Chapter 8
"Sesshomaru…?" Rin asked.
"What is it?" He asked, looking at his children.
"Where did you go?" Rin asked, turning her attention towards him.
"What do you mean?"
"You said, I'd be out of danger staying here in the village…what did you mean by that?"
Sesshomaru sighed as he wrapped his arms around Rin's shoulders, he didn't know how to tell her. He didn't want her to worry anymore than she already did. He knew Kaede was right, her life as well as their children were at risk.
"Rin…you don't want to know."

"My, my…Sesshomaru. You sure have changed." Kagura chuckled.
Sesshomaru stood there motionless, his hair blowing in the cool night; not taking Kagura's statement into consideration.
"That…Rin girl…" Kagura whispered.
Sesshomaru's eye twitched the second he heard Rin's name escape her mouth. What does she want with Rin? He thought to himself.
"She's an interesting girl…" Kagura began to wave her fan around. "I've heard that she's in, delicate, condition."
Sesshomaru reached for Tokijin and unsheathed his fang immediately.
"What do you want with her?" Sesshomaru growled, as his anger fueled within him.
"I require nothing of that girl." Kagura chuckled, releasing her fan to reveal it's maroon color.
Sesshomaru charged for Kagura, not taking a chance.
"Dance of the Dragon!" Kagura shouted over and over again, trying to throw Sesshomaru off his balance.
Sesshomaru didn't hesitate at all; his fang became a blur as he continuously maneuvered around Kagura's attack and swung Tokijin with full force, knocking Kagura into the air and down to the ground.
"It's not me you need to be worried about." Kagura said, slowly getting up.
Sesshomaru raced to her and immediately dug his nails into her throat and lifted her into the air. Kagura choked and placed her hand over his, trying to release his grip.
"What do you mean, I shouldn't be worried about you…?"
Suddenly Sesshomaru's arm fell to his side and was kept next to his body. He couldn't move. Something was holding him in his spot, and Kagura chuckled as she pulled a feather from her hair and immediately flew into the sky.
"The son of the great dog demon, well the years have been good to you; I see." A woman chuckled, revealing herself from the shadows.
"Who are you?" Sesshomaru asked. "And what do you want?"
"I am, Tsubaki." She said, standing in front of Sesshomaru. "You see, my weakness is my life; and I need the blood of a pure one to keep me young."
"And that involves me, how?" Sesshomaru questioned, trying to break free.
"I've heard that the priestess, Kikyo, is no longer in this world. But she does have a younger sister."
Sesshomaru jolted, and growled as his eyes turned red, "Leave her out of this!"
Tsubaki let out a revealing chuckle, knowing the rumors were true. She had heard that there was a demon involved with a young priestess, and he was right in front of her.
"I've also heard that she is in delicate condition…is this true?"
Sesshomaru's eyes were red as the crimson sky around them as he broke free from his entrapment and attacked Tsubaki. She disappeared away, and appeared behind him, giving her enough time to send her orders to Kagura.
"Go! Hunt down, Rin! I want her brought to me alive!" Tsubaki ordered.
Kagura chuckled as she began to race towards the village towards Rin. He leaped into the sky transforming into his dog demon form chasing after Kagura. He brought Kagura down immediately, and as he fell from the sky, Kagura attacked Sesshomaru and flung him down onto a sharp, jagged rock. Losing sight of himself, Sesshomaru collapsed into his human form, but in a few seconds he was up and looking around for Kagura or Tsubaki.
"You see, Sesshomaru…her blood will work best after the birth of her child."
With that last statement, Tsubaki immediately disappeared, as well as Kagura.
I will not let them harm, Rin. I have to protect her and our child. If that demon sorceress comes back, she will die. I swear it.

"Sesshomaru?" Rin said, waking Sesshomaru up from his daydream, "are you alright?"
Sesshomaru shook his head a bit and smiled, "Of course…but, we need to go hide."
"What do you mean?"
Sesshomaru looked around and slowly lifted Rin to her feet. He wrapped his fur coat over her head and draped it over her shoulders and kissed her forehead.
"We need to leave this village. Right now, my only concern is keeping you, Akemi and Katsuo safe."
