, knowing that they were going to be targets. Merida claps her hands, and we walk off the bleachers and surround Coach Merida. Elsa nudges me, smiling comfortingly at me. Oh yeah, special area classes are a mix of my grade and sixth grade so I had a couple classes with Elsa. She grabs my hand, and we listen to what the Coach has to say.
"Alright, everyone get in a single file line. Now!" Merida orders.
All the students scramble to get in a line, Elsa being shoved away from me. I look worriedly as she is shoved towards the back, but she gives me a goofy grin. I smile and turn back towards the front. Merida walks down the line, telling people to either go to the left or right side of the gym. She tells me to go to the left, and I leave the line.
I smile towards the other kids on my side. They were all kids I knew, at least. I look over at the line, seeing that Elsa was placed on my side. I smile, and the girl giggles as she walks over towards me.
"At least we have a chance now. Elsa, you're good at this so tell us what to do," a kid, I think his name is Naveen.
Elsa grins, "Thanks. Alright, let's see who is on our team and who's on the other one before we make a plan."
We wait for the teams to be completely finished before we scan the other team and ours. Well, we actually had an okay team with Kristoff, Olaf, and Elsa. They were the best at this on our team. On the other team, they had Hans, Simba, and Rapunzel. Some of Hans's goons were also on his team, but I never took the time to learn their names.
Elsa nods as she sees our team and the other team, "Alright. I think Kristoff, Olaf, and I probably have the most accuracy and strength. Someone correct me if I am wrong," no one corrected her. "So you guys can dodge the balls and pick them up. Try and avoid getting hit and hand ammunition to us. This is a team effort so we all need to put in the effort, or the other team is going to cream us."
Everyone nods, and Merida blows her whistle, "Alright, the game is starting. Stay behind the furthest black line until I blow my whistle. Once I blow it, you may all run up to midcourt and grab a ball. Now, if you are hit, you're out. If you catch someone's ball, they are out, and you can bring one of your teammates who got out back in. With that, let's get this game started!"
I get behind the black line, the rest of my team following. We tense up, ready to fling forward once the whistle blows. For a second, there is silence until the shrill sound of Merida's whistle blows through the otherwise silent gym.
"Charge!" I hear Elsa scream.
We all start running towards the balls, picking up as many as we can before the other team has a chance to start throwing. I hand the ball I got to Elsa, and she nods in appreciation before throwing it onto one of the kid's leg. She smiles in victory as the girl frowns and stands on the out-of-bounds line.
I squeak in surprise as a ball barely misses me. Running away from the spot I was a few seconds ago, I look over to the other side. Gulping, I see Hans and a couple of his goons looking at Elsa. Hans whispers something to one of them, and the boy nods. Hans nods to the rest of his goons, and they get ready to throw their dodgeballs.
"Elsa, look out!" I say.
She nods and leaps out of the way of the balls that were just thrown, "Thanks, Anna! I owe you one."
I sigh in relief before ducking as another ball almost hits me. Turning around, I see Naveen dodge a ball before being hit by another one in the chest. He grunts and looks at me apologetically before standing on the sidelines.
"Elsa, Naveen is down!" I call out.
She nods before grabbing another ball and throwing it at Hans. Hans quickly puts up his hands, catching the ball. He smirks before glaring at me. He mouths something that looks like 'You're next.' He pulls one of his goons back into the game, and I turn towards my sister.
I gulp, "Elsa, what do I do?"
She sighs and walks to the sidelines, "Dodge them. Hand some balls to Kristoff or Olaf."
Grabbing a ball, I run towards Kristoff, but right before I get there, he is hit in the chest with a dodgeball. He grunts in surprise, but Kristoff looks at me apologetically before heading onto the sidelines with the rest of my teammates. Looking around me, I realize that it is only Olaf, me, and a girl named Ariel.
"Olaf, what do we do?" I ask.
He dodges a ball and throws his at one of the other kids before turning towards me, "Run, dodge, and throw. Anna, this is war! Let's do this!"
I giggle before gasping in surprise as the redheaded girl, Ariel, is pelted down by three balls. She groans and limps over to the sidelines. Olaf looks over at me and tries to smile reassuringly. I look at the other team nervously. There were about seven of them and only two of us.
Hans smirks, "Charge!"
He throws his ball, the rest of his team following behind him. I run out of the way, looking back to see Olaf hit in the leg. He grunts in frustration before walking to the sidelines. Oh no, my whole team is gone. This is not going to end well...
I hear my team start cheering, "You can do this, Anna! Come on, Anna!"
Smiling nervously, I grab a ball and run as more dodgeballs are thrown at me. With a grunt, I throw my ball, hitting one of the kids. I smile in victory before gasping as another ball is thrown at me. I dodge it again before looking over at Elsa.
I smile at Elsa, and she smiles back at me. Her smile quickly drops, and I frown. Quickly turning around, I see a ball coming right for me. I gasp, trying to dodge it, but I am too late. It hits me in the head, and everything becomes blurry. Feeling the other balls hit me, I groan in pain as I fall. My head hits the floor, and everything becomes muffled.
Hearing footsteps come closer to me, I see that a person was crouching beside me. The person leans closer towards me, their hands on their knee.
"I win. Guess you aren't as high and mighty as you seem to be," the figure says quietly so I can only hear.
It's Hans. I know it is. He gets up and walks away. My head is pounding, and the whole entire gym looks blurry. I grunt and stand up, realizing how hard it is to actually move. I feel a hand grab my hand, and a blurry figure stands in front of me.
"Anna, are you okay? You got hit pretty hard," the figure says, their soft voice very calming.
I smile crookedly, "I'm fine. It s'okay. Hans didn't hit me that hard."
Through my muddled vision, I make out that the figure is a girl with bright blue eyes and light blonde hair. She sighs in relief and lets go of my hand. The girl pushes her fingers through her hair.
"You're pretty," I say.
She giggles, "Thanks, Anna. Come on, gym is over. We gotta get back to our homerooms."
The pretty girl grabs my hand again, and she leads me towards a doorway. I squint, trying to read what the signs say, but my vision is just not having it. I sigh and just decide to trust the sweet girl. She leads me up a staircase, and we stop next to a door. She smiles at me and lets go of my hand.
"Alright, bye, Anna. I'll see you at lunch," the girl begins to walk away.
I pout, "Bye..."
Opening the door, I see more blurry figures. I smile and walk towards an empty seat. With a sigh I prop my hands up and lay my head on them. The teacher, a plump lady, looks at the class. At least, I think she is the teacher. Yeah, she's probably the teacher.
"Alright, class, I know there are only a couple days left, so we are going to do something fun! Today, we are watching a film. Now, sit down and please be quiet," the woman says.
I sigh and look ahead, my vision still messy. Rubbing my eyes, I hope that this ends soon.
"Lunch time!" the teacher, Mrs. Gerda, says.
Blinking, I stumble out of the classroom and towards my locker. For some reason, I can remember my locker number, but I can't recognize any of these people. Hans, that was the only one I could recognize so far. Groaning in frustration, I open my locker and take out my lunch box. Shutting it, I turn around.
Of course, Hans is behind me. I roll my eyes and look at him, crossing my arms. My vision had gotten clearer so I could see his hideous sideburns in all their horrible glory.
"What do you want, sideburns?" I ask haughtily.
He uses that stupid smirk again, "How did it feel to lose? I wouldn't know since I destroyed you."
Again, I roll my eyes, "Honestly, grow up. Seriously, I don't get your problem."
The boy slams a hand on the beside mine, but I don't wince, "You're afraid of me. Admit it."
Smirking, I say, "No, the only thing that scares me are those sideburns. Who's your hair stylist? I think my dog needs a haircut, too."
With a growl, the boy slams me against the lockers. In the process, he makes me hit my already hurt head onto the cold metal. I hiss in pain, and Hans gets close to my ear, his hand wrapping around my neck so I can't move.
"Don't push me, Anna. I will hurt you," he mutters so only I can hear him.
His grip tightens on my neck, and I feel the need for air grow. My eyes grow wide, and Hans lets go. I gasp and slump against the lockers. Hans walks away, his friends trailing behind him. My head is spinning, and my headache is throbbing.
After a few seconds, I walk out of the building into the yard where the kids eat lunch. My vision was still blurry, but I saw figures waving me over. I walk towards them and sit down in the soft grass. The pretty girl is among them, and she gasps as she sees me.
"Anna! What happened to your neck! It's red..." she asks worriedly.
The girl gently touches my neck, and I hiss in pain. She quickly takes her hands off, and I open my lunchbox. The rest of the people look at me worriedly. My head had begun to hurt even more, and I felt as if my vision was darkening. The girl looks at me worriedly.
"Are you feeling okay, Anna? You don't look that good..." the girl asks.
I look at her through half closed eyes, "Fine. 'M fine. Everything s'okay. Don' worry..."
The girl frowns, "Are you sure?"
I open my mouth to answer, but I feel myself collapse. She screams in surprise. The rest of the kids gasp and start muttering worriedly. I feel the ground beneath me, but I can't move. The platinum blonde girl leans over me, and I smile softly, finally able to recognize her.
"I'm fine, E'sa. Hans just was being a jerk and made me hit m' head..." I slur out.
She sighs and looks over at my friends, "Kristoff, get the school nurse. Anna, come on. Stay conscious."
I smile, "I can't promise that."
My eyes close, and everything else goes black. The only thing that remains is the throbbing in my head. I hope I don't make Elsa worried.
A/N: Bam! Updates are pushing out. Hopefully, you guys are ready for me to work tirelessly for 3 hours on each chapter XD I think this was the chapter that had the most breaks. Meaning I had to do chores and my dog (pug puppy... Ferdinand is not making me happy today |:/) peed on my bed so now I have to get new sheets and stuff. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the chapter because it took a lot of time XD
Le review time!
Fan-de-caidos-del-mapa: Well, Elsa had been friends with Hans (explanation later on so I can't tell you why XD sorry) but she was tired of hurting her sister and just didn't care anymore about looking good towards her friends. Elsa just wanted to fit in, but she realizes that it doesn't really matter as long as her best friend/sister, loves her. Hope that cleared the confusion :P
Thepopcornpup: Yay :D sistery is the best thing ever :3 We need to make a word calendar full of these kinds of words :P Christmassey also should be in it :D it could be "Thepopcornpup's Awesometastic Calendar Fiesta!" (Patent pending) I'm in a christmassey mood all the time XD I would have cream corned the jerk if he hadn't stopped so he's lucky that he was moved or he would have had to go through my awkward wrath :3 Yeah, bullies are the worse :( But here's a new chapter :D
Rarity01: *hands a taco* here. Put your feels into this :P It's deliciously emotional :D Hope you like the update :3
Thepopcornpup: Alright, I'm continuing it :P Thanks XD Those stories are next on my update list *hint: A Lost Cause* Yay ;D The cover art was accidentally found. I was just surfing the interwebs and being lazy, I looked up rsbaird (this is my username for everything so I had a ton of minecraft stuff come up XD) and the cover art came up with my username and this story :3
Protoestrella1: Well, Elsa just didn't really think that Anna would care and wanted to hang out with her own friends. Elsa just wanted to fit in (there is more reason but no spoilers!) Yay! Favorited :P *hugs* Yeah, Anna is just having a rough life, but no spoilers XD Yeah, Anna is alive (for now mwhaahhah! nah just kidding... or am I :D) Hans is stupid. And a jerk. I'm not abandoning it, but school had been hard. Summer is here so no worries :P Yeah, I love their sistery (Ooo! I used my Thepopcornpup's Awesometastic Calendar Fiesta! word of the day :D) relationship :3
