Lucy fished a silver ring through her lip. She got her lip pierced the week before, the day after she got back from vacation with Gray. She actually hasn't seen Gray since, so she wanted to look nice. Besides, it was the first day of her senior year. She was wearing a red and black plaid skirt that reached the midpoint of her thigh. Her top was a cut-up white off-shoulder shirt with a gray cami underneath. She wore black flip flops on her feet.

With a bounce in her step, Lucy walked to the kitchen. Laxus was half asleep, eating a bowl of cereal. He wouldn't start college for another month, so he was still home. Layla was asleep on the couch, papers scattered around her. She fell asleep the night before working on things for the new school year. Lucy just sighed and went to wake her mother up.

By the time Layla was fully awake, Gray was already walking through the door. He was just wearing a plain blue shirt and black jeans. It wasn't anything special, but Lucy still thought he looked amazing. Of course, she always thought he looked good.

"You almost ready to go?" Gray asked, raising an eyebrow at Laxus. The blonde was still in his pajamas, after all.

"I don't know, aren't I too much trouble to ride to school with you?" Lucy asks with a smirk. She could still hear Regina's voice in her head.

Gray just rolled his eyes. He grabbed Lucy's backpack before heading downstairs. Lucy laughed and followed him. When they go in the car, Lucy propped her feet on the dash and turned the radio on. Gray actually put his seatbelt on.

"It's so much easier to not see you for a week when it's not about a stupid bet, adding pressure," Gray pointed out. He leaned over and pecked Lucy on the lips. He imediately noticed her lip piercing. It was a loop in the corner if her mouth.

"What?" Lucy asked, noticing the look Gray was giving her.

"How did you convince Layla to let you pierce your lip?" he sighed, pulling out of the parking spot he was in.

"I didn't ask. I just went and got it done," Lucy said as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"You have to have an adult sign for it, though," Gray pointed out.

"Oh, an adult did." Lucy was grinning from ear to ear. "Chase signed the paper."

"Are you serious? He signed it?" Gray asked, completely shocked.

"I may or may not have asked him to sign the paper while doing some important paperwork. So he may of may not have actually looked at what he was signing," Lucy sighed.

"You are so unbelievable sometimes," Gray laughed.

They were already at the school. Lucy's jaw dropped when she saw Lisanna step out of Natsu's car. The white-haired girl bounced over to Natsu and held his hand. Natsu smiled at her, which really surprised Lucy.

"Natsu said they hooked up sometime over the summer," Gray said, noticing Lucy's shocked face. "I guess she flipped out and yelled at him, demanding to know why he was 'so damn dense.' I guess he just kissed her and then the rest is history."

"That's kind of sweet," Lucy said, smiling.

"Like a cavity," Gray laughed. He grabbed Lucy's hand and started walking towards the school.

It was weird because the whole gang, including Black Willow, had study hall together first period. Lucy was already starting to miss everyone that graduated. She quickly forgot about that, though, as soon as class started. The ringing of the bell started the laughter that wouldn't end until the bell to end school chimed.

Because when that final bell chimed, it didn't just signify the end of the school day. No, it signified the start of the end of the happy times. For when she got home, her life would come crashing down.

Gray sighed as he threw his keys on the counter, running a hand through his hair. It was about eight at night. He spent the past few hours at work, and he was super tired. He walked like a zombie to his living room and plopped down on the couch. He didn't notice Ultear's presence until she let out a small laugh.

"What's so funny?" Gray asked, slightly annoyed.

"You look like an old man that just spent the day with his grandkids at the park or something," Ultear laughed.

"I'm just exhausted," Gray sighed. "School was complete hell. I want summer back."

"Did you really have that much fun?" Ultear asked. "It seemed like you were too busy being jealous to have fun."

"And who exactly would I be jealous of?" Gray asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Come on," Ultear groaned. "You know that Lucy would blush and get all nervous if either Gin or Renji got within fifty feet of her. And you know how much of a pervert Renji is. You can't deny that he checked her out more than once."

"Okay, okay, I get it," Gray said, just wanting his sister to stop talking about that. "But I wasn't jealous. She probably won't see them anytime soon, anyways."

"She'll see them at your wedding."

If he was eating something, Gray would have chocked. "W-wedding?" he stuttered. "No one's getting married!"

"Geez, you look like you're sweating over there. Are you alright?" Ultear laughed. "I can't believe that you are afraid to marry Lucy!"

"Hey, watch it. I am not afraid," Gray corrected her. "I was just surprised."

"Surprised my ass!" Ultear laughed loudwr than before.

"We've only-"

"Gray!" Ur yelled, bursting into the room.

"Mom, calm down. What's wrong?" Ultear asked, sitting her mother on the couch beside her.

"Layla called," Ur started. She was panting for breathe from being so nervous and worked up. "Something's wrong with Lucy."

Gray was already going towards the kitchen to get his keys. Ur and Ultear quickly ran after him.

"You don't even know what's up yet," Ultear said, grabbing his arm.

"Yes," Ur agreed. "Layla said that Lucy was acting really spaced out for almost an hour just sitting on the couch. Then she just got up and walked outside. She's been gone for a few hours. She couldn't find her so she called me, seeing if I knew anything."

"I'll call you if I find her," Gray said. He slammed the front door shut and ran to his car. He drove out of the driveway in record time. It's been a whole since he's had to chase after Lucy. He wasn't quite sure where she would be.

After driving around town for almost am hour, Gray parked at a random parking lot and started walking. He decided to go to that tobacco and alcohol store to see if anyone's seen her. He didn't expect to find her on the roof, though. Since he found stairs to the roof, he climbed up after her.

"Lucy, what the hell are you doing up here?" Gray asked, crawling over to her. He noticed that she was smoking.

Lucy let out a puff of air. "I guess I'm just thinking," she said, her voice cracking.

Gray reached over and lifted her chin towards him. He could plainly see her puffy eyes but decided not to mention it. He took the cigarette from her and threw it off the roof. She didn't even abject, so he knew something was indeed wrong.

"You can't run off like that. It worried me sick," Gray said, putting an arm around her shoulders. He kissed the top of her forehead before resting his cheek on her head.

"You're about to be even more worried," Lucy said quietly.

"Oh god, what happened," Gray asked nervously, hugging Lucy tighter. He could imagine a million different things that could have happened.

"I got a letter from my dad today," Lucy said. She handed the folded up piece of paper to Gray. "He said that he's moving to Oak Town and wants me to move with him. I'd go to Sabertooth High."

By the time Lucy finished talking, Gray already read he letter three times. He couldn't believe it. Lucy was going to leave him. She would be about two hours away, so it wouldn't be too far of a drive for him, but it definitely would be difficult to see her.

"Did he say anything else?" Gray asked. He was hoping there would be another letter saying he was just joking.

"He could be coming to get me as soon as in two days," Lucy said, hugging Gray's waist. "Please don't let me go." She was on the verge of crying again.

"Hey, now why would I do that?" Gray asked, running his fingers through her hair.

"I had a dream a while ago. Dad came to get me and you let him take me," Lucy admitted.

"I wouldn't dream of it," Gray said. He started laughing. "We should probably go home. How about you come stay at my house? We'll both skip school tomorrow. We can go do something."

"Okay, let's go," Lucy said, standing up.

Gray ripped the envelope in half and threw it in a trashcan.

He wasn't letting Lucy go anywhere.

So there you have it. Lucy moving was the start if the downfall I mentioned in other chapters. I actually almost cried when I wrote the next chapter. It actually is my favorite chapter in this story so you can all look forward to that.
