REVAMPED!

After Endgame spoilers, this was bittersweet to write. But, at the end of the day, I was happy writing it.

And, yes, we're just skipping straight to the wedding. I don't have a lot of chapters to work with.

Mark X: Last Minute Checking

"Jarvis!" Tony yells running down the halls in a frantic. "Is everything ready?!"

Jarvis: You will have to be more specific, Sir.

Tony stops running down the hall for a second, leaning against the wall just to catch his breath. He exhales frustratedly. Out of all the days for Jarvis to be sassy like him, it had to be on his wedding day. Specifically, a few hours before the ceremony.

As he promised, Tony found a resort on a beautiful beach island for the wedding. He managed to book the entire island so it will be dedicated to their wedding entirely. As of right now, he's running around the hotel like a headless chicken, panicking that he's about to get married in a few hours. With that out there, he has to make sure that the wedding is perfect and nothing awful happens. All of these check-ups is so he could fix them in the few hours he has and to make sure Pepper doesn't notice. Nobody wants a panicked bride, especially when that bride is Pepper Potts-future-Stark.

"Tuxedo?" Tony asks, rubbing his hands on his face.

Jarvis: In your room where The Avengers are waiting for you.

"Catering?"

Jarvis: Ready.

"How about Pepper, how is she doing?"

Jarvis: Honestly, Sir, better than you.

Tony laughs this time as he starts walking over to his hotel room. "Please tell me that everyone is here."

Jarvis: Well, it appears that Captain Rogers is not.

Tony narrows his eyes, sighing disappointedly. "Out of all days his spangled ass chooses to be late?!"

Jarvis doesn't respond. Tony rolls his eyes because some friend he has. Maybe he's having lady problems and, in that case, that is a completely valid reason for tardiness.

Tony hears the elevator doors open and smiles excitedly when he sees his (true) friend, Colonel James Rhodes, approach him in his best suit. They two men embrace for a second, feeling like young pumped men because one of them is getting married. They clap each other backs with small laughs before parting.

"I can't believe this day has come," Rhodey states as the two men continue walking to the room where Tony's going to get ready. "Playboy billionaire and Iron Man himself, Tony Stark, is getting married."

"Wow," Pepper says in one breath, looking outside her hotel room.

The early morning sun rises over the horizon, shining brightly against the multiple shades of clear blue in the ocean. Its warm shades of yellows, oranges, and reds contrast the waters and blue-grey icy clouds that contain its beauty. The ocean playfully sways back and forth against the shoreline of white sand.

Pepper stands on her balcony, wearing a silk white bathrobe. She inhales the satisfying salty scent of the beach as the wind passes by, blowing her hair back.

From behind, Jane places her hands on Pepper's shoulders and shares the view.

"You know," Jane starts, "I had the same reaction the first time I was looking over the balcony at the depths and wonders of Asgard. It's a sight that's so beautiful that you just can't believe it exists."

"I could look at this all day," Pepper says softly.

"You ready?" Jane asks excitedly.

Pepper nods. "I was feeling a bit more stressed than usual. I don't know why. I even feel like throwing up at some times. I don't know why either."

"Could be nerves?"

Natasha pops her head out of the balcony door. "Or marrying Tony Stark. I'd feel stressed and nauseous too if I was his bride."

Pepper narrows her eyes, laughing a little as the rest of the women join in. They walk back in their hotel room, Jane closes the balcony door behind her. All the women: Pepper, Jane, Betty, and Natasha are wearing matching robes and feeling as refreshed as possible. Their dresses for the big day are all hanging in the closet, crisp and pristine. From what they have seen so far, Tony has exceeded all possibilities for this wedding planning.

"How are the men doing?" Pepper asks Betty who just arrived from checking up on them.

"Tony's making sure everything's perfect which it is," Betty responds. "Steve isn't here yet."

"Really?" Pepper questions, surprised. "If anyone was going to be late, I thought it would be the groom."

They laugh before Pepper takes a seat in front of the vanity where she looks at her reflection. She stares at her plain face and undone hair, thinking about how in a few hours, she will resemble a bride. She turns around to face her girls because she knows that they only have a few hours for them all to get ready and they will use all of their time, down to the very last second. Everything may seem perfect from Tony's end, but it's too early to say anything in terms of the bride and her party's preparations. (They're all still in bathrobes).

"I'll do my face first," Pepper says, "you girls can prepare yourselves in that time because I think I'm going to be a while. Then, you could help me."

"Who's going to use this?" Jane asks, holding up the hair straightener. She clamps it a few times as it heats up before putting it back down on the vanity.

The women all look at one another, wondering who will volunteer to have that role. None of them offer which has Pepper surprised.

"Have any of you three ever straightened hair before?" Pepper questions. She only isn't offering because she has other tasks to take care of first.

"I've been busy throughout my lifetime acquiring other skills," Natasha says, grinning a little at this sudden revelation from the four of them.

"Our hair is already straight so why would we need it?" Betty says on behalf of herself and Jane. "So is yours."

"It's easier to style that way," Pepper tells them. "You know what? We'll figure it out. Let's not waste any more time. I'm getting married in a few hours!"
