When a Gray got home, he scrambled to get his seatbelt off. In his hurry, he didn't even shut his car door. He left the front door open as well. He ran into the living room and saw Ultear and Chase there, but no Lucy. They were about to question him, but he ran off. He found Ur and Lyon making dinner in the kitchen. He groaned and ran upstairs. He swung open the door to his room and saw Lucy in the corner, curled up in a ball.

"Lucy," he sighed. She looked up at him with her soaked face, tears still going down her cheeks. He sat in front of her and wiped her face a bit with his thumb. She whimpered slightly and pushed him away. "Are you mad at me?"

"Of course I'm not," Lucy mumbled. She wiped her face off with her shirt sleeve. "I'm just disappointed, that's all."

"I'm sorry I freaked out like that," Gray apologized. Lucy was about to tell him it was okay, but he stopped her. "I was just surprised and I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry I scared you like that."

"Gray, do you want to have a kid?" Lucy asked. She wasn't scared that he yelled. She was scared that he would leave her. And the way he was yelling, she thought he might.

Gray sighed and put his forehead to hers. "I don't like kids. I never really did. I find them annoying and stupid. When you said you were pregnant, it was almost like you said the sky was blue, you know? I didn't really care." He saw more tears run down her face. He quickly wiped them away. "Hey, let me finish before you start crying," he laughed. "When I was driving around I was pretty upset. But then I realized that Jude could have hurt our baby when he hit you like that. So then I got worried and drove home really fast. And when I was doing that I was thinking. I could imagine us sitting in a nice house when we are older. A girl with black hair and your beautiful eyes would be sitting besides you, a pair of twins that look just like me on your other side, and a little baby girl with your blonde hair on your arms."

"That's so cheesy," Lucy laughed. Gray smiled and kissed her. She cut it short, though. "We are having a boy, so your fantasy won't quite happen."

"It's a girl for sure," Gray said. "I know for a fact. I mean, look how much trouble it's causing."

"What's that suppose to mean?!" Lucy asked angrily. "Are you saying that girls are trouble?"

"No, I'm saying that you are," Gray said huskily in her ear. He licked the side of her face and she laughed. "You just cause trouble wherever to go."

"Well our boy won't be like that, so it's okay," Lucy said, making sure it was clear that they were having a boy.

"We need to tell our parents," Gray said, sitting back on his heals, restoring a proper distance between them.

A wide grin spread on Lucy's face.

"So tell me again what was so important that you had to run to the store at nine o'clock at night?" Ur asked, slightly annoyed. It was now ten, and the whole family was sitting in the living room.

"We got something for you," Lucy said, handing Ur a little box. It had blue wrapping paper with a yellow bow. Ur gave them a weird look before taking the bow off. When she got to the paper, Gray tried to run away. Lucy quickly grabbed his waist and jerked him back. "You're staying," she hissed.

"Okay, what is this about?" Ur asked. She was a flick away from seeing what her present was. "Why is Gray trying to run? What did you get me? Is it going to explode in my face?"

"It'll explode all right," Gray mumbled under his breath. Lucy elbowed him in the ribs. "No, it won't. Please just open it."

Ur knew they were acting suspicious. She pulled the wrapping paper away, revealing a white box. She quickly opened it and pulled out a mug. She turned it around to read WORLD'S BEST GRANDMA written in fancy blue letters. Her eyes were as wide as saucers. Ultear and Lyon were also shocked. Wendy didn't understand.

"Lucy?" Ur asked, looking up at the pair. Gray was looking away, rubbing his neck nervously. Lucy was looking to the floor, a heavy blush on her cheeks. "Is this a joke or are you telling me you are?"

"What's going on?" Wendy asked, looking between her family. Everyone either looked shocked, uncomfortable, or a mix between the two.

"Yes, I'm pregnant," Lucy said, still looking at the floor. She felt something tug at the bottom of her shirt. She looked and saw Wendy smiling up at her.

"So you love Gray a lot?" Wendy asked. Everyone looked at her in confused. Lucy just nodded, not sure where the conversation was going. "My teacher said that babies are only born when two people really love each other. So even if the parents are young, it's okay, because there couldn't be a baby if they didn't love each other."

Lucy cried and hugged Wendy. What the girl said meant more than she would ever know. Wendy pulled away slightly and looked up at Lucy. "I think you'll be a good mom," she said sweetly.

"You two need to go tell Layla right now. She won't be happy if you wait another second," Ur said.

"Don't worry, I have another mug," Lucy said, pulled another wrapped box from the bag that was sitting on the floor.

"Is that better?" Lucy asked, setting an ice pack on Gray's eye.

"Mmm, yeah," Gray hummed, putting his hand over it.

"I didn't think Mom would punch you," Lucy laughed. "And kick you. Multiple times."

"My face hurts," Gray groaned. His whole face was red and puffy, along with his eye being black. Layla didn't take the news well. She beat Gray senseless, then went to bed. Now he was laying on the couch with Lucy taking care of him.

"Just know that it's only Friday night," Lucy laughed. She sat down so Gray's head was on her lap. "Then again, you always have to be here."

"I want you to stay here so I can take care of you," Gray said. He leaned into Lucy's hand as she pet his hair. "I don't want Sting to do it."

"You are so jealous it's stupid," Lucy laughed. Gray puffed out his cheeks in annoyance. "I'm not interested in Sting, okay?"

"Then why did you let him find out about the baby before you even thought about telling me?" Gray was bringing it up again, but he didn't care. It was really bothering him. He wanted to be able to come to the rescue when she needed him.

"I thought you hated kids," Lucy admitted. "I figured you wouldn't be excited, and I couldn't deal with you being upset when I found out."

Gray suddenly sat up. "I need to tell Renji!" he gasped. Renji was saying how he thought he would be a good father. He just needed to tell his uncle. Besides, Renji was a father to him anyways.

"Right now?" Lucy asked, following Gray out of the room. "Gray, it's almost midnight. Doesn't he live far away?"

"It's only about three hours," Gray said, shrugging. He went out to his car with Lucy close behind. "I don't care if I show up at three in the morning. He has to know."

"Gray?" Lucy asked as she buckled up. He just hummed as he started driving. "Your father has a grave, right?" She notice Gray tense up. "We should stop by his grave. I know it's cheesy, but you could introduce me to him. You can tell him your dad yourself, instead of him watching. I bet it would make him feel good."

"Lucy, he's dead," Gray said coldly.

"What if he's watching from heaven?" Lucy asked. "It would show him that you still care."

Nothing was said after that. Gray actually never went back to his father's grave. No ones ever went to his grave. No one was able to without crying. The one time Ur thought about it, she cried for a whole day before she decided not to. It wasn't that they didn't care, because they did. He glanced over to Lucy and saw that she was asleep. It sounded like she really wanted to go. Maybe after the baby is born they could go. Then Kyle could meet his grandchild, too.

There was a pounding on the door. Renji groaned and rolled over in bed. He looked at his alarm clock and saw that it was almost four in the morning. He had to get up at six for work. He sighed and got out of bed. Gin was in the hallway, also wondering what was going on. The two went downstairs and opened the door. They were surprised to see Lucy and Gray.

"What in the hell are you doing?" Renji asked angrily, trying to rub the tiredness from his eyes. "Do you realize what time it is?"

"Gray couldn't wait another second," Lucy said. She was leaning on Gray so she didn't fall over. She was that tired.

"Well get inside. It's cold out," Renji said, jerking them inside and slamming the door. He walked them to the living room and sat on the couch. Gin brought them all cups of coffee.

"So what made you guys stop by?" Gin asked nicely.

"There's something we need to tell you," Gray said. He looked down and saw that Lucy was asleep on his shoulder. He would have to say it himself. "Lucy's, um, pregnant."

Renji spit out the coffee that was in his mouth. "You got her knocked up?!" he yelled. Gray nodded. "And you were just telling me the other day how much you hated kids. I'm guessing you changed your mine?"

"I'm actually pretty excited," Gray said. He looked at Renji with a serious expression. "I'm not leaving Lucy. I don't care if she has a kid now or five years from now. It's our kid and I'm not going to let it go."

Renji cracked a grin. "You've gotten so mature," he said cheerfully. "Kyle would be proud. Are you going to marry her?"

This time, Gray didn't freak out and blush like he did with Ultear. He reached over to Lucy as fished the necklace out of her shirt. "I already told her I would. That's the reason I thought I messed something up. You said everything would be fine, and it is. I'm going to marry her, and we'll have the happy family that she never had."

"I could tell that you were serious," Renji said. "But since you gave her the most important thing to you, I know that you truly mean what you said."

Gray chuckled and shook his head. "You're wrong. This necklace isn't the most important thing to me." He put the necklace back inside Lucy's shirt and picked her up, taking her to the guest room where they would sleep.

X

Lucy woke up in an empty bed. She groaned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. She was alone in a room she's never seen. She assume she was at Renji's. She wouldn't be happy with Gray driving another three hours when he hadn't slept yet. It was pretty impressive that he drove and everything with his one eyes practically swelled shut and his whole body aching. Renji never did comment on that, so his eye must have been looking better.

Lucy felt like she was going to throw up. She could tell that the bedroom didn't have an attached bathroom, so she ran out of the room. She quickly started searching the doors, opening them as she went. The night before it was dark, so she didn't even realize the house was so big.

Lucy was sleeping on the third floor, which appeared to only have guest bedrooms. When she was on the second floor, she didn't manage to find a bathroom before she emptied the contents of her stomach. The whole front of her shirt and hands got very messy. She managed to not get anything on the floor, which was good.

Lucy trudged downstairs, about to throw up again because of the smell. She knew she didn't have anything else to throw up, so she was just gagging a little. She found Gray and Gin in the kitchen. Gray was sitting on the counter drinking coffee while Gin was cooking breakfast.

"Lucy!" Gray said worriedly, jumping off the counter. He noticed that she was covered in puke.

"I couldn't find the bathroom," Lucy said. She was crying. She felt really bad. She understood that she was pregnant and got morning sickness, but she felt like a small child that had an accident in bed. And just the fact that she wasn't in her own house made it that much worse.

"It's alright," Gray said, wiping her tears away. "You don't need to cry. It's not a big deal. You can just take a shower and change your shirt, then you'll be as good as new, right?"

"I feel like a child," Lucy cried into her hands. Her hormones were not helping the situation at all. They just had her emotions on super sensitive mode.

"It's really okay," Gin said awkwardly, just hoping that she would stop crying. The only person he's ever seen pregnant was Amy, but she was far enough along that she didn't get morning sickness and her hormones were pretty balanced.

"No it's not," Lucy continued to cry. Gin was going to say something else, but Gray shook his head. He led Lucy to the next floor to the bathroom. He took her inside. She was all out bawling.

"Babe, stop crying," Gray said soothingly. It didn't seem like she was going to. He sighed and started unbuttoning her shirt. She already had her pajamas on when they first came, so she was wearing them then. He grabbed his phone and texted Gin, telling to get some clothes for Lucy. He remembered that he had extras in his car.

"Do you want to take a shower?" Gray asked. Lucy shook her head, her lip quivering. He grabbed a washcloth and wiped off her face and neck. Then he just rinsed the tips of her hair to be safe. She uses mouthwash three times to clean her mouth.

"See? You're all better," Gray said. He heard Gin knock on the door, so he opened it to grab the clothes. "I really should have put you in a room near the bathroom. I don't even know why I stuck you on the third floor." He easily tugged her pants off of her. Then he helped her into the shorts he had. When he put the shirt on her, it was a little tight. Her stomach was showing, too. "Hey, I think you grew," he laughed.

"My stomach is obviously getting bigger," Lucy said, rolling her eyes.

"I didn't mean your stomach," Gray spoke into her ear. He laughed and gave her chest a playful squeeze.

"Ow!" Lucy gasped in pain, pushing him back a little. "Don't be so mean."

Gray just blinked a few times. He barely even touched her. He just figured it was something with her pregnancy. He was about to apologize, but she suddenly kissed him. He flinched, not expecting that. She giggled and skipped out of the room, leaving him confused and a bit flustered.

X

Lucy was officiously three months pregnant. There really was no way to hide it at that point. No one made fun of her at school, which was good. Of course, how can they when Sting and Rogue are always at her side? Both boys were terrifying in their own ways. They even took it upon themselves to switch their schedules around so they are with her all day. The teachers weren't exactly happy with that, but they let it go. She was pregnant, and it was their senior year.

When all of Gray and Lucy's friends found out, they all took their turns beating Gray up. He even earned a swift kick in the shins from Levy, believe it or not. After all the bullying stopped, they were all so excited. The girls were always texting Lucy, asking about names and any items she's bought. She didn't have any names or items yet, though. She wanted to wait until she knew the gender. The boys would text her, making sure she was okay. They were all very protected. Gray, on the other hand, would text every morning and call every night. He practically demanded a play-by-play of her whole day. She was surprised he didn't ask for exactly how many steps she took.

One tradition that seemed to be established was on weekends. Every other weekend Gray would take her home with him. But on the other weekends, Rogue, Yukino, and Sting would all go to Lucy's house and wake her up. It was just something they did. From there they would decide what to do for the day.

This particular morning, however, wasn't like the others. When the trio woke Lucy up, they didn't get the happy, smiling face of the blonde. No, they got her grabbing her stomach in pain.

"What's wrong?" Sting asked worriedly. "Are you having the baby?"

Yukino smacked him on the head. "Idiot! She has another six months for that!" she yelled angrily. She was one of the many people who couldn't believe that he took care of Lucy for as long as he did, just because he was so clueless.

"My stomach hurts," Lucy said, gasping out in pain. Tears were starting to form in her eyes.

"It may have something to do with the baby. We should take you to the hospital," Rogue suggested. He was lightly petting her hair, trying to calm her down.

"Take me to Magnolia," Lucy said. "If it's serious I want my family."

"Lucy, we can't-" Sting stopped talking when he saw the look Rogue was giving him.

At nine o'clock in the morning, the four were driving to Magnolia. Sting was driving, trying not to speed too much. Yukino was yelling at him the whole time for driving too fast or too slow. Rogue was in the backseat with Lucy. He managed to get her to fall asleep, which made everyone feel better. He had called Gray already, and he would be waiting at the hospital with Layla.

By the time the four got there, Layla had already signed Lucy in and everything. Rogue had told Gray everything that happened, so Layla was able to tell the nurses. The second Lucy came through the door, two nurses took her to a room to see what was wrong. Gray managed to convince them to go back as well. Surprising, everything wasn't rushed. They took their time in walking back to the room and asking questions. It wasn't a high-speed thing.

A nurse first came into the room. It was very surprising to see that it was Ur. She dropped her clipboard and went to Lucy's side at lightning speed. "What's wrong? Why are you in here? Did something happen?" she asked hurriedly. So much for not rushing things.

"I woke up and my stomach was hurting really bad," Lucy said, her voice a little strained.

Ur picked her clipboard back up and set it on the counter. She pulled a few things out of the drawers in the room. She did all the standard procedures, checking her heart-rate and everything.

"Lucy Heartfilia?" a doctor asked, entering the room. "I'm Dr. Bisca."

"Is it alright if I stay?" Ur asked, hoping the answer was yes. Her first grandchild could be in danger, after all.

"That's fine," Bisca said. "Lucy, will you lie down for me?" The blonde slowly did so, wincing slightly. Bisca lifted up her shirt and put her hands on Lucy's stomach. She used the stethoscope around her neck to listen for the baby's heart-rate. "That's odd. I don't hear anything."

"Are you saying?" Ur asked, her eyes wide.

Bisca sighed and let Lucy sit up again. "I can't be so sure right away. The baby may just have a weak beat and I can't hear it. We'll just have to do more tests. Gray, you'll need to go to the waiting room."

Gray didn't even hear Bisca speak. He barely even noticed that Ur took him back to the waiting room and sat him down. He really couldn't process what was happening. Dr. Bisca was implying that the baby might be dead, right? It sure sounded like that. He couldn't believe it.

"Gray!" Ur yelled, shaking his shoulders. He was successfully brought back to reality. "Everything's going to be okay. Didn't you hear Bisca? The baby probably doesn't have a strong heart-beat anyways. Lucy probably is just getting cramps. That happens. Don't get all upset over nothing, alright?"

After Ur left, no one said anything. They could all guess what was going on with Lucy at the moment. Even though Ur told him not to worry, Gray was only worrying. Lucy was beaten severely by her father while pregnant. How couldn't something have gone wrong? The only hope he had was that the baby wasn't developed yet, so it didn't get any damage.

After an hour, Ur came back out, telling them they could go in and see Lucy. Everyone pretty much rushed back, aside from Gray. He slowly went forward, stopped in front of his mother. He saw a tear slip out of her eyes. That was enough for him to know. He leaned his head on her shoulder, and cried.

The baby was gone.

This chapter is close to 4,000 words. I decided that I'm going to start having longer chapters so there aren't as many. I would just feel weird updating chapter eighty, you know? That was just an example. Don't expect that many chapters. This story will be long though!

How ow could I forget? We have four-hundred reviews! Wasn't it just yesterday that I was announcing the prize for three-hundred reviews? Anyways, there will be a prize at five-hundred. It will probably be the same as before, but I'm not entirely sure.
