A/N: Gonna keep it short this time. I temporary stopped writing this story because 1. I wrote too many stories at the same time and 2. Here I have chapter 6 while I already started chapter 10 and it's kinda confusing for me. That's all I wanted to mention, so I hope you'll like this chapter!
Chapter 6: Banished
(POV Rachel)
Leroy opened the door. I expected Hiram to come rushing to us any second. But he didn't, yet. I took my coat off and so did Leroy. Just when I wanted to hang it up, Hiram stormed into the hall.
"You!"
He said and pointed to Leroy.
"I told you not to go get her. And you…"
He pointed at me.
"Make sure I'll never have to wait that long anymore."
"But-"
"No excuses."
"You have to remind yourself I have glee club, dad. It's not my fault you forget…"
I immediately regretted what I said.
"How do you dare to be that rude? I told you to quit that bloody glee club, Rachel! The only thing you do there is sing stupid Beatles and Ke$ha songs!"
I frowned. I never thought he would know anything about music.
"How do you know?"
Hiram ignored my question and looked at Leroy.
"I wanna talk to you, in private."
I understood I had to go away, so I went up the stairs, but didn't go to my room. Instead I sat down on one of the highest stair steps. I silently listened to my dads' conversation.
"With picking her up, you basically tell her glee club is okay, but it isn't!"
I heard Hiram yell.
"You're just mad because when she has glee club, you always forget-"
Leroy started, but I heard Hiram interrupt him.
"No, Leroy. I'm mad because she still goes to that damn club! Instead she could have studied!"
"That's true, but-"
Hiram interrupted again.
"I can't trust you anymore, Leroy. Next time you do this-"
Leroy interrupted this time.
"Then what?"
"Then…then…"
It seemed like Hiram couldn't find a threat, but when I listened carefully, I could hear him whisper, but I didn't hear what exactly. Then I heard someone come up the stairs. I stood up as fast as I could and went to my room. Then I heard something crash downstairs. It was probably Hiram. He probably had kicked something. What a surprise.

(POV Finn)
"Finn? Finn, you're food's getting cold. Finn?"
Quinn waved in front of my face. I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Gosh, what's going on with you? You've been glancing for an hour!"
I looked down at my plate. The food looked delicious, but I just wasn't hungry.
"Oh."
I just said. Quinn scowled at me.
"Give me a proper answer, Finn. What's up?"
Did I really needed to tell her one of her enemies actually was my stepbrother? I didn't think so.
"I'm just tired."
It was only a white lie. I actually was tired.
"Eat your food and go to bed then."
"Great plan… Where are your parents?"
I grabbed the fork and put some food in my mouth. Mmm, this tasted the way it looked: amazing.
"They'll come home soon."
"So you made this?"
I said with my mouth full of food. Quinn looked away.
"Ew, gross, Finn. And yes, I made it. Like it or like it not, I don't care."
I swallowed the food.
"I honestly think you do care, otherwise you wouldn't have tried so hard. You've been in the kitchen for one and a half hour!"
Quinn smiled slightly.
"Sorry, you're right… Did you like it?"
I took another bite.
"Yes I really like it."
Quinn looked away again and laughed.
"Finn, stop talking with your mouth full, you crazy!"
I chewed and swallowed.
"I really liked it, truly. Loved it, actually. You're an amazing cook. It tastes delicious, Quinn. Who taught you?"
Quinn smiled.
"No-one did."
I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"I got the recipe of the meal online, but I changed some ingredients and used some extra things, like salt."
"Wow… I… You sound like a professional. Do you want to become a top chef or something?"
Quinn bit her lip.
"I've never thought about that…"
"Quinn, you really have talent! Why wouldn't you?"
"I think my parents won't like it. Especially my mum…"
I frowned.
"Why?"
I saw Quinn doubting whether to tell me or not.
"Hey, you can tell me. You can trust me. I'm your boyfriend."
A smile appeared on Quinn's face.
"My mum… She wanted to become a cook, too... But one day she made a meal for her parents, my grandparents, but it went wrong. The pan caught a fire, and she wasn't able to quench it in time…"
"So… she isn't a cook nowadays?"
I put some food in my mouth again.
"Yes, she is, but she doesn't want the same to happen to me. She's worried. I never got to cook, until last year, when she started to come home later because of her promotion."
"That makes sense."
I said and took the last bite of food.
"I think I really want to become a cook."
Quinn then said.
"Well, I'm not stopping you."
I said, and Quinn turned her head away again, because of my mouth with food.
"Ew, gross! Go away! Go to bed!"
She said and laughed. I swallowed my food and planted a kiss on her lips.
"Goodnight, Quinn."

(Rachel POV)
I was lying in bed. My dads were still fighting. Now I knew how much they used to love each other, I even felt worse than the other times they were fighting. At some point I heard Hiram scream
"I'm so done here!"
He came upstairs. I hid under my sheets and pretended I was sleeping, but actually I was wide awake and scared to death.
"Rachel?"
He came into my room. I didn't react. I heard him walk closer. I felt my blood drain faster through my veins and I started to sweat.
"Rach?"
I felt he was sitting down on my bed. He pulled the sheets down. I felt the cold wind rush over me.
"Wake up."
I felt him put his hands on me and he shook me back and forth.
"Please, dad, leave me alone."
I put my head into my pillow.
"No. You're coming with me."
I tilted my head up.
"What?"
"You heard me, Rachel."
I sat up.
"Where do you wanna go, dad?"
"Away. Away from here. Grab some stuff and let's go."
"No, dad! I don't want to come with you!"
I said and pushed him off my bed. He pointed at me.
"You come with me or there will be consequences, young lady! I'm gonna grab my stuff and when I'm back, I need you to be ready."
He got out of my room and slammed the door shut. I had the urge to scream, but I didn't, because it'd only make things worse. I didn't know what to do. I felt tears stream down my face. I knew Leroy had gone to bed and I knew he was sound asleep, because that's what happened every time my dads fought. I closed my eyes and thought about that one time it went wrong…
/
I heard my dads scream to each other downstairs. I'd expected this day to be more fun, since it was my 6th birthday. I did get a present, but my dads didn't invite anyone, so I was alone the whole day. Yes, my dads even went to their work, but Leroy got home earlier for me, and I think that's the reason they were fighting. I put my hands on my ears, so I could hear less screaming. Suddenly I heard Leroy groan really loud and I heard a door slam. I was worried Leroy was hurt, so I went downstairs. It took me a few minutes to find him sitting in the corner of the kitchen, holding a towel against his head.
"Daddy!"
I said as I ran to him.
"What happened, daddy? Are you hurt?"
"Nothing happened. I'm fine. Go back to your bed, Rachel."
"But why the towel?"
Leroy didn't answer.
"Where's dad?"
"He… he's gone… but he's gonna come back, I promise."
Leroy groaned again. I knew he wasn't okay.
"Dad, I'm gonna call 911."
I saw he wanted to say something back, but he wasn't able to. He hurt too much to say anything. Instead he groaned again. Luckily there was a phone on the kitchen counter, so I could keep an eye on daddy when I was going to call. I didn't want this to ever happen again.
/
"Rachel Berry, damn it! I told you to grab your stuff! You're coming with me, now!"
Hiram was back in my room and grabbed my arm.
"No! No! Let go of me! Don't touch me!"
I tried to run away, but he held me too tight.
"Don't try to escape! You're my daughter so you're coming with me, do you understand?"
I didn't respond, so he held my arm even tighter. I screamed. I screamed as loud as I could. He put his other hand on my mouth.
"You shut your mouth!"
He dragged me out of my room, down the stairs, towards the front door. I bit in his finger, so he removed his hand.
"Geez, you aren't a fucking dog!"
I took my moment of freedom and screamed as loud as I could. Of course Hiram didn't like that. He kicked me.
"Stop screaming and get out of the bloody door, Rachel!"
Just when Hiram opened the door and wanted to led me through it, Leroy came to rescue me.
"Daddy! Daddy, help me! He's trying to kidnap me!"
Hiram pushed me, so I felt through the front door onto the street.
"Hiram! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
I tried to look up, but my body wouldn't let me.
"I'm leaving! And I'm taking MY daughter with me!"
I heard Hiram say. I also heard Leroy snort.
"Your daughter? She's OUR daughter, and you know that very well, Hiram!"
"You know what? I'm not leaving. You are! And you can take her with you!"
I heard a sound, and then I saw Leroy lying next to me on the street.
"Have fun living on the streets, motherfuckers!"
I heard Hiram yell and shut the door. I tried to sit up again. This time my body did let me.
"Dad, c'mon, get up. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah."
He said and tried to get up, but he couldn't. He groaned.
"It's gonna be fine dad, but don't lie to me you are okay."
He groaned again. Then I saw tears appearing in his eyes.
"I'll call 911."
Luckily I had grabbed my phone before Hiram dragged me out of my room. I was really worried about my dad, but I didn't feel so great either. I didn't hurt on the outside, though. I didn't have scars or broken bones, but I hurt on the inside.
/
"He's got a broken wrist and that wound on his forehead needs to be sutured. He also has scratches on his face, arms and legs, like you, my darling, but they'll heal eventually without any help. But now, tell me exactly what happened. It's important, you know."
Me and my dad were at the hospital. The ambulance came really fast. I'd just told he tripped and fell. Then the paramedic asked what happened to me. He'd seen my scratches. I said nothing. I didn't know what to tell.
"I-"
I started, but saw the look in Leroy's eyes. He wanted me to tell the truth, but I didn't want to. Hiram would be taken away for a really long time and I didn't want that. I knew how much Leroy still loved Hiram. Through everything he still loved him. She couldn't set them apart.
"I've already said everything. My dad fell. That's human, you know?"
I felt like the nurse somehow knew I was lying.
"He just fell?"
The nurse raised an eyebrow.
"Like you did?"
I sighed.
"He tripped! I just told you, he tripped! Do I have to repeat everything?"
It was now the nurse who sighed.
"Listen, Rachel. It's best for everybody if you told the truth, no matter what the reason is you're not telling me. Trust me."
"How long does he have to stay here?"
I said, ignoring her statement.
"At least for 24 hours… He doesn't talk that much now, and we need to know if his brains are affected in any way, if he's got amnesia, for instance."
I got tears in my eyes. I didn't want him to stay. I didn't trust anyone in here. He was fine. Right?
"Can I stay here too?"
"You can, but I don't think that's a good idea. You're just a teenager. You need to go back to school tomorrow."
I shook my head. I didn't want her to be right, but she was.
"Can I have a moment with my dad, please?"
The nurse nodded.
"I'm back in five."
She said and left the room. I moved closer to my dad.
"Hey… It's all gonna be fine… But dad, where do I have to go now? I can't go home…"
Leroy grunted. He was still in pain.
"I can go to Kurt or Tina, but-"
To my surprise, my dad interrupted me.
"No. Go… Go to the Puckermans…"
"No, dad! I can't do that! Please!"
"Yes, you do… Or you have to go to aunt Mary… They both live near…"
I shook my head.
"No! I can walk! I can walk as far as I need to, I don't care, as long as I don't have to go to aunt Mary or the Puckermans!"
Leroy sighed. He was too tired to respond. He fell asleep.
"No! No, dad! I don't know where to go!"
The nurse came back, looking both angry and worried.
"Please, lower your voice! It's time for you to go."
"But-"
"Go, Rachel. You're dad's gonna be fine. He's isn't in any danger. You know that, right?"
I nodded and walked out of the room. I called Tina while I walked, but of course she didn't answer. It was freaking midnight. Just when I wanted to call Kurt, someone touched my shoulder.
"Rachel?"
I turned around. It was Kurt.
"What are you doing here?"
We said, at the exact same moment.
"You first."
Kurt said.
"I… My father… He fell."
I didn't wanna risk telling him more.
"He fell? How did it happen?"
I sighed. If he only knew…
"He tripped. But he's gonna be okay. I was just about to leave. So, why are you here?"
Kurt frowned, but answered my question.
"My dad got a heart attack… I don't know if he's gonna be fine… I'm staying here… at least for tonight."
I sighed again. I couldn't stay at his place, too. Well then.
"Um… I'm so sorry… I hope he'll get better, but I really should be going."
I said and walked away.
"But Rachel, why do I have the feeling you're hiding something from me? Come back! Please!"
Kurt called after me. I ignored him and started running. First he came after me, but when I went through the doors of the hospital I heard him stop, but I kept running, just to be sure. Also because it was dark and I was on my own. I needed to find a place to stay as fast as possible.
A/N: Sorry there wasn't much Finn in this chapter, but there will be more Finn in future chapters. I'm also sorry if something with the hospital things weren't right, it's because my medical knowledge is very small. Besides that, I hope you liked it and please review! I'll update asap!
