A/N: *takes in a deep breath* I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE TO ALL OF MY READERS. I know I said that I would update after 5+ reviews, but I was overwhelmed with finishing school and yes, sadly, summer homework. I would like to thank each and every one of you for even wanting to read my story. And to make up for it, I will make this chapter extra long. Thank you for everything!
Disclaimer: Why do I even bother.
Oz's POV
A demon. Could a demon be considered a chain because it could be bound by a contract? But for whatever reason, I have just realized that the Queen's Watchdog had a very mighty chess piece in his hand. Tiny fangs peeked out from behind Sebastian's lips, and his eyes glowed pink; his pupils turning into tiny slits.
Gil lowered his gun and looked at me, mouthing "Sorry for taking a while."
I nodded in response.
Sebastian removed his hand from his arm, and the injury where Gil had shot him had instantly disappeared. The only trace that there was even a wound was the blood stains on his sleeve. Sebastian tilted his head and smiled. "Well now. I was sincerely hoping you wouldn't have found out my secret."
"What do you mean," I growled. "A demon serving for the Queen was soon to be revealed anyways."
"Oz..?" Alice looked at me weakly. "What… is he?"
"Hell," I responded, glaring at Sebastian with all of my might, not like it would do me much good.
Gil reloaded his gun, and pointed it at Sebastian. "What is it that you want from us? From Pandora?"
Sebastian lunged forward, and before Gil could have pulled the trigger, knocked away the gun from Gil's hand, wrapping a hand around his neck with his other pointing at me.
"I want his soul," Sebastian cackled into Gil's ear. Gil coughed, and Sebastian squeezed his neck tighter. I ran over and threw a punch at Sebastian, yet he let go of Gil and dodged my punch. Gil fell to the ground, gasping for air as Alice patted his back.
"My soul?!" I shouted. "What does my soul have to with any of this?!"
"Because-" Sebastian started, but he tilted his head once more. "My master is calling for me. I must take my leave now." He bowed, and disappeared in a flurry of black mist.
"A demon," I sighed, remembering the symbol on his left hand. "He is bound by contract to Ciel, if I'm thinking correctly."
"Yes," Gil nodded. "I saw Ciel's contract in his right eye, though I wasn't sure of what it was in the first place. I thought it was simply a chain."
"Should we tell Break about this?" Alice continued patting Gil's back although she had a disgusted look on her face.
I looked at our shadows created by the soft candlelight in the basement, "I think he and Sharron already know by now."
Gil and Alice nodded, remembering Sharron's chain. "So, what should we do now?" Alice asked.
And that was a totally valid question. What WERE we going to do? We couldn't possibly face a demon by ourselves, unless Raven was powerful enough alongside the powers of the B-Rabbit. I placed Gil's arm on my shoulder, and we hobbled upstairs.
The dining room was chaotic. The guests had no clue of what to do now, because neither Ciel nor Sebastian was in sight. The other servants tried to calm them down, but with only four of them it was no use. A few of them even started to leave, even though there was a terrible storm, due to a few guests having their heads severed.
"What now…?" I muttered to myself. Should I go around and look for either one of them? But what would I do alone facing a demon? I thought to myself, and rushed out the doors of the manor. I should face Ciel and Sebastian head on, and make sure that no one else gets hurt. The rain was pouring hard, and in an my clothes were soaked almost instantly. Dang it, I knew I shouldn't have worn while clothes today. I ran around the manor towards the back, where the lawn seemed endless. I glanced around quickly, not finding any human being, or living soul in this scenario. "Dammit!" I shouted, stomping the ground. "Everyone here is going to be killed because of me!" I punched the nearest tree with my fist, and blood seeped from my knuckles. "Gil, Alice, everyone!" I kicked the tree this time. "And my soul will be in the grasp of a demon!"
I pounded away and the tree's trunk madly, and I felt a hand wrap around my wrist. I stopped, turned around and Gil was behind me, panting.
"What in the world do you think you're doing, Oz?!" He shouted. His clothes were just as soaked as I was.
I looked away from him, "Stop it, Gil!" I yelled. "I need to stop Ciel before anyone gets hurt!"
"If you would just listen to me, you wouldn't be in this condition!" He took both of my hands and looked at them. Blood mixed with rain dripped down the tips of my fingers, and I winced due to the pain.
"Then what is so important that you have to come and stop me?" I questioned.
"Ciel… Isn't behind this." He said.
"What?" I asked. "Are you sure?"
Gil sighed, "Yes, I'm sure. Break has him in his custody right now."
My mind kept spinning, "Wait, Break's here?" He nodded. I sighed, "Alright. I won't ask anymore. Let's go find Sebastian, and then-"
"It's not Sebastian either," Gil interrupted.
"What do you mean?"
"Have you looked closely at the necks? It doesn't look like someone would grab it and snap it in half," Gil explained. "And if you think about it, Sebastian has only been grabbing our necks all day. The necks look like they were cut by a sword, or a sharp weapon, because it is a smooth cut."
"Alright, but-"
"And we need to bandage you up!" Gil dragged me back towards the mansion.
I looked at his back, shocked. I felt heat in my cheeks, slightly embarrassed, and mumbled, "Thanks, Gil."
As we entered the mansion, Gil left me behind in order to find Alice. A sudden thought entered my head. Who do I know uses a sword, or any sharp weapon well? One person came to mind, and as I looked up onto the second story, a flash of blonde hair caught my eye.
"Isn't that E-" A cloth covered my mouth, and a sweet smell took over as my vision went black.
A/N: I think I'm using that ending a little more than needed… But tell me readers, who do you think that person with blonde hair is? And once again, I apologize for updating late. I hope this was enough to make it up for you. And hopefully I will be updating soon, as long as I know people are reading this story. 7+ reviews please!
