Chapter 7: Billy?!
Metal Sonic woke up to the sound of an alarm clock going off and looked up to see himself in bed in a large room, next to him was a desk that had said clock and pressed the snooze button, the metal hedgehog got up from the bed and proceeded towards the door and opened it to see a hallway, this wasn't Eggman's base, this was somewhere else.
"Well, you're awake" a gruff voice said behind him, Metal Sonic spun around to see Shadow crossing his arms and a cold look on his face.
"What am I doing here?" Metal asked "answer me now or I will-".
"Destroy me? That could be pretty useless" Shadow said "the professor removed all your weapons when he was reprogramming you".
"The professor reprogrammed me?" Metal asked.
"Yeah, Jess wanted you to be less dangerous and the professor took away all your weapons" Shadow said.
"Where is the organic lynx?" Metal asked.
"She's down in her room, she's reading a book" Shadow said as he turned around and walked away, Metal Sonic turned around and walked in the opposite direction, he looked around the hallway to find any opened door that could lead to Jess's room when he suddenly saw a door opened, he looked into it to see Jess sleeping on the bed with her book resting next to her.
"Organic Jess located" he said silently as he walked into the room and stood over her, his cold metallic eyes rested on her sleeping face "commence wake up phase".
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" a voice said, Metal Sonic looked at the doorway to see Dr. Harding standing in the doorway with his arms crossed "get away from my daughter or else".
"Or else is not identifiable" Metal said as he looked at the man with his red eyes "request denied".
"I'm serious, leave my daughter alone or else" Gerry said as he walked towards the robotic hedgehog and stared down at him with his face full of anger "you stay away from Jess, Shadow told me about you and your deeds".
"Foolish human, the ultimate life form is a fool" Metal said as he walked past Gerry and entered the hallway and walked down its corridor until he entered the door of the professors lab, he opened the door and walked in to see the gray hedgehog and Maria standing at a table with a small science kit "greetings pathetic life forms".
"Hmm? Oh hello there" Gerald said as he kept his focus on the kit while Maria looked up at him and smiled with a friendly wave.
"Hi Metal!" she said.
"Professor, I request my weapons immediately" Metal said as he walked to the other side of the professors table.
"No can do Metal Sonic" Gerald said "I disposed of them before I reactivated you".
"You did what?" Metal Sonic asked, but before he could be answered, a shrill scream broke the air with the three running out of the room and Shadow, Gerry, Atlanta and a now awaken Jess running into the living room of the ark to see Nina aiming a gun at an unfamiliar man with his hands up.
"Listen to me! I'm just here to-"
"Spare me your lies Yoder!" Nina said "how are you alive?"
"Billy?" Jess asked, Billy turned his attention to see Jess, Gerry and the unfamiliar group to his side and nodded "you're alive?"
"But how?" Gerry asked.
"Long story, tell her to stop aiming her gun at me!" Billy said as he pointed at Nina.
"With pleasure" Shadow said as he snapped his fingers and the gun disappeared from Nina's reach, the woman looked in disbelieve as the gun was now in Shadow's hand "now take a seat".
"Thank you" Billy said as he took a seat on a chair and relaxed but Shadow suddenly pointed the gun at him "whoa! What's the big deal stripes?"
"Don't call me stripes" Shadow growled "I know about you and your past, Jess gave the inside of what you did in the past!"
"Yeah, now answer us on why you're alive" Gerry said, Billy took a deep breath and sighed.
"I was in a tube when I woke up" Billy said "it was in a lab and some fat guy was there".
"Was this fat subject displaying a large mustache on his face?" Metal asked, Billy nodded yes "it is Dr. Eggman, he has revived you".
"That's the guy" Billy said "I was pretty freaked out when he said my name, even though I had no idea who he was".
"Word of advice, stay away from him" Shadow said.
"He's right, Eggman's bad news" Jess said "if he revived you, imagine who else he can revive".
"She's got a point" Maria said "we need to find Ivo".
Meanwhile…
Sonic was running in the marble zone to clear his head and relax before his next battle with Eggman, he would often come across a few Badniks but he would destroy them with a spin dash and homing attack and free the little animals inside, he caught sight of a checkpoint pole and grabbed a hold of it before running again.
"Hey Sonic!" a familiar voice called out, Sonic came to a halt to see Tails and Knuckles standing at the entrance of the zone.
"Hey guys!" Sonic said as he walked over towards them and waved "long time no see!"
"It's only been a day" Knuckles said.
"Sonic, we've got trouble!" Tails said as he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Sonic, the blue hedgehog looked over it and then back at Tails.
"Who gave you this?" Sonic asked.
"Eggman did!" Tails said "it's all part of his latest evil plan!"
"Why would Eggman want to give us this?" Sonic asked as put the paper in his pocket.
"I don't know! But we got to stop him before it's too late!" Tails said.
"Call everyone else! We're going to need all the help we can get!" Sonic said.
