"Dad?" Lucy asked.

"Hello, Lucy," Jude said. He looked around the dojo and scoffed.

"What are you doing here?" she asked nervously.

"I came to get you," he said flatly.

"I-I don't understand," she stuttered nervously.

"You're coming to live with me."

"What? No!" she exclaimed.

"You don't have a choice!" he barked.

"I won't leave Gray!" She ran over to her boyfriend and hugged him. "I won't!"

"Lucy, you have to leave," Gray said, pushing her way.

"How can you say that?" she asked breathlessly.

"I don't care if you leave. I don't even care if you ever come back," he said, crossing his arms.

"Please," she begged, crying. Jude walked over and picked her up. He started walking away. "Gray, don't leave me!"

"Ow, Lucy," Gray gasped. Her nails were digging into his arm. He gently shook her, waking her up. She lifted her tear-streaked face.

"Gray!" she exclaimed, hugging his neck tightly, the force knocking him on his back, she being pulled on top of him.

"Woah, what's wrong?" he asked. She sobbed quietly against his neck.

"I had this horrible dream that my father came to take me away and you just let him and you said you didn't care if I left or if you ever saw me again and it was the scariest thing ever and I really thought you didn't love me anymore and that would be awful because-"

"Lucy, calm down," Gray said soothingly, petting her hair. She reduced her crying to a slight sniffle. "It's alright. I'm not letting you go anywhere."

"Promise?" she asked, lifting her head up.

He kissed her forehead and smiled. "Promise"

"Good," she said, resting her head on his chest. With every beat of his heart, she felt a small amount of courage rush through her body. "Gray?"

"Hmm?" he hummed. He was twirling her hair in his fingers.

"I don't think I've said this before," she started. She took a deep breath. "But I-"

"Are you guys awake?" Ur asked, opening the door. "Wendy told me she slept with you two last night." She leaned against the doorway.

"Yeah, but she was gone when I woke up," Gray said. He didn't even mind that Lucy was still laying on him. For some reason, it wasn't even uncomfortable with Ur there.

"She said she went back to her room. She told me she just wanted to see if you were doing anything," she explained.

"Oh, yeah?" he asked, wondering where the conversation was going.

"She said she came here around nine, and you were already asleep."

"I was pretty tired," Lucy laughed nervously.

"Just lock your door, okay?" Ur flashed a smile before leaving.

Gray sighed at his mother. "What were you saying?" he asked.

"Nothing," she hissed, rolling over.

"Are you sure?" He noticed her sour tone.

"Perfectly fine," she hissed again. If words could kill, he was positive he would be dead.

"Hey, something's wrong." He put a hand on her shoulder and leaned over to look at her face. Her scowl turned into a small smile. "Ha! You smiled!"

"Oh, shut up." She laughed and pushed him off of herself.

"See, you can't stay mad at me for long."

"I wasn't mad at you," she said quietly, rolling over. She picked at the front shirt.

"Then what were you mad about?" He was happy that she wasn't mad at him, but he didn't know what else she could be mad about.

"Every time I try to tell you, something interrupts."

"We're alone now, aren't we?" He watched a small smile reach her lips.

The second she opened her mouth, the door opened.

"Every fucking time!" Lucy yelled loud enough for everyone in Fiore to hear her.

To say Wendy was scared into next Thursday was an understatement.

"Where are we going?" Lucy asked, stumbling along behind him. They went out to dinner, then he dragged her off somewhere. She wasn't sure where they were going. It looked like they were heading towards a forest, but she wasn't sure.

"Just trust me, okay?" Gray asked, looking over his shoulder.

After five minutes, Lucy took of her heals. She was wearing a nice shirt and a skirt, so she decided to wear heals, which turned out to be a mistake. The bottoms were caked in dirt. She sighed in relief when her feet were released from their constraints. She let them dangle loosely on her fingers as she blindly followed Gray. She looked up to the sky. The stars were already out. It was about eight at night, and there was a slight breeze. It was pretty warm, actually, since it wasn't snowing. She never understood the weather in Magnolia. It could snow for ten years straight, but the snow wouldn't stick unless it was December. She wasn't complaining, though.

Then she bumped into Gray's hard back. He turned around and caught her just before she fell. She smiled faintly at him and balanced herself. She looked past him and smiled. A large pond glistened under the moonlight. The treetops provided just enough covering for the moonlight to seep through in a beautiful way. The water looked clean, too. It was crystal clear.

"Cool, huh?" Gray asked. He pulled out a chunk of clothe from his back pocket. She watched him fan it out across the ground. He laid down on the blanket and folded his hands behind his head, looking up at the stars. She smiled for the third time and sat beside him. She got an idea, and a wide grin spread across her face. Gray noticed and sat up, giving her a questioning look.

"Let's swim!" she said happily. He gave her a funny look. "Oh come on," she whined. "It will be the first swim of the year! It will be fun!"

"Even if I were to go along with your crazy idea," he said, sighing, "We don't have swimming suits, so we couldn't swim."

"We don't need swimming suits," she said. His face turned red. "I don't mean that!" she yelled, her face turning an equal shade of read. "I did not mean skinny dippy," she said in a lower voice. She saw him relax a little. She couldn't help but giggle at that.

"Okay, so what's your master plan?" he asked, regaining his cool.

"You're such an idiot sometimes," she mumbled. She stood up and took her shirt off. She giggled at his face as she took her skirt off. She looked back to him, clad only in her underwear. He was making the most adorable face. He looked torn between looking at her or away. "Come on, take your clothes off."

"This is weird," he said. Nonetheless, he took his shirt off. The moment his pants were off, she grabbed his hand and ran to the pond. She jumped in, letting the cool water envelope her. She burst through the surface of the water, smiling.

"This is awesome!" she cheered. "The water is so deep and clear! You need to try this!"

"How many weird and illegal things are you going to make me do?" he asked. He was pretty sure this was illegal. She just shrugged and splashed some water around.

"Just get in the damn water!" Lucy snapped. Gray jumped in. He came to the surface and shook his head, water going everywhere. "See? It's fun!" she said, moving to wrap her arms around his neck. She started shivering and hugged him closer.

"It's too cold for you, huh?" he asked in a teasing voice. He knew it was a bad idea.

"Sh-shut u-u-u-p-p-p-p," she shivered.

"Okay, let's go home," Gray laughed. He swam over to the bank, Lucy still latched to him. He picked her up by the waist and lifted her out of the water. After they both put their clothes on, she stood at his side, hugging his waist. He wrapped the blanket around himself, covering Lucy in the process.

He would bet any money that she would be sick the next day.

I am loving where this story is going. I'm on Chapter 43 right now, and I love it! I have a bunch of OCs coming, just to let you all know. I honestly don't know how many chapters it will have a this point, but my original thought of fifty is way off. It will be way more! I don't really want to put a sequal in, so you're all stuck with a long story.
