shadowridder221: On the Narumi x Renge issue, you realize (I hope) that if- and I do mean IF I decide to pair off Narumi and Renge, that I'm gonna have to tone down her craziness, right?
~On with the story~
Chapter 3: Apologies prt 2- Kyouya
While Kyouya did his homework, he tried to think of ways to try to apologize to the triplet…until a constant vibration from his trousers pocket alerted him of an incoming text message. Bringing it out, the picture identifying who the text was from—was found to be from one of the twins, though which one, was beyond him as they had refused to give him a name- unless he could correctly guess which one of them was Hikaru. Opening the text, he read: Haruhi is Tsukiren.
The shadow king narrowed his eyes. Tsukiren? The mysterious clothes designer that had broken into the fashion industry a year ago? Haruhi Fujioka was Tsukiren? His glasses flashed. He could use that… but then again, he REALLY didn't want to make another misstep with the triplet. Perhaps asking the boy wouldn't kill him. So despite his nervousness, he stood up and walked straight for the table that the twins… and the triplets had congregated at. When he'd approached, he noticed that the twins were giving him a discreet thumbs up. 'Some encouragement.' He thought to himself, and mentally shivered when he saw the cold glare of one of the three, a second triplet had a look of indifference, and the third had a look of curiosity. It was the third Fujioka who looked curious that he focused on. "Haruhi Fujioka?" he asked, and mentally grinned and congratulated himself at being able to tell at least one of the triplets apart from his brothers, when the aforementioned triplet nodded.
"I would like to apologize for yesterday and the debacle as a whole." The dark-haired boy apologized, as sincerely as he could—not really familiar with apologizing to anyone.
Haruhi seemed to think about whether to accept his apology or not, until he finally replied, "Why the entire situation yesterday, Senpai?"
Poor Kyouya wasn't used to explaining himself to anyone. "I…" he hesitated, then tried again. "I was the one who planted and instigated the idea into attempting to ask you and your brothers into joining our Host Club."
"Well that explains a lot." One of the other triplets groused. Haruhi and the indifferent triplet both murmured admonishingly. "Narumi-nii…"
Kyouya watched Haruhi sigh exasperatedly, before turning from his brother to scrutinize himself (Kyouya), and after a couple (intense, heart-attack inducing) minutes—just long enough to make him nervous… Haruhi spoke, "Your apology is accepted, on one condition, Kyouya-senpai," And proceeded to tell him exactly what he'd apparently already told the twins.
The boy had a point, when he said that there could be serious repercussions if one didn't think before they acted. Kyouya kept that part in mind as well—to learn from the mistake and not repeat it. As he nodded his head, agreeing with the lower classman's condition, he risked a glance at the other two triplets, who frowned, but nodded in apparent acceptance of their brother accepting his apology.
"Hey, Kyouya-senpai, why don't you pull up a chair and do your schoolwork with us?" the twins asked simultaneously, a conspirator's gleam in their amber-colored eyes.
Kyouya now determined not to make a misstep around the three of them, glanced at the Fujiokas, who shrugged. "Suit yourself. You'll hear no complaint from us." One of them said, before turning back to his work. Kyouya nodded and one of the twins pulled over a chair, while the 2nd year went back to his table to gather his notebooks and textbooks to relocate to the Hitachiin/Fujioka study group.
By the time he got back to the table, there was a space cleared for him, so that he could work unobtrusively with the others. He was sitting between one of the twins and a Fujioka triplet, but adjacent from Haruhi. Now he had another problem: How would go about asking Haruhi about his secret identity as Tsukiren? While he worked on his schoolwork, he pondered his dilemma… unaware that the Hitachiin twins were watching their senpai.
A/N: DAMN! That has got to be the shortest chappie I've ever written! But another chapter is in the works. Keep Reading & Reviewing, and I'll try to get another chapter out ASAP.
