A Jurassic trip to Mobius!
Chapter 3: Metal date.
(A/N: I have decided to extend this story with more chapters!)
The lynx girl just sat on the couch in the ARK while the ultimate life form watched her with a glare that sent shivers down her spine.
"So…How are you the ultimate life form?" Jessica asked him.
"It's a long story but I didn't start out as the ultimate life form" Shadow said "I was once just a normal hedgehog, I ran away from my abusive father and mother".
"I had no idea about that, I'm sorry Shadow" Jess said.
"It's no problem you created" Shadow said "I was walking the streets of Station Square until Prof. Gerald found me".
"You mean the gray hedgehog Maria mentioned?" Jess asked him.
"He wasn't always a hedgehog" Shadow said "he was once a human that died but Eggman used some sort of strange source of power to revive him as a hedgehog".
"Cool" Jess said, Shadow nodded.
"Indeed" Shadow said "anyway, after Gerald brought me in and introducing me to Maria, I met the being that gave me the ability to be the ultimate life form, black doom".
"Black doom?" Jess asked.
"A powerful alien being that wanted his race to consume the inhabitants of Mobius" Shadow said "his DNA had all the energy I needed to become who I am, I was to originally cure Maria of her NIDS but something went wrong and she was shot".
"That's terrible!" Jess said "we are talking about the same Maria, right?"
"Yes" Shadow said "luckily, Gerald removed the bullet and placed her in a stasis tube to heal and become a hedgehog".
"Wow, that's neat!" Jess said.
"Yes but I was put into suspended animation for 50 years" Shadow said "after my long sleep, I was awoken by the doctor and-"
"Doctor? What doctor?" Jess asked.
"Doctor Ivo Robotnik" Shadow said "otherwise known as Dr. Eggman, because his body is shaped like an egg" Jess gave a slight giggle and Shadow smiled.
"He must have luck with all the ladies then" Jess joked.
"Not really" Shadow said "the doctor was going to use me to gather up all the chaos emeralds to power up the eclipse canon in the ark so he could destroy Mobius, but Sonic and his friends reminded me of my promise to Maria to protect the world and humanity".
"Wait, I thought this was an all animals planet" Jess said.
"Not really, Mobius is an alternative earth where humans and Mobians coexist peacefully" Shadow said "me and the faker and his friends ended up saving the day but my battles were far from over".
"How come?" Jess asked "I thought that Eggman was the only threat to Mobius".
"No, there was metal sonic and the black arms" Shadow said, Jess suddenly remembered Metal Sonic from earlier when he released her from his grip and how he flew off but the black arms were unfamiliar to her.
"Black arms?" Jess asked him.
"The race that wanted to consume the inhabitants of Mobius" Shadow said "luckily, I brought them all to extinction".
"Well that's a relief" Jess said "it would be nasty to see a lifeless planet".
"Yes, but even though I could never get the welcome I deserve from the people I protect when they only see me as a monster, I still protect them" Shadow said.
"You poor thing, people shouldn't see you as a monster" Jess said, Shadow smiled at her and nodded "that's the first time I seen you smile all day! Sonic said it was bad luck to see you smile but I don't believe that". The dark hedgehog felt a little more easy around this lynx girl and nodded, a door in the ark opened and Maria and Molly the hedgehogs walked into the room.
"Hey guys!" Maria said "we see you two are bonding!"
"Yep! And I must say, it's going well Maria" Shadow said a smiled to his wife (note: She became his wife in the last chapter of my previous story, Maria Robotnik's return).
"Well, it's nice to see that you're finally getting along with a new friend" Molly said.
"Maria! I need your help with my desk!" Gerald called from his office.
"Coming grandfather!" Maria said as she walked to his office.
"And please hurry! I think one of the legs are on my foot!" Gerald shouted.
"Hang on! I'm coming!" Maria said as she ran into his office, there was a high scream and Maria came back out with Gerald holding his foot and breathing in pain "I'm sorry grandfather! I'm so sorry!"
"It's okay Maria" Gerald said as he looked up at his granddaughter and smiled "but I think we should get me some ice in a bag for me".
"Yes sir" Maria said as she led Gerald to the ice room.
"I hope he's alright" Molly said.
"He'll be fine, I've seen the professor take on one of his scientists in a fist fight" Shadow said.
"Did he win?" Jess asked, before Shadow could answer, the door to the ark broke open and Metal Sonic flew into the room and landed right in front of the three.
"Hello" he dryly said.
"You!" Jess said surprised.
"You!" Shadow said as he lunged at Metal Sonic and tackled him to the ground "what do you want Metal Sonic?"
"I came to talk to her" he replied and pointed to Jess, the lynx girl was surprised and her eyes bulged out of her head.
"Me?" she asked.
"Yes" Metal Sonic said as he pushed Shadow off and got up and walked to her "I was just in the neighborhood and I…"
"Neighborhood? The ark is outer space you moron!" Shadow said as he rubbed his head.
"Right" Metal Sonic said "anyway, I was flying around and I remember the encounter we had with each other earlier and I just wanted to say I'm…Sorry for what I did by trying to kidnap you".
"He tried to kidnap you?" Molly asked Jess.
"Yes" she replied as she looked at Metal Sonic "and I forgive you".
"Thank you" Metal Sonic said as he rubbed the back of his neck and oil rolled down his head.
"Is that how you sweat?" Jess asked him.
"Yes" Metal Sonic replied "I'm sorry, I'm just nervous for once".
"You? Nervous?" Shadow asked him, surprised to see that one of Eggman's robots was actually nervous for once.
"You're nervous? How come?" Jess asked him.
"Well…I was wondering…" Metal Sonic began "if you would like to go out with me tonight?" Jess couldn't believe what he just asked her but she felt excitement and happiness rush over her whole body.
"I would love to!" she said.
"Great! I'll pick you up at 8!" Metal Sonic said before flying out of the ark, crashing through the window in the whole process.
"Well" Molly said "that was really weird".
"Weird? He's obviously planning something!" Shadow said "what if Eggman wants him to kidnap Jess!"
"Relax Shads" Jess said "I'm sure Metal Sonic isn't doing something that this Eggman guy wants him to do".
"But Jess" Shadow said.
"Shadow, I'll be fine" Jess said "I am 14 after all, I can go out with him" the ultimate life form just looked at her and growled a bit.
"Fine" he grumbled.
"Thanks Shadow!" Jess said as she ran out of the room and went to Maria's room, she may have been happy but Shadow wasn't because the person that was going to take her out was the same person who worked for Eggman and tried to conquer the world for his own and he wasn't about to let whatever plan the Sonic robot copy had in mind to work on getting the secrets she had of her home planet so he could give them to Eggman.
"What I miss?" Maria asked as she entered the room.
"Hey Maria, did I plan anything for us tonight?" Shadow asked Maria.
"Yes, you reserved seats for us at the restaurant" Maria said as she walked up to Shadow "and then we would come back to the ark and plan on what we should do for fixing up the ark".
"Okay" Shadow said "but I first have to meet a friend" he turned around and walked out of the room.
"Don't be late!" Maria said.
"I won't!" Shadow replied.
"I wonder where he's going" Molly said.
"Only one idea" Maria said "he's going to see Ivo".
Meanwhile…
"I hanged posters all over the neighborhood and called everyone I knew, they haven't seen Jess" Dr. Harding said as he slammed the door to his house and walked into the living room where Nima was sitting on the couch and her daughter laid her head on her lap.
"There were no ransoms" Nima said "have you tried calling her?"
"My phones dead" Dr. Harding said as he grabbed his phone from his pocket and showed the screen to her "what about yours?"
"Wait! No!" Nima said as she quickly grabbed it from her pocket and dialed Jess's number "please pick up, please pick up" the phone dialed for a minute and suddenly stopped to reveal a very familiar voice.
"Hello?"
"Jess! Is that you?" Nima asked.
"Nima? Thank goodness!" Jess said, Dr. Harding got up from his chair and rushed over to one Nima was on, Nima placed the phone on speaker for both to hear.
"Jess! It's me!" Dr. Harding said.
"Dad! I'm so happy to hear you guys again!" Jess said "you would not believe what I am going through right now!"
"Where are you?" Dr. Harding asked.
"You wouldn't believe me" Jess said.
"Jess, please tell us where you are" Nima said, Jess took a deep breath and answered.
"I'm on another planet" Jess said.
"What? Jess don't play around" Dr. Harding said.
"I'm not dad! I'm on another planet called Mobius! And you would not believe what's on this planet" Jess said "there's animals what walk and talk about people! It's amazing dad! Even more amazing than the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar!"
"Jess, please don't play around" Nima said "where are you?"
"Hey Jess! Who you talking to?" another voice asked on the line.
"Who's that?" Dr. Harding asked.
"Just Knuckles the echidna" Jess said "hey Knuckles, say hello to my dad and my friend".
"Sup?" Knuckles asked.
"Jess, I am not amused" Dr. Harding said "who is that?"
"Hey, my name is Knuckles!" Knuckles said "if you can't remember that bub! Then I'm going to reach through Jess's phone and-"
"Knuckles!" Jess shouted.
"What?" Knuckles' asked, Dr. Harding gave a hard sigh and became very angry at his daughter.
"Jess, listen to me" Dr. Harding said "I need you to tell me the truth of where you are".
"Dad, I told you I'm on another planet called Mobius! I'm telling the truth!" Jess said.
"Jessica Harding! Listen to your father this instant!" Nima said, she was about to answer when there was a sudden knock on the door, Dr. Harding got up from his spot and handed Nima the phone and walked towards the door "Jess, your father and I know that you have a very advance mind and you love to make up stories but a story about a planet full of talking animals isn't funny, tell us where you are! We're getting worried!" while Nima talked to Jess, Dr. Harding opened the door to see an overweight man with a thick mustache and odd clothing standing in the doorway.
"Can I help you?" Gerry asked.
"As a matter of fact you can!" the man said "my name is Dr. Ivo Robotnik! But you can call me Dr. Eggman! And I am here to kidnap you and your friends!"
"What?!"
"Attack!" Eggman yelled and egg-pawns smashed their way through the windows, Atlanta woke up and screamed when she saw the robots, Nima shielded her daughter with her arms and Gerry faced the evil doctor who was smirking evilly "say goodnight! Now my minions!" the egg-pawns released a strange green mist from their arms and it floated around the room, Gerry, Nima and Atlanta suddenly became woozy. Gerry fell on the floor and Nima and Atanta fell asleep on the couch "excellent work men! Now load them on the egg-carrier and we'll head back to Mobius and get what we need for world domination!" the doctor gave an evil laugh and the egg-pawns grabbed their targets and proceeded back to the ship.
Meanwhile…
"Hello? Dad? Nima?" Jess asked into the phone and then hung up "they must've hanged up".
"Your dad seemed pretty angry Jess" Knuckles said to the lynx girl as he crossed his arms "you think that you telling him that you're on an alien planet is a bit much?"
"Not necessarily" Jess said as she smiled at him "hey Knuckles? Think you have any dating advice for me?"
"Not really, never been on a date in my life!" Knuckles said and then he sighed "but I do know someone who does and she is the one person I hate the most".
"Who is it?" she asked.
"Rouge" Knuckles said.
Later….
Jess sat on the chair in the apartment as the white bat pasted back and forth while Knuckles sat in the corner with his arms crossed.
"So…First big date in your life?" Rouge asked her.
"Yes Rouge, and it's Metal Sonic" Jess said.
"Metal Sonic? Why would that robot copy want to take you out?" Rouge asked her.
"No clue, but he sounded very serious when he asked me out" Jess said "he had all the signs, being nervous, sweating and scratchy voice".
"Well, looks like being around Eggman so long made old Metal Sonic go crazy!" Knuckles said and chuckled, Rouge shot him a dirty glare and he stuck out his tongue at her.
"Well, I'll take you to get a dress and Knuckles will come along" Rouge said as she smirked.
"Me?! Why me?!" Knuckles shouted.
"Because you owe me a diamond necklace that you smashed when we first met!" Rouge shouted and the two began to argue again, Jess face-palmed herself and sighed.
"Maybe I should've just asked Sonic and Tails for help" she said to herself.
Later at the mall….
"Will you hurry up and pick out a necklace?" Knuckles asked Rouge as she studied all the necklaces in the showcase, so many designs and the amount of jewels in the necklaces made it hard for her to choose.
"Maybe the one with the red ruby" Rouge said "or maybe the one with the tiny saphires".
"Now you're just being annoying" Knuckles groaned, Rouge chuckled and she continued to look for her favorite necklace.
"Do you think it was a good idea to let Jess pick out her date dress?" Rouge asked Knuckles.
"Don't really care" Knuckles said "all I know is if Metal Sonic does something to Jess, then I'm going to really let him have it!" he punched the air and accidently knocked over a lazy-Susan.
"Hey! You must pay for that!" a Chinese hedgehog said, Knuckles groaned and Rouge giggled.
"How do I look?" the two turned around to see Jess wearing a blue dress with red shoes as she stood before the two, Knuckles gave a thumbs up and Rouge gave an awe.
"You look wonderful" Rouge said "I bet old knuckle head here will be jealous".
"Jealous?! What do mean jealous?!" Knuckles yelled at her.
"Nothing, nothing at all" Rouge said.
"I thought so" Knuckles said as he turned to the counter "how much for the dress and for the lazy-Susan?"
"Twelve rings for the dress" the hedgehog said "and five hundred rings for the lazy-Susan and twelve thousand rings for the broken jewelry!"
"What?! That's just gipped!" Knuckles shouted "you have no right to double-cross me!"
"You broke my jewelry! Now you must pay for it or I call the police!" the hedgehog said, Knuckles moaned and grabbed the rings for the payment.
"He's ruined" Rouge whispered to Jess, the lynx nodded.
Meanwhile…
"Wake up Dr. Harding" Eggman said, Gerry only stirred and Eggman sighed "I said wake up!" Gerry still laid asleep and Eggman tossed him off the bed Gerry was sleeping on.
"Thanks for the wake up call" Gerry said as he rubbed his eyes with his hands and looked up at the doctor "who are you and what am I doing here?"
"Allow me to explain" Eggman said as he took a bow "as I said earlier, my name is Doctor Ivo Robotnik but you may call me Dr. Eggman!"
"Okay then" Gerry said as he got up, not even sure why the doctor wanted to be called Eggman.
"Secondly, I had ordered my egg-pawns to kidnap you and your friends because" Eggman began "I happen to know where your daughter is" this was good news to Gerry and he was more than happy to listen to this news Eggman had.
"You do? Where is she?" Gerry asked.
"As she said earlier, she mentioned she was on my home planet Mobius" Eggman said.
"Doctor, please tell me where she really is" Gerry said.
"I am telling you the truth, she is own my planet" Eggman said "as we speak, the egg-carrier is landing on Mobius's surface, we shall begin searching for your daughter once we hit ground".
"I can't believe I'm listening to a lunatic" Gerry said.
"Now, now, now, I wouldn't call me a lunatic if I were you" Eggman said "I can get very upset when people call me insane".
"Just land your carrier so we can find my daughter" Gerry said.
"Very well! Your two friends are waiting in the break room for you while my egg-pawns serve them my famous homemade chocolate lava cupcakes!" Eggman said as he turned around and walked out of a sliding door and Gerry proceeded to follow and Eggman struck up a conversation "did you hear about the Xorda?"
Meanwhile….
"I don't know guys, I'm kind of nervous" Jess said as she sat on a chair in the ark, Shadow stood on one side while Maria elbowed the other "this is my first date and it's with a robot hedgehog! This can't get any stranger".
"Don't worry" Shadow said "I found Metal Sonic in a gym, said he was buffing himself up for the date" the dark hedgehog gave a slight chuckle.
"Did you ever find Ivo during your search?" Maria asked.
"No, he probably went on vacation" Shadow said "that or he probably finally went to the insane asylum".
"Shadow!" Maria said.
"What?" Shadow asked, there was a knock at the door and Jess got up from her chair.
"I got it" Jess said as she walked to the door, she was really nervous due to it being her first date and it being with a Sonic robot copy wasn't really helping it, she opened the door to see Metal Sonic wearing a tuxedo and a bouquet of flowers in his hands but the most interesting feature was his eyes that were now yellow "hi" she said nervously.
"Hello organic being" Metal Sonic said as he handed her the bouquet "This array of organic plant of beautiful properties are for you" Jess smelt the flowers and smiled, they smelled wonderful.
"They're beautiful" she replied with her smile "thank you".
"You are welcome" Metal Sonic held out his hand and Jess grabbed it "let us be on our way, I have found a nice spot for us tonight" Metal Sonic started his rocket back and the two went soaring out of the ark, Jess held on tight to make sure she wouldn't be lost in the deep void of space but when she say what was below the two, her mouth nearly dropped. The view from above the planet was beautiful, Mobius was a master piece of art with all it's continents and water with the clouds spinning nicely in the atmosphere, she had no idea how long she was gazing until both were suddenly falling towards the atmosphere "hang on tight!" Metal Sonic shouted, Jess held tighter to the robot's arm and she felt heat coming all over her body but it all died soon when they hit the ground on their feet.
"Well…That was exciting" Jess said as she wiped her forehead.
"Indeed" Metal Sonic said as he floated up "follow me to the spot" the robot flew away from her and she began to chase after him.
"Wait for me!" she shouted as she jumped over obstacles like rocks and fallen logs, Metal Sonic suddenly fell behind for her to catch up, much to her joy and the two came up to the spot.
"Welcome to the Emerald hill zone" Metal Sonic said, Jess looked around to see many different sized hills and loops around the zone but the place was like beauty to her, Metal Sonic tugged at her shirt and she turned her attention to him to see him pointing to a picnic blanket laid out with a picnic basket, plates, cups, forks and a flower in a jar to top it "I have prepared a small dinner date for both of us".
"That sounds wonderful" Jess said as the two walked over to the picnic spot "I'm not even sure how you can eat since you're a robot, no offense".
"None taken" Metal Sonic said as they sat down "I have my ways" he placed out the food for each other and began to eat and talk while laughing at some remarks and disagreeing and agreeing on many things but the biggest talk was yet to come when he asked "tell me, did you do anything exciting when you were on earth? Did you go to an island? What about seeing exotic animals or going on an adventure?"
"Well, it was kind of all three in between" Jess said, remembering the Isla Nublar incident.
"Do tell" Metal Sonic said.
"I really don't" Jess said.
"Please?" he asked, Jess looked at the robot and sighed.
"Back on earth, my dad worked for a zoo as a veterinarian" Jess said "the zoo was from the company InGen, but it wasn't a normal zoo".
"What I can tell, most zoo's on earth have non-anthropomorphic animals" Metal Sonic said "like elephants, lions and bears".
"Well, this zoo was different" Jess said "the zoo was called Jurassic Park, and It had Dinosaurs!"
"Dinosaurs?" Metal Sonic asked with disbelieve.
"Yeah, it was awesome to see Triceratops and a T-Rex" Jess said "but that was when they were in their enclosures, when me and my dad were on the island, something went wrong and the Dinosaur's got loose".
"Did you manage to get help?" Metal Sonic asked.
"Yes, but it took a long time to do that" Jess said "let me explain" Jess told Metal Sonic about meeting Nima the T-Rex attack, the roller coaster, meeting Billy, Oscar and Dr. Sorkin, the Velociraptor attack, the deaths of Oscar and Sorkin, the Mosasaur, Billy's death and the T-Rex attacking Jess and the others.
"That seemed like an exciting adventure" Metal Sonic said "beside the deaths that is, do you miss them though?"
"Yes, very much" Jess said "not a day goes by where I don't miss them, same with my dad and my friends Nima and Atlanta".
"Your father? I haven't seen him yet, mind if we go see him?" Metal Sonic asked.
"That's the thing, my dad is back on earth" Jess said "I'm not from Mobius, I only turned into a lynx when a chaos emerald fell onto to earth and sent me here and turned me into this!" she showed him her fury paw.
"But I like this form" Metal Sonic said, Jess slightly blushed at his words "I think you look wonderful, though I wouldn't mind seeing your human form".
"That I wish I could turn into" Jess said, Meal Sonic nodded and handed her a bottle of water "thanks metal".
"Please, call me MS" Metal Sonic said "so, do you like the date?"
"Yes, I do" Jess said "it's been my best date so far, also my first one".
"I knew you would like it" Metal Sonic said "because I was wondering if you want to go on another one tomorrow".
"That would be great" Jess said, the two stayed silent for a minute as Metal Sonic twirled his robotic fingers and Jess whistled, the two knew things were getting awkward "well…Shadow and Maria are waiting for me on the ark, guess I better get going".
"Alright then" Metal Sonic said, a little disappointed that she had to go, the lynx girl smiled and planted a kiss on his robotic cheek. Metal Sonic turned to her and his eyes became blue, Jess blushed and started to move closer to his face as did Metal Sonic, the two were inches apart and were ready to close the gap….
"Metal Sonic?!" the two snapped back into reality and the two looked to see Eggman standing completely bewildered but next to him was something that made Jess nervous.
"Dad?" she asked
"Jess?" Gerry asked with disbelieve, seeing that his daughter was a lynx.
"Nima? Atlanta?" Jess asked as she saw her friends.
"Jess?" they asked.
"Master!" Metal Sonic gasped, Eggman was fuming with fury as he saw the scene.
"What in the blazes are you doing?!" he shouted.
