I have changed the ending to my fourth chapter!
She fell in love. Hard. And not the kind where you have a high school crush and you think you are in love, but then end up with your heart broke; but real love. She would have given her life for this person,and she nearly did.
Tauriel was happy with Legolas, she really was, but she wasn't prepared for the disaster that was about to strike her quiet life.
She didn't mean to fall for a dwarf. I just kind of happened. She was horrified, at first, by their lack of manners and respect for others, but she was attracted to Kili, nephew of Thorin, brother of Fili; and a friendship blossomed.
However, over a small period of time, and much to her own disbelief, Tauriel found herself longing for this dwarf. Craving his touch and his smell.
In the final battle, he gave his life trying to protect her, and when she saw the thick wooden sword enter him, she felt as though her heart was being ripped from her chest and her soul was being sucked from her body. She was an empty shell.
Not even her sweetheart, Legolas, could bring peace to my mind, so she left, hoping she would never have to see the hurt look on Legolas' face again.
