A/N: It's been a while since I updated this story so here we go.
Chapter 11: Everything Explained
(POV Rachel)
At first, I didn't know where I was when I woke up the day after Leroy brought me to Hiram. I felt the earth move beneath me and I frowned. What was going on? I opened my eyes. I was in a car. I was in Hiram's car, wasn't I? I sat up and saw Hiram behind the steering wheel. I almost peed in my pants. Where the hell were we going and why didn't I remember getting into the car?
"Dad?" I asked. "What's going on?"
Hiram looked at me through the rear view mirror. "It's none of your concern. You'll find out soon enough."
He said it so calmly it creeped me out. I wouldn't dare asking him another question, so I kept my mouth shut for the rest of the ride.
/
I had no idea how long we had been on the road, because I had fallen asleep again. By the time I woke up I noticed that the car stood still. I slowly opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was that Hiram was gone. He left me alone in the car, in the middle of nowhere? I looked through the window to see if it was true. But it wasn't. I recognized this place. It was Shelby's home.

(POV Finn)
"Guys? Found her yet?" Quinn asked.
I knew she was very impatient, but this time I didn't blame her. Mr. Berry, Tina and I had been looking for her for one hour now. She wasn't here. I went back to the hall and shook my head. "No. Haven't found her, unfortunately."
Mr. Berry then showed up too. "I couldn't find her either."
Quinn sighed. "Great. So I still can't go home. Where is Tina?"
At that moment Tina came down the stairs. "Rach is not upstairs either. However, I did notice most of her stuff was gone."
Again Quinn sighed, this time louder, and I shook my head. She didn't have to exaggerate this much.
"I assume Rachel's dad... err... Hiram has taken her somewhere... Got any ideas on where they could have gone, Mr. Berry?"
Mr. Berry looked at me with a sad face. "I'm not sure... but maybe Hiram brought her back to the Puckermans..."
"No. We spoke with Puck this morning and he said he hadn't seen her. Now, Puck is many things, but he's not a liar."
I was surprised this came out of Quinn's mouth. This was the nicest thing she's ever said about someone that wasn't me or her.
"Okay... So what's the next option?" Tina said and looked at Mr. Berry. He seemed very uncomfortable.
"Well... perhaps he's taken her to Shelby..."
I frowned. "Shelby? As in Rachel's mom?"
"Finn..." Quinn started but I cut her off.
"No, I'm not stupid, Quinn. It was a rhetorical question. Now, does Shelby live nearby?" I turned to Mr. Berry and saw him nod slowly.
"Kind of. She lives on the other side of the town, but we're lucky that Lima isn't that big. It's a twenty minute ride."
"Let's go then." Tina said and started for the door. Mr. Berry, Quinn and I followed her.

(POV Rachel)
I knocked on the door and waited, still wondering why Hiram had brought me here. I was happy it was Shelby and not aunt Mary, but still. It was weird. Suddenly the door got opened by Hiram.
"You're awake... Well, come in." he said and walked back to where he came from.
I gave a little nod and walked into the house. I closed the door behind me and closed my eyes for a second. I just needed a moment before I would find out what was going to happen to me. Then I turned back around and followed Hiram. I found him sitting next to Shelby on the couch in the living room. I also saw two of my suitcases in the corner of the room.
"Err… what's going on? Why are my suitcases here?" I pointed at hem and frowned. Hiram, and even Shelby too, looked kind of relaxed.
"Rachel, please, sit down. We need to talk." Hiram said and I sat down on a chair.
"Well?"
"So you know that between Leroy and I… things aren't going so well…" Hiram trailed off and waited for my reaction.
"Yeah."
"And you know I've been treating you and Leroy wrong and that I've spent much time with Ms. Puckerman, right?"
Why was he asking me these questions? He knew damn well I knew those things (and hated him for them).
"Right." I said and crossed my arms. Now he had to say something relevant or I would go back to the car or something. Just anywhere that wasn't here.
"Now, I'm gonna give you explanations for these things and I want you to listen very carefully and I want you to not ask questions. I know that you're Rachel Berry, meaning that's an impossible task to ask from you, but at least try."
I slowly nodded and waited in silence. This was actually something useful.
"Me and Leroy… well… we've never really gotten along. It's just that my parents, your grandparents, wanted me to marry someone. At that moment I was with Leroy so I married him. I wasn't even sure yet, you know, if he was the one, but I wanted to please my parents. Two years later we got you into our lives and from then on everything got worse and worse. That's why I said you were the reason that our relationship didn't work and I'm sorry for that, because that wasn't true. We just had a different opinion on everything. And we still have. That's why we're fighting a lot. And once I'm angry, I'm angry for the rest of the day. I'm angry at everything. It's a thing I don't get a hold of and I've been starting to realize it's a real problem…"
I pressed my lips together to prevent myself from saying something. It was a lot of information to process and I had to try my very best not to ask a thing.
"…and that's why Leroy and I have decided we're going to do couple counseling… in Switzerland…"
I bit on my tongue. What? Why? When? How? I wanted to ask it all. Instead, I closed my eyes and let it sink in.
"…I've been planning this for a long time and now it's gonna happen. I've talked to Ms. Puckerman because I wanted you to move in with her for the time being. Leroy, however, preferred if you moved in with your aunt Mary. I knew you didn't like her very much. The problem was that Ms. Puckerman wasn't as convinced it was a good plan as I was. We talked a lot and decided that you and Puck had to get as close as possible in the first place, so you'd be comfortable around each other, so you wouldn't get into awkward situations when you lived together. But you never really got close, so I had to find another solution. So here we are. Shelby's ready to take you in."
I didn't know if it was my turn to speak again, so I remained silent.
"That's it, Rach. You can talk again."
Finally. "Okay. First of all, Shelby, I thought you were done with me. I mean, we SANG OUR GOODBYES. Remember? 'Poker Face'?"
"Yes Rachel, I remember, but that was before I got Beth. I was desperate to have a child. A really young child, and you were not particularly young. Now that I have Beth, I am much happier and I've realized that I have let you down. This is my chance to make it up to you. I hope you understand."
I nodded. "Yeah, okay, fair enough. Now, dad, why the couple counseling and why the hell in in Switzerland?!" I didn't even apologize for my language. I was so mad. And confused.
"Leroy and I don't want to give up on each other, Rach. We want to be good fathers to you and couple counseling is going to help us with that. In Switzerland they have a special program. 90 percent of the couples that had couple counseling there, have been able to fix their relationships. This is a marvelous opportunity for me and Leroy, Rachel. I hope you agree."
It cleared things up for me, so I nodded. However, I didn't really agree with his plan. Did they really have to do it in Switzerland? Was their relationship so bad? Yeah, it wasn't perfect, I knew that, but I've heard worse stories.
"How long will you be gone for?" I asked after some thinking. If they wanted to do this, I had to support them. They were my parents after all.
"We will be gone for five years."
I widened my eyes. "Five year?!"
"Five years, at least."
I looked down. "But the longest I've been without you guys is one week."
"I know, honey, but that's why Shelby's here. I believe she will take good care of you."
I looked at Shelby. Of course I believed that too. I just wasn't ready to miss my parents for all those years.
"I promise I will do anything to make you feel at home. Plus, you will have a sister for the first time in your life."
I smiled. "I do like that. I do have one last question, though. When will you leave, dad?"
Just at that moment, the doorbell rang.
"Sorry Rachel, I will answer your question later." Hiram said and stood up and walked to the door.
I knew he was only doing that to escape the question. The tension in the room was rising while he made his way out of the room. It was Shelby's house. It wasn't his responsibility for the door to be opened. I was curious who was at the door, though. Perhaps it was someone I knew.

(POV Finn)
"Where the hell is Rachel" I immediately asked when Hiram opened the door.
"She's… inside. Who-wait. Leroy?" Hiram saw Leroy standing behind Quinn, Tina and I.
"I'm sorry for his behavior. Can we come inside?" Leroy asked.
Before Hiram could answer, Tina started to talk. "Err, we didn't come here for a tea party, Mr. Leroy Berry."
"No, Tina's right. You should let Rachel go." Quinn said to Hiram and I was surprised she agreed with Tina. And it seemed like she didn't only do this because I wanted it, but also because she was actually concerned about Rachel, too.
"I'm not going to let her go, but you can go inside and see for yourself that Rachel is totally fine. However, Leroy, I want you to stay outside."
I frowned. "Why?"
"That's none of your concern, boy." Hiram said and crossed his arms.
"I have a name, sir. It's Finn." I said and crossed my arms too.
"I'm sorry, Hiram, but why on earth can't I come inside? I haven't done anything wrong!" Leroy said.
Hiram snorted. "And that's where you're wrong. Look, you can come inside, but you have to stay in the hall. I don't want anyone to hear us, because you and I are going to have a word."
Leroy nodded. "Fine."
/
"Rachel! Oh my god, you're alive!" I yelled and ran to her.
"Err, hi Finn, of course I am. My dad is not a murderer." Rachel frowned when she saw not only me and Tina, but also Quinn. "What is she doing here, Finn?" She asked and pointed at her.
Quinn scowled at her but didn't say anything.
"Believe it or not, but she willingly wanted to join us on our search for you." Finn sat down next to Rachel and looked her in the eye.
"You know what? I believe you. I believe Quinn actually wanted to join, because you were going. She would go anywhere you would go. I would say 'congrats on having such a wonderful girlfriend' but I think 'stalker much?' suits better."
"I don't get you, Rachel. We came here to rescue you, though all you do is complain."
"Rescue?" Shelby asked, who came back from the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand and placed it on the table, in front of Rachel.
"Thank you, Shelby."
"Ms. Corcoran? Hi, why are you here?" Tina asked.
"I live here." She said and sat down on the other side of Rachel.
"No, I know that, that's not what I-"
Rachel interrupted Tina. "Look, guys, I appreciate you've been looking for me. I honestly thought I was being kidnapped, but it turns out to be quite the opposite, actually."
"Well, do tell us." Quinn said and sat down on a chair with a huff.
A/N: That was it! Thank you for reading. Please, review if you can. I would really appreciate it.
