~Friday~
"Can I see the curling iron?" Yuki asked, holding his hand out.
"Is that this one?" Kyo asked, holding up one of the irons.
"No, you idiot!" Yuki snapped. "That's a flat iron!"
"This one?" Rin asked, holding another up. Yuki rolled his eyes and grabbed the curling iron himself.
"I never knew you were good at this stuff," Lucy giggled. Yuki was doing her hair and makeup for the dance.
"Who do you think does the hair and makeup for us?" Ciel asked, trying to tie his tie. "It's too much of a pain to hire someone."
"Perfect!" Yuki said, setting the curling iron down. He grabbed the hairspray and sprayed her hair. "Now for your makeup." He grabbed the desired products and applied them to her face. About ten minutes later, he was finished. He spun her around in her chair to see her reflection in the bathroom mirror.
"Is this me?" Lucy asked, completely amazed.
"You look nice, Luce," Ciel said, still messing with his tie.
"You're hopeless," she sighed. She walked over and helped him. Yuki watched her move her hands with the fabric. A lightbulb clicked in his head.
"Your nails need painted!" he exclaimed. He dug through his box of makeup and pulled out a bottle of nail polish.
"Why do you have that?" Rin asked skeptically.
"I bought it for her. She has to have the perfect shade to compliment her dress," Yuki explained. He sat Lucy down again and started working on her nails.
"Dude, are you sure you aren't gay?" Kyo laughed. "We've been asking that for a while now, but I think this proves it." Ciel and Rin laughed along.
"Shut up," Yuki said, blushing. "I'm not gay."
"Then why are you blushing?" Ciel asked.
"It's embarrassing!" Yuki exclaimed.
"Uh, guys?" Lucy asked, drawing everyone's attention back to her. "The dance is going to start in a couple hours, so we should finish getting ready."

"It's so pretty!" Levy exclaimed in awe. Everyone else, minus one, nodded in agreement. The whole gymnasium was decorated with streamers, balloons, and various heart decor.
The minus one was standing there, his arms crossed. He was wearing a gray shirt with a light purple tie. His messy hair was unusually messy for reasons he didn't understand. And he was pretty irritated. Lucy was nowhere to be found. He wasn't even sure if they would match. Ultear just gave him a shirt and tie to wear, also not knowing what Lucy's dress looked like. He would have asked Layla, but that might have made him lose the bet.
"There's Kyo," Lisanna said. She was looking up towards the stage. Kyo, Yuki, Rin, and Chase were setting everything u.
"So that's why Chase wouldn't come," Ultear said. She decided to go up and see if they needed any help.
"Hey guys!" a peppy student council member said. "Little ones can go to the Fun Zone." She smiled at Wendy before bouncing over to the next group. In the corner of the gym, there was a giant banner that said FUN ZONE. The only difference between that area and the rest was the little chairs set up.
"You guys have fun, okay?" Gray asked, ruffling Wendy's hair. She smiled up at her big brother before running off with her friends. She was wearing a blue and yellow striped dress. Cheria's dress was pink. Yukino wore a gray skirt and purple top. Romeo and Mystogen both wore black dress pants and polo shirts.
"Welcome everyone!" Layla announced from the stage. She was one of the few teachers that helped with the dance. "Black Willow has decided to come play for us. So we will be playing popular music in between their songs. So grab some friends and have fun!" The lights were turned off, and fun disco lights were turned on.
Ciel finally went on stage and started singing a song. The people who haven't heard the band before were impressed. People started dancing and joking around. Lucy was still missing.
"Come on, Gray," Mira said, grabbing his hands. "Lucy will show up. Just shave fun until then, okay?" She pulled him over to the rest of the group.
Black Willow finished their first song. Still no sign of Lucy.
Another song.
The DJ played a song.
The next song was played.
Black Willow sang another.
Still no sign of Lucy.
Then a slow song came on. Gray watched everyone find their partners. Kyo even came over to dance with Lisanna.
"Gray?" He felt someone tug on his shirt. He looked down and saw Wendy. She was smiling up at him. "Can we dance?"
A smile reached his lips. "Of course we can," he said. She smiled and hugged him. He lifted her up so her legs were around his waist. He just loved his sister. She could have been dancing with Mystogen, but she wanted to dance withhim. Speaking of her friends, he looked over and saw Yukino, Cheria, Romeo, and Mystogen holding hands, dancing in a circle.
"Where's Lucy?" Wendy asked, looking around.
"She went to the bathroom," he lied. He didn't know how would would react that Lucy wasn't there. She seemed to think highly of the blonde, and ditching her big brother wouldn't make her happy.
When the song ended, Wendy ran back to her friends. She joined their dancing circle.
"Where's Lucy?" Juvia asked, resting her hand on Gray's shoulder. He just looked at her. "I can't believe she would ditch you like that."
"I'm sure she's doing something important."

"I can't do it," Lucy said, shaking her head. She was in one of the classrooms, talking to Ciel, Rin, and Chase.
"You sing it beautifully," Chase said. "Don't worry. You'll do fine. I'll see you out there." He grabbed Rin and left the room. He knew that if anyone could give her confidence, it would be Ciel.
"Do you remember when I sang at that festival?" Ciel asked. Lucy nodded. "I was freaking out, remember? You told me not to worry because it wasn't that big of deal."
"That was different," she said.
"It's not at all," he said. "You'll sing amazingly, and they will all love it."
"I just don't know," she said, grabbing her arm.
Ciel pulled her into a hug. "I know you can do it."
"Thanks, Ciel," she said, wrapping her arms around him.
X
"Hey guys!" Ciel said over the microphone. Everyone stopped talking and looked to him. "We have a really special song for you guys. I actually wrote it for one of my best friend. This is called Guardian Angel, and I hope you all like it." He started playing the keyboard in front of him, and the rest of the band followed his lead.
"I'll be there watching from way up high
The shadow you can't see when the sun's in the sky.
Wondering eyes have no disguise
Its obvious that this love never dies, never dies."
Yuki started singing "this love never dies" until Ciel started singing again.
"I'll be your guardian angel
Your sweet company
No matter where I go
I'll make sure you're all I see."
Ciel sang the chorus a second time, but no one was paying attention. They were watching Lucy walk from behind the speaker she was hiding behind. Gray felt his mouth go dry. Her dress fit her perfectly. Her golden hair was cut to a few inches past her shoulders. Part of her hair was tied to the side of her head and curled. The rest of her hair was needle straight. She had eyeliner, mascara, and a little bit of silver on her eyes. Her lips were pale pink. A natural blush adorned her cheeks. She nervously grabbed a microphone with her deep purple nails, courtesy of Yuki. She sang backup for Ciel.
"I'll be your guardian angel (guardian angel)
Guardian angel (guardian angel)
Your guardian angel (guardian angel)
Watching over you (watching over you)"
Gray was stunned. Lucy had the voice of an angel, perfect for the song. Kyo screamed the next verse.
"When you thought that you were alone
You turned your back on me
It's cause you think you sit high on a throne
I'll always have you on"
Ciel sang the chorus next.
"I'll be your guardian angel
Your sweet company
No matter where I go
I'll make sure you're all I see."
Lucy sang backup again.
"I'll be your guardian angel (My eyes are glued, I don't mean to intrude)
Your sweet company (I can't get them off of you)
No matter where I go (My eyes are glued, I don't mean to intrude)
I'll make sure you're all I see (I can't seem to get them off of you)."
Lucy sang the next verse by herself. No one was playing. It was just Lucy.
"I'll pray you'll be watching from way up high
The shadow I can't see when the sun's in the sky."
Lucy took a deep breath. She really felt like throwing up. She was so nervous. All her nerves slipped away when everyone clapped. They were clearly listening instead of dancing and talking.
"Lucy!" Erza, Lisanna, Mira, Cana, and Levy squealed. They ran up on stage and hugged her. She laughed and hugged them back. The DJ already started the next song.
"Since when can you sing?" Levy asked. "That was amazing!"
"Told you," Ciel said with a smirk.
"Oh shut up," Lucy laughed.
"You should go snap Gray out of his trance," Mira giggled. Lucy smiled and jumped off the stage. She ran over to Gray and jumped on him, hugging him around the neck. He hugged her back and buried his face in her hair.
"I missed you so much," he said, holding her closer. "Don't ever let me make a stupid bet like that again."
"Don't ever let me agree," she giggled. She pulled him into a kiss which he happily returned. She cut it short, though. "Gray," she said seriously.
"What is it?" he asked, worried by her tone.
"I-I love you," she said slowly.
Gray immediately kissed her again. He rested his forehead against her's and smiled.
"I love you, too," he said. She smiled and kissed him.
And under all those streamers and lights, they confessed their love to each other, not knowing the downfall descending upon them in only a few short months time.
So I encourage you all to listen to Guardian Angel by Abandon all Ships online, which I don't own. I changed what parts were sung and screamed to have Lucy sing a little, but you all get the point, right? And I made Yuki seem gay there for a bit of humor. I hope you all enjoyed that :) Oh, but don't get the wrong idea! I have nothing against gay people. A am good friends with a few gay people. *sigh* Of course you guys didn't think that. I was over thinking things, huh?
