Okay so I meant Harmony's wedding is this chapter. Sorry if that was misleading, but this chapter is cute and important. Just to be clear, I have never been to a bar, so I don't know how this works.

SugarPOV-

''I don't think I can do this.''

It's February 14. Valentine's Day, and the day of Harmony's wedding.

Since Unique, Kitty, Kate, Amber and several others were busy with school, they decided to help with the wedding in other ways.

That leaves Courtney, Blair, Marley and I as bridesmaids.

''What do mean,'' Marley asks her younger cousin, pausing from where she is working on her hair.

''I love Hunter, but marriage is a commitment. What if something goes wrong?''

''You're just getting cold feet,'' Marley takes her hand, ''It probably happens to every bride.''

It sure happened to me.

''I had cold feet. I was so scared, and Blair had to help me calm down. Harmony, Hunter is so in love with you. You have nothing to worry about,'' I tell her.

''Besides. If Ryder and I can make it work, then anyone can,'' Blair teases, curling her own hair, trying to ease Harmony's nerves.

''So I'm being stupid?''

''No,' Marley firmly state, ''You are being human. Which is perfectly fine.''

We all need moments to wrap our heads around certain issues.

''Right,'' Harmony lets out a deep sigh, ''Thank you.''

''No problem,'' I shrug, turning back to the mirror so that I can apply my makeup.

''Can I borrow your mascara,'' Blair asks from where she's working on her own makeup, putting the cap back on her foundation.

''Sure,'' I hand it to her, noticing a glimmer of light shining off of her finger.

Her engagement ring.

''So the engagement is back on,'' I try to hide my smile, brushing my own foundation on.

''For a while, yes. We didn't want to tell anyone until after Harmony and Hunter's wedding. It's not going to be anything big. A courthouse wedding, maybe a small dinner afterwards. That's all we can afford. We don't want to ask our parents to help pay. Still, if they offer, we'd gladly accept. We're just ready to get that part of our life together started. We've made it through so much already,'' Blair practically gushes.

After everything they've put each other through, it's a miracle that they have made it work so long.

That just shows how right for eachother they are, I guess.

''Well, I'm happy for you,'' I begin to apply my eyeshadow, ''So let me know if you need any help.''

We are like sisters, after all. That's what we're supposed to do.

''Thank you,'' she picks up her lipstick, ''I appreciate that. You look gorgeous, by the way. Rory's going to think so, too.''

''You know,'' I look in the mirror, ''As beautiful as he makes me feel, he's also helped me see myself that way for a while.''

One of the many benefits of dating someone so wonderful.

''Ryder has helped me a lot, too. I think that is what a real relationship does. We help each other be the best versions of ourselves,'' she speaks, standing as she does, ''How do I look?''

Her dress is a red, mermaid silhouette dress with cap sleeves. It fits her perfectly, really.

''You look gorgeous. Ryder won't be able to keep his hands off of you,'' I tease, adjusting my own floor length, strapless gown and laughing when she blushes.

''Thanks, I think. I'm going to go find him. We need to talk,''

She slips out then, promising Harmony that she'll be back before it's time to get thing started.

''Hi,'' Courtney takes a seat next to me, ''You look lovely.''

''Thank you. So do you.''

There is an awkward silence, me choosing to focus on cosmetics while she sits next to me.

''I know we've had a kind of rough past. We all know that I had feelings for Rory. I resented both of you when you first started dating,'' she admits.

''Oh.''

I never realized how into him she really was.

''I'm happy that Rory has someone like you, Sugar. He really loves you. And those kids are his world. You two are good together. I just thought I'd tell you that,'' she stands, ''I'm going to go help Marley and Harmony. I'll see you later.''

Wow. We haven't talked in a while. That was the most honest, raw thing that she has ever said to me. Somehow, the fact that Courtney- one of Rory's best friends- trusts me with his heart. After all, it takes a lot to do that. To trust that someone as jaded as I am won't hurt you.

And it's definitely a risk that I'm glad he took.

BlairPOV-

''There you go, buddy.''

Ryder's picking Noah up, helping him get a drink from the water fountain at the church where Harmony and Hunter are getting married.

Grace is right next to him, tapping her foot as she dances in place.

''Well, don't you three look great,'' I join them.

''Blair!,'' Grace, the flower girl, lifts her arms for me to pick her up.

''Hey!,'' I set her on my hip, careful not to tear the fabric of either of our dresses, and kiss her cheek, ''You look beautiful.''

I'm so grateful that she's got Ryder's hair- and quite possibly his ears- because it's the one part of him that she does have. She's got my eyes, my nose, my curls. Noah, on the other hand, is all Ryder, other than my hair color.

We have got some beautiful kids.

''You look pretty,'' she beams, playing with my straightened hair, ''Can we do my hair like this.''

You're perfect the way you are.

''We'll see. We have to ask your dads first, honey,'' I remind her.

Hopefully, they'll be on my side.

''Honey, go let Sugar put your flowers in,'' I set her down, taking Noah from Ryder, ''And you, handsome, are coming with me. Ryder, I'll be back.''

By the time that I return from dropping the kids off, just so Harmony will relax and know that, yes, her flower girl and ring bearer look fine, Ryder is still waiting for me.

''You are stunning, you know that? You always are,'' Ryder rests his hands on my waist.

''Well, you don't look to bad yourself,'' I fix his bow tie, ''Kiss me?''

He lets out a short, breathy laugh, complying with my request.

Even of we have been dating for a while, the height difference is still a little funny, his 6'1 to my 5'2.

''What's wrong,'' he pulls away, fixing his boutonniere, ''You seem a little preoccupied.''

''I'm going to tell dad about the engagement today,'' I tell him, ''So you know that means we have to tell your parents, too.''

Even if your mom and I have been on better terms recently, she probably won't be too happy about this.

''It's going to be okay, right? we've discussed this for the past few weeks. Your job at the dance studio will be available again before we know it, even if there have been some delays in the repairs. And you have a job at the bar down the street from our house. You're doing well at NYADA, I'm doing great… we're ready. We can handle this.''

If I had any doubts, that instantly took them away.

''Okay,'' I grin when he kisses my head, ''I'll see you in a while. These heels are killing me. Promise me you won't let me fall?''

''Never,'' he kisses me again, the double implication of his words is heavy, and enough to reassure me that we're ready for this.

And that we'll do whatever it takes to get there.

BPOV-

''It was a nice ceremony,'' Kurt agrees, hand firmly clasped in mine as we make our way into the banquet hall for the reception, ''Their vows were beautiful.''

''They really were,'' I nod, squeezing his hand, ''I'm glad they found each other. They're good together.''

''True. Two different personalities, yet they balance each other out.''

Sort of like we do.

''I'm going to go check on the kids, okay,'' he pulls out his phone, ''Wait for me by the bar?''

Jade, Liam, and Jacob are spending the weekend with their aunt while she visits, giving them a chance to see her after a whole year.

''Sure,'' I nod, heading towards the bar, ''I'll get you something to drink.''

''Hello, sir,'' the man - who look like he's around Blair and Rory's age- grins when I approach the bar, '' My name is Kyle. How may I help you? May I suggest Mr. and Mrs. Clarington's signature cocktail?''

''That sounds great. Two, please,'' I respond,'' Thank you.''

He begins working on them, taking out two cocktail glasses and beginning to pour.

I look a while as the guests begin to pour in, the room becoming livelier by the minute.

''Woah!''

Following Kyle's wide-eyed gaze, I look to see what he is gazing in awe at: Kurt Anderson-Hummel.

''He's very attractive, isn't he,'' I smirk at Kyle, who doesn't even bother to hide his attraction.

''Total hottie,'' he is completely enthralled with my husband, ''I think a bit too old for me, though. But you totally have a shot if you're interested. I'd make a move on him if I were you.''

''Well, actually...'' I am about to explain, when i am cut off by Kurt joining us.

''Hello, handsome,'' Kurt saunters over to the bar, leaning up against the dark wood of the counter, ''What's somebody like you doing all alone?''

''Waiting for someone as handsome as you to join me, stranger,'' I hand him a drink, ignoring Kyle's shocked stare, ''Care to join me?''

''That depends?,'' Kurt's amused grin makes me laugh, ''What exactly are you looking for?''

''Maybe just one night, maybe more? I think it is only fair to tell you that I have four kids living at home, two in college, and I am considering adopting again. What do you think about that?,'' I take a sip of my cocktail, watching Kurt pretend to contemplate that.

''Sounds good to me. My name's Kurt.''

''Blaine,'' I shake his hand, marveling in the soft and hot skin, ''Would you like to sit with me?''

''That'd be great,'' he exaggerates a wink, ''Does that offer for tonight still stand?''

''Oh, you know it does,'' I stand, wrapping an arm around his waist before shooting a grateful glance at Kyle, ''Thanks for the drinks.''

''Uh-uh,'' he is obviously flabbergasted, ''E-enjoy your evening.'''

''We will.''

Kurt leads me to our table, biting back his own laugh, ''We're a good team, aren't we? I could hear your conversation before I got to you.''

''Well, he's right. You are handsome. That offer for later tonight does stand, by the way. Ryder and Blair are watching Grace. So we can have the whole,'' I pick up his hand, punctuating each word with a tender kiss to it, ''We will have the whole apartment to ourselves.''

It's been too long.

''Hmm,'' he leans against my forehead against mine, ''That sounds like a good plan to me.''

A very good plan indeed.

''I have to admit,'' Kurt speaks in a hushed tone, ''It's not the most important thing, but I absolutely love the physical part if our relationship.''

''As do I.''

For the both of us, this level of intimacy means being one hundred percent comfortable with the other person, and being vulnerable. Leaving yourself open, every insecurity and doubt. With Kurt, there's no need to hate anything about myself.

My better half helped me love each part of me, supporting him in the same way I've supported him from the beginning.

''The bartender is still staring at us,'' he whispers.

''A few people are staring,'' I lean a scoot my chair closer to his, ''I don't care.''

Kurt closes the gap between us for a short, simple kiss, enough to shut me up for a while.

Sure we are well aware of the people who disagree with us being together for whatever reason. We feel the stares, hear the gossip, see the vicious rumours that tabloids and websites try to spread. It doesn't matter, though. We're on cloud nine, even in the darkest of storms. The people that we know, the people that mean the most to us, build us up. We're on such a high level that nothing could get to us.

We won't let anybody bring us down.

RoryPOV-

''This is kind of nice, you know? All of us glee kids together again.''

''It is,'' Sugar nods, staring at where Harmony, Blair, Amber, Dottie and Lilly are all dancing together, ''Even if they did ditch their dates.''

I laugh, pressing a kiss to her forehead, ''You look incredible, you know.''

That's nothing new, though.

''Thanks. So do you,'' she beams, ''I'm really sorry about our fight last night.''

''I don't even remember what it was about,'' I shrug, ''Just that there was a lot of yelling. We're under a lot of stress, baby. We are both managing jobs, and I'm going to school. You are considering going to college again. We have two kids that are growing up. Two beautiful kids that we have to pick up from your mom's house in the morning. She said with the flu going around, she'd prefer to keep them in so they're mild coughs don't turn into anything worse.''

''Thank goodness for mom,'' Sugar sighs, ''She's been a lot of help. A lot more than my dad, at least.''

Her mood changes instantly, eyes clouding with bitter disappointment.

''Well, he won't see the amazing, beautiful loving person you have turned into. One day you're going to have your own clothing line and magazine and all of the things that you want. I know it.''

Hopefully, I'll be right by your side.

''And, you're graduating next year. We'll work something out so you can take summer classes, do your student teaching in the fall, and whatever else we have to do. I am right by your side.''

When my dream shifted from entertainment to being an education major, Sugar was right beside me. She always is.

''You know,'' I move some curly hair from her face, ''We're kind of cool together.''

''We're far from cool,'' she snorts in laughter, ''But we make this work pretty damn well. I like that, unlike my parent's marriage, this really is about us being equals. Someone was always trying to have the upperhand when they were together. I'm glad we don't...''

''We're not them. We have to have to be on each other's sides for this to work.''

I'll never say it because I don't want to offend her, but I don't want to be like her parents either.

''That's good. I like this. I love being with you,'' she giggles when the song changes to an upbeat love song, ''You're such an idiot. Stop dancing like that!''

''Oh come on! You know you want to,'' I whine playfully, letting loose like I only can with her.

''You're a loser. But you're my loser.''

In high school, that would have hurt. I spent a majority of my time thinking that it was true, wondering what a girl like her was doing with me.

Now, i'm more confident. We both are, really. Some days just suck, but those days are becoming less and less.

''You think we're going to have that?,'' she nods towards where my parents are, right next to Harmony's grandparents, ''What they have?''

''I know we are. We're both too damn stubborn to let each other go,'' I tease, ''Seriously. You worry too much. We can have it all, because give and take easily. We've never let each other down, Sugar. And you've never really doubted me. So don't start now, please. Let's just enjoy this night, and our fortunate alone time later on.''

Because I have really, really missed being with you like this.

''Alright. I'm going to go dance with the girls, if that's fine with you.''

''Go ahead,'' I let go of her hand, watching her hurry towards our friends

''Rory!''

Turning, I see Ryan, walking in my direction.

Five years ago, he was tormenting me. He made me so afraid to go to school that I broke down at the thought of having to step foot into the building again.

Now things are significantly different. Who would have thought my former bully just needed someone to be on his side?

''Ryan!,'' I accept his hug, ''Hey, how have you been?''

''Great. I was actually headed to the bar. Wanna come?''

I accept, following him.

''His name is Dakota,'' he shows me the picture on his phone, ''We have been together for a year and a half.''

''That's great. I'm glad you're happy, Ryan. You do deserve it.''

''Thanks,'' he looks down with a smile still painted on his lips, ''I feel… good when i'm with him, you know?''

''I know.''

From the way he's looking at just a picture of Dakota, it's clear that he has the same feelings for him that I have for Sugar.

''You would, if the way you and Sugar were making out before the reception was any indication,'' he laughs when I flush, ''I could see through your car windows. I decided not to disturb.''

''Please don't let her know that. She was apprehensive about it in the first place.''

''Your secret is safe with me,'' he nods, smile fading, ''I owe you, you know.''

Right. After everything that happened between us, who could forget?

''I… no, you don't. You were scared and confused. I wasn't going to judge you, but we know other people will. My dad and Blaine are still careful. I want you to know that if you are ever in need of someone to talk to, I'm here for you.''

Life is too hard to make it on our own. We all need somebody that we can depend on at one point, I think.

''What I did to you was so, so wrong. But you helped me and...''

''Because you needed help, Ryan. You couldn't keep hurting people, hurting yourself. It wasn't going to work out for anyone. I don't regret my decision. We got to know each other, and I consider you a friend. This is what friends do,'' I remind him,''I have no regrets about supporting you.''

I'd only regret if if I didn't.

''Thanks,'' he breathes out, running a hand down his face, ''You're a much better person than I am.''

''I get it from my dad,'' I shrug.

Because it's true. He took me in when I had no one else. He's an incredible person. Even now, I look up to him.

''Don't mention it. If you'll excuse me, though, I have to go get ready for my performance. Take care, Ryan.''

''You too, Rory.''

I really mean it. I am glad he found Dakota, even if their relationship is only temporary. To see a true genuine smile on someone's face, one that appears once you realize how irrevocably in love someone, warms your heart.

I think I could get used to that feeling.

BlainePOV-

''You okay?,'' I ask Blair, trying to keep the concern out of my voice.

''Yes,'' she nods, dancing with me.

Harmony insisted that anyone who wanted to could dance during her father-daughter dance, and Blair practically dragged me out here. I can hear Grace giggle, dancing with Ryder as Sugar's dancing with Kurt.

''There's something on your mind,'' i insist, ''Just tell me.''

''I… I'm getting married. We're really ready now'' she lifts her head from my shoulder to stare in my eyes, ''We were thinking October.''

''Oh.''

I should say more, but I don't know how to go on from there.

''It's going to be a small wedding. A courthouse wedding is all we can really afford. I'm ready, and he is ready. It would be nice to know that you're on my side''

Too be honest, I noticed the ring was back on her finger last week, and I have seen this day coming for a while.

Just not so soon.

''I'll support whatever you want to do,'' I tell her, ''You're my daughter, Blair. You mean a lot to me.''

''Yeah?''

''Yeah,'' I nod when she lays her head on my shoulder, ''Being a dad isn't easy. It could be difficult at times, yes, and-''

''You gave up a lot for me.''

Did I?

''Even if I did, I gained something better in return. For five years, it was just the two of us. You taught me what it really means to be a dad.''

I hope I didn't disappoint you on that.

''Blair,'' I pull back to look at her, ''Honey, why are you crying?''

''I'm just really, truly happy right now,'' she wipes at her eyes, smudging her makeup, ''I don't know… it finally seems like things are falling into place.''

''I'm glad you're happy. You have been through so much,'' I state, ''You're such an intelligent, living, talented, beautiful young woman. Your mom would be so proud of you. I am so proud of you.''

Just in case you doubt it, or I never tell you enough.

''You've been there for me since day one. From birth, to adopting me, to adopting Grace, to helping us out when we need i,'' she hugs me tighter, ''I… I hsbr no idea what I am doing most of the time. Being a mom, working , going to school… it's all so hard. You are always there to point me in the right direction when I really need you too. Just… thank you. I hope I turn out as amazing as you have.''

I'd much rather you just be yourself.

''You're pretty amazing yourself. I'm not just saying that because you're my daughter., alright? Whatever you decide to do with your life, you know I will be right there.''

No, you're not a little girl. Step-by-step, from a little girl who dressed up in her mom's clothes to a young woman building a family, working as many jobs as she has to as long as she's providing for her son.

I'm not my dad. Her efforts have always been, will always be, good enough for me.

''Promise,'' she looks up, and I see that, just like all of us, she still has some growing up to do.

She may have moved out at eighteen, but she's just now breaking out of her comfort zone, spreading her wings.

''Promise.''

For now, while she still needs me, I can catch her when she can't find the strength to fly.

I'm not worried about any of my kids, though. They're all going to grow up and do such amazing things.

Kurt and I will be able to say we did our best, that we raised them not to judge, to be themselves, and to never stop trying.

Honestly, I think our best will be just fine.
