The evil soldier

Halliwell Manor

Piper's room

Piper Halliwell woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. She just had another nightmare with Cole. She couldn't stop thinking about him, she couldn't stop thinking about how her sister turned evil and took him away from her.

Phoebe...

All this time, she was alive.

Piper shook her head and sighed. She wanted to save her sister, but she wasn't prepared to sacrifice Cole.

Prue and Paige insisted on leaving things as they were, at least until they could find out how to save Phoebe.

Reluctantly, Piper agreed with that. Of course she wanted her sister back, vanquish her wasn't an option at all, but she feared for Cole's safety. Who knew what Phoebe would be capable of as the Source herself?

The queen's chambers

"Are you sure it worked?" the Seer asked, as soon as Cole shimmered out.

Phoebe nodded. "I saw the difference in his eyes. He's one of us, he's evil... again. He'll bring Piper's head. Now that he has his demonic powers back, it won't be a problem," she replied with a smile on her face.

"Things are never, ever that easy. Heart betrayed him once, my queen..." the Seer started to argue. "You can't guarantee that it won't happen again."

"What are you insinuating, Seer? Are you questioning my judgment?" Phoebe asked angrily.

"No, of course not... I'm not questioning you, I'm warning you about him. He loves the witch, remember? Love is a powerful feeling, when it's real. If he betrayed you..."

"He won't," Phoebe said, her voice trembling.

Damn Seer.

"Remember the human proverb, If someone betrays you once, it's his fault, if he betrays you twice, it's your fault. If it happen again, what will you do? Are you willing to sacrifice him?" The Seer asked.

"He won't betray me," Phoebe looked away.

"My queen didn't answer my question... Are you willing to sacrifice him?" The Seer asked defiantly.

"I'll do whatever I want," Phoebe replied evasively.

"The Source can't love," The Seer warned her. "Love is a human experience... Love is dangerous. Love can destroy you, my queen."

Phoebe stepped back. "I don't love him... It's not love!"

It's not love...

"If you don't love him, why did you bring him here after everything he did? You should kill him."

Phoebe let out an evil smile. "Because I want my revenge on my beloved sister... I want what's mine back. Any problem?"

The Seer shook her head. "No, no problem. I trust my queen... But..."

Phoebe raised an eyebrow. "But?"

"You should send another demon after him, just for precaution. After all, your sisters can find out a way to break the spell..." the Seer suggested.

Phoebe sighed.

The Seer was right. Piper certainly would try to "save" Cole...

And she couldn't allow that.

"You're right. I'll send someone after him..."

Paige shook her head. "There's nothing here..."

"Maybe we could try a power stripping potion," Piper suggested.

"I don't know," Prue rubbed the back of her neck. "We're deal with Source's possession here... I don't think it'll work."

"We need to try something, Prue... Without fear," Piper said softly.

Prue sucked in a deep breath. She was always very brave, but this time things were different. Phoebe's life and soul were at the stake and she couldn't play with that.

They needed to be cautious.

"Piper, I..." she started to say something, when someone shimmered in.

"Cole..." Piper let out in a whisper, as she turned to see his features.

She was already walking to him, when Paige grabbed her by the arm. "Piper, wait!" she warned her sister. "There's something wrong..."

"What?" Piper frowned, then looked into his eyes again.

They were different...

Instantly, Cole formed an energy ball in his right hand.

"Are you prepared to die, witch?" he asked, before throw the energy ball at her.
